Hawaiian Vanilla

I like it! It's warm and has some freshness to it, on my skin there's a distinct sweet orange or tangerine note too. It can develop a bit of a tropical sunscreen smell but in a good way.

Recently changed my vote on this from "OK" to "Like" after giving it another try. I got a bottle free with an order and found it too tropical and beachy feeling for my tastes the first time I wore it, but now I'm getting a lot more vanilla and a lot less "Hawaiian" from it, and I'm surprising myself by going back to it again and again. It's still a vanilla infused with tropical flavors, to be sure- I still get pineapple and coconut along with it, but mostly as a bright burst in the opening now, followed by a cozy and gourmand-feeling vanilla. Where I got a suntan-lotion vibe from this fragrance the first time I tried it, now I would describe it more like pineapple upside-down cake or some similar dessert. It's not exactly the kind of vanilla I'd typically choose, but it's still vanilla- more so than I could appreciate at first!- and I'm glad I gave it a second chance. Something a little out of character is good for us sometimes. I would actually call this a strong like now. It's reminding me how much I really do dearly love vanilla fragrances when all is said and done.

I think this does have some Gardenia in there. I actually do like it. I am surprised it has several negative reviews. Its not my favorite but I think it's nice. it should read more like Hawaiian flowers + Vanilla. That seems to be more true on my skin. All in all it works great with my chemistry as all the Demeter frag. do.

A nice tropical vanilla. Think car freshener vanillaroma with suntan lotion. I don't know if I detect coconut or gardenia or whatever, but there is "something" other than vanilla. I like it, but not enough to buy, given my already extensive collection of vanilla perfumes.

Sweet and fresh vanilla. It as a slightly tropical vibe, but I cannot say where this comes from as I can't sense any coconut, sunscreen or tropical flowers. But there is something in it that makes it a summer vanilla. Sadly almost zero staying power or projection.

Pleasant. Not very special. At first, it's hand sanitizer-adjacent. After it dries, it's quite powdery and soft. Lingers for a few hours. Good base layer for something fruity or floral. Summer only!!!

I received this as a gift in a swap. Thx M!! This is a tropical vanilla fragrance... Does it's name justice: Hawaiian Vanilla. I don't know about the stayingpower yet, but it's a cute & cosy scent!

"Tropical" vanilla is definitely the best way to describe this fragrance. Kind of a pina-colada vibe (but not a boozy one) along with the vanilla. I could smell coconut right away. Definitely a bit evocative of suntan lotion, too. I received this as a free gift with an order, and while it's pleasant enough, I don't think I would buy this one. It's just not the flavor combination I'm looking for. I prefer Demeter's Sunshine, which is an almost pure vanilla scent that skips the tropical vibe. Demeter is still quickly becoming one of my favorite houses currently as I've experienced great customer service from them!

It's a bit "synthetic" for a vanilla, it's also a bit lightweight, tart and sweet. Coconut, slight blasm & pineapple sauce. Air freshener vibes too. Bad longevity and sillage. I also find it nauseating to wear. It would make a good a shoe sprayer.

It's a little powdery and sweet for me but I don't hate it. It's thankfully light and lasts a reasonable amount of time for a Demeter. I could see using this for layering.

I loved this in college. It's ok for a young person, but there are MUCH better, more sophisticated beachy/vanilla scents out there.

Okay, so...this was a huge disappointment. When I tested the sample on the blotter and on my skin, this smelled exactly like a mall in Hawaii. Rich, tangy sweetness of pineapples with cosmetic vanilla and a hint of coconut! Single note yet so multi-dimensional! And as someone who has familial ties with Hawaii, I took this one home. But when I wore it fresh out of the box, this almost smelled like a cheap air freshener...or I guess for me I smelled tobacco smoke. Like a heavily-scented car with some smokers in it. I’m not giving up on this though! I suppose this one needs some maceration since the sample, which was almost empty, smelled so rich and creamy compared to this screechy, bitter mess. I’ll be back with another review in a few weeks or so...let’s see if I actually wasted my money or not. Edit: Resold. Unfortunately the dry down didn’t develop much from the waxy, car freshener-type vanilla. I really liked the fruity opening though. I guess my habit of blind-buying vanilla perfumes has to go on a vacation for the time being...

So I bought this a long with the Demeter Jasmine fragrance which I love and thought maybe I should try something different. This scent smells extremely sweet and literally like pineapple and vanilla. I use it on my linens and plan on wearing it in the spring so I can get rid of the bottle. It's not my favorite and it's a little too dry for me. I will not purchase this again. Also, I think Vanilla Fields smells 10x better than this perfume. I can stomach Vanilla fields.

I was imagine a little more fresh vanilla but this was too sweet and it gaves me headache. I thought this is a little similar to lingering scent of Midnight fantasy by Britney spears. This isn't simple vanilla to me.

Great for layering under your fragrance if it has a vanilla note in it and you want to give it a boost, works well when layered with Invictus Victory; other than that, abnoxiously strong vanilla

What a total disappointment! I was hoping for a sweet vanilla smell and instead got a very strong flowery gardenia scent with only a tad of vanilla mixed in. I hate floral scents!

Started out so pretty and promising, but dried down within a few minutes to an unpleasant waxy musk smell.

Smells like creamsicle ice cream. Sweet vanilla with a hint of orange and pineapple. I guess that’s where Hawaii comes in. Not a true vanilla scent, but light and pleasant. Lasts 6+ hours on my skin on a warm day.

Whomever said it smelled like Vanilla Fields, thank you !! I smelled HV today and knew I had smelled something similar but could not figure out what !!! Vanilla Fields. ;)

Getting topical sunscreen vibes from this, in a subtle way. Hints of coconut and topical flowers with a vanilla base. Great summer smell. Doesn’t last very long on me.
