Roan on Fire

Out of all the samples I'd got, I was most excited for this one. It had so many interesting notes that, while maybe not for fall specifically, it would emanate warmth and spice. Let me first state, it delivers. While the notes themselves read all over the place, everything compliments each other. Let me be frank, the initial spritz and about 30 minutes after is sensory overload. It had me worried that I was going to hate this tester. Once dried, I get more of the depth (or at least from the spritz on my wrist). While I'm still baffled that it says that it has pomelo and cherry notes (because I'm not getting those at all), the other notes are not what I expected. Maple, when I first read it, I thought it was going to be more akin to maple syrup. I am getting fresh fallen leaves, the hawthorn is subtle but sweet. I adore how the birch tar and benzoin keep this from being too spicey (fenugreek) and ground it. I'm not sure if I want this as an everyday scent, but I know I want it when I yearn for cooler weather. I wouldn't wear it to the office (it's strong and radiates past by arm), but I know if I did I'd get a lot of positive compliments. I would 100% suggest you grab a sample if you get the chance.
