D Red by Diesel

I've just sprayed this today and my first impressions are wow. It opens with a succulent juicy blood grapefruit note, which is quite prominent and loud, it then blends into the Lavender, a smooth lavender smell not dirty. Then being accompanied by the Sandlewood, it is a warmer weather fragrance through and through, although could work in Autumn (or Fall for Americans). Design and bottle wise, it's the same as D by Diesel, but in a stark red bottle, which is fitting for the opening note to be Blood Grapefruit. I have D BY Diesel and it is the most interesting bottle to look at from a distance because of its unique shape and having another in the same line but a different colour, to me makes it feel like this isn't the last we've seen of the D by Diesel line. Are there better fragrances out there that smells similar? Yes, to me I'm getting a hint of K by Dolce & Gabbana, but this has its own 'oomph' if you will, it can stand its own against the aforementioned fragrance. Is it blindbuy worthy? For a safe and inoffensive fragrance, it would be a great blind buy - but only for people newer or just starting out in the Fragrance community / collection. This isn't anything special for avid collectors, this will be my gym scent during the warmer months though. For the people giving it bad reviews before even smelling it, give it a chance.

I didn't expect to fall in love with this fragrance. It reminds me of 90s fragrances (synthetic), but in a positive way. In this case, it's a fruity (artificial grapefruit) and slightly soapy smell, but not really sweet (thank god !). Performance is average-good. It's a versatile fragrance. I currently wear it at my job (assistant principal at a secondary school). It is currently relatively cold in Canada. But I plan to wear Red D during the upcoming summer vacation to Las Vegas (extreme heat). In short, a great discovery. EDIT : 03/24/24 I received an unsollicited compliment by a woman at grocery. EDIT : 03/26/24 I received a compliment by a coworker (10 hours after my first application).

I really like this fragrance. Imo it ́s a perfect summer fragrance. I think pretty much everybody will like the smell and you will definitely get compliments with it. The only problem I have with it, is that it ́s so expensive. If you buy it retail without any kind of discount, 25ml will cost around 50 euros wich is insane. Yes it smells fantastic and unique and I know there ́s more expensive fragrances out there but it ́s still quite a lot. Even tho it ́s expensive it will still probably be my next scent for summer 25.

Fresh sweet grapefruit with a bubble gum vibes, last a decent time on clothes, it's nothing ground breaking but it's an addicting scent. Signature scent worthy, I would love to smell like this 24/7.

Similarly to many others here i recieved a free sample of D red from instagram. Its an easy to wear, clean, versatile, but still a sweet and fruity fragrance. The grapefruit is the frist thing that hits my nose, and while synthetic, its very pleasant and refreshing. From looking at other reviews the main problem people seem to be having is that its 'boring' and 'one-dimensional', but i see no problem in wearing a simple fragrance from time to time, if anythign they get the most compliments from both my girlfriend and strangers. A lot of people on this site are extremely snobby and hold themselves on a high horse because they like ultra-niche animalistic fragrances and refuse to accept that a nice, clean, fruity fragrance still has a firm place in the market. Is this fragrance going to blow the minds of connoisseurs? no. Is it meant to? also no. I'd happily reccomend anybody to give this a try, especially younger men aged 15-25, and women who dont mind a slightly woodier and masculine scent. Overall id give it a solid 7.5-8/10

D Red by Diesel. This fragrance features this distinctive sweet and Diesel-style. Like (the Fuel for life line). It’s a vibrant, youthful fragrance that combines fresh citrus and spicy notes, evoking a dynamic, energetic vibe that at beginning is tiny soapy and reminds me a body spray (cherry/cinnamon) odor. It’s basic and a safe choice for everyday wear, offering a familiar, comforting aroma that's hard to dislike. Perfect for a night out, as its invigorating aroma is sure to draw compliments. The performance is not beast mode but stay in the skin a little while. Rate: 🥈

Mmmmm difficult. At first I liked it. Very reminiscent of JB Silver Scent DNA, which is a nostalgic classic for me. Thing is, there’s something really horrible in D Red. I can’t put my finger on it but it’s indescribably horrible, especially in the dry down. I also get the vibe that this is something that a fat, chronic masturbator, dorky neck beard man who lives in his parents basement would wear this as his signature scent.

on opening the sandalwood is very strong but slowly becomes more lavender. I dont smell any grapefruit in this. Its deff more male leaning but it would be too out of the question for females to wear this. Its not an addicting or mindblowing scent tho, its just there. Not saying it doesnt smell good but if i walked past someone wearing this im not inclined to give a compliment.

