Azure

What a quality addition to the line this is. There's something beautiful and nostalgic about this fragrance that made me smile first time I smelled it. It still does for that matter. Not as warm and robust as Original but still damn good. Opening for some may be a bit harsh but few minutes later you have a beautifully balanced mix of fresh top and aromatic middle notes with added pinch of cloves supported by warm, woody base. I agree with Chris from Scentland that its fresher and modern character makes it more versatile. Longevity on my skin is at least 6hrs which for an aftershave is admirable.

I absolutely adore this! The fresh green aromatic woody blend is such a pleasure to wear. Goes along the lines of the Denim original tradition but makes its fresh, green, bit more modern and more versatile. As an After Shave it still kills many EDT or even EDP is terms of sillage and longevity. Big Bravo!

What a beauty ! Its a must have. Very close to Gillette Coolwave after-shave.

Seeing that my regular staple splash of almost 40 years - 'Mandate' - is now no longer produced in my native England, and has now sadly been outsourced for production in China for the last 5 years or so, I've been looking for alternative options in the < £10 price bracket. I think I may have found the right candidate with Denim Azure... I'm baffled as to the choice of name for this fragrance: 'Azure', as well as the dark blue colour of the box, because this is a green scent if ever I smelled one; a deep, dark, bottle green shade springs to mind, and I think British Racing Green would have been a more apt colour for its packaging. The dominant Pine note, along with the Balsam Fir and Eucalyptus, gives a fresher and more verdant presentation than the other aftershaves I have tried from the same stable, and there is absolutely nothing sweet or floral about this fragrance. It has an old school soapy nose to it, and the Cloves and Rosemary are the more dominant notes at its spicy and herbacious heart, the Thyme takes a backseat to these two. Although Olibanum isn't mentioned in the notes of its composition, it shares this same resinous note with all of the other scents in the Denim range that I have sampled. Though it could be described as being somewhat of a linear scent over all, the individual notes can be detected quite easily as each come into play at various stages of the dry down. The sillage is mighty, so use sparingly. As a couple of previous reviewers have stated, it is strong, long lasting, and would even give most EDT's and a lot of EDP's a run for their money - I suspect that this is the reason why out of all the Denim range, this is the only one that is not available as an EDT. All in all a very balsamic Fougere, and a bargain at the price. 7/10.

Denim after its first wash. Denim Original lovers should try this for a change. Denim Azure is a close cousin to the Original Denim with menthol-y top and fresh soapy-ness to its backbone, while there are some similarities in the base, Azure lacks the warmth of the Original with a harsh nose burning alcohol opening for the first few seconds with the Eucalyptus note. I personally preferred the warmth of Original Denim which I felt was much rounded and had more depth in the scent.

Is there a cologne version of Azure? I have the aftershave and it's good, as are almost all Denim fragrances.
