Honey

As you can see by my username this note is very important to me. I have tried many different honey scented fragrance products and none came even close to achieving the level of realism Demeter has achieved here. No powders, no florals that don't fit just the scent of pollen mixed with the bees magic. I don't know how if they did a molecule analysis of real wildflower honey but they nailed it. It isn't overbearingly sweet and does not really replicate the smell of honey you would have up close but more the smell that would fill the room when making fresh honey. Longevity is surprisingly high for a cologne which employs relatively fleeting notes (6 hrs). Price is definitely worth the money with this one. Can also be layered with other white or yellow florals like Honeysuckle to make it a little bit lighter/seductive.

I’m fairly new to Demeter but I love the idea that you pick a note you love and layer with your favorites. I have the honey and the honeysuckle. The honey is like a bottle of honey, straight from the bear. However, when I spray it on over other perfumes it tends to cancel them out? This has he never happened. Either I go nose-blind, or it’s just sucked up all the sent (specifically Tokyomilk Honey and the Moon, Zoologist Bee or Marc Jacobs Daisy). I’ll try putting it on first next time. I’ve also had good luck spraying all over (at this price point, go in) and the putting on lotion. Lasted all day.

Wow this one is very long lasting on me for some reason, and my skin tends to eat up most scents. This is a great deal! Also really smells like honey in the sweet and sticky sense without the florals. I also have marc Jacob's honey and kim k pure honey. Those both have the smell of honey to me (though a lot of people can't detect it) but there are definitely flowers mixed in. This is just straight honey! I love it. I don't smell any floral at all in this one, but I see the other reviews are saying that so idk LOL our noses are different I guess.

This is one of the best Demeters, imo. First of all, I’ve never bought a frag from them that has lasted as long as Honey. I could still smell the dry down on me after I took a shower and had already worn it for over 8 hours. I love the scent itself as well—it’s exactly how honey tastes but with a little bit of a floral touch, very feminine and sweet. It’s also fun to layer with other florals and tea fragrances (my personal favorite combo is with Demeter Green Tea), but can still be worn on its own.

I was a tad bit hesitant that it'd smell too floral, but I'm glad I went again & got it anyway because it's NOT in the least bit just pure honey scent!! Ever so seductive in the sweetest sense, easy to layer with a variety of others & so I also bought the matching lotion. It's silage also gives it that sensual feel as it stays close to the skin but lightly projects.. If you're considering it, go ahead & buy it. You won't regret it!

All I get from this is pure honey. Nothing synthetic, no florals. In my top 5 Demeter scents and in the spring and summer I wear this every day! As mentioned in another review, it also pairs really nicely with so many other Demeter fragrances. Amber, Ambergris, Wildflowers, Beeswax. Bonfire may be the best combo, and also makes a great fall/winter scent.

Nice. Not a cloying or creamy honey scent, but a floral one. Still pretty damn sweet, though. Lovely, but it's reallyyyy short lived,,, SIGH! Like, I'm talking maybe 30 minutes of just the scent, and then it just devolves into a sweet layer on skin. It's still enjoyable that way for me. I remain on the hunt for the honey scent of my dreams....

I have Zoologist's Bee, and this is a very good dupe. It opens floral and dries down into a luscious honey scent. Very light sillage, however, but I like to layer this with Demeter's Condensed Milk and I smell sweet all over. If you like honey and light florals you'll like this.

If Hedonist and Miel de Bois are at one end of the honey spectrum, this is the goody-two-shoes at the other end. I absolutely adore this scent. Light and true with a hint of clover, a lot like Prairie Nymph but better. Everything a honey scent should be. Two thumbs way up.

Yep, it's honey alright. Gorgeous. Hot tip: layer with Demeter's Russian Leather -irresistibly hedonistic... Or so my man says.

An extremely affordable alternative for Zoologist Bee. The performance is actually very decent when compared to it’s price!

This is the closest pure honey fragrance I can find. I pair it with the VS Honey body spray and it is "m-wuah!"

