Myrrh

Sent shivers down my spine the first time I tried it at Demeter's isle. If I did not know it was myrrh, I would have easily mistaken it for something tasty. Very simple, very nice, not at all chemical. Lasts longer than I expected (Demeter's chockolat-y things didn't last at all). Speaking of layering, I had a curious combination on me when I bought my bottle: myrrh on one wrist, and Hermes Rhubarbe Ecarlate on the other. It was so good that I might actually end up pairing Myrrh with something sweet-and-sour. Overall: a nice surprise from the brand.

This was my first ever cologne in late 2017, so i don’t completely remember its exact smell but I remember i loved it. It had this warm coziness to it, and it really did smell like myrrh- i grew up in a convent and they would always burn myrrh and frankincense near the holidays so it was real nostalgic. The only things i didn’t like that I remember was that it wasn’t really strong and didn’t linger long, but then again i was probably only doing one spray since i didnt know any better lol

True and lovely myrrh, reminds me of Catholic funeral processions. I grew up close to an old cemetery, and watched priests swinging the censer. The fragrance doesn't last long, as others have said. But for a true myrrh scent this can't be beat.

Slightly sweetened, clean soapy myrrh. Generously sprayed, it projects fairly well without being overpowering. Linear and thin as can be expected from a single note fragrance.

Youthfull and feminine sweet scent imo. All I get is Bubblegum smell. No myrrh at all. Low-moderate performance overall.

i don't know about this one. the smell is nice! it's a nice myrrh smell! i like it! but there is something deeply lackluster about this whole perfume, and it's the same thing that i find lackluster about most demeter perfumes, which is that the fragrance feels very weak and short-lived. i would never dissuade anyone from this scent, because again, i find it pleasant, i just ... now, with more experience of different fragrances from the company, i don't know if i'd ever care to spend more money on a demeter perfume.

Okay so this smells soapy and piney not like myrrh at all. It's not even a warm amber-y scent and myrrh is warm, always is. This projects a lot but yeap it smells like a sharp pine toilet cleaner in the opening and less sharp later but still like a piney toilet cleaner throughout kinda like the smell of a restroom. It has a balsamic green element also like fir balsam or something, again not a true myrrh scent. At the drydown it becomes softer not as sharp, and more powdery blue, while the piney element is still there and it's also still soapy. As a Greek I've been around myrrh all my life and it normally smells sweet, kinda like licorice, earthy, woody and balsamic. Real myrrh or even the perfume note has a warm syrupy deep scent that is rich almost nutty. Myrrh is a resinous amber-y product and in perfumes it is like that too, not soapy and piney green. I love it everywhere in perfumes especially in Police Poison Arsenic, the myrrh is sweet and balsamic as it also is in Alien Essence Absolue where the myrrh gives the sweet nutty vibe along with the vanilla which made it so special. Actually the Sawdust perfume by Demeter smells nutty and so if I layer it on the Myrrh fragrance it becomes more tolerable and the piney vibe matches the subtle green element of the Sawdust perfume. So yea total fail for me. I might as well remove the label myrrh and just put one that says "soapy pine harpic"

Lasts about 30 minutes and isn't very strong. Not much else to say about it other than it's disappointingly fleeting.

I got a roller ball of this and wow, I HATED it. Immediate giving away to someone not a fan at all.

A pleasingly warm, sweet myrrh fragrance note with slight citric/lemon-y facet at the top. I say "note" because this really feels like it's just myrrh, and not a full fledged fragrance where myrrh gets top billing because it is in the most prominent position in a constellation of notes. That said, this is a camera ready myrrh without the stringent, medicinal aspects of the bare essential oil. While sweet, Demeter Myrrh is not cloying and lasts a surprisingly long time (especially for the brand). No reason you couldn't wear this on its own, but I think it's best use would be to "layer up" the resin or sweetness quotient on a more complex fragrance that needs a little push to feel complete or distinct. I have tested Demeter's here and there and this one is definitely one of the better ones that I have tried.

I got this today on a recommendation from a friend. I think I’m in love. I’m finding it quite potent, unlike what other reviewers are saying. It’s an ancient smell - like incense or something Cleopatra would have worn. It is not going to be an everyday scent as it’s quite specific and kind of “heavy.” I can see myself using it once a week, though. Yum. I also like their “Morocco” and that, too, is one of their more exotic, heavier fragrances. Their “Frankincense” is also terrific.

A true and potent myrrh. Smells like a Catholic church at Christmastime. Close your eyes while smelling this, and you will find yourself picturing string lights, Christmas trees, and waiting for the fireplace for Santa. A deeply nostalgic and comforting smell.

this actually sucks. myrrh where? more like cheap soap u'd find all messed up in your school bathroom.

This does smell exactly like myrrh, along with the musty a$$. But not in a bad way

I like it but my boyfriend sais it smells like goat poop 👍
