Egg Nog

Creamy egg-nog, oak-y cognac, vanilla, sugar & spice... Egg-nog is well represented here in the sillage, but it took me awhile to figure out which note I was smelling that isn't present in store-bought egg nog. It's a note that reminds me of a match head, and I think it's the oak nuances of cognac. I smell something similar with oak in Nirvana Bourbon Elizabeth & James, although this isn't a dupe. Up close on the skin, the oak-y match-head note stands out (possibly adding to the Christmas candle vibe some folks get), but it disappears in the sillage of creamy, sweet egg-nog. I was initially thrown off a bit by this, as I drink my egg-nog virgin, with coffee, or add it to baking. Spices are here, but they're soft and nutmeg is a little more forward than the cinnamon imo. As it turns out the ratio of theses spices is quite particular between egg-nog, pumpkin-pie and gingerbread, which all use many of the same spices. As an aside, last weekend I tried making egg-nog crêpes by replacing the milk with egg-nog... delicious. Overall, this scent is enjoyable and fans of oak-y notes may especially like this. Enjoy!

I was lucky enough to stumble across a bottle of this years ago, and I am so glad I did. It is, as far as I can remember, the only fragrance I have ever used down to the last drop. It's also the only fragrance that has ever inspired me to want to repurchase. While not particularly long lasting, the scent was incredible. The bottle was also extremely cute (I had the more basic version that just said "Egg Nog" and didn't include the recipe) and had a great shape. It was a really delightful sensory experience just holding it. I definitely recommend this scent if you like either warm spice or sugary food scents. I'm excited to try Demeter's other scents and hope they are as fun and pleasant as this one.

I am stunned by this fragrance! It is inexpensive, but boy does it smell good and it has decent staying power. I have longed to find a fragrance that smells like the wonderful aroma of the brand: "The Creamery" Egg Nog with a touch of cinnamon on top which I think is one of the most wonderful smells in the world and it tastes just as good. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas I have to buy this egg nog. This fragrance is not exactly like it, but it is close and will do for now. This fragrance now makes me curious to smell the other bottles in their line. I bought their "Play Do" fragrance because as a kid, I love the Play do smell and it is spot on.

Such a nice milky eggnog with a heck ton of vanilla in there. I pickup on the spices, especially on the top notes, mostly cinnamon. It would be perfect, and for the price its an absolute steal, BUT there is one draw back; after around the 12 hr mark, on some whiffs, there's a bit of a cheesy smell.

Spicy, sweet, milky, and just overall comforting. Haven't actually ever tasted a real egg so I cannot compare but it feels like a warm chai tea sort of scent. I can definitely pick out the cinnamon spice.

1st, this is THE BEST Demeter fragrance I have ever encountered! Complex and richly layered. No single note scent here! Opening is very much a realistic eggnog gourmand but the long dry down is a delicious creamy spice with a sandalwood base that makes this completely wearable as a stand-alone fragrance. 2nd, the lasting power has also blown every other Demeter frag completely out of the water! Like, utterly destroyed! I stopped to write this review after I kept getting delicious, woody whiffs of myself FIVE HOURS after I applied. Yes, it doesn't project at this point but I am definitely enjoying it as I move (and I wear scents for myself anyway). Perfectly unisex. The opening is very sweet and spicy. The long dry down is smooth, creamy sandalwood, (like a whipped/fluffy sandalwood) with dry nutmeg. Some might find the end game leaning less fem and more masculine, but I think it's a perfect balance. If you're into gourmands and willing to risk $20 on a Demeter, I'd recommend this one far, far above any others. It's a true diamond in the rough. Whoever is the nose behind this gem needs more creative control at Demeter! And a pay raise. NOTE FOR ME Review of 120mL spray. I would like to try the rollerball and massage oil too, if I can find them. (Don't know if this makes any difference but) this bottle and packaging have white lettering instead of black and the carton insert is sturdy brown cardboard instead of the white corrugated kind. This is the round bottle with a plain white label, no picture or recipe on it.

I received this scent as a gag gift from a work colleague and am very pleasantly surprised by it. Like AlaskanAngel notes in the review immediately prior this one (excellent review, I agree with all of it), there is more to this fragrance than a simple gourmand egg nog accord. The creamy egg nog scent, with its boozy sweetness, definitely opens the progression, but the base is a delightful nutmeg, cinnamon and woods affair that smells Christmassy, warm and that lingers for ages. I see that this fragrance sells for around $19 online as of this writing. For that price, this fragrance really is quite good. Projection is never more than moderate and the presentation is generic, but what do you expect for this price? I am going to keep this scent around as part of the holiday seasonal selection of fragrances (Burberry London for Men, Eton College by Taylor of Old Bond Street, Cefiro by Floris and Grev by Slumberhouse) that gets taken out and used only during the last two weeks of December. I wouldn't wear it at other times of the year, but it is dandy for this festive season.

