Lavender Martini

This is actually the very first Demeter fragrance I ever tried (thanks to a wonderful fragrantican who gifted me a sample <3). Although I am not really familiar with this brand, I like some of the concepts behind their fragrances, and I like how they never take themselves too seriously :) Anyhow, Lavender Martini in fact smells just like a real Martini, very genuine and surprisingly good quality. I smell mostly citrus, with a lot of vodka, and a nice lavender background. The opening is quite alcoholy, but on the whole, this scent is actually strangely refreshing – it smells very sharp and clean. My boyfriend compared it to a lemon-scented washing up liquid, and I can totally see where he is coming from – the drydown of Lavender Martini is indeed a little soapy, very lemony, with that certain 'fresh laundry' vibe. Personally, I am not picking up on any sweet notes, which is a bit of a shame. Overall, a very interesting scent. I think it would work well on a really hot day (not that we ever get these here in England), thanks to its incredibly refreshing quality. ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

Got the Lavender Martini as a free gift in a recent order from Demeter. Nice and clean scent. To me, after a very brief blast of alcohol, it starts off smelling like lemon-lime soda. Then after 15-20 minutes it gradually slides into a scent that reminds me of the little bars of soap in a motel room (you know the ones - the ones that end up in your suitcase before you checkout, and you never use).

Got this as a freebie with my recent order, and I really like it! A sweet and soft lavender. I personally don't get any vodka/alcohol notes (which I'm sure I'd be disappointed about if I enjoyed those, but I usually don't, so this isn't a complaint from me lol)

I got plain lavender instead of Lavender Martini when I ordered a sample--not sure if they discontinued this or it was a mistake? The tester I got was a very weak generic lavender scent, I could have used essential oil and it would've had the same effect. I was excited to try the martini variation :(

I have never tried a lavender martini, but as I love the taste of lavender-flavored anything, (especially lavender honey!) I'm sure it's a cocktail I would enjoy. So sure, in fact that I was sure I would enjoy the fragrance of one, based on the notes. (excluding the vodka-I hoped that would be undetectable, or at least short-lived). My imagination was filled with delicious, honey-sweet, yet clean, feminine, herbal lavender swirls of scent, and I couldn't wait to receive, and wear this unusual, beautiful-I-was-sure, fragrance. For the first five minutes, I smelled nothing but alcohol. (great). As this dried, I began to smell lavender...maybe...and a sort of light, generic, "perfumey" background. It smelled familiar as well, and I soon realized it smelled exactly like Avon Mark's Pure. I purchased Pure last year based on my love for the smell of Ivory soap, and haven't worn it more than twice. :/ LM smells clean, and sharp, with a tiny hint of sweet. It is pleasant. I don't dislike it, but is not what I imagined it would be. My lavender-hued anticipation turned into a bright, ivory-white actuality. Haha :) If you like the discontinued Pure, or would like to try it, yet can't find it, this is a close, practically identical cousin.

I will be placing this one among one of most interesting Demeter experiences so far. In short, it smells like lavener martini:) However, it does not smell of booze. I mean, alcohol is not the first association that somes into my mind. You can spray it on yourself without thinking that people will take you for a person with some sort of alcohol problem. The lavender note is dominating. I dont get much of the sweet notes, unfortunately. No honey or sugar for me! I dont know whether this is because of my skin chemistry, but I get a lot of soapy notes in the later stage as well. Never the less, Demeter surprised me again:)

got it as a freebie with my order and i’m pretty thankful that i didn’t pay any money for this, lol. i don’t particularly get lavender or any sort of vodka scent from it — instead i get pure public restroom soap, to a strangely accurate degree. the exact sort of cleaning solution/hand soap that i have smelled in airport and university bathrooms. so i am impressed by that! but i can’t see myself wearing this, unfortunately. not bad, but i can’t get rid of my bathroom association with this scent.

Blind Buy. Nice juicy spritzy lavender and sweet liquor dry down. Neither is dominant which is a nice touch! Surprisingly lasts a bit longer than most Demeters (OK- maybe about an hour ; which is long by Demeter's standards!). Happy afternoon cocktail scent!

I love that the lavender is so pronounced but this fragrance is very synthetic almost plastic-like. I am not sure if I want to keep it just yet. Maybe I'll give it a try again in cooler weather and see what develops.
