Red Poppies

The 2nd Demeter scent I've tried and my review is a male point of view. This is a very lovely scent and it seems really unisex. I bought it by reason of the memories from my childhood. My parents live in a small town where (wild) poppies are still in many places,along the roads and in the gardens. This Demeter scent is very close to the smell of that poppies ( the real wild poppies are a bit more acrid, I think). A little bit peppery-like, a little bit sweet but not directly candy-like just fine, a little bit earthy but not dirty while keeps the floral freshness till the drydown. D.R.P for me is a very enjoyable "everyday happy wildflower version" of Hermes Eau de Gentiane :) This scent is simple and relaxing, lasts a couple hours on my skin and doesn't change too much. I like it because of the memories and because of itself :) Try it in Summer, you'll be amazed how pleasant it will!

My daughter's name is Poppy and I just had to try this fragrance. I have never smelled an actual poppy but this is what I imagine it would smell like. It's a little sweet but has a pretty spicy note to it that left me craving more. I'm not a floral fragrance lover but this is completely different than your average floral scent. I agree with the other reviewers that it doesn't last long unfortunately. But Red Poppies is the type of scent I wouldn't mind spraying for touch-ups. In my opinion it almost reminds me of an floral oriental... Very pretty and great for day or night. P.S. I have a sample of Secretions Magnafique and this has absolutely no similarity to it in my opinion. Completely different.

I'm a male and I don't find Red Poppies to be markedly feminine. It has some kind of earthiness that makes it wearable by a man. Also, I found it to have a passionfruit-like tone... you know, that sweet/sour kind of thing. So, it's more of a fruity than a floral scent and reminds me of some kind of soft drink, but still being delicate and elegant like a floral. Being earthy, floral, fruity, sour, sweet, Red Poppies is somewhat complex for a single note fragrance and draws attentions quite a bit. Especially in regions where red poppies aren't common or aren't even known (which is the case where I live). If possible, try wearing it on a moderate weather, closer to cool than to warm. And I advise you to wear it stoically: it's very pleasant, but gives me a headache if overapplied.

Warm citrus and spice — my nose detects primarily lime and clove. Reminiscent of Coca-cola with waaaay less vanilla and sugar. If I'd never seen the label, I'd never have known this fragrance is categorized as a floral.

Could not come to terms with this - it's sweet and not in any way floral, just unidentified flat sweetness for me, not even particularly fresh like a flower could be.