This is pretty sharp and woody. I get a violet leaf in here although it isn't mentioned. Got good projection and okay longevity for a Diesel scent. Would make a good gym scent.

Fresh, aromatic and woody scent. Modern casual day scent for spring. Safe. Nothing unique, but nothing bad either.

Nice smell, but fails to project any smell after about 30-60 minutes 😅

The opening is very good, fresh and clean. However, it lasts only for a minute, literally a minute. Then it starts turning into a strong synthetic smell of a shower gel. The more the time goes, the stronger the scent of a shower gel, to the point where it's too synthetic and too hard. The projection is very poor, it's a skin scent after half an hour, atleast on me. It stays few hours on the skin. This can be used if your going in/out the gym or anywhere where you might sweet so you wanna smell like you just got out of the shower. Overall nothing special, won't buy ever again.

This fragrance is unsatisfactory; its fruity and zesty notes create an excessively feminine and juvenile profile, unsuitable for a mature wearer. Furthermore, its longevity and projection are deficient. 2.3/10

Notes looked nice but man this is literally just shower gel

The opening smells really good, with strong notes of citrus and lavender. There's this cool minty vibe that I really like, but sadly it only lasts for 3-5 minutes on my skin (a bit longer if I spray it on clothes). After about an hour, it turns into a sweet, kind of synthetic lavender smell. That's when the sandalwood kicks in too. The drydown is pretty much the same as the middle notes, just more subtle. Who would dig this cologne? Well, it's definitely for the younger crowd, like teens up to early twenties. Perfect for high school or college settings. But here's the kicker: it's way overpriced, like $95 at Macy's! I mean, come on, you can find way better-smelling options for that kind of cash, like Paco Rabanne or Jean Paul Gaultier. Honestly, I thought this would be more like a $20-30 scent, but boy was I wrong. Not worth the splurge. When to rock it? Keep it super casual – jeans, shorts, or anything sporty. How does it feel to wear it? Personally, I wasn't feeling it after the opening. It kinda smelled too synthetic, almost like the cologne aisle at Walmart. But hey, for the right crowd, it might hit the spot and feel all sensual and nice. How long does it last? It's pretty average, hanging around for about 5-6 hours. The opening's short-lived, just 5 minutes, then the middle notes stick around for 2 hours, and the drydown fades out over 2-3 hours. Would I recommend it? Nah, I'd say pass and go for something like Paco Rabanne, Jean Paul Gaultier, Ralph's Club, or Montblanc instead. Much better value for your money.

This is an absolutely abysmal fragrance, one of those scents where you really lose faith in the market. As anyone could have easily guessed, D Red is a horrifically obnoxious concoction of cheap, messy materials and screechy aroma chemicals. It’s dominated by this weird note of grapefruit, which couldn’t smell farther from anything remotely natural. Combine this with the horrifically bad quality lavender than most designer scents seem to use these days, and you’ve got a migraine in a bottle. Overall, this is simply disgusting. A very poorly made scent with no interest or appeal, there’s nothing else that can be said about it.

This is a sour and greasy scent that belongs in 2 places - a club toilet or discounted on a shelf in TK Maxx.

I also got a free sample of this from Instagram and I have to admit I did not have high hopes - the last time I wore a Diesel fragrance I was about 13 years old, and I personally think of the brand as being cheap fragrances for people who don’t care much what they wear. However, this really surprised me - it’s lovely and fresh, I’d definitely wear it. I think the shower gel comparison is fair, but that’s great in my opinion, that’s what you buy this kind of fragrance for, to smell really fresh and clean and mass appealing.

The opening of this was quite pleasant, maybe a bit "Barbour Shop" if a little synthetic but the longer it dried down the worse it got. Possibly a reaction on my skin but it turned very spicy and peppery like id sprinkled peppercorns into a hot frying pan and singed them. It was bitter. Overall very synthetic and only the opening was okay
