Zombie for Him

I should’ve written a review on this frag a long time ago, but idk why I didn’t do yet. So, here we go. First of all, Zombie for Him by Demeter was my first niche perfume experience. It’s a really long story about how I went into this hobby, I’ll just mention that Demeter was the very right choice to begin from. I can’t say that any Demeter frag reminds me of something specific. For me, their perfumes are mostly about the place and the action, but not the painting or the scene. I’ve watched tons of movies about zombies and read tons of books on the same theme, but Zombie for Him doesn’t remind me of any of it. And I’m grateful! Why? ‘Cause I can use it as a neutral perfume and don’t overthink every second about suitability of it in the moment. Yes, I use this frag nearly daily. I can easily call it one of my signature frags. Okay, now about notes and so on. At the very first try I smelled too much of wet mushrooms. I’m a fan of dat smell, but not in that amounts I’ve got. So, I was a bit disappointed at first. Later, I’ve tried it another time. And got a pure peat mixed with wet gravestones. It made me excited AF ‘cause that was what I’ve expected when bought it. Yep, it was a blindbuy. Now, I’m fully in this wonderful perfume and it’s so pleasant and comfortable for me! I’ve realised that it’s not “wet rotting mushrooms”, but mostly “fungus on a gravestone” scent. On me if becomes a little sweet, as all other frags from any house. Now I just don’t give a f about it. Aaand yes, the awkward part is that this frag makes me HORNY🫠 I, of course, know why, but, oh men, it becomes not an easy task to wear it in a crowd... This fact doesn’t bother me at all, btw, as I’m not a usual guest on normies parties : D Would I suggest to blindbuy it? Certainly no. It’s really not an ordinary frag for that focus. I’d recommend to buy at least a sample or to try other Demeter perfumes before, so you’ll know the entire direction of this house and it smells.

regardless of the fact that this smell is the smell of earth, moisture and some cleanest and purest mold on earth , this composition is a medicinally clean smell, like a flowing stream in the middle of a old old forest that no one has ever seen... this composition smells good to me, it really smells good, although sometimes this smell reminds me of the smell of swamp and stir up decades-untouched wet ground with the rotting processes taking place there. it sounds strange, but everything here smells of untouched nature, as if man did not exist on this earth at all... rotting with sweet edges, as if you had left carrot peels in a damp dark room for half a year... but, the impression is that everything is rotting in some kind of vacuum, without bacteria , because the composition smells medically sterile.. I really like it, I can't stop smelling it. I really don't believe that anyone could even think that this smell is created and not some kind of dirty old rags smell :D

Zombie for Him is a fragrance I purchased out of curiosity. I had a scented candle before named "Lestat the Vampire" which smelled like graveyard dirt and moss. I liked it and was looking for similar tones in Demeter's perfume: I got them. However, Zombie for Him is different in the sense that it's an even more earthy scent with notes of mushrooms that grow on gravestones and the cool air on a night with the full moon embracing the wearer. I eventually gave it away as a friend of mine was interested in smelling a truly mossy perfume. It's a nice creation from Demeter and I'm glad it exists!

People online ask who the target audience is for these sorts of scents, and I’m proud to say that I am. Some like vampires, some like werewolves, my assigned ‘horror’ creature is zombies. Yes, it smells like mold, and I like that. I like how mold smells. This will be incredible w my bbw off the vine, I’m sure that the dry down will be even more potent when it gets warmer out. Trust and believe I will be assaulting your noses with this on the daily the second it hits March 1st. TLDR: ts fire, mmmmm brains

I wear this to bed nearly every night. The mushroom note smells plump and happy. The soil can sometimes come across as pleasantly spicy. It's damp and wonderful and so cozy. For people who had dead insects for friends as a kid or for those who love how the world looks from the bottom of a lake. And again, I would like to emphasize that Zombie for Him knocks me right out. If this is your thing, it is an excellent wear for bedtime. Highly highly recommend.

