Leather

I like this one, it's leather and yeah leather tanning chemicals and also some kind of herbal bitters. Trying it on in the colder weather it does seem more like something preserved and medicinal. But if I wear it on a hot day when I'd start sweating, then it's this much nicer leather with some dirt and fresh herbs. This is a summer one, Zoologist's Rhinoceros is a winter one! (Rhino also has a sweetness that this doesn't - I wonder if there are 'wintery' ones without that that I'd like, or 'summery' ones with it?) Also - it's very strong - a little bit of this and a lot of Demeter's 'Tomato' create an interesting effect together.

I looking for this wanting a basic, essential leather to 'bump up' the LQ (leather quotient) of some of my other frags and this one was a win for its simplicity! Whereas Riding Crop is more of a black patent leather, Saddle an oiled soapy leather, and Russian Leather has florals, this one sticks to its guns. Try layering it over one of those subpar ouds you bought a couple years ago and see what you get? Or man-up one of those sticky sweet messterpieces. (we've been Bomb-barded with A Million of em, lol)

I have this and Demeter Riding Crop -- a fabulous couple's set. This one is the slightly more masculine of the two. Both smell like expensive leather gloves or the interior of a shockingly expensive car, and all the other leather stuff that others have mentioned. I find them both somewhat aquatic, and they carry aspects of what rain in the city is like. Both are very, very sexy. Some of my favorites (top 5, maybe) from the brand, and I've been through nearly the entire library.

This smells as though you have just plopped yourself down , after a long day, into your favorite overstuffed leather chair. You can feel the initial soft whoosh of scented air as you depress the cushions and let the leather cradle you.

Watch out! Out of the sprayer it smells fish-y, like the wafts of the escalator in the stores ‘Kaufhof’ or ‘Karstadt’ here in Germany – a synthetic, industrial fish. So I'd strongly recommend to not spray this scent on clothes / items. It needs the warmth of the skin and body to show its real face, which is: Pleasant. And simple. Leather straight from the counter, noone touched it yet. It has a slight oldschool vibe, just so much that you can call it retro instead of vintage. It is a clean leather, washed hands in leather that wore a bouquet of flowers maybe hours ago. Maybe carnation. To the first schoolday of his daughter during the times of Sovjet Union. Now this father is a business man, but a fair one. He still likes to drive his car sitting on a wooden massage plaid. Happy that I baught this.

I bought a trial bottle of this not to wear, but rather to spray in my car. It has a crisp, not-unpleasant chemical smell. It's not really what I think of as a "leather" smell. It's more of a "new car" or "synthetic leather" smell. It reminds me of the smell when you first unseal a new item from its factory plastic packaging. So far, it's been a good car scent, but I will probably go with something else.

I think it reads as leather very well, but I've gotten a second opinion who didn't think it smelled like leather at all lol. Either way, I love it! A clean and intriguing scent that I get a lot of use out of in the colder months. Love it enough that I went ahead and picked up a sample of Leather Crop as well, just to see how it compares!

Yes.....definitely leather.... Open the door of a brand new Bentley or Rolls Royce and a similar scent would tickle your senses. A nice leather bag, leather glove or leather boot smell as nice as this scent. It layers well with tobacco scents

I have not tried New Car by Demeter yet but that's exactly what Leather smells like. Very masculine so I'd recommend layering it with a floral or something lighter if that's not what you're going for. Fresh, clean, and a little metallic

this is a very clean, fresh scent, more on the plasticy synthetic side than a truly animalic leather. i agree with the comment that suggests this has a new car smell, because it is in that area, and it's also got that artificial note, maybe calone? it's weird, i recognize that it's trying to be leather but it's not a really leathery leather. not what i was hoping for

Eww.. This is not leather; it's burnt rubber, or the unwanted factory smell of faux leather...

If you enjoy TF Ombre Leather or Tuscan Leather, Chemical Guys car products, you may want to skip this one. My experience of this scent is not of leather, but metallic, watery, chemicals, then after time a little cedar or fir. For me it smells like touching old metal keys or equipment, then smelling your hands. Maybe it's supposed to smell like the chemicals used to process leather. It does give me a headache and sinus pain.

I got about a dozen little Demeter fragrances and I’m starting to notice a lot of them have this aquatic watermelon synthetic smell at the base. This is especially true for their more unusual smells, like Petrichor or New Car. This one smells a lot like Petrichor: it’s watery, chemical and sweet. I guess it smells like leather too.

This is a far cry from the leather glove, the leather boot or the leather jacket. This is the leather sofa. This smells like walking into a sofa store or test driving a new car. Nice, but too clinical for me. I had hoped for a soft biker jacket/boot leather scent, so this was a disappointment.

This smells like a new pair of raw hide working gloves. Harsh and like whatever synthetic chemical they treat leather with to process it. This smells like where they use raw leather to MAKE leather things, like clothes and furniture.

At first spray it's very pungent and chemical but upon dry down it smells just like leather lasts a while and even after sleeping, I wake up after having sprayed my neck my neck smells like cedarwood.

Hey...i know this is unrelated and not really a reveiw but the poet in me couldnt help thinking "feather" maybe they should come out with one named feather?
