Rice Paddy

This is the one for me. Freshness and coziness combined, and neither is trivial here. Dewy spring grass topped with milk, toffee and warm cloth. Such a weak longevity is a pity (and relevant for all Demeter perfumes).

Rice Paddy Rice Paddy - one of the few Demeter fragrances that I will actually wear by itself. I get a sesame note - and it could be my imagination but I picture rice in sesame oil- I really like the scent - sweet but savory.

I’m getting some kind of generic applely sweetness like a little girls lip gloss after it starts with a rice opening.

Rice Paddy reminds me of Thai food. I'm definitely getting toasted rice and also what I think is like freshly squeezed lime...? It's not exactly green to me, but neither is it really milky. It's kind of a fresh savory gourmand, I would say. It's not exactly what I expected after reading the reviews, but it's not bad,. ETA: After two hours, it actually has come back. It's still pretty quiet, but up close, it's lovely and savory. It still reminds me of Thai food, but it's much more of a skin scent now.

I compared this to Poesie's Soft (rice) fragrance. Poesie's Soft is a sweeter, softer, skintimate rice. Rice Paddy is a toasted rice that's deeper and there's a savory element to it. It's not steamed rice from the rice cooker and neither is Poesie's but they're both good in their own right. Rice Paddy has better longevity and sillage. I'm still searching for the Steamed Rice fragrance of my dreams. 😅

What water note?, and heavy on alcoholic stench so much so they should've called it alcohol for a rice cooking. Very sharp and strong longevity not that it matters.

VERY green. Almost Christmas-y in a weird way? Smells vaguely like pine in a way that's kind of reminiscent of a car air freshener.

Smells like coconut,without the creaminess,and smells flaky and nutty,don't really smell an aquatic note,what can i say...just very nutty,does it smell like an actual rice paddy? Nope,the real thing is a bit earthy,green and "hazy",demeter really should make their fragrances last longer and have higher concentration,a perfume oil has so less sillage,can't imagine how the edc would smell Packaging:2 Bottle:1 Scent:6 Sillage:6 Longevity:7 Unique:4 Repurchase? Nope

Honestly, I have expected this "Rice Paddy" to be something better than this. I'm an asian, and I'm from asia. I know what rice paddy smells like. I was very excited about this fragrance but when I firstly tried this on I knew it was the worst demeter fragrance I've ever tried so far. To me, it doesn't smell anything like rice at all.. it has too much of "nutty" taste in it. Demeter's Rice Paddy smells exactly like popcorn.

Ewww. I don’t know what’s going on here, but I don’t like it, and I didn’t have the patience to keep it on long enough to find out. I love the smell of rice, love green notes, love freshies, but this was not that. It’s like some burnt scrambled eggs that have been left to soak in the pan.

Clean, fresh, detergent/laundry. Even after over-applying, it almost immediately disappears. Minimal projection of soapy summer grass. Slight tang of soil and musty moss. Not offensive, just weak, generic, and mediocre. Not worth your time.

I beg you to never blind buy Rice Fields online without smelling it irl. It is sharply sweet with some bitterness. I talked about it with a consultant, she also didn't understand who would wear this and why and that no one buys it 0/10

This is nothing like “Santal Basmati” :( I love santal basmati from affinessence and thiught that I will love all rice perfumes. I paid special shipping to get this one, it is a disaster. I don’t like it. Headache inducing.

I don’t notice any watery or green notes in this. It’s unexpectedly sweet and creamy, more in line with a mochi dessert or sweet nigori sake than a rice paddy. I’d classify this as a gourmand. Other commenters have noted a similarity to coconut, and that stood out for me as well: coconut, sweet milk, mochi, some vanilla. If you’re looking for the experience of standing ankle-deep in a rice paddy, look elsewhere.

Does it actually smell like rice? No. It smells nutty and a bit like coconut husk. Honestly a bit of jasmine and I'm set. I like it anyway. Like most Demeter fragrances, it's gone much too quickly, but honestly it's fine with me. With Demeter I typically purchase them as sample sizes for layering.

Underrated demeter scent!! opens with a fresh citrusy note-yuzu or grapefruit maybe? and dries into a steamed rice scent, like the steam that comes off a fresh pot of cooked rice. delicious and cozy, i love it.

Nooo there is something that could be so lovely here but its all buried under a very LOUD and SHARP green note!!! And that green note is like cut grass, which ik could be some people's jam, but not mine :(

VERY green with a nutty, creamy undertone. so good. i really love savory perfumes and this is PERFECT. not food-y and not sweet.
