Marshmallow

I gotta say - for something so simple, this is great! As with all Demeter fragrances... you'll need to get past the first 30 seconds of PURE rubbing alcohol. However, the soft sweetness that follows is worth it. Vanillic, fluffy, gentle, but not 'milky' or 'sour' like several other popular Marshmallow-related scents on the market. This one is purely whipped & fluffy toasted-marshmallow-innards. Thankfully, there is no marshmallow PLUS vaguely-perfumed-synthetic-floral-sweetness. Just the sugary good stuff! For additional longevity - spray on clothes!

Yummy! On me it smells like lightly toasted fluffy melting Marshmello's. It's very sweet and gourmand. Nice sillage with this one. I imagine going camping wearing this. It's a fun scent just like all of Demeter scents are. I absolutely love this. Very scrumptious.

I have the oil and it's really sweet warm vanilla caramelized marshmallow. Love wearing it as a bed time scent and can't wait for wearing it in colder weather.

Absolutely smells like a toasted marshmallow- yummy. Upon first spray, it’s a bit intense in an almost candle like way but the dry down is softer.

smell exactly like toasted marshmallows, sweet with hint of smoke. I love to layer it with basic vanilla parfume. Really cheap, i love it.

Smells amazing and very similar to toasted marshmallows, but sillage and longevity are very poor.

BEST MARSHMALLOW PERFUME EVER!

At first this was a little off with the alcohol smell, but once it dried...!!! Okay, so I am *deathly* allergic to artficial vanilla. That being said, I looove gourmand fragrances (sigh...it's a love-hate relationship). I tried this though, because hope springs eternal! It definitely has vanilla in it, but it is a WONDERFUL smell. Totally Delicious! ALMOST as good as going down the marshmallow section in the grocery store (I'm salivating just thinking about it...!). The longer you wear it, the more it evolves into a soft, powdery vanilla. I did get a slight amount of headache pressure, but compared to the violent migraine/barf party that I usually get from artficial vanilla, I am TOTES willing to roll the dice on that very managable level of discomfort. This is what I have been searching for to fulfill that gourmand need in my life. Pink Sugar and all the other gourmand perfumes that hate me can eat a sack of dicks!

super sweet and slightly powdery , didn’t like it at first since at initial spray , it’s sickingly and artificially sweet , but on the dry down it’s sweet and yummy , powdery and light that sits close to the skin. my boyfriends mom said that it smells like a cloud of heaven. i’m guessing the scent stuck to him when i hugged him so it made me feel better about the projection and longevity.

Ohhh yess! This is better than I expected! This has some sort of cooked marshmallow with a hint of grahm cracker to it, the dry down is a nice marshmallowy vanilla scent and I really like this!! Lasts a few hours on my skin and I wish it would last all day but this isnt an EDP so I understand why it doesnt! Loooooooove!

the initial spray is pretty alcohol heavy, but within a few minutes it settles into a nice marshmallow scent. the marshmallow is pretty straight forward, but to me there's a background note reminiscent of maple syrup. really nice, although it doesn't seem to have a ton of staying power

not exactly like marshmallow at all, but it does smell slightly like burnt sugar/caramel, creamy and slightly eggy. like creme brulee. i actually really like it even if it doesnt really live up to its name :) then again my bottle is really old so it could be that too

smells exactly like marshmallows and absolutely lovely for layering but just so, so weak. if you're looking for a marshmallow fragrance this is the purest closest you'll get but you'd need to bathe in it to have any sillage and too much is cloying anyway.

This is very simple, but also quite nice. I agree it is a toasted marshmallow scent. I spray on clothes to make it last a little longer and it is good for layering. Perfect comfort scent for the colder days.

Sweet, powdery marshmallow, very true to the label. Performance is what you'd expect for a Demeter cologne spray. Radiation depends directly on how much you spray, lasts 2 hours. I'd rebuy.

Smells like burnt sugar to me, its warm and cozy, lasts about an hour on my skin, its nice for layering but i wouldn’t sadly repurchase this one

very alcoholic marhsmallow thats slightly roasted. she makes my skin shiny also. i likey but shes very intimate and not at all long lasting

pure sugar but i personally like it, alcohol is pungent at first and the longevity is extremely poor, but thats demeter for ya.

Yummy warm toasted marshmallow. Reminds me of hot chocolate for some reason? Disappears off your skin in 10 minutes.

