D by Diesel

Honestly out of the recent lavander-vanilla releases, this my favourite! It's well rounded, tiny bit spicy from the ginger. Realistic fresh lavander with creamy vanilla. I've got a 50 ml bottle for 40€ so even in the price point it's the best option. Truly unisex but as a reference I am a woman. Edit: Just wanted to mention that I found the YSL Libre line too masculine. Somehow to my nose that lavender is too harsh. If you are a woman and you like that line I think this is a safe choice. Also this perfume is STRONG. One spray lasted on my skin for 8+. It was projecting well for 6 hours.

I really enjoy this scent and its become one of my favorite cheap pickups over the past several years. Very unisex vanillic type of scent. Women love this DNA on a guy. I actually wear this casually more than channel allure hoome sport eau extreme. If you are looking for something cheap thats blind buy worthy give this a look. Rating 8.5/10..

Slightly metallic. $39 on eBay and other resellers so 1 extra star for its price and nice looking bottle - but sadly not much else going on with this fragrance.

I was sent this in PR but it was too masculine on me. However, this smelled DELICIOUS on my boyfriend. I literally want to follow him round just to keep smelling it. If you’re into masculine-leaning unisex scents, especially those with lavender, go for this! I love it on him.

I'm a 34 year old woman, mother of 2 young children. My partner loves it and I love it. I feel it is truly unisex. He personally always loved lavender and now I come to love it as well. Very simple but nice fragrance. Suitable for any weather in my opinion.

I have to say, this is maybe Diesels best release - ever. The opening is just ok but the dry down is exquisite and grows on you if you give it a chance. I say this is currently quite underrated. Reminds me of: Authentic Night by Abercrombie & Fitch.

Armani code clone but fresher and lasts longer. Actually Smells better than code parfum and edp.

very sweet and incredible for spring but can be very synthetic

Purchased after testing and being intrigued by it since its Diesel's most recent unisex offer, I've never really tried any of the latest feminine offerings from Diesel, so I was curious about how it would smell. The opening is very masculine with a huge hit of medicinal lavender and ginger, it sort of reminds me of Cool Water which my dad used to wear all the time when I was a kid, but it doesn't (on me at least, thankfully!) have that toilet cleaner accord which I always manage to pick up on in Cool Water for men. The intense opening does tone down a lot after 15 minutes though and it settles, becomes softer and makes me feel like I'm being wrapped in a cocoon made of Mr Gin's freshly washed t-shirts, Diesel lists a Denim Cotton accord and I think that this is what gives D that soft, cocoon-like nature, a gentle dusting of vanilla gives it some warmth and finishes off the entire composition. The longevity on me is pretty good, I get 8hrs out of it with a moderate silage. I specifically stated Mr Gin's t-shirts because while D is aimed at the unisex market, to me its like the olfactive equivalent of wearing your boyfriends shirt or hoodie, while it isn't groundbreaking or unique, its pleasant, fresh and easy to spray on and go, I find it rather comforting and super casual, so I don't think I'd personally wear it to work, but its perfectly suited to wearing around the house and running errands, especially when I'm in need of something comforting. Repurchase? probably! its a "like" so far

I already got a sample of this and was able to test it a few times. Unisex releases by mainstream designers are still quite rare and I love lavender and vanilla, so I was rather curious about this. It basically smells like a male designer release, but a little softer and sweeter than usual. For my own taste it's a tad too masculine leaning, but I can easily see it on a woman who has a more sporty sense of style. I have no idea what Diesel clothes look like at the moment, but it fits the image they had back in the 2000s when they were really popular. The lavender is fresh, clean and aromatic and plays the main role in this. My sample also lists a "denim cotton accord", and I can definitely smell that, too. A fresh laundry accent. The vanilla is noticeable, but looms in the background. It's creamy and bright, not edible, just there to round out the edges of the scent. I think this is a nice casual daytime fragrance, an easy reach when you want something unisex and uncomplicated, but don't feel like wearing a citrus freshie. No masterpiece, but it has its time and place. If I had to compare it to something, I'd say Replica Coffee break and Ariana Grande R.E.M. are in the same ballpark, but sweeter and more gourmand.