This is lovely. I layer it with Demeter Jasmine or other no so sweet flour scents, or with orange.

I have mixed emotions on this fragrance, on its own I am not a fan, but layer it with some other fragrances and it’s awesome! By itself I can’t really imagine a person wearing this, but it’s good for most situation seeing that its a perfect combination of sweet and floral, as well as being fairly appealing. This smells super powdery, floral and sweet in that order. The light syrupy sweetness comes and goes, leaving you with a very effervescent and bright smell. The powder in this smells very vibrant and reminds me a lot of pollen, but in a good way. For those who have allergies don’t worry because I also have a very bad pollen allergy and this doesn’t set it off. On its own it’s rather feminine and I can imagine a rural girl wearing this. No more than 25 years old Brown, braided hair with freckles and in jean overalls. As she tends to the beehive on her dads farm. While surrounded by a field of tall grass and wildflowers. The projection on this is very mild, but longevity on clothes is pretty solid. It lasts about 5 hours, which is more than most people get with this. It’s perfect for year round use but due to its bright and light nature it’s best in spring. I love layering this fragrance but by far my favorite layer for this is Nishane’s wulong cha. Since Wulong cha is somewhat boring and only good for warmer months I layer this ontop and it not only makes it more unique but also sweeter, and therefore more versatile for year round use. The fragrance changes when with the right partner and makes it less floral and powdery and more like warm honey dipped in a cup of tea. I really enjoy it. It’s not super mas appealing because on its own the powdery and floral notes could be a bit jarring. On their own and somewhat nauseating to some. On its own 6/10 Layered 9/10

I am new to Demeter fragrances (only my second review on Fragrantica) and I've been testing them out for the past 3 weeks. I have been on the hunt for a Honey fragrance because I am almost out of my favorite limited edition honey-fragrance MAC Creations Hue: Naked Honey. I would categorize Demeter's Honey as a floral gourmand. Demeter's Honey is one if my top favorite fragrances from Demeter. It opens up very sweet, a tiny bit synthetic (from the alcohol) but this fades fast. The longer I wear this, a slight creaminess comes through which I love (this is where I begin to feel the similarity to MAC Naked Honey). A white floral peeks through making it light, a bit floral. Then the honey fades a little more (unfortunately) as the floral becomes more dominant. I am not a floral lover as most of them give me a headache. The lasting power isn't very good and I have to reapply more than I'd like to. There isn't much depth to it, it's very simple and easy. My new obsession is mixing Demeter's fragrances! Honey pairs well with Demeter's Patchouli. It also pairs well with Demeter's Sandalwood. Mixing these gives Honey a more earthy/woodsy note to such a gourmand/sweet fragrance. Or should i say mixing honey into Patchouli and Sandalwood gives them a lovely sweetness. Also, if you mix the fragrances, they seems to last longer than on their own.

Strong honey smell, with some florals (which kinda makes sense? Honey is like a byproduct of flowers...) It's pretty feminine to me, but it's very long lasting. The spray is a little oily, but for the price this is excellent stuff. This would probably work really well layered with another scent, because it's pretty one note. I used to layer it with Glossier's You, for an extremely sweet, warm smell. It's not a 100% accurate honey smell, but at this price it's worth it.

Smells. Like. Honey. That's it. Warm, rich, and sweet. No powder, no flowers, no pollen. Just honey. Synthetic at first splash/spritz, but within moments it'll mellow into a natural golden aroma you can nearly taste. Sillage and longevity are significantly better than Demeter's average. (I actually prefer the subtlety of Demeter's Beeswax, with its touches of blossoms and pollen. That said, if you want a straightforward honey scent, stick with Honey.)

