Folie Oud

this was a blind buy for my partner, she wasn't too impressed with this fragrance, and as it's unisex, I decided to give it a try, I was surprised how this fragrance mixed so well with my skin HP and the long-lasting performance with just 4 prays and 10 hours later my partner can smell it on my skin; for the price, this fragrance is just a winner, nobody can complain about how nice the woody-oud and red fruits are noticeable during the dry down; the only problem is that later I found the fragrance too "femenine" to my taste, the scent is long lasting and leaves a long impression, but the drydown was too girly for my "old wolf type and style" so I gave it away to a friend that love this type of girly fragrances.

I haven’t smelled Arabians Tonka before, but Folie Oud instantly reminded me of Montale Intense Cafe (I have an Oil Perfumery dupe in a rollerball), which is also in the family of Mancera Roses Vanille. I DO have Mancera Instant Crush (some compare it to Arabians Tonka too), and that smells fresher than Folie Oud. I would have to revisit the notes to be able to tell you why. At any rate the Oud in this one is tops. Always puts me in a good mood to wear this. I got it in the winter, and I don’t know if it would feel too heavy in the summer.

Picked this up from TJ Maxx not expecting much, but I really enjoy it. Can be a bit overbearing for me, and while it doesn’t trigger migraines, if I do end up getting a migraine I can’t stand to smell this, so this is one that I will spray and walk into, and even then it lasts all day. Lasts even longer on fabrics; I have some scarves that will smell like this even over a week later. I love that it’s a unisex scent but I still feel feminine wearing it.

Quite a good one for a cheap, blue-green scent with a masculine makeup. The scent of dark red berries is the most dominant note for sure, and it dries nicely into a subtle and floral musk. The longevity wasn't anything special for me, though I've only worn it on clothes so it might be longer on skin.

This is great, such a deep and dark wood scent, just what I was looking for. It is also sweet, fruity and powdery so it is also quite feminine. The oud is stronger when smelled up close, for the fragrance cloud it just gives a bit of spiciness. This is great for a night out!

This cheapie is really good, oud is evidently synthetic but no remarkable quality difference to that of Montale or Mancera, which are absurdly expensive. Unpretentious but enjoyable for the price.

Im pressing "I had it" as I wear folie oud to send it out to a new owner through Vinted. I had no memory of this scent since I bought it, tried it, left it at the back of the shelf. Today I'm wearing it, and to me it's giving off hot fruit black tea, it's warm but light enough, saffron-y too. It's quite delicious and persistent, but a bit monotone. And still, I almost regret selling it. It almost sparkles, there's something celebratory about it. To the new owner: try it out on Christmas?

I found this on a whim at TJ Maxx. It smelled familiar and when I got home I realized it was definitely an almost 1:1 for Montale Arabians Tonka (which I own). This version is a lighter version which is great for work or layering. Either version -avoid overspray! :)

I really like this one, found it at my local rack store and picked it up. It does really smell like a fresher and lighter Arabians Tonka. So if you like that profile but think it's too heavy to wear on a dialy basis then this one might do the trick.