At first it smelled syrup-y to me, but then the drydown was delightful.

another disappointing blind buy from demeter. all of their perfumes have the same problem for me, they’re way too synthetic and powdery. this one doesn’t smell as bad as cupcake and chocolate chip cookies to me, however, it’s still not a gourmand in my opinion. it smells sweet, in a rotten way. that’s it, literally nothing else edit: i don’t know if they changed the formula since the bottle i had was different

i bought this less than a year ago so i probably have the "new forumula" idk how it may differ. it definitely has a true syrupy sugar smell i was surprised how well it smelled like a marshmallow. however, it does not last at all literally gone in a minute. its a shame because it'd be nice to walk around smelling like syrupy sugar.

Harsh alcohol opening and the perfume last about 30mins, good for around the house, cuddle w/ your love or pick me up.. this isn’t something you wear if you’re looking to get asked “ what are you wearing”? Cute and fun.. my daughter (7) wears them too. I really like how this isn’t made with harsh ingredients either. 8/10

6/10. smells like "a whiff of waffle cone" by imaginary authors but less heavy. more maple syrup than marshmallow, but i like it. it made my skin really irritated and thats never happened before, only with this fragrance. the rest of the brand was fine for me

Doesn't resemble marshmallow to me.. Very much smells like maple syrup. It's still yummy but not quite what I'd describe as marshmallow.

This is very much a burnt marshmallow, not the soft powdery kind. Honestly, Fragrantica ought to distinguish between the two, plain marshmallow vs toasted marshmallow because they create entirely different impressions. It’s annoying to go searching for a marshmallow fragrance expecting something sweet, airy, and powdery, only to be met instead with a smoky/charred effect, its just not my thing. Toasted marshmallow and the marshmallow straight from the bag are NOT interchangeable scents ffs. They allow for the most random notes on this site but still have yet to put the toasted marshmallow scents in their own category, why? I agree with those saying it smells like maple syrup. If you enjoy Delizia di Marshmallow chances are you’ll appreciate this as well. Glad I got a sample of this first, my only blind buy ever was a bottle of Delizia, which occurred only due to all the great reviews and I ended up hating it. Why is it so hard to do an isolated marshmallow scent with no burning smells, rubbery smells, or ambroxan? I don’t get it.

Very simple toasted marshmallow scent. Longevity is poor doesn't last on skin. I paid £15 for this bottle and I think it's not worth the price tag. There are cheaper fragrances out there that have better longevity. I'm going to pass my bottle on to my friends daughter who is 12 it will suit a child better I think. Won't be buying from Demeter again.

Definitely not. I honestly expected a powdery slightly sweet fragrance and ignored the reviews saying this smelled like maple syrup... it smells like maple syrup :(.. they should have called this maple syrup. Idk what to do with the bottle now. Its just sitting in a box in the corner of my room.

Tried this in the store and I’m sad to say I couldn’t smell this at all, not even in the slightest. Walked around, came back and tried to smell it again, nothing. Not on skin, not on clothes. This brand intrigues me and I’m sad this is my first impression of them.

Smells like a boozy caramel. With Demeter it's really hit or miss, as some of their scents really smell atrocious and others are pleasant. This is not the typical marshmallow scent that I was after. It smells like a sweet shot of alcohol.

the smell of alcohol in this is so overpowering you can barely smell the marshmallow at all. the light marshmallow note that is there is nice though its powdery and sweet also it does smell a bit like maple syrup

Just pure alcohol notes with a dash of marshmallow, as if it was in the same vicinity of each other, but never actually melded. Very disappointed.

This smells cheaper than dollar store body spray. Completely synthetic and I don't know what marshmallow they sniffed cause this ain't it

first fragrance that made me gag

I used to love this one A LOT until they changed the formula!!!!! The one that i had smelled like Marshmallow next to bon fire ----- closer to actual marshmallow and smelled so warm and cozy. As soon as i finished, i bought another one and noticed the scent was slightly difference so I started reading then i realized the formula was different from the one that i finished. I left nothing offensive on its official Instagram page but just to express my opinion - pretty much preferred the old one. When i expected their reply, all they did was just simply deleted my comment and no reply or wt so ever. As a big fan of this scent, i was and still am very disappointed. I bought the one that i had with my best friend when he was studying aboard and its a mixture of sentimental value and my love for the scent. The new one smells some sort of artificial cheap handsoap and nothing close to the original. Sorry but i will never purchase it again 1st because of the way they handled the situation, 2nd the new formula smells awful. Luckily i still have the old bottle.

