Diamond Diana

Complete surprise!!! I can attest to the fact that Diana Ross really smells like this! :) - having been fortunate enough to see her live on several occasions (and most recently, close enough to experience the sillage)... I could have sworn she was wearing some bespoke variant of Generation Woman by Stephane Humbert Lucas 777 . I sprayed this yesterday and though the notes are quite different, this fragrance reminds me of a lighter, more versatile GW, the presentation a perfect choice for its much more mainstream market. Based on the crystal clear color of the juice and name, I expected something a bit more crisp and clean, with the obligatory sacchrine-like sweetness of a celebrity fragrance.. Much to my surprise, this is unlike any "celebrity fragrance" I have ever encountered. This is quality perfume - a sensual, mysterious floral oriental. As someone who normally wears niche/oud-based fragrances, I can say that I really enjoy this perfume. The clear color stunned me a bit at first, but the actual fragrance is sexy, sophisticated, and rich. My 3 young sons are obsessed with the bottle - even snatched it a few times thinking it was a "real diamond".

God I love this perfume! The box is so luxurious I can’t get over how cheap it was! A lovely black velvet box with red and black ribbons on the top and it opens up with the fragrance sitting inside with a lovely little sleek card with a message from Diana inside. The liquid has turned a little yellow but I don’t mind as the perfume it’s self is still Devine. First spray it reminds me off obsession and it’s different from most other celeb fragrances on the market as it gives that ‘vintage’ feel. So spicy and warm with a powdery floral vibe. Definitely fits in with the 80s powerhouses and I can see Diana really wearing this. From the packaging to the fragrance and the longevity it’s amazing, lasts about 24 hours on the back off my hand and even longer when I spray it on my jumper or scarf. So glad I purchased this one 😊

It does resembles CK Obsession when you first spray, but it becomes clear in the dry down that it has a character of its own. It does not lasts or projects like Obsession, unfortunately. It does have a herbal roundness to it (I believe from the vetiver). I also perceive a "sweatiness" from the coriander. It is not stinky, but a realistic skin scent that is somehow different from a musky scent. I perceive the incense more active on this one, it is not warm/amber/sweet as Obsession, but strands to the herbal/green/aromatic side. A very unique fragrance that I like a lot, and will get a back up bottle asap. I don`t own/know anything quite like this one.

IMHO.....for me.....a "hidden gem". Ok yeah, it has a "vibe" of CK Obsession....Krizia Krazy....but Diana ends up "doing her own thing" in the end. During the final phases I get Obsession-ish type vibe.....but with Cabochard and/or Jean Courtier Coriandre vibes added....(?). This one is "my type" of fragrance...(individual results may vary). Mid-range performance/sillage first wearing. For under $20..??.....sure...why not ?? Love it !!

I like this perfume. At first sniff, I thought it might be a bit too powdery, but the warmth of the incense, sandalwood, cedar, and amber prevent that from being a stopping point for me. It's a different sort of approach to a celebrity fragrance, as many of the notes are so old-school oriental, which I love. This scent really grew on me.

This is definitely a unisex scent. It doesn’t match the packaging which seems to be geared towards women. The bottle is beautiful, but the rest of the presentation is a bit much. The scent does remind me of Obsession, but it is a lighter version. As her daughter said, it smells delicious.

Starts of like Calvin Klein's Obsession and then turns into a spicy, ambery, powdery, soft incense scent. This is very unisex. As soon as I opened the box I could smell the scent. It's exactly what I would expect Diana Ross to smell like. This was well executed and I like it very much. Smells elegant, rich, sexy, mysterious and yet warm. The packaging is beautiful and the scent is very special.

This smells like the dry down of Calvin Klein's Obsession, which is nice! It's like skipping dinner and heading straight for dessert. It's comforting, sensual, and a lovely perfume. I like that it is not the typical celebrity designer fragrance. To me, it pays homage to the diva scents of the 80's and early 90's, an era when fragrance companies weren't so hell-bent on likeability and achieving mass appeal that they diluted the juice-- and made them saccharine "please love me" sweet. There's nothing 'wrong' with the scent per se, but I don't reach for it often. Then again, I LOVE Obsession, and I rarely wear that either.

