Shiragoromo

A shimmering and gorgeous Japanese beauty, this is a lovely citrusy floral Oud. The combination of Yuzu, lemon, jasmine and rose with a lovely hint of natural Oud is so shimmeringly and delicately beautiful and resplendent that it just glows the moment it lands in my skin. The name translates to the traditional white cloth used in Japanese clothing and it is indeed a silken beauty with alternate shades of gold and silver hues that still maintains a beautiful delicate balance. Beautifully blended, long lasting and with moderate sillage this is pure craftsmanship and natural perfumery. Enjoy!

“Shira Goromo” is a Japanese word for white cloth. This fragrance smells clean, pure with an out of the shower feeling. It is a simple, natural blend of bright yuzu and earthy green woods. The opening is sweet and fresh thanks to the citruses notes combined with the bitterness of green woods. The center and the bottom is floral and woody thanks to beautiful blending of white rose, jasmine flower and the very rare Kyara oud tree. Well done!

My signature scent during summer and early autumn. Clean, pure, and therapeutic. This is one of the very few perfumes I feel comfortable wearing to a Japanese omakase at dinner. Di Ser again captures the essence of its intended theme - white cloth / pure / cleanliness. There is zero barn or "offensiveness" from the oud. Like Kyara, the oud gives off a clean mentholated feel. My 2nd favourite from the house (Kyara sits at number 1).

Nisshōki A bracing, sweet Yuzu opens the fragrance, contrasted by a gentle and slightly musky Oud. Shortly afterward, a lovely pair of Jasmine notes are perfectly accented by a delicate Rose. As the hours go by, the notes all meld together to form a crisp, yet powdery-sweet fragrance that is nothing short of breathtaking. simple. clean. pure.

This was a standout! 2nd to Kyara in my opinion, but feels muted compared to Lost In Flowers by Strangelove NYC. The citrus aids the freshness of jasmine while the subtle oud, combining with the natural indole, gives off a white musk vibe.

All the line of DI SER smells very very natural, and when I say natural I mean Botanical. Shiragoromo, which means veil of the goddess, in truth is a very unisex fragrance. It is green flowery woody, no agarwood or very little, smell more like patchouly or dark woods. Simple very clear radiant a bit balsamic little spicy. Reminds me King Kong by Kenzo in a far way. A Beauty. The bottle is not like in the picture, i mean, it is, but has on the right a white vertical label with a japanese written (ideogram), the name of the fragrance obviously that make very minimal and esotic the bottle "so japan" actually.

Jasmine, yuzu and on my skin a honeylike sweetness. Its not a sweet fragrance, but somehow there is something in the composition that make me think of honey. This is a lovely, springlike fragrance. It reminds me of an early morning in the mountains of Thailand. Sitting outside of my bungalow. The sun is still gentle, the complex smells of natural vegetation are being brought by the wind into my nervoussystem. Relaxing. I enjoy a lemon tea with honey. I walk barefoot to talk with the farmer working close to my bungalow. I get wafts from a jasmine bush in his garden. Shiragoromo is a happy bright fragrance, but its not like other citruses. The yuzu in the opening is prominent for a long time, but flowers balancing the overall feeling: not to light, not to heavy. Just perfect. This has an aura of magic, meaning it has the potentiality of altering states of mind, and for me to evoke memories. Many of Di Ser fragrances alter my state of mind. It must be the high quality natural ingrediences that play tricks with my mind, and I love it. Edit: after writing this I noticed that there is Kyara in this fragrance. As in Di Ser Kyara, I noticed that this fragrance also had this mind altering qualities. Kyara has been used in religious contexts to put people in certain spiritual states. Since I did not know the content before trying it, it was not a «placebo» in this case, but probably the Kyara performing its agency.

EDT: The following comment will be removed once the issue is corrected because I love this scent. It opens with a very bright genuine Yuzu, I use Yuzu juice in my cooking so I know, and it is well balanced with the florals and dries to the woody oud, my favorite part, it is a happy scent that is not really sweet. That is why in some ways I prefer Shiragoromo to Kyara which is of course all about the precious oud. To me, it shouldn't matter what the ingredient is when purchasing a fragrance. Buy what you love, not as some investment. Shiragoromo DOES NOT contain Kyara 伽羅, only Jinko 沈香. I emailed the perfumer to verify this and his reply is as below for those who can read Japanese. お問い合わせありがとうございます。 私は、篠原康幸と申します。これら香水を全て作っております。白衣には、香木の香りが入っていますが、伽羅ではなく、沈香が入っています。(This is the key sentence) 日本の香道では、香木をいくつかの名前で分類しています。伽羅、沈香、佐曽羅、真那加など この中の沈香が白衣に入っております。 その他、不明な点等ございました、連絡お待ちしております。ありがとうございました。 篠原康幸 DI SER LuckyScent description is correct with no mention of Kyara. The Japanese website also does not list Kyara but their English website does and I contacted the company, but they did not correct it so there you go. Maybe if enough people email their Japanese website, they will make the correction. It's a good fragrance but as most people don't know what Kyara smells like on its own, I think this is just plain misleading if not worse.

This one gives you 30 cm cleanness aura, maybe 20 cm. I find all the ingredients work in harmony. However the opening is slightly more citrusy. This burst is nearly immediately tamed by the rose and jasmines that show their spicy profile. Kyara has for me an elusive profile but I believe it contributes to the aerial, fresh overall sensation, pulling the whole clean accord up and not letting it fade. Kyara adds that extra to the clean clothes, clean body: a clean spirit. On a lover these the white clean sensation would be alluring. On my grandma, to put a lot of contrast, this would feel welcoming and spiritual. Shiragoromo, is something that I could use every day and for meditation. It could be a scent for keeping mind clear. I advice spraying conveniently on a crisp white shirt for making it last longer. (I didn't note any stains on mine but better do your own essays)

Shiragoromo opens simple and strong. Yuzu citrus pierces at first and softens quickly. Jasmine appears after a minute and the Rose leans towards the brightness of Geranium. There's a soft herbal funk. After 30 minutes the whole fragrance has softened right down. The yuzu persists, while the Jasmine has faded a lot on me. The Oud is soft, slightly green and comforting. Overall, a subtle, cool, sweet citrus skin scent.

As expected, this is heavy on the Jasmine and Rose. So it comes off as very feminine and squeaky. But if you're patient enough, wait an hour when it settles down and the woody aspect of this comes through. If you've tried their other scents that has Kyara such as their "Kyara" fragrance, you'll know that wonderful kyara woody smell. The kyara in this is nice, but the floral aspect of it, not so much.

When this went on this morning, it was citrus, rose and floral sweet -- a few hours in, and it's starting to smell like the inside of what boxes of Nike shoes smelt like in the 1990s -- not a criticism or even a complaint, just a scent observation. It's hard to word this any other way! I like it a few hours ago, and now it smells okay, but like a box of sneakers. Anyway, try this before you buy this.
