Wet Garden

This accomplishes what I got it for, and I cannot say enough for how big of a deal that is to me. Especially with spring already knocking on my door. I’ve been looking for something to replace La Fleur, a fragrance line that Bath and Body Works introduced once in 2017, and then never again. I’ve spent YEARS looking for a replacement when I finished my body spray in 2022, and I found someone mention in passing Wet Garden, and I went all in with the 125 mL bottle, which was a STEAL by the way like wow, and boy, am I satisfied. Let me just start with the opening is rough. For such a lovely fragrance, this smells straight up like rubbing alcohol when first sprayed, and the atomizer of a beast (at least on the 125mL size) is to blame mostly, I’ve never used an atomizer that was so responsive and it sprays enough to DAMP the skin I spray it on, so beware of that. I’ll admit I wasn’t impressed the first 10 minutes following, the alcohol smell was slightly mixed with a faint floral note. Not my favorite still, but I gave it a break and when I smelled it again, WOW, it’s almost exactly like La Fleur, just with the deep, wet earth note that La Fleur didn’t have, but I always layered the former with Nautica Blue, and this accomplishes those two mixed, AMAZING!!! I can see why people think this doesn’t last long, and I agree. Layering this is key to making it last. Aquatics, a soapy rose, and any other floral for that matter would be amazing with this. The possibilities are endless because this, although having a depth that I can only compare to Fox in the Flowerbed but more wet and earthy. It’s a wet dirt and beautifully fragrant spring flowers fragrance, and what you layer with it is your journey.

So thanks to Greenfaerie38, I got to smell this beauty. It truly is damp dewy spring flowers to me. I a little wet soil. It is light and sweet, and on me develops into a well behaved spring hyacinth. I cannot get enough of this! its starts out spicy, sharp and green, but fades nicely into a sweet fresh damp scent. the greeness is still there in the background, but is well behaved. So unique, it really develops in wet weather! Oh and this is not some synthetic mess that Estee Lauder churned out *cough* beyond paradise.... This honestly reminds me of sticking my nose down to the ground after a spring rain and soaking in the aromas of primarily hyacinth, wet soil, and greens and wet musk. Ah, not a trace of old lady to be found... oh no! I seemed to have developed an allergy to this! Cursed synthetics, you will rue the day you turned on me! The task of finding a new more natural replacement is going to be almost impossible!

It's a beautiful, watery, green floral. Hyper-realistic. Like the old Molbak's Garden + Home store in Woodinville, WA. I've been layering with this daily. It goes with and improves upon basically everything I have. I'm on my second bottle, and I'm sure I'll continue to rebuy it for the foreseeable future. Update: Still one of my favorites ever. Something you might find interresting: The drydown is where it smells the most wet. The initial spray is still very pleasant, but slightly clove-y. That goes away quickly though. I'm on my third bottle now, and even with a growing collection of expensive niche perfumes, I'm still in love.

My favorite bedtime and rainy day scent. I find it very comforting, romantic, and a little magical. The opening is very green and sharp like wet grass and then fades into soft, sweet floral with aquatic notes present throughout. Like all Demeter scents, its doesn’t last very long— I’d say 4 to 5 hours tops and it doesn’t hurt to apply more than you would with other scents. I also like to layer this with a simple citrus scent to make it more summery. I pair it with Maison Margiela Under the Lemon Tree and it reminds me of just after a morning rainstorm In midsummer.

Beautiful fresh green floral fragrance, very clean crisp aquatic (think more garden hose than rain). Cold and feminine with a nice soft dirt note, very photorealistic. Like most demeter perfumes, the projection is not very good and it doesn't last very long, unfortunately. Demeter is very hit or miss (imo) and this one is a hit. (if you want similar but a much stronger dirt note, try To see a flower from CB i hate perfume. Or just mix this with earthworm. or with thunderstorm, for a rainy aquatic rather than a cleaner one)

I blindly bought a full bottle of this and I’m so glad I did. The opening smells like sticking your face in a gardenia flower, then you begin to smell that wet soil smell and other florals. It’s really beautiful. It immediately reminded me of my grandmother. We scattered her ashes off of a bridge that was covered in flowers and functioned as a nursery. It smells just like that. The timed misting machines, the soil beds, the sweet smell of flowers all around me. It feels like a hug from her.

