Espresso

This review is for the perfume oil version of the scent. This is actually way better than I thought it would be. I expected a dark roasted, sharp coffee scent - and the dark roasted coffee is definitely in there, but it's not alone in the cup. This is espresso with a drop of vanilla syrup, sugar, cream and a drizzle of cocoa powder. It's rich, dark, sweet and creamy - and totally delicious. Sillage is actually medium (which is rare for a scent from Demeter), but it dries down to a soft but noticeable skin scent. Longevity is pretty great as well. On my skin this perfume oil lasts for about 6-7 hours. I pretty much love this.

First spray is punch of strong photorealistic Espresso, extremely bitter but pleasant. As it dries down it becomes more and more sweet as if someone is slowly adding a vanilla and caramel creamer to it. Perfect coffee fragrance, i just wish it lasted longer.

For those of you who Are Addicted to coffee. This Is the scent For You. I Use This Scent to add to other colognes to ENHANCE their coffee notes. Works well when mixing it with A*MEN PURE COFFEE, or adding a stronger texture to POLO DOUBLE BLACK.

Very realistic Coffee scent. Almost like a Flat white with extra sugar. Sweet enough that you can almost taste it. Doesn't last long like other demeters

Smells like a mocha latte from Starbucks. Doesn't stay too long. But it'll be nice to use to enhance other stuff, like Legend or Pure Malt.

This is a great, photorealistic espresso scent. You get the bitterness of the coffee with a bit of the sweet, creaminess in the espresso. As it evolves on the skin, it gets a lovely cocoa note to it as well that, after a few hours, smells a bit more tootsie roll-ish. Overall, great because I love a coffee scent that actually smells like coffee. Lasted on me for about 7 hours. Disclaimer: I got the oil roll-on, not the spray, so my experience may be a little different. But, with this scent and the other Demeter roll-ons I got, I noticed a similar residual smell among them. It's a kind of stale smell that I can only imagine is coming from the carrier oil since it smelled the same in multiple, vastly different scents. It wasn't super strong, like I could only get a whiff of it when smelling my wrists up close, but it was definitely there.

I expected intense espresso scent from this perfume, and was very excited to try it on when it arrived, but I was disappointed. The coffee note is indeed predominanted and it isn't the only note in the perfume, I detected milk, cream and sugar. So this perfume smell more like a cozy cup of cappuccino or even frappuccino. But somehow it is a nice, warm and cozy smell. I like it, but as I said I expected more. The dry down smells more like chocolate and like many fragrances from The Library of Fragrance (Demeter) it left some oily stains on the skin. The longevity isn't that good (on me) after 30 minutes the coffee smell has gone left only oily chocolate scent on my skin.

really yummy coffee scent, smells like espresso with brown sugar. almost a brown sugar boba scent. i wish it was sooooo much stronger though... and i NEVER say that as a super scent sensitive person. unfortunately this perfume is one of the weakest i've ever smelled, which is a downright shame as it's also one of my favourite smells. also, a bit of a cheap rum note that doesn't dry down with the alcohol which isn't amazing but it is quite pleasant nonetheless. anyway. love this but wish it was way better quality

smells just like a coffee shop! it's not a pure espresso scent, it's more of a blend of coffee, sweet caramel, and foamy milk. the longevity is sadly very short, but this is a fun, cheap gourmand coffee booster

Delicious realistic coffee smell. These don’t last long unfortunately. I’m wishing I bought this in the roller ball to reapply on the go

It doesn't smell like espresso but it smells like chocolate latte and i think it's very realistic, too. Pretty long lasting for Demeter.

Smells like very cheap, thin coffee with a pound of sugar. Very disappointed. I keep trying coffee scents just hoping for a straight coffee or espresso without the sugar, but they all seem somewhat sweet. At least something like TK Coffee Addict though still a big sweet has a satisfying coffee note to go along with it. This might be good for a realtor to spray a lot of right before a showing, then again, maybe not. Brewing a pot would work better. Edit: Akro Awake is the most satisfying non-sweet and non-lactonic bomb. Montale Intense Cafe is sweet, but rich coffee and satisfying, and lastly Al Rehab French Coffee is milky latte. These three are all different to me and not overlapping. Special mention for Coffee Addict and Coffee Break. All of the above I found are worlds better than this any of the Demeter coffee fragrances! None are as cheap, but French Coffee is on the low end in price (but not available in the US).

