Denim 1976

Absolutely stunning! A perfect balance of smooth, inviting, rugged - manly and warm notes. Very much reminiscent of the original AD by Alain Delon from 1980. Both are similar in their appeal while AD has projects honey and pine and Denim 1976 introduces vetiver and patchouli instead. Its like as if Denim 1976 is the after shave version of the good old AD with a similar smell but less dept. I am extremely happy about this release and bought 5 bottles instantly. An EDT version of this (just like with the original) would be HIGHLY APPRECIATED!!! PLEEAASSSEEEE!!!!!

Solid ultra masculine fragrance with a robust lavender, bergamot and spices plus vetiver (not listed there(. The other missing and most descriptive ingredient is olibanum! This gives the sensuous base note a quite distinctive touch. Dunhill For Men, but fresher: Curzon by Geo F. Trumper, but less refined- on budget. And Vetiver by Guerlain of course. Could not recommend more!

Wow. Original Denim is a great bang-for-buck fragrance. A fellow frag head sent me a sample and I immediately took a liking to it. Purchased a bottle on Amazon for only $18. IMO, this is a rugged/classy scent with good performance and great versatility; reminds me a little of original Trussardi Uomo. I just ordered a backup bottle. Highly recommend.

This is actually very similar to Gold by Yardley(originally),strangely never added in this archive,i have both the aftershave and the deo spray and i can attest that the deo last longer and can be percieved by others clearly,so get the deo too,it will greatly boost the wonder that is this frag!And also Gold,if you want a total package!

Exactly what a powerhouse should smell like, leathery chypre with citrus opening notes, flowery heart and musky-leather drydown. I could smell this juice all day long!

A true blast from the past! Not the same it used to be! But still ok! Denim original is a great sexy scent of the 70's💝

A great masculine classic, a must in the toilets of our loved ones: fathers, uncles, grandparents. The olfactory memory evokes indelible memories, which move, mark a far simpler epoch than today, devoid of sophisticated niche olfactory research (often guided by vulgar fanaticism) undoubtedly more spontaneous and genuine. Faberge's denim represented cleanliness and masculine decor without big pretensions. Testing it today I appreciate a less aldehyde and less chypre reformulation, certainly less leather, the fragrance is less strong than I remember it in the 80s. Surely a reassuring and pleasant memory that belongs to our history.

Denim 1976 is NOT Original Denim. There is an another thread on Fragrantica for "Original Denim" - the one we can find in most shops. Denim 1976 is a limited special edition and does not smell like "Original" Denim. Of course it smells great. And it's not easy to find. I ordered mine from Eastern Europe. The same information was relayed by eskimosnow below, in 2021. Just updating.

I like to fragrance my rugs and carpets with perfumes to create different moods (we all have our kinks... and it's more interesting than a fig-diffuser). So I picked up three bottles of Denim after-shave (grand total £13). Bargain of the century. Of the three (Original, 1976 and River) this is my least favourite - but I can see why others like it. The bermagot and then lavender at the top is lovely, but I'm not a fan of the jasmine that takes over. The dry down on my skin is overwhelmingly oakmoss - old school and raw. I like Oakmoss when it's sensitively handled (e.g. in Jules) but this is too harsh - it's a bit like sniffing the essential oil. The sillage and longevity of the after-shave is quite mild, not at all overwhelming, it's a refreshing splash on as you would expect. I have not tried an EDT yet. Nonetheless, for the price is a steal, and if you like jasmine, why not give it a try. Also - I notice on paper that the oakmoss is softer, so it may blend with you better. I've yet to see how it fares on the carpet...

Still smells ok this fragrance its on the weak side so you will have to use a lot if you 'don't have to try too hard'...also cheap as chips

My first fragrance that I bought for a small price. But I loved it. It was the time of school disco parties. Wearing tight white Wrangler jeans, blue suede Roots shoes and a shiny blue jacket. Hair done with the hairdryer from mother. I drenched myself with this lovely fresh masculine aftershave that gave me confidence to approach the young ladies for a dance. I was so happy if they didn't refused me. For that this Denim is a masterpiece and it will be in my scent memory for ever. And it's unbelievable that it's still available! Shall I buy a bottle? Will it crush my precious memories 💓? Edit 9-11-23. I bought a bottle for the unbelievable price of 2,80 Euro. And I'm a bit shocked. This is a very nice aftershave that does the job of southing the skin very well. It smells almost the same as 45 years ago. Fresh spicy with a patchouli woody dry down. It disappears in 4 hours but that's no problem because I always layer my aftershave with a perfume. I'm really curious how they make this for such a low price.

Well then... I sometimes can't believe how wonderful cheap fragrances can be. This is a masculine lavender scent with a beautiful roughness to it. I truly enjoy the wearing experience while it's around, and unfortunately it's not a very long experience. Side note: This could have been a real winner for me. But I'm still glad that a Youtube reviewer suggested it and I had the opportunity to experience the vintage formulation.

This is one of my favourite nostalgia scents of all time. Fresh, clean and ambery. Totally inoffensive, comforting and amazingly low-cost: 5 GBP for 100ml. I prefer the EDT/Perfume version (stronger than the aftershave) as longevity is 6+ hours; sillage and projection are decent at first but fade/stay close to skin after an hour. The opening is fresh and soapy; the dry down is a woody talcum powder. Highly recommended!

This smells absolutely nothing like Bijan at all, not even close...To me, this is very reminiscent of the EDT version of Tabac. Smells wonderfully fresh..I only have the aftershave, not sure it comes in any other concentration, but it is very fleeting. Like 30 minutes if you're lucky. Unlike Denim original, which has great longevity in all forms.

One of the scents of my teens and twenties along with Brut. Wouldn't probably wear it now - did back then. In the 80's my flatmates girlfriend was the hand model for the original Denim advert. I spent a train ride with her from Edinburgh to London. She never attempted to get her hand in my shirt. She smelled great.

I would like to try this one,but cant find it here in Bosnia !Some help please !