I don't regret buying this. It's green, fresh and floral, and as I'm a countryside person it's just how I want to smell. I would say it's more like May than April, because in Britain the flowers don't start coming out until May. It reminds me of my favourite Nature by Yves Rocher. I wish it could be more an Eau de perfume than cologne, because I have to spray quite a lot on and the bottle isn't very big so it's running out quick.

This was my first ever signature fragrance when I was 14. It is such a beautiful smell. Demeter is incredible at recreating scents and this is no exception. The earthiness isn't too overpowering or soil-like but is rather quite grounding (no pun intended). Genuinely smells like you are walking through a flower garden after the rain. It has a nostalgic vibe to it without being medicinal like so many nostalgia perfumes are.

As a person that hasn't cared for 80% of what Demeter has put out, I am so pleasantly surprised by this one! As a gardener, I was hoping for something that would not be just floral but a little earthly. This has just a hint of soil and way in the distance you can smell a tomato plant. (maybe it's my imagination, but I'll take it) I can't believe how much I like this, it is so calming. A green thumbs up for this one.

Smells like spring. Like the first day you open your windows, or when you step outside and smell things thawing. A little bit earthy, a little bit floral, a little bit grassy. The combination creates an almost masculine hyacinth scent, if you can imagine such a thing, yet remains entirely suitable for women. (Bears some similarity to Greenhouse, but more organic and not as sweet.)

I imagine that this is what the garden smells like in 'The Secret Garden'(1993), but not when its in full bloom, when they first bulbs blossom and the leaves turn green. This scent is so perfect for spring, it smells like fresh air right after rain and the soil is wet. To me it's wick green trees and daffodils. Far more green than it is floral. Evokes it's name perfectly.

This perfume starts out with a strong alcohol scent when first sprayed. But after it sits on the skin it turns into a light wet floral. I dislike many perfumes for their strong overpowered scent but I this one sits close to the skin. I would be very confident wearing this in a small space. Overall very nice, im going to buy the full bottle when my small one runs out.

Wow wow wow! This perfume is an experience! It reminds me of a day when you are outside gardening after a rain and you can smell the wet earth and greenery. I think there must be violet in here because this reminds me of yardley april violets. But there is definitely hyacinth too. This is a comforting fragrance to me and I just love it.

The comments have already said it all (notes of wet hyacinth flowers, a touch of soil, a lush just-after-the-rain earthiness), but I have to plug the rollerball for its longevity. I’ve been wearing it to sleep every night this Spring and it lingers the next morning. Fabulous value and superportable!

this one had me at a loss for words! smells so accurate to a garden freshly after some rainfall. its a bit like demeters - zombie for him just more florally! its a very nice light and genuine, fresh smell. recommend if you dont mind the short longevity!

This scent is just a NOSE-gasm for me. I have never smelled a scent so complex and amazing. I just wish it lasted more than 5 minutes on my skin. I smell flowers and earth and rain and green grass. It's incredibly comforting for some reason.

This smells like a florist's shop actually smells - not at all floral, but of fresh cut stems and damp floristry foam. I love it, even though it is not the most long-lasting or projecting fragrance. It's quirky but still work-appropriate.

My mum has this.. smells just like wet grass. It's gorgeous! Years ago boots natural collection did a range of body sprays based on earth, wind fire and water. The earth one smelled just like this. Dosnt last lon but lovely while it does

This is soo nice, i’m not a big florals person but this one is good. Smells exactly like a greenhouse or, even a wet garden. It’s a big soil heart and an overtone of flowers that only bloom for like a week in the spring.

The fragrance I've been looking for for a long time! They could perfectly recreate the smell of a florist's shop. It's like you're taking a sniff of a bouquet of fresh flowers. One of my favorite fragrances by Demeter.

I love this so much, it's so comforting. It really feels nostalgic. I have many Demeter fragrances and some of them come off very alcohol forward, not this one. Just a true green smell start to finish.

This is the smell of my parents garden in spring after a downpour I love it. My friends also adore it when I wear it but like so many of demeters perfumes I just wish it had more staying power.

I love this scent. It’s very just as you read on the bottle, you’re in a garden just after it rains. Everything feels safe, fresh, inviting. It’s very much a fairy like scent.