For the first minute this smells like straight up alcohol, but once it’s dried down it settles into a toasted, kind of burnt, marshmallow/vanilla scent with caramel drizzled on the top. I’m actually surprised how caramelly this is since there’s no caramel note in the fragrance. Yeah it’s a marshmallow fragrance, but the caramel I’m perceiving is hard to ignore! (๑_๑) Also I’m not sure if I’m that big of a fan of how burnt this marshmallow is... I lean more towards light, fluffy, airy & powdery fresh out of the bag marshmallows such as Delizia Di Marshmallow by Kyse, What The Fluff by Aspiring Aromas or Cerchi Nell’Acqua’s Angel’s Bread. This is more of a burnt marshmallow, with something caramel-ish about it too This is still an okay fragrance though, and I think I’m gonna let it sit for a while and then revisit it for sure! (*ˊᗜˋ*)

I am READY for a Marshmallow frag to blow me AWAY!!! This is just a light skinscent. I have read that ppl cannot smell it on themselves, but ppl around them have said outloud "I smell Marshmallow!" So, I have the tall little skinny bottle Demeter's site sells for around 8 bucks. It's so light I want to bathe in it, so I just ordered a 4 ounce bottle so I can go ham with it. I did read the review below about the fragrance oil, & just ordered that. I should have it next week & add a comparison below! Natalie N on YT. Update~ Fragrance oil you CAN smell. Nice scent too. I received my large Demeter today. It's just soooo light, almost non existant. Just b/c you apply more, doesn't make it ANY louder, as it does w/ some perfumes. Come on Demeter!! Throw some punch in your fragrances.

Stand Around Creations, "Toasted Marshmallow Oil". $8.00. Smells like Demeter Marshmallow but richer and creamier and better. Pretty decent Silage and Lasts for hours. Great for layering too. Or add a couple drops to your bath water, hair brush or body Lotion when you want that bit of marshmallow fluff sweetness.But very Nice when applying to/with your lotion after a shower but before your perfume. Layers wonderfully. Layering S.A.C Toasted Marshmallow Oil underneath something like Aramaf Italiano Donna, you'll smell like Dolcé & Gabbana Pour Femme Intense. It'll make the fume last longer too. The marshmallow note also smells nice under a white floral like Jessica McClintock, Liz Taylor's Gardenia, Prada Pour Femme.

I love sweet, foodie and playful scents, but unfortunately dreadful migraines prevent me from enjoying most. The Demeter Marshmallow was a pleasant surprise though. It caused me no problems and I quite enjoy it. It smells like sugar, with an indistinguishable warm baking note. This is basically what marshmallows as we know them smell like because actual marshmallow root is rarely used anymore. My only gripe is that, as with many Demeter scents, this doesn't last too long. I love it though and am going to order the full line (Demeter offers lotion, shower gel and perfume roller-ball as well).

I totally agree with the last 2 posters, this isn't just regular marshmallow, it's definitely toasted. It actually reminds me of those gourmet vanilla marshmallows from Whole Foods. What Troop Beverly Hills would toast to make S'mores if they went camping, (along with their Valrhona chocolate and organic vegan graham crackers LOL!) Very nice, comforting scent. Fun to wear outside for compliments or at home by yourself. Spray it on your pillows! Safe to blind-buy as long as you understand you're getting TOASTED vanilla flavored marshmallows.

Definitely toasted. Smokey. Not vanilla type at all. Starts with a burst of alcohol, almost boozy, then settles down to a bitter toasted scent. We never eat toasted marshmallows in Central Europe, so I don’t know how that smells. But this perfume does not smell anything like vanilla. The dry down may be better, but unfortunately I never get to smell it, because this perfume disappears from my skin in an hour. If you want sweet, plain vanilla, go for Creme Anglaise.

Gooey marshmallow. Delicious! I agree with all the previous reviewers. It's toasted, but it smells like the gooey marshmallow center, not the crisp outter layer. I really like it on its own, but I have no doubt it will be great for layering. Longevity is about 4 hours and it's a skin scent on me.

At first spray, it’s a bit alcoholishhh but that part is fleeting. This does not smell like marshmallow in my opinion. If you want that I recommend what the fluff by aspiring aromas... this to me smells more like brown sugar! A great sugar scent!

Maple syrup! so delightful and sweet! but not the fluffy white powdery marshmallow I was expecting. Now I want to eat pancakes with butter and a drizzle of maple syrup...mmm...ok!

I have Demeter's Marshmallow in the oil rollerball format, and it has zero scent. I've had it for a couple of months, hoping for something. Disappointing to say the least.