Diamond Diana Diana Ross the fragrance has beautiful packaging with an EXQUISITE diamond shaped bottle. I blind bought it because. . . IT'S DIANA ROSS! I KEEP it because IT'S DIANA ROSS! The actual fragrance. . . the juice? Diamond Diana Diana Ross is much too strong for me. To me, Diamond Diana smells like fresh laundry detergent but it's YELLING, I'M FRESH LAUNDRY DETERGENT! Again, I keep it for the above listed reasons. That is all. That is it. I love Diana Ross.

I bought this after liking the warm, spicy scent, but I've grown to dislike it more and more. It smells like a cologne to me, reminiscent of Obsession, but with a very synthetic feel to it. Feels like way overpriced bad quality from a questionable manufacturer (not speaking of the celebrity, but the actual company making the fragrance).

A true, living legend, and this is how they honor her ?! Yes, it will remind you of Obsession ... but a bottle that has been left in the sun for about 15 years. A huge misfire and a big disappointment. Diana deserves a "diamond" perfume, this is not it.

I don't really like it. It has a masculine scent to it and it smells too woody for me

Found this Diamond Diana (3.4 ounce size) in the discount bin at BIG LOTS for 8$, I am glad that I only paid 8$ Bucks for this becusee I could never see anyone paying more than that for this stuff. I checked on HSN and oh my god at one time this was sold for $75 dollars!! I think only her hard core fans would ever pay that price. The perfume smells highly synthetic, cheap, and smells like a Calvin Klein Obsession knockoff. I know that’s harsh to say but it’s true. It’s cheap stuff. It’s not even in production anymore and now I can see why...the packaging is nice but I nearly stabbed my self with the pointed plastic top. This has a potent synthetic scent to it, the fragrance doesn’t last long, in about one hour the fragrance smells like strong baby powder and then in about 2 hours it’s completely gone. Don’t waste your Money!!

I'm sorry. I received my bottle yesterday from HSN, and given the notes described on air and the enthusiastic marketing, I expected a much more "dynamic" fragrance. The word "confident" was used throughout Ms. Ross's visit, yet I don't get that with this scent at all. I agree with Mimila, that this does bear similarity to Obsession, but there is something lacking here, some type of a very FLAT note. There is something "plastic", or off-putting, about this fragrance that has me packing it up and preparing to send it back to HSN tomorrow. Given Diana Ross's esteemed accomplishments in her lifetime, this edp is a cheap tribute to her name. The only thing beautiful about it is the bottle. This was definitely a mistake!

I received this scent today and to my nose it smells very similar to Calvin Klein Obsession. At 80 U. S. dollars, I hoped that it would be more distinctive and different. The bottle is lovely and the box is unique. Am glad to have but will not repurchase. At HSN, they only sell the 100ml size and the rollerball is $39! I bought it during the pre sale (when it was slightly cheaper) and I feel the inflated price is mostly for the name and the packaging.

This is very cologne-vibe. It’s not my cup of tea. But. It’s got an essence to it. Very grown. I could see this being very headache vibes for me. Very fall and evening vibe as well. The bottle is actually pretty and the box unique.

Diamond Diana. This perfume is unique and long lasting. A pretty femme woody scent. Nothing else I have smells like it. I have a large collection. Lovely bottle. I like this one. Nice.

Tried it yesterday in Lord and tailor. Great opulent opening, seductive. Then turns into some thing strange and strong like herbal, can't tell which note it is, but not very pleasant.

American parent company, but entirely made in China. As the made in China product rapport goes, they tend to cut corners with what they use, so I’m skeptical about the contents

Can be unisex, but i do not recommend this. Very mature and strong. Incense with a strong musk. This gave me a major headache. Cheap smelling.

These reviews remind me of when Obsession first came out and a singer came out with a dupe, was it Dionne Warwick?