Smells like damp flowers. I've never liked florals in fragrances because they often give me a headache but despite the strong florals I love this scent.

i only smelled powder on the first wear, which disgusted me, so i put it away and gave it another go a week later. the second wear really made my heart swell; every year for the first day of spring my father would bring home hyacinth flowers and they'd fill the house with the smell of wet earth and green flowers. this perfume brought me back to those memories; i will say it wilts much faster than real hyacinth (duh) and it's less green and earthy on me, leaning floral, like i stuck my nose in the blooms instead of admiring them from far enough to catch the smell of earth in a rainstorm. i can still smell a powder note like the first wear, which i don't love, but part of me wonders if this could be drowned out with a single note scent to layer--something not so heady it drowns out the lightness of the flowers, because they are shy and their smell fades fast like spring.

I really enjoy this scent! The florals are very "light" smelling, others say hyacinth and I'd agree. Definitely has aquatic top notes and some greenery as well, like a garden just starting to bloom. Very slight hints of the soil at the beginning, which I get can be off-putting for some, but I love it! The soil starts to fade almost immediately and the greenery and water aren't too far behind. Eventually the florals are the only thing that persist, and it isn't for super long. Maybe 3 hours max for me on clothing, around 2 hours on skin. But honestly it gives me an excuse to get the wet greenery again and the price isn't anything crazy so I'm alright with it! I could see this pairing really well with Earthworm, Rain, or Petrichor if you really want to bring out the wetness or earthiness (or both, in Petrichor's case!)

This one is definately living up to it's name. A wet garden indeed on an early spring morning, when a busy gardener is turning the cool damp earth upside down, the first greens pushing through the soil accompanied by the very first spring blooms, narcissus and hyacinth. I really like to smell it in deepest winter evenings when spring and summer seem to be endless far away, it lights the mood and instantly creates that image of a spring garden in my mind, very uplifting. The lasting power is ok, it's just a cologne, so I didn't expect it to last long, I think 2-3 hours is ok. An unusual scent, to wear for yourself to light up your mood, not to please others, though it is very pleasant.

A cheapie but goodie. A true representation of spring flowers (particularly hyacinth) and wet earth. This is the sort of scent I remember fondly--and long for-- living in NYC. Unfortunately, this is not long lasting and does need to be reapplied fairly frequently but, given the price, it is worth it! I would not describe this as a Penhaligon's Bluebell dupe, although they are in the same vein-- Bluebell evokes earth differently (with a spicy, cinnamon) and (at least on my skin) smells more synthetic. However, Bluebell smells divine on my aunt, so I guess its a matter of skin chemistry! Wet Garden really is a "pick me up" that's worth a try!

At first sniff, Wet Garden is very strong and indolic, like being hit in the face with a bouquet of flowers. However, the scent soon softens and transforms into a sweet, fresh, dewy floral. It’s realistic and pleasant—nothing extraordinary but lovely, especially during the spring and summer months. It has an aquatic feel, though I found myself wanting even more of the smell of wet soil and earth, which would have made Wet Garden more unique. The sillage and longevity could also be better; you’ll need to reapply throughout the day if you want it to last. But overall, it’s a beautiful floral perfume.

I've just purchased this as an alternative to salt air, which I couldnt find. I like fragrances that evoke memories and emotions. Wet Garden is like walking along a hedge garden just after the morning dew has settled and the sun is not yet out. I like that the wet tone stays longer than a top note. It eventually disappears and leaves you with a scent of fresh cut flowers. Although I wouldnt want this everyday, it's a great pick me up for hot summer days. Unlike Dsquared wood, which smells like a forest, this one is consistent with a garden smell or a well-maintained floral shop.

Note to lovers of hyacinth. I was struck by the most wonderful fragrance while passing the florist shop of my supermarket. I wasn't sure which one of the many plants and flowers was giving off this marvelous scent, so I went back and stuck my nose in as many as it took for me to figure which one was the most responsible. I concluded it was the hyacinth plants. Many reviewers on Demeter's site likened this to hyacinth. So a Wet Garden body lotion and spray are on their way. What better way to celebrate the end of winter and usher in the spring?

On the opening, it smells like straight dirt, but within a few seconds it becomes extremely floral. It reminds me of a popular home scent from the early 2000s that every mom had, but I can’t put my finger on it. Maybe a dull potpourri or one of those reed defusers from Avon/Mervins. It does not last very long on skin, which is common with Demeter scents, but on fabric or hair it stays a lot longer. It also gives me an incense sort of fragrance, like a sage one. Still extremely earthy and floral, very pleasant if you enjoy STRONG green scents

This is exactly as described! Roses after a rain, with a hint of freshness, a touch of dampness, and just a whiff of clean earth—the scent of fresh potting soil rather than roadside mud. I rather like this one and think I'll happily use up my small bottle, though I'm not sure I'd need a larger size. We'll see. This feels like the perfect fragrance to reach for on a hot summer day when I want something easy, fresh, and not overly complicated. I can also see this adding a nice green accent when layering with other florals.