I don’t usually go for sweet fragrances, but I am a honey fiend. I think this is a great realistic honey scent, specifically a wildflower honey. The sillage isn’t great and part of me wishes it was a loud honey beast, but it’s also kind of sexy for this to be a secret. At the end of the day it becomes a skin scent. For the price, it’s justifiable to bathe in this and pretend that it’s your pheromones

I adore the scent itself. It's exactly what I wanted from a honey fragrance, specifically the kind of honey note you smell in candles and lotions that are named things like "milk and honey," or "oatmeal and honey." Unfortunately, the longevity and sillage are absolutely dismal on me. I only smell it if I physically press my nose against my wrist, and for less than thirty minutes.

It's honey, but not a very fresh honey. It's sticking in my throat when I smell it and I'm not sure exactly why but I don't want to keep smelling it up close and making myself nauseous. But I think when the weather starts to get a little colder a dab of this behind the ears will be nice to sweeten my heavier nighttime scents, it's just too heavy for summer right now.

This is a pure natural honey scent. It seems very sweet and would probably work better if paired with something else. But not sure what.

DO NOT OVERSPRAY!! this stuff is intense and my nose is still healing from my mistake.

On my skin this opens as a powdery sweet floral but not honey.

TLDR: do not get it you don't like musk. Perfume might need to sit. EDIT: Been two months with this frag and you can tell the first several impressions were literally the worst. I sprayed some for a friend who didn't believe me, and now I look like a crazy person! The perfume changed!? Still not my taste, but sitting in my drawer it somehow became FAR less offensive. The alcohol was a fraction of what it was, the strange oil spot dissapeared, and I could actually smell it in its entirety: an animalic, honey. They're all correct, it smells similar to raw honey. It's not super sweet and the actual honey note is synthetic, but the heavy musk gives it a more realistic, 'raw' vibe. I never thought animalic notes were attractive but it works here. Maybe it'll be even better in another 2 months! IDK but if you hate this frag just let it ferment itself(??) and it might work out. Still haven't heard from Demeter tho and im kinda salty about it. I always thought my skin chemistry was relatively neutral. This perfume is how I found out that my skin amplifies musk and turns it into skank. I was reeled in by ALL the reviews, Fragrantica included, touting this as a realistic honey scent. And I have NO idea what everyone else is smelling. I even contacted the company, convinced that my bottle had gone bad. But they never responded to my emails/voicemails, so idk.But I just want to warn you: this is not floral, not fruity, and not honey. I have no idea why Floral is listed as an accord and musk isn't, because musk is ALL I could smell. The website description warns you that this is an animalic scent and they aren't kidding. Also, the blast of alcohol on every spritz is insane. As in my housemates thought I was using expired BBW hand sanitizer. I waited for the alcohol to disperse and I got a slightly-sweet wet-animal musk and a gross oily spot that my skin wouldn't absorb?? Eventually became a honey-ish skin scent after I scrubbed that strange messy oil from my wrists. I tested 5 times to the same result. Never had a perfume perform so badly before. Literal Frebreeze is better than that. But again, can't seem to reach Demeter about it and there's no batch number so I'll never know if my bottle went bad. Just be careful ordering from Demeter: if you have a bad experience you won't get answers about it and trust the site description instead of reviews.

I remember buying this as a freshman, with her own money for the first time, and wearing it with Demeter's Earl Grey Tea. Sigh... Sadly, I find that Honey is just *too* sharp, too sweet, too artificial to wear on its own. The bottle has gone untouched on my dresser for close to a decade now and smelling it this morning just brought about those same thoughts. Perhaps if I peruse these reviews I'll find a combination that can make it palatable. Otherwise, I think I'll need to bin it.

For me this one is too creamy. It has it s own fragrance world, but it is not my taste.