Not espresso! Coffee with cream, heavy on the sugar. This should be called SWEET LATTE. The Demeter's FRESH BREWED COFFEE smells much more like espresso than this (and also much closer to the opening of Kerosene's FOLLOW). Layering ESPRESSO with FRESH BREWED COFFEE and NITRO COFFEE is the best way to wear them. FRESH BREWED COFFEE is the most realistic and longest lasting of the three. ESPRESSO is gone in a flash. NITRO COFFEE is a strange floral that I assume must be more like coffee blossom.

I'm on the hunt for a photorealistic coffee bean scent, this isn't it. It smells too sweet and syrupy, like Kahlua. If you're looking to smell like Kahlua this is spot-on.

I love coffee, but I don't smell any of my beloved in this fragrance. It smells like a dirty diaper. I was unsure if it was just me so I asked three other people to sniff it. Each one recoiled in terror. Demeter usually is pretty spot on for me, but this one is just awful.

This smelled pretty good when used as an air freshener. However, when used as a cologne, it was no bueno.

smells like swiss miss powdered hot chocolate to me, i honestly don't get coffee at all

I was quite disappointed by this, I put the normal amount of perfume I usually put on & I swear the smell disappeared in a minute. The first initial smell was super weak I couldn’t smell anything so I applied so much it was dripping off my wrists and could barely still smell anything. This one was a total miss for me. The smell wasn’t bad it just smelt like nothing? The tiniest whiff of coffee gone within seconds it felt like. Definitely don’t recommend this brand, I’ve now tried 5 of their fragrances & all were a miss due to the longevity and spillage is just not there with this brand.

I got a bottle of Espresso because I love coffee (and especially espresso) but can no longer tolerate caffeine, not even in smallest doses. Out of sheer desperation I blind ordered Espresso by Demeter. The idea is that if I can't drink coffee, I can at least douse myself in it. Demeter delivers with an authentic note, as usual, in my experience. There is an unmistakable burst of coffee aroma at first spray. It quickly settles into coffee with milk and vanilla. So it lacks the richness and depth of the true espresso, but it's coffee alright. And it satisfies the craving. Unfortunately Espresso doesn't last long, it's gone in 5 minutes. Sillage is also poor. It's not a scent that envelops. But Demeter bottles are so easy to carry around and cheap too so I don't mind reapplying when the craving kicks in.

I add it to Thierry Mugler A*Men. It kills the dominant vanilla-honey notes and masculinises the scent more. By it's self I get stale black coffee. Not pleasant! Two interesting comments from friends... One asked why she smelled an overwhelming smell of nail varnish remover upon entering the room I'd doused myself in the scent. Another friend said they could smell ammonia! It goes without saying that there is a consistent synthetic chemical undertone to Demeter scents. Doesn't stop me trying more of them tho!

Its the smell you get when you walk into Starbucks. Not Dunkin Donuts, Not Tim Hortons or any other coffee shop. Specifically Starbucks. At least that's how my brain perceives it! I enjoy this quite a bit and I like to layer it with scents that have a vanilla base. If you want a true coffee, Fresh Brewed Coffee could be more to your liking. I love them both for layering with other things.

A typical demeter, complete shite for performance, but I still find this to be one of the better coffee scents on the fragrance market. Smells of rich brew with cream and sugar(while it lasts). The coffee note combines nicely with Givenchy Pi or Boclet Ylang. ✨

I have purchased Espresso Cologne Spray 1 Oz from Fragrancx. It is very weak and not smell like coffee or espresso at all. It just like very creamy latte and very weak. You have to spry many times to be smelled.

Very sweet coffee scent, definitely not to be worn on its own. I layering it with azzaro wanted by night, it added a great sweet coffee note that went well with the cinnamon of the azzaro.

Really reminds me of the Ferrero Pocket Coffee chocolates! Wouldn't necessarily call it espresso, but it's very pleasant, especially for layering.

This is not an espresso smell. A cappuccino one, rather. Very sweet but also exhilarating.