I wouldn't say it smells like egg nog. Very sweet and creamy with a subtle bit of spicy/boozy richness... I think it's like a sugar cookie, but with a little more complexity. Poor projection and longevity on the cologne spray like many Demeter fragrances. We'll see if I end up wearing this when winter rolls around. I got my fall/winter-scented-candle fix from their Mulled Cider.

This is a mixture of cinnamon, sweet pastry and christmas berry candle. It's both foody and a little waxy. To me, it does not really smell of egg nog, but is a nice Christmas/winter scent which reminds me of the season. The only negative is the lasting power on me is only 2 hours or less.

Creamy vanilla. I don't smell any of the spice that's supposedly in this fragrance. That being said, it's not offensive, just not really my cup of tea.

I was so excited to get this, creamy + a little spicy is right up my alley. I put it on and my husband said "Ew that smells like a cheap Walmart Christmas candle". 😐 I mean, it kind of does though. A vanilla candle, no egg nog, no spice, and not even a good vanilla at that. It's very synthetic, kind of reminds me of doll heads. Bummer!

Opens with booze and nutmeg. Dries down to a thin spiced milk scent that fills the whole car. It lacks the eggy creaminess but has a plastic like wax smell to compensate

I definitely get that off plastic smell people mention when talking about this house. This scent is very similar to the real deal. InitiaL spray is the most realistic of the whole experience! There you get the actual sugar and cinnamon milk. Literally 5 secs later until about 1 hour in u get that odd plastic smell. Not like Barbie sweet plastic but like 90s makeup weirdness. Turns it very vanilla lotion like. I think I’ll wear this as a skin scent at night. Dry down after about 2hours u get a nice sweet milky skin scent which I enjoy a lot. Very comforting but this just goes too many places for me to love it.

Egg Nog by Demeter is a lovely Christmas fragrance to wear to Christmas parties. The trick is to apply it just before you enter the house party or event while still in the car and while fully dressed. Apply it on your neck or by your ears/hair. Because it doesn't last long (not more than 2-3 hours or less) this scent turns into nothing if you wear it before you go to your destination. So if you want someone to notice it it's best to keep it fresh by either wearing it right before the event or to reapply over and over again by carrying it with you. This is a delicious gourmand fragrance. It smells of boozy sweet eggnog but it also has a lot of other things going on - smells of nutmeg, cinnamon, latte, milk, whipped cream, and vanilla. These are bakery scents which evoke a delicious sort of pie or cake. The liquor of rum and cognac give it a warmth and unisex quality (so guys can wear this as well as gals). Smells of Christmas party food with edible and very pleasant nutmeg cinnamon and milky frothy sweet eggnog. This is also a good vanilla in the dry down. It can almost pass for one of the Christmas themed Bath & Body Works fragrances. It's fun and charming and people's reactions are positive. I have been wearing this fragrance to Christmas parties and will wear it on Christmas Eve/Day. Such a cute fragrance. Merry Christmas

Enormous sillage and lasts for a longgg time! This is a super sweet fragrance which is not really my cup of tea, but it delivers what it promises which is unmistakeable eggnog. I like to layer this with things that undercut the sweetness a bit. I just tried layering this with By the Fireplace which turned out to be a pleasant combo. I would say one or two sprays of this is QUITE sufficient, any more than that and you might knock somebody out.

I have a rollerball and it's a pretty pleasant boozy (in particular I get a lot of cognac) kind of eggnog smell but it lasts all of 5 minutes. Now I'm not normally a person who gripes about performance and I don't expect a lot out of a Demeter and especially not a rollerball but wow. I wish I'd gotten the spray because other reviewers are saying that has decent or good longevity.

I was just going through some of my old perfumes, and came across 4 bottles of Demeter Egg Nog. I wondered why I had so many bottles, so I spritzed it on and waited. Okay, I remember why I loved this. It's spicy, creamy, milky. Very comforting. I'm thinking this Demeter smells very, very similar to Lush Yog Nog, but even better. And a whole heck of a lot cheaper.

I love it. I can't believe I bought it, but the price, at 10 bucks, was too hard to pass. Plain and simple a person would wear this for themselves. Smells like food... like the holidays, like eggnog! So, yeah, if you want to smell like eggnog (nutmeg and vanilla extract, and little bit of booze), like apparently I do, grab some!

Haven't smelt it but so you all know, Demeter products can be purchased through their website. They have excellent customer service. Twice I had questions on a product, received email with answer the same day. Written by a person, not vague round the bush not specific printout like major brands.

What a surprise! This is soft, smooth and comforting. Even hubby likes it and he can’t smell a thing. Eggnog needs cinnamon and this has it. You can wear this perfume year round. I’m starting today! I just want to thank the AlaskanAngel for letting us all know what she found.