Oh man I loved it, it really gives some kind of a Zombie vibe if you close your eyes and imagine it. As you can see by the notes, you'll probably guess that maybe it has a really earthy smell, wich it does but in my opinion it's a good one, so if you like the smell of wet soil you'll like this frag too. Would I wear this? Probably not but I bought the fragrance only for the "vibe" it does. So overall they did a wonderful job on this one.

it smells a lot like an eastern european forest after rain, its nice! the dirt smell definitely comes through, which i find lovely. as all demeter perfumes it unfortunately doesnt last that long :-( its not overly fresh but its not suffocating either, its fresh in a genuinely natural rainy forest way! love it, would recommend if you dont mind the short longevity

Starts with very realistic wet mushroom smell and evolves into this dirt, peat and stony smell. Very clean smelling, no moldy or anything, dry. Really like you just rose from earth, truly amazing.

this is great if your looking to make add a scent to a Halloween costume! to me it smells like wet leaves and mold! thinking of going camping just after it had rained!

Its a very unique scent and kinda familiar to me reminds me walking through the garden smelling the lavender and the fresh soil on a rainy day

A gardener's paradise. I had no idea what to expect when I tried this, and the very first thing I thought of was peat moss. I've transplanted plants that prefer peat moss to potting soil, and at first that's all I got. Then came the scent of torn up roots: live roots, with living green tissue inside the root "bark." The scent of freshly tilled peat-heavy earth. I didn't get mushrooms or fungus per se, not even rain or mud. Just moist earth. To me, this is a "clean" gardening scent, but it is very potent. I used 2 sprays, and after 10 minutes, it just seemed to be getting stronger and stronger. I think this would be perfect for a city dweller who moved from the country and misses digging in the dirt of their country garden. But go easy -- it's strong.

This perfume is incredibly earthy, with very distinct notes of damp soil, mushrooms, mold, and something almost fermented or boozy. This summer, after the rain, I often came across mulberry trees in my city. Their fallen fruits had been crushed by people walking over them and had started to ferment slightly in the wet weather. Somehow, they smelled exactly like this perfume. It’s a very strange but incredibly vivid association. To my nose, Zombie for Him is sharper and more aggressive than Dirt from the same brand, but it is also longer-lasting. I wear it less often than Dirt, but for autumn and that darker, gloomier atmosphere, it’s absolutely perfect.

Delightfully weird! This one is definitely not for the faint of heart but I don’t think it’s going for mass market appeal. The mushroom notes are STRONG at least on my skin and for the first 30 minutes it smells like you’ve stuck your whole head in a rotting log. The smell of the wood is sweet and something about the moss note makes it wonderfully green and spicy. I personally love it, though it made some of my family members gag (my mom said it smells like rotting fruit and mildew lol)

Really photorealistic dirt fragrance, smells slightly like rot, but is in no way unpleasant when you know that that's what you're getting. I personally really like this. I don't know if it's wearable from day to day in settings that are around many other people, as it might just indicate you are wearing something that's not fully clean, but I do really like this smell. I think it's quite beautiful. Great experience and quality for the price, I think.

Smells just like walking in a damp graveyard early in the morning... there’s something of undisturbed morning air about this that I absolutely adore. Might just be an issue of how it reacts with my skin or possibly there was another source of the smell that day I’m not sure but the dry down on one particular day smelt a bit vomity which wasn’t as nice. I will continue trialling it to see if that was a one off

Smells like wet dark soil, literally. It's very photorealistic. After a few minutes the green/grassy notes stand out. If you're wearing the perfume, people would definitely look at you in a weird way (at least in my experience). I'd give it a 7/10

Fungi on wet soil. The smell matches the fragrance's name. It's ugly and unpleasant. If you're looking for something extraordinary and bizarre, then go for it.

This is all about slightly spicy soil, spicy dirt. Beautiful art. I get a blend of bkack peper and soil. Moderate performance, good.

A very good wet soil scent, with mushroom in the opening. It's great, I just wish it lasted longer...

