Heliotrope

This is a pretty realistic heliotrope for the price. As with any Demeter fragrance, it’s a given that it has poor longevity. Personally, I don’t mind reapplying since it’s so inexpensive. Heliotrope is one of my favorite flowers and is just so lovely layered or on its own.

If you have ever put your nose to a heliotrope flower this is what it smells like. My mother had a garden when I was little and she grew heliotrope. This is a shrub flower that smells like vanilla. There's more going on in this fragrance with notes that are not listed like citrus, vanilla, almond, powder notes and a green note. This is an outdoorsy greenhouse smell, not a floral shop scent. It's very natural and strong so it's better to apply it as a dab on. I have the spray but I deliberately removed the nozzle and spray and made it into a dab on bottle instead. This smells very sweet and almost gourmand. It has vanilla! Really good vanilla. It's a spring time floral fragrance. I wear this in the middle of the day when I'm in a cool climate controlled air conditioned building where the heliotrope smell wafts into the air. It's kind of mature but not old lady ish however I do remember smelling this at the senior citizen home where I performed about a month ago as Marilyn Monroe. This is a heliotrope and vanilla with powder. It's motherly, sweet and womanly.

Heliotrope is my all time favorite flower. It has a distinct scent but it can be mistaken for lavender especially because they're both similar looking shrubs. Heliotrope has been used as an ingredient in formulas for perfumes since Guerlain's masterpiece L'Heure Bleue. This has a lot of heliotrope in it so it's rather strong and better suited to air freshner/room spray/aroma therapy in your home. However one spritz sends me to Heliotrope Heaven and I spritz this once on my blouse or collarbone. Sweet and spicy at the same time. Beautiful and very realistic to actual heliotrope. It doesn't last longer than 35 minutes but I reapply throughout the day/night and I have the smaller bottle that I can put into my handbag. Affordable on Amazon.com and smells really nice if you're into floral fragrances.

Soft and light - my husband always gets closer to me for a sniff when I'm wearing this. I like to layer with other fragrances as well to make a customized blend.
