Swimming Pool

Honestly when I looked at the reviews for this perfume I was hopeful because I was expecting a chlorine or aquatic scent like many people had wrote about in their reviews. What I got Instead was the smell of sunscreen and a fresh and light floral scent. In my opinion, it gives more “outdoor pool area” rather than “indoor pool area” to me because of this sunscreen smell. Overall it is a great daytime scent perfect for summer and spring!

I've had this one since last summer and I absolutely love it! Not a drop of chlorine in sight!! It smells like your skin smells after you've gone into a pool and then spread your towel on the ground to soak up some sun. Aquatic, yes but also slightly sweet. The only drawback,as with all Demeters, it doesn't last very long.

I love this scent and used up a decant of it. I'm a swimmer and love anything swimming related.

I bought this perfume online, because I wanted to try something by Demeter and this was the cheapest fragrance I could find in terms of the price. I've read plenty of reviews on what a mixed bag this brand is before my purchase, so I was prepared for this being a failure. Yet, in the end I was pleasantly surprised. Swimming Pool is eccentric and simple, but interesting to the point of being intriguing. To me, it smells like a medium-light, slightly floral synthetic that has a strong creamy-fatty component (aldehydes ?). The associations I get are plastic furniture – as you would often find by a poolside – and white sun screen. I don't get any aquatic components, I don’t get any freshness. However, what I get is a faint ray of sunlight, that is not too yellowy-floral. Overall, Swimming Pool does its job of evoking memories of childhood, summer and playing by the pool. Personally, I would have loved a drop of chlorine in the composition to be able to connect it with images of the actual water, but that probably was considered too bold a move. I don’t regret the purchase in the slightest and probably will consider re-buying after it's used up. However, I think that my 30ml bottle is probably going to a last me for the next decade, as Swimming Pool is a very specific scent that I can only imagine wearing on a summer day when I’m feeling particularly playful and nostalgic. I consider Swimming Pool a very unisex fragrance that stays close to the skin. On me, it lasted a good four hours.

Not what I expected based on some reviews - it's very clean, somewhat fresh at first. Slightly floral and synthetic like a nice-smelling sunscreen or freshly-washed beach towel. I do not smell the pool whatsoever, this is more aquatic-adjacent, which is okay. Online people were promoting this as a 'photorealistic water park' smell which is NOT it, if that's what you're looking for. I read that some people smell plastic notes which I do not pick up either - something in it is a bit sharp at first, however. I do like it and can't wait to wear it out for the summer. Not offensive at all to me, leans feminine. The dry down I'm getting is pretty intoxicating on me, and the more it settles the more I like it. Can't see this lasting very long, but I'm happy to add it to my collection. :)

this smells like demeter "snow"'s drydown with a faint trace of sunscreen mixed in. not a bad scent, but if you have one you don't need the other.

Smells exactly like a beach ball left in the sun and then sprayed with Light Blue. The plastic note is very intriguing and perfect for summer.

Got the oil roll-on as a free gift with the rest of my Demeter order. For some reason it feels a bit jasmine-y to me. Very fresh and clean, but I was kind of hoping it’d smell a bit more like chlorine or even salt. You know, like an actual swimming pool. Pleasant but pretty boring. But I guess that makes it great for everyday wear or a backup. Not long lasting tho which is a bummer.

On first blast, Swimming Pool does smell like a swimming pool. But even Demeter wouldn’t leave you smelling like chlorine all day, so it does quickly develop into a beachy white floral. However, there’s a catch. An oily note is lurking beneath, and it’s more akin to a motor oil than an essential oil. I normally love beachy white florals, but there is something just so off-putting in this. I don’t recommend it.

This is the weakest Demeter scent I have ever encountered. I could barely even smell it immediately after spraying it on my skin. If I had to describe it it’s more like sunscreen than a swimming pool... I was hoping it would smell like chlorine but I didn’t pick up any aquatic notes at all :(

I must not like aquatics, with the exception of Cool Water (woman) by Davidoff. This was a whole bunch of nope, even though it sounded nice in theory. I just do not get the appeal of this fragrance.

As simple as this is, I LOVE THIS! Getting ready to buy my 3rd bottle, this time the Ginormous one. Def not Chlorine, in case you are worried about a chemical smell. This is how I remember running around the pool as a kid, smelling the aquatic drift & a tad of Coppertone. When you used to be able to smell Coppertone, before they reformulated it. It's a gorgeous skin scent, not loud at all, even tho I want it to be. Love smelling like this in the Summer. Well, anytime really!

Yeah, doesn't smell like a pool. If you want chlorine check out pool boy by xyrena. Xyrena PB has other notes, but the chlorine water accord is strong and lasts 10 hours after the other notes subside. 🏊
