Nutmeg Ice Cream

I was sent a sample of this from the very generous Music_luver77 and I have to say, I really enjoyed wearing it! I was craving something comforting and Autumn-like and I figured that this would be perfect and as it turns out, it worked in my favour. Really lovely concoction! Simple, to be sure but I feel like it delivers on the idea of what the name conjures up in your mind. Non-offensive, mild tempered spice with a creamy understated sweetness. I totally get the connection to the "Nutmeg Ice Cream" moniker. It's food-like without being too literal. I tried to wear Kenzo Jungle Elephant and although I appreciated it, I couldn't handle the strong food-like quality that it had. It was just too much for me. I gave my bottle away. This one would be a second cousin, twice removed of Jungle Elephant. Same kind of idea but less savoury, more sweetness and much more subdued in it's approach. If Jungle Elephant could be described as a nuclear bomb, Nutmeg Ice Cream would be a gentle rain. So far, from all of the Demeter fragrances that I've tested, this one is my favourite.

This one is nice! I really love the scent. I can smell the nutmeg and the creaminess from this fragrance. It has a freshness to it instead of a deepness if that makes sense. I would say that is the only negative.

it smells quite nice and it almost reminds me when it dries down of cinnamon toast crunch for some reason, like spiced sweet cereal

A Yankee candle, non-descript and generic. I get neither nutmeg nor ice cream. Pleasant, but not what I expected.

No Demeter, just no! I was seduced by the idea of creamy/spicy scent. I pictured a simple, but nice oriental gourmand. It is simple, alright but not at all nice. The notes described (ice cream, nutmeg and vanilla ) are just not there. This 100% potpourri candle. It is the smell that blasts you in the face as you walk into a Yankee candle store. A generic hodgepodge of synthetic spices and something like popcorn maybe. Hey maybe Yankee Potpourri scent is your thing, and if so, you will LOVE this fragrance. Otherwise, don't be fooled. There is nothing of ice-cream or vanilla here and I don't identify the nutmeg, just some kind mash-up of fake smelling baking spices. It's not particularly sweet. For a Demeter scent, this has quite good staying power unfortunately.

It's cute, quite sweet with hint of spice. Doesn't last too long though