Just dropped a review of this on my Youtube "Rotten Rebel" and to me it's a blast of spicy freshness from bergamot and ginger in the opening and that denim cotton accord brings it something soft and warm. The dry down is aromatic and sweet with lavender and vanilla and the whole scent is basically a blend of somthing fresh, something creamy and aromatic with vanilla and lavender and I think it's a pretty good release from Diesel. It reminds me of something else and I do not think it's something unique, but it does smell nice and most people will most likely think you smell good with it on. It's a very easy-to-wear and easy-to-like scent with above-average performance. It's marketed towards both men and women and I do think it will smell good on both. Have a fantastic day!

I blind bought this for my 19 year old son and upon spraying it, I liked it well enough to keep it and get him another perfume. First of all, the bottle with the positive message grabbed my attention. Something about the scent is very familiar, meaning I own or owned something pretty similar. It’s sweet, it’s uplifting, it’s youthful, it’s uncomplicated. It’s good. Nothing groundbreaking or niche about it but it is really nice and makes you feel good when you wear it. Perfect for casual carefree moments and outings. Unisex so something the whole family can wear. Perfect for the beach or lounging by the pool having barbecue. This is my first Diesel perfume and it is a great blond buy.

A really good fresh vanilla scent that can come off as generic but it still smells pleasant for the mast majority of people. However though, the dry down turns into a soft vanilla soapy scent with a hint of lavender and musk that I can't get enough of, it compliments on my skin really well. The projection is moderate but can get overwhelming if you overspray it. For me, this is truly a unisex fragrance, the top note leans more masculine but I can see women wearing this too. Overall, very happy with this fragrance and got this on discounters for half the price, worth it.

I’m not usually a fan of lavender forward fragrances, but this one is an exception. It smells familiar, nostalgic even.. but I can’t quite put my finger on how or why. It is a bit generic, but it’s not bad. Definitely unisex, leaning more masculine. It feels strangely cosy and comforting for what it is. It’s nothing super special but it’s better than what I was expecting. I suggest sniffing and seeing for yourself. Edit: I still like this, and might get a full bottle now. It’s very versatile and has slightly better than average performance.

This thing is amazing.Fresh,Aromatic fragnace that you can wear all year around but mostly spring and summer.I am a younger guy and with this fragnace i got many compliments at school even from teachers.Just spray a little bit more like 5 sprays and you will be smelling fresh for 5-6 hours

I know everyone hates on this as it's very generic but I personally love it. It smells really comforting on my skin so I put it on whenever I don't feel like wearing anything complex, just an easy, clean, pleasant, happy scent. 7/10

Huge fan of sweeter scents, especially vanilla, and this is no exception. Great scent for someone just getting into perfumes. Good price point, suitable year round, and relatively overspray safe.

A nice soapy lavender/vanilla blend as the note breakdown suggests. Quite basic but can see this being a pleasant + casual spring time scent :)

The 1 oz with shower gel has made its way to mega retailer Sam's Club in America as part of a Valentine's Day promotion. Picked it up for about $25 out of pure curiosity, having sadly lost interest in the fragrance industry in the wake of bigger issues in global politics since 2017 and the oversaturated market that made it harder to keep up. Definitely a versatile fragrance gender-wise based on its heavy reliance on heavily ubiquitous stalwarts lavender and vanilla, but it's nicely blended and sticks heavily around and projects strongly. What you get isn't that fascinating scent wise, a very sweet vanilla meets fabric softener meets lavender field accord that is pretty solid in its performative aspects. The scent itself won't present to you anything you haven't smelled elsewhere before, but it has a pleasance about it from its professional layering that would well for newbies as a signature scent at work, school or even on a formal evening. It's a very narrow fragrance in regards to its scent accords and it evolves very little over the entire wear, but the accord balance is so effective in its construct that you could wear this winter-summer as a signature fragrance. It's nice for me as a novelty in that it has a little bit more a feminine leaning lavender and vanilla combo than I own in my collection, but I also don't feel it was something I needed but I'll enjoy it regardless.

The vanilla sweetness definitely comes through and the dry-down is a quite nice, soft lavender. However, I think there is a muskiness that leans slightly more on the male side. I can definitely see this working for a guy who is looking for a clean but a little sweet, office-appropriate scent that's not overly masculine. I could see this being worn year-round, but the scent sits close to the skin and the staying power is not great. For the girls, get YSL Libre Intense instead, it's the same vanilla & lavender vibe but it's gorgeous and it lasts.

