Privilege

Re-reviewing this after I've had a chance to come back to it. It's wonderfully fresh and feels like a cool, lightly aromatic and incensed melon water. I'm reminded of Loewe 7, with it's aquatic apple-incense pairing. There are a lot of musk materials in the base here, with a vegetal ambrette helping some of the fruit notes feel like something just on the verge of ripeness. Mineralic, bitter green notes help balance the acquatic melon vibe and keep it from being a singularly "fruity" or "melon-y" experience. I think Amazinggreen by CDG comes closest to this kind of synthetic, green showergel vibe. But I also just heard someone compare it to CDG's 2 Man and I think that may be closer in style- smoky, watery wood with fruit inflections. Now in warmer weather it's more murky and less innocent than I first thought. I feel the the iris-amyris weight and syrup-like effect I felt in MFK's Amyris Homme, where there's a soft sweetness giving a candied, balsamic edge that plays into the mineral feeling. Further into the dry down I get more wood, but it's dry and smoky as Guaiac wood can be. Lots of odd pairings but well blended enough to keep you wondering how they made it so likeable. Not sure if it would replace 2 Man for me, but it's more unisex than that so I'd recommend sampling if you're even vaguely interested. More synthetic feeling and oddball than usual but not in a bad way.

I'm not a big fan of aquatic men fragrances, however I like this one a lot. It feels absolutely unisex. Fresh, airy, with nice iris (+ carrot seeds). At the same time this fragrance is "warm". I think different musks give this impression. After testing it from a sample will certainly buy a full bottle.

I’ve been following Nathalie Feisthauer’s work closely for a long time and I am one of those who have personally experienced that her compositions are more than superficial. Privilege allowed me to discover another side of her. She is an undisputed nature lover. And this detail made me respect her and her creation Privilege once again. The way the green molecules burst with fruit and minerals and then mingle with the cool scent of a tranquil lake makes it very clear what Privilege wants to convey. Very lively, full of energy, slightly cool and at the same time calm. It is as if you are welcoming a blue morning on the dock of a lake house. You surrender your feet to the purifying power of the water and listen to the silence. Don’t you think that’s a privilege? It certainly is. While I am cautious of aquatic touches, the strong woods and precious iris create a beautiful balance and the unique timbres of nature echo in a sweet soft musky base. I can say that during its stay on my skin, it never lost its vitality, fresh texture and wind. I was sent by it from a quiet lake house to the lonely but free trees and from there to the hills.. I have no doubt that in the cool evenings of spring and when the sun warms my skin in summer, it will offer me the vibration my inner world needs. This is the deepest feeling, the vibration, and it comes out when we get away from the crowds and the boring cities and just get in touch with nature.