Literally smells like a wet garden. The same vibe you get early in the morning when the foliage in a garden is covered in morning dew. Also smells a bit like green apples to me. Longevity is okay for a Demeter cologne, lasts about 5hrs on me until it's completely gone. Lasts longer on clothes. If you already have Grass then I don't think there is a need to have Wet Garden. They are pretty similar except Grass has a bit more of a citrusy note to it imo vs Wet Garden's green apple note.

Green, marine and atmospheric fragrances are my thing. And this one was quite impressive. Demeter somehow managed to capture "wetness" note within this bottle, all I smell is "wet" and "green" notes. Not a single green note, but many. Sort of all in one situation green just like a garden. Pretty nice frag. And lasts just the perfect amount of time with above average sillage. Had this for about a year now and loving how atmospheric it is.

this isn't the same "dirt" scent as their Dirt. this one's much better. this is the smell of my Daddy's garden after a heavy rain - more of a memory in a bottle than a perfume, as far as i'm concerned. but i do love it. it's fertile earth, clear water (no headache-inducing high pitched aquatics, though!) and crisp green leaves. .... and this is more what i expected their Greenhouse to smell like.

Wet Garden is a definite spring fragrance, and to me it is the most accurate hyacinth that I've ever smelled in a bottle. For a cologne, it has good sillage and lasts surprisingly long. I'm wearing it today, because it is a cold, dreary, rainy autumn day and I needed a "pick-me-up". I really love Demeter's fragrances. For $6.00 you can get 15ml of a really enjoyable fragrance.

Very pretty fragrance that's absolutely true to its name. It's floral, yet also fairly green - just like how a garden smells after a rain storm, with the wet grass and stems apparent. As someone said below, it also reminds me of the smell of a flower shop. I'm often sensitive to watery notes, but I haven't had trouble with the ones in here yet, which is a great plus!

I have been living in New York for a couple years and this fragrance really reminds me of the unexpected whiff of freshness you get when you walk past a flower shop. It is very crisp and green, like cut stems and iris. There's a little bit of dirt, but it's a very clean and green scent overall. If going to the florist gets you giddy, definitely pick this one up.

This is one of those fragrances that are named exactly how they smell. It's a very floral scent, but not pretty. It smells like you have been picking lots of different flower petals with some leaves here and there for a green and vegetal touch and mixed them with dirt after a heavy rain. Scent: 5.5/10 Longevity: 5/10 Projection: 3/10

Green-floral with a powdery dry down. It's not what I expected based on the reviews but I enjoy it! It settles into kind of a generic floral grandma perfume but the initial wear is *exactly* it's name. 7/10 been wearing it on my clothes a lot, such a fresh smell. It's grown on me in a way I didn't expect!

This is an hard frangrance to describe it smells a cross between Lettuce from a sandwitch and a the after rain from a forest it's sweet and it does get a bit overwhelming at times this may not be my favorite but it's unique if someone wants to have something different from the conventional Perfume

This is VERY watery. To the point where I feel like I am breathing water. Close to smelling air with 100% humidity. I admire this, though for me it feels a bit like I'm choking. Have to dose it very carefully. This is still a nice fragrance for me, true to its name.

Very similar to Olympic Orchids 'Night Flyer' original, however less potent. Less floral than i was expecting but there is some detectable white floral.. 3/5 for me since the projection and longevity are poor.

Smells exactly like the name. So spot on, i’m amazed. If anyone here is familiar with Longwood Gardens, this fragrance smells like walking through that attraction. Wet, fresh flowers and greenery.

Dandelions in the rain, freshness and joy, grenery and electricity. Love it! It's like a more feminine and 'wearable' version of my beloved Thunderstorm.

Slightly soapy tomato vine with some flowers in the background. It’s also kind of spiced, cinnamon and some clove, maybe? Not unpleasant.

This goes on as a delicious hyacinth fragrance. It develops into a generally green scent, less floral than grassy, but still very fresh.
