New Car

Not quite like a new car, but quite sweet. A little similar to Demeter's violets. Very much like fresh plastic. It reminds me very much of opening up the packet of a new plastic toy figurine back in my early childhood - that fresh sweet chemical plastic smell. Not unpleasant at all, and I will still give my car a couple of sprays of this to see if it brings out the new car smell. Might hit it with a spray of Tom Ford Ombre Leather as well to hit the fresh leather notes.

much more powdery than i expected. this reminds me of windex, glass cleaner, something faintly artificially floral, baby powder, a scented plastic doll, a very clean public restroom it's not actually unpleasant but it doesn't smell like a new car, or plastic, or leather, and it's far from the range of scents that i enjoy personally

Doesn’t smell like new car at all, a super distinctive smell everyone agrees on. I agree with bigbadbyrnes, “opening up the packet of a new plastic toy figurine” but I think it’s a liiiiittle generous, because I like that smell but I don’t like this scent. This is very sweet and I guess plasticky. Has the sweet chemical smell of Demeter fragrances that I don’t really care for. I use Demeter as hand sanitizers for the pre-k kids I work with, as they like the sweet smell way more than I do. One girl who didn’t like any of the other fragrances did like this one. Another girl characterized it as “juice.”

It opens up almost like a new car....but then pretty quickly turns into a disgustingly strong violet. In this sense, I guess you can say it smells like a new car, but definitely not in the literal sense. I want to make out a plastic association, but the violet is just so strong here. It's either that, or a car that was just cleaned with a flowery scented solution, but it's probably inconsequential given Demeter's frags (particularly the sprays) typically have low performance in general. Pass. If you want an actual new car smell try Fischersund No. 54 by Fischersund.