1 drop of Ethyl Phenyl Acetate 10% in 800ml 4711 you get something better than this well presented overpriced dilluted Ethyl Phenyl Acetate

My search for the perfect honey scent is over - THIS is it! This is not the synthetic honey note often found in perfumes. This is not honey from the honey bear bottles. This is pure, hyper-realistic wildflower honey: raw, resinous honey (the type that crystallizes in a glass jar), with very light/indistinct florals mixed in (think honeysuckle + jasmine). The florals are faint, but definitely there - and they prevent the honey note from being too sickly sweet. It's such a beautiful, well-balanced blend. To me, it actually has a hint of the super sweet orange blossoms I used to smell growing up (NOT neroli, just the orange blossom: no greenery of any kind, nothing relating to the tree or leaves... just the pure, sweet, simple floral nectar of the blossom itself. The best part: all notes STAY when wearing this fragrance! So many times an opening note is beautiful but fleeting - but in this perfume, they're not going anywhere. I keep checking my arm and even after a couple of hours, all the notes are still there! 10/10, true-to-life, perfect for spring, great for pairing, full-bottle-worthy!

Just received Beeswax and Honey from Demeter in the mail as I am searching for the perfect honey/beeswax scent. I already reviewed Beeswax and I am sad to say that my feelings for Beeswax are mirrored in my feelings for Honey. They both miss the mark, perhaps Beeswax is a bit more far off but I feel that Honey is just not right. It's initial spray was overwhelmingly synthetic but it has settled a bit and it is beginning to ooze more of a natural sweetness. I do feel though that the base of the fragrance is just too round and toffee-like for my tastes. Its overall texture, I would say, is a hardening drop of wax that has a powdery touch. It is both chewy and a touch powdery. I see why some people find this honey to be accurate but it isn't what I was hoping for.

My search for a pure honey fragrance led me to Honey by Demeter. I'm so happy to say that this smells like honey made of wildflowers. Actually better than I hoped for. Not too sweet or artificial smelling. With some beeswax. And a delicious citrussy tartness. To me this is just like natural honey. I can hear the bees buzzing among the flowers. I can see a clear blue sky and feel the sunshine on my skin when I wear this. Carefree happiness in a bottle. Surprisingly complex for what it is. But subtle enough to make it perfect for layering with fragrances that need a honey boost. Decent staying power on the clothes.

Got another bottle because i couldn't stop thinking about her... blends with my skin so nice & smells like real honey. i like to layer it with my perfume oil that smells kinda like the metaphysical shop. Smelling this on my wrist throughout the day just calms me down. I get so angry sometimes and i feel out of control. Some guy ran through an all way stop last week and I just kept wishing I could drag him out of his car and beat him. When I wear this it just calms me down. Gonna re-rate it a 9/10 deducting the 10th pt because the longevity could be better

This is quite a dirty honey, in the best possible way. It has a very sensual and intimate vibe that reminds me of Tabu. It is floral in a way, but that doesn't make it an exclusively feminine scent. Indeed I am a man and I wear it just fine. It is very sexy without being slutty, it is dirty without being grubby, natural and organic smelling without being hippy or unrefined. I should inmagine layering this over/under other more complex compositions will be an interesting experience and bring out interesting qualities in these.

I was afraid to try this, so many things claim to smell like 'Honey', but what they really mean is cloyingly sweet flowers with a powder note. I shouldn't have been. This is very much a true raw honey scent. Smells sexy as all get-out on man or woman. A touch powdery on the drydown and lightly floral on the opening, this pairs very naturally with orange blossom/neroli based scents.

This was my favourite perfume in high school because I wanted to smell like a bee. No one else ever told me specifically that i smelled like a bee but I liked to imagine that I did. Would love to get another bottle of this as I remember it smelling like a bee And I'm kind of soft and fuzzy like a bee (I don't shave my legs) so I think it is pretty fitting all round. Yummy 8/10

I adore this - it smells like rich, dark wildflower honey, not too sweet but absolutely delicious. Unfortunately it's quite weak so frequent reapplication is needed, but I think it pairs beautifully with jasmine or other white flowers. Makes you smell golden.

a bit synthetic, but realistic. very sweet. a must have if you love gourmands! I don't wear it often but its cute.

I love this scent, I layer it over Kim Kardashians Pure Honey. And a touch of orange blossom behind the neck.

Eh.. Not really life-like and has this musky tone that I don't care for. It's not bad though.
