Jasmine Rice

I initially tried a small sample of this about a year ago and I just fell in love with it. It smells like really fragrant rice water (the residual water from washing a container of jasmine rice) initially, which then transforms into a really fragrant white jasmine tea later. The base notes after a few hours is essentially jasmine sambac and vanilla on me. Sadly, I don't really find that the overall scent smells like rice BUT I still like this. A soft, comforting, powdery vanilla. After a few months of finishing up my sample, I managed to save up enough money to cop the crazy intl shipping fees and order a larger size bottle. However, the formula I got was extremely strong on the alcohol like what some of the reviews below have stated :'( dunno what happened. Thankfully, the perfume settles on my skin just like the older sample I got. I've also left the perfume bottle sitting still in a cabinet for a couple of weeks and have found that the alcohol smell has decreased since. Maybe the fragrance oils just needed time to macerate, idk. I still rate it though.

I've never smelled another 'rice' scent before, so I'm not sure how this compares but I went on quite a journey with this. At first I really didn't like it, the initial notes are extremely rice forward, but not like cooked rice, more like rice powder? It smells extremely dusty to me at first, something about the savory quality of the rice mixed with the jasmine reminds me of dust, it kind of made me want to sneeze. I'm so glad I tried this on despite not loving it on paper, the initial dusty notes are still there but it mellows out rather quickly and becomes softer. It still has a slight dusty, powdery smell but it becomes a little more floral and muskier which really grew on me. The dry down is what really sold me! It dries down and has way more tea notes while still having a rice/starchiness feel. The jasmine is still pretty forward but I love the cozy/warmness the rice brings. It also becomes sweeter and has a vanilla note to it! I still don't love the opening, but I'm going to keep wearing it for the dry down for sure!

I am absolutely obsessed with this scent. The first spray is pure rice powder and amber, with massive projection that honestly took me by surprise. The starchy-ness is delectible alongside the hint of black tea. I want to wake up, roll over, and smell this scent. I want to walk into my house at night and smell this scent. Somehow, the drydown gets even more powdery, but not to the point where it's chemical or smells like a cleaning product. Like a gentle breeze that carries the scent of blooming jasmine over a field of golden rice, the fragrance is soft and serene. The heady sweetness of jasmine unfurls like petals in the morning sun, while the rice adds a quiet, grounding warmth, like the comfort of home after a long day. The two notes blend effortlessly—floral and earthy, delicate yet enduring—creating a symphony of elegance and tranquility that lingers in the air. There’s a nostalgic pull, as though the fragrance is a bridge to forgotten memories of simpler times, distant places, quiet moments, wrapped in the soft embrace of familiarity.

This is a very nice scent – not too sweet, not too floral, not to powdery. It transformed a lot on my skin throughout the day, and almost every note got its moment. At the opening, the jasmine was the most prominent scent. I didn’t find it as aggressive as others have, but it does dominate over other notes until the rice balances it out. A few hours in, the scent shifted and became sweet and almost metallic leaning. Tea notes tend to present almost metallic on my skin, so I’m assuming that’s what I was smelling the most. This is also where I was able to detect the honey scent that others have mentioned. It’s not a true honey note, but some combination of the rice and jasmine presents similarly. Later in the day, the scent turned softer, muskier, and gave off the sensation of being vanilla-y or lactonic. This is where the rice notes truly shined and got to dominate the scent. Even after hours of wear, this perfume was still performing just as strong as it did when I sprayed it on in the morning. It took close to 10 hours for the scent to become more intimate, and even then it wasn’t undetectable, just softer and closer to the skin. I really loved the end performance of this perfume, where the starchy rice notes were most prominent, but in general this scent was never offensive to me!

The opening of this reads quite soapy on my skin (but that's not something I necessarily dislike!) It's ethereal and cozy for the first half of the wear and dries down into a nice chewy rice scent. I have a LOT of rice fragrances in my collection and it does feel a little similar to KST Scent Rice Cake on my skin, but I adore that one too! All in all, can't go wrong with this fragrance. I've been enjoying wearing it on calm evenings at home.

The scent of jasmine is overpowering on first spray. I am not one for florals so I truly wish the jasmine was not so strong; however, the dry down and scent of beautiful starchy jasmine rice makes it all so worth it. The scent lasts all day and I do think this an elegant fragrance, definitely one for the rice lovers.

SUPPERRRR RICE AND JASMINE!! lactonic, and savory in an almost photorealistic way? its quite powdery tbh but it def feels like a new bag of rice thats got some of that powder in it which settles in a way that u get a whiff of everytime u open it.

Jasmine flower is WAYYYY too sharp, like why is it soo heavy? It’s not giving what I wanted from this. Just nauseating and mid. I wish the white florals was subtle and I WISH it smelled like actual jasmine rice and not just flowers and dusty rice with some un brewed tea. This honestly catfished me bc I was hoping for somthing smooth and what I got was just nasty. After the dry down it’s not horrible but for the price hell no!!!

This is sadly not what I was looking for (rice dominant, warm, starchy, creamy) If you are looking for !!! JASMINE !!! Floral bomb with a hint of rice and some honey note, this is for you. It lasts FOREVER. I only like the dry down where the jasmine is at its mellowest.. approx 8-10hrs later maybe. Or maybe even the next day. Cute packaging though. And this is definitely for someone, just not me.