D By Diesel – Somehow this really does smell like vanilla clothing. I don’t know how else to explain it, but that fuzzy cotton smell is very soft and textile-like, especially with the added vanilla and lavender. A spring and fall, transitional season scent. Too cloying for a hot summer but daytime winter would work. Fairly youthful but anyone could pull it off. Surprisingly good longevity as well. It’s alright. 5.5/10

The opening scent reminded me of a shower gel, the bergamot stood out and slightly overruled the fragrance leaving it with a sharp nose feel. Upon first experiences it mimicked denim with the cotton notes. The leading to a pleasant dry down with the lavender and vanilla notes taking a forward stance

received a free sample, it’s as generic sweet young guy as you would think. My reaction was “ok!”. It smells like several diesel perfumes I smelled before. Might sell well because it’s generally pleasant but if someone is to spend >80 euros, there are more exciting fragrances out there.

A generic, everyday, OK masculine scent with prominent vanilla and lavender notes for a 55+ y.o. who wants to feel clean and be presentable. It reminds me of some aftershaves my father uses and he usually gets them from the Lidl supermarket.

Typical diesel DNA, could (almost) pass as a new only the brave summer flanker. Very sweet, nothing new IMO, but I do enjoy it. I prefer sweeter fragrances. Overall I’d say typical younger, sweet and has that club vibe to to it

Very very generic and boring. It's not bad or offensive, it's just that it smells like 60% of the candles in Bath & Bodyworks that don't have any discernible difference between each other.

Meh, Very generic fresh shower scent... It smells ok, clean... Faint ginger and vanilla combo Longevity and sillage is weak, no lasting power Definitely wait for bargain for this one

On a side note, I’m glad I got a 1 oz bottle opposed to the 3.4 oz bottle. I’m sure I’ll be over it after less than 1/4 of the bottle is gone.

Good fresher vanilla lavender, unisex, don’t overspray, lasts a while, can sting in others noses if you overspray

Extremely bland, nothing special. The sweetness of lavender/vanilla is headache inducing.

This sample was part of an 18 scent department store gift set so tried it out.. The scent overall is kinda nice I guess though a little more on the non-masculine/feminine male side, but Diesel uses the slogan 'let's build the change' to advertise it which is basically woke social-political bull nonsense code. This makes the cologne worthy of the trash.. Shame Diesel and other designers can not just market their colognes on positive imagery of what the smell conveys instead of liberal ideological propaganda bile a cologne or perfume has no business concerning itself with..

I don’t know if it’s my skin but bizarrely I get a pork belly odour from this, it’s the sharp fatty smell you get when shredding pork belly, it hit me straight away and now that’s all I can smell. Frags don’t usually act strange on my skin but if I’m the only one noticing this then it’s probably me.

This is extremely synthetic, cloying and headache inducing. I would not recommend this to anyone The sweetness is sticky, sickening and disgusting. The lavender is extreamly synthetic to a sickening degree. And the vanilla is bland and almost rotten. -10/10

To my nose Diesel D smells like parfums de Marley Layton. It can only be the lavender and vanilla but as they dry down they smell the same on me

This is like Armani Code Absolu, but fresher with less powder and spice, which is good for me because I hate powdery fragrances. Even the fragrances that I like/love that are powdery, I wish they weren't. If this wasn't so late to the game, I might have even said it was better than the others it gets compared to. It was love at first sniff, but after spending time with it I must say that it isn't great. Definitely not horrible, but pretty much what you could expect from a brand like Diesel - just meh. Once this starts to dry down, it has that generic blue fragrance smell to it. So a fresher Armani Code Absolu up top, then blue fragrance in the base. Don't love it, but can't knock it.

It's here and there for me, not really that manly, but not unisex either. It's okay. Been sitting in my drawer for a while now. I've mixed it with a spray of Fakhar Black sometimes, and it's pretty good together, by itself it's a little meh. Don't blind buy, the scent is something I haven't really ever smelled. If you want to be different, buy this. I love lavender, but Vanilla and Lavender together is a little... Interesting. The Vanilla scent is a little "stale", so it doesn't really fit warm weather/summer. I think for fall/spring this is a great choice in the rotation. 8/10. There is potential. Don't blind buy. Good price though and mine was on sale.