Zombie for Him - does perfume marketed to smell like a zombie necessarily need to be gendered? Nevertheless, I think this fragrance fills its brief to the letter, whether that’s a good or a bad thing I don’t really know. Obviously it doesn’t smell like a zombie would, because who really knows what that would smell like. Instead, it smells like you are the zombie - it imagines what scents you might encounter as you first arise from your grave. A strong presence of wet, dank mosses and soil are reminiscent of someone unearthing the ground with a shovel in the pouring rain; whilst the more obscure notes of mushrooms and mildew create this horrible earthy flesh-like accord. Overall, it smells disgusting to put it frankly. But despite that, I can’t exactly hate on it because it’s achieving exactly what it says it should, so in that sense it’s a complete success of a fragrance. I absolutely would never wear it though and I fear anyone who does.

From the notes listed, I'd say this is pretty spot on. It smells like mildewy earth, wet leaves, and that dank fungal smell that can only be from the mushroom note. I noticed that the drydown gets a bit less wet and rank, smelling mostly of dirt. If you're curious, buy a sample. If you want to smell like forest undergrowth and a slight bit of vegetative compost, go for the full bottle.

It smells just like dirt... I don't really think there's more to be said.

This one smells like wet muddy ground... it brought back memories from my childhood growing up in Western Washington of playing in the rain and having my nose full of the smell of wet, cold, dank earth. Fortunately, the men's version seems to be missing a cloying sweet rotting tone, which would make it infinitely worse... The main issue I have with this scent is... why would I ever wear it? If I want to smell like this I can achieve the effect by going out and doing some digging in the rain. NOT safe for work; your co-workers are likely to think you didn't shower or something. The ONLY circumstance to wear this is as part of a halloween costume, or as a joke. Just get a sample and not a full bottle if that's your aim.

I had just acquired Zombie for Him and Zombie for Her as gifts for my brother and his wife (they're die-hard zombie and Halloween nuts). But before sending the colognes to them, I just had to try them. Zombie for Him definitely follows the listed notes. Initially starting off with a strong mushroom and dirt scent - not offensive, just unexpected. After a dry-down of 30-45 minutes, it settles down to fresh soil and oak moss - almost pleasant, with a hint of a Grey Flannel-ness. Agreeably not a work fragrance, but could be worn on a day off, maybe running errands in town. And definitely perfect for a Halloween costume or party.

I have a house in the mountains which is very old. My grandma grew up there. Everytime I go there and I step out of the car, I first smell wet moss, mushrooms, clean air, and the tall trees. This hits very close to that. I love it. In a way, it reminds me of Encre Noire from Lalique, which I also have and love. I would put it like that: Encre Noire reminds me of the upper part of the scenery I just described (because of the cypress) and Zombie for him reminds me of the lower part of this context (damp soil, mushrooms). It feels very special to me.

Ah, I bought this as a novelty. It's not actually that strange. It brought me vivid memories and playing football as a child in a muddy field. Don't expect to get compliments, but for the price it was fun. All the zombie and Elvira's can be sampled at 2ml from surrender to chance very cheap.

This is a spectacular scent. Smells like mushrooms and worms, as well as mildew and wine. Amazing. Not at all sweet. VERY bold -- I wouldn't wear this in public. Will suit anyone who wants to take a walk in a damp forest. P.s. this isn't fresh or watery, it's a damp forest on a dark night.

The perfect choice to cover up that embarrassing stench of rotting flesh. You will smell again like you just climbed out of the fresh earth with a delightful note of musty mushroom to liven things up. Sort of a silly gag perfume, but if you love zombies and perfume what can you do?

I'm thinking they didn't really need to make one for women and one for men.. Corpses probably smell all the same. :p But I sure am excited to try both of them, I have a lifelong romance with zombies and I just love me all things zombie. Yay!

George Romero left an impression on my young self that will last a life time. My z-movie collection is obsessive... I'm *dying* to acquire this to my frag collection!

It really smell lika a zombie earthed before you. Fresh soil, very forresty soil.

Gross smell. Had to buy a bottle just to try it. It lives up to its name.