Hmmm....idk girl hear me out: this smells exactly like the cash-only trinket shops in old Chinatown in Chicago. Old asian ladies and a little body heat? a lot of loose leaf tea and some soap wrapped in paper. I say this with deep affection. however it is not the scent for me to wear

Very fresh, not at all sweet in my opinion. Something makes it pretty soapy! I think the tea note is surprisingly strong. It's like you fermented some rice in a jasmine tea pot. Very unisex scent profile! Personally wish it was a bit more feminine.

i feel like im losing my mind because i dont really get the super rice smell like evryone else🤔 its very jasmine and powdery to me, kind of wish it was a touch more lactonic but you cant have it all....

I don’t know if I got a bad batch but it smells like cleaning product or box dye. The opening is extremely sharp and synthetic!

I came in chasing the ultimate rice scent, that soft, sweet, slightly milky rice-powder comfort, and this isn't it for me. On my skin it opens soapy, almost like bubble solution, and the rice reads as heavy toasted bran rather than powder. I gave it a full dry-down hoping the chemical edge would burn off, but it stayed in soapy-and-bran territory the whole way. I wanted to love it, and I know scent is personal, so others may get something different. Just not the rice I was hoping for.

First of all, this isn't a bad scent. But it is somewhat heady and aromatic, and to my nose very tea-dominant. This also smells heavily of honey, and I strongly dislike honey fragrances. Once I associated it with honey, it was a wrap for me. However, please get your nose on it if you're interested. This house is truly unique and handles its fragrances with such detail and care. I was blown away by the packaging presentation.

TS PMO!!!! I love rice fragrances but smelling this actually made rage so intensely. it smells like the blowing bubble solution ten times stronger in the worst way possible. NO rice, NO jasmine, NO tea... this is not tea. somebody needs to clock his tea cause this is not ok. 30ML for one Benjamin is crazy works. I don't know bout y'all, but I just became a hater. side note I might've gotten a bad batch, I received it in coral color instead of a yellowish liquid, but still it smells so atrocious.

lysol wipes. mr. dgrayi down in dgrayi headquarters wrung out a few into a witch's cauldron of perfumers alcohol (or whatever base solution) just for me in particular because I cannot be smelling the same perfume the little people on my phone claim to be their photorealistic jasmine rice. On the contrary, I'm flung back into middle school, cleaning the top of my desk with a half-dry disinfectant wipe and a rice-shaped hole in my heart..

Since the Red version isn't listed on here, this one will be a double whammy review! JASMINE RICE: Oh BROTHER this guy STINKS!!!!! Sure, I definitely get the rice-like starchiness up front, but the jasmine is... suffocating, oh my god. The initial spray makes me cough and for the next 5-10 minutes my face is scrunched up in perma-"what's that AWFUL smell?"-mode. I don't know if it's the rice note, the jasmine, a combination of both... but this isn't even your typical animalic stink, it smells old and musty. It DOES, however, eventually, mellow out. It becomes sweeter while still retaining that rice-like quality and basically resembles the Red version 1:1. RED JASMINE RICE: So, funny story, I actually tested this one first! When ordering my first batch of samples the original was out of stock. THIS smells sweet right out of the gate!!! Not candy-sweet, but maybe like mochi? I've never tried red bean baste so I have no idea if that's what I'm smelling. Again, starchy right out the gate, and the jasmine somehow doesn't veer into stinky territory AT ALL??? I'm baffled how the two are so different! Based on reviews of the original I thought I'd dislike this but couldn't stop myself from trying it regardless; when it turned out to be rather delightful I went and ordered the original. THE BETRAYAL OF IT ALL! Anyway... this has delicate silage which is a personal preference of mine so I'm loving it, and the "rice powder" accord reminds me of the one found in Givenchy Irresistible Nude Velvet, so another win for me! Another deviation from the original is the Red version does become a touch yeasty/bread-like in the dry down, but it's not overwhelming. Longevity of both versions is about 5-6 hours. Moral of the story: if you hated this perfume, DO NOT write off the Red Jasmine Rice variant! Give it a shot!

I will preface by saying ; If you are looking for a creamy , lactonic sweet sticky rice scent like I was, this scent is likely not for you. I was seeing a lot of those buzz words when searching for reviews on this perfume, unfortunately i do not smell any of that in this fragrance :( It opens up soapy, a sharp & fresh jasmine scent (Which to be completely honest, I am not a fan of). Jasmine is most definitely the star of the show here. As it dries down, the creamy sweetness does peak in a bit, rice is a note that I smell once the dry down happens, but it's a note that i have to search for rather than it being present on its own. It definitely hangs out behind the freshness that the jasmine delivers. Its not quite what I was searching for or expecting, but I'll wear it on days I want a sophisticated, clean & complex scent to compliment my day.

As someone mentioned, this is heavy on the honey. If I didn't know the notes I would say this is almond, marzipan, and honey perfume. I'm missing the rice or starchy notes here. I much prefer soft by poesie for a sweet perfume with a more forward rice/starch note. Edit for clarification: This has grown on me a little bit- but only a little bit. I really wish the jasmine actually smelled like the iced jasmine tea I get. Because that is delicious. I'm biased because I don't like honey or almond scents, they always smell like cheap soap and playdough to me. But I do think that is a personal problem. The packaging is beautiful and I hope someday I'll come around.

This fragrance is a beast and has massive projection. Opens with jasmine and rice powder. Smells like something that would give me an allergy but I dont mind! On drydown you get more starchiness, tea and just the faintest hint of warmth and sweetness from the benzoin. I find 2 sprays last me all night. I layer it with d.grayi's pandan and get so many compliments. Both perfumes are gorgeous and complex on their own but I do love them together. Another masterful work by d.grayi.

i was so excited when this arrived in the mail but.. i didn't like this one. it smelled way too powdery and chemically.
