Ylang-Ylang

It’s a late spring day in elementary school and it’s warm outside but stuffy inside. The student next to you is determined to re-do a hand written paragraph scraping the eraser with fervor while another sharpens their pencil. You rest your head on the desk where the slight smell of disinfectant lingers. Your teacher opens up the window in the afternoon and the smell of yellow flowers wafts through the room with a slight smell of the newly cut grass from the baseball field. As you sit the smell of tree and bush wood follows the floral scent. I have a small splash bottle of this, on my arm the first accord I get is eraser and slight disinfectant. Just when I think the bottle might be a bunk one, the astringent yellow floral cone through bright and loud but not in a cloying way. It sits like this for an hour or so to dry down to a dried floral balsam wood linger which lasts intimately for 4 or so hours. Fresh scent for versatile settings and great for layering. A lovely straightforward scent common for this house. Some might find it too astringent and lacking in performance. I do love this house because it’s a good price point and allows you to explore single note fragrances. I don’t give a of 10 rating for this fragrance because it’s not meant to be a blended luxury fragrance but a paint in a palette.

Exotic ylang ylang is one of my favorite floral notes. This cologne spray is sweet, rich, fruity, and narcotic. It reminds me a little bit of Givenchy Ysatis which has a pronounced ylang ylang note. I purchased several single floral note fragrance samples from Demeter. These will be nice to wear on their own or blended. I may blend Ylang Ylang with Jasmine, which I think will be lovely.
