Only The Brave Extreme

The airy florals and diaphanous apple/vanilla/benzoin combo make this one of my favorite fragrances to wear in spring; it somehow captures the magic of that moment when all manner of trees and plants begin to flower. Tucked in the background, but not unnoticeable, is a subtle blend of spice leather and wood that shares a little something with African Leather and, more closely, Layton. A bit of camphor and cedar and subtle patchouli. Maybe the best way to summarize the appeal of this scent is to say it smells like what you would imagine if PDM were to release "Layton Eau Fraiche."

A deliciously masculine vanilla-sweet green apple fragrance. Only The Brave Extreme is in essence a vanilla-like tonka beans scent wrapped with fruity green apple & musky leather that creates this attractive, sweet gourmand drydown aroma. I was honestly surprised it doesn't have vanilla but it turns out tonka beans can smell very vanilla. Also, the highly-voted rose note is undetectable to me. Overall, an underrated gourmand release from Diesel. Love!

Wow a sweet citrusy rose leather fruity scent with extra performance. What else?Not good for summer. 9/10 good for Winter autumn and spring in many occasion. Night in club, date,shopping,not for Work, good for a night out.or day out. Good rose. Wow.

This new extreme version of only the brave is the best of the lot, its stronger better longer lasting and a compliment getter from girls, i like it very much if you consider buying one of the flankers buy this one.

This frag is pretty much the original but a lil bit more mature and longer lasting,there are differences in both but I seem to like this more than the original.8.5 out of 10

Review based off 2ml sample What does it smell like? = it smells like fresh, clean, woody, masculine, clubbing scent with an undertone of some floral which may be from the rose and the wood smell may be from leather. The smell is synthetic though, no natural notes in this Do I like it? yes I actually quite like this, straight from the top note to base notes it's enjoyable and can't go wrong with fresh and clean smelling fragrances, I also love the wood notes in fragrances (even though it says there is none) and generally I dislike floral notes but diesel understand that you only need enough to balance out the other notes not make it a main note. So that's what they've done here is used just enough floral to be noticeable but not overpowering other notes it just really lightens it up a little bit more, adds some depth and it's balanced really well This projects well, it's strong, it's long lasting and not offensive unless everyone is wearing it at the club. Only problem is it's a scent that you will get bored of very quickly and if you wear it or smell it too often will actually start to hate this. So spray lightly, don't wear it too often because you'll hate it if you wear it too much where as some other fragrances seem to be timeless that you will never get tired of just not this one A person that would wear this is someone going to the club or someone at gym, maybe a person who does sports and just got straight out the shower. Since it's quite masculine it can be worn by older guys but it's also fresh & clean allowing it to be worn by younger guys too since the fresh & clean smell comes across as youthful but the wooden notes also allow it to be worn by older guys. Ages 18-35 seem like a good age for this fragrance Occasions = day time and hot weather fragrance, better for the day and spring/summer My opinion is the score on here is underrated, i'd rate it 8/10 or a 4/5 on here

This is IMO what the original Only The Brave should have smelled like. Extreme is much less synthetic than the original, has a bright opening, and is made a little more mature by the addition of a rose note. It's just overall a deeper and better fragrance. There's a youthful leather at the heart of this fragrance sweetened by tonka, and in that regard Extreme is still putting up no fronts regarding its target audience. Any young man could pull this off. I could easily see this being someone's signature in high school or college. Versatility is pretty good; I think you could wear this in all but hot weather. Longevity, projection, and sillage - as we've come to expect from Diesel - are all excellent. If you liked the original but found it - how can I put this? - slightly amateurish, I would strongly suggest giving this fragrance a try. It keeps most of what made Only The Brave appealing while improving upon most of what it lacked. Perfect flanker to my nose.

My opinion changed a little bit since my last review but I will say the opening is a little harsh but that dry down is nice. I can now pick up on the tonka since my nose has adjusted to this fragrance and I think the tonka in the dry down makes this scent way better but you have to wait about an hour to notice it. Honestly I wish they just keep the dry down and get rid of all the other notes because that tonka with the styrax and labdanum is gorgeous

Tried it this weekend Just like the name says, it is na extreme version of the original Only The Brave. Opens up citrusy and then you get that familiar leather from the original one. If you thought that the original OTB wasn't strong enough, then you should try this one :)

Only the brave extreme has a sweet and festive smelling opening, and the drydown it has a sweet masculine smell. Great for night outs, dates etc. It also has good performance. Overall a nice fragrance from diesel and I give it a 8/10.

I don't know why I like this synthetic mess so much! It is cloying and too loud, but I like it. It's my guilty pleasure.

Diesel Only The Brave Extreme EDT opens with a moderate projection of very sweet, fruity, citrus, and resinous notes. The opening is bold, young, common, syrupy, and pleasant. The apple, mandarin orange, and lemon create a delectable, sweet, and fruity note that gives the fragrance a fresh and honied character; it is not long before the leather and tonka become noticeable. The sweetness of the tonka joins the fragrance making it dense, aromatic, and sugary. The leather and labdanum also join with their projecting, and dense notes. The styrax does the same and it is a noticeable note that, with the leather and labdanum make the fragrance resinous, ambery, sweet, and dense. At this point, the initial citrus, fruity, and sweet notes have significantly dissipated, in their place, the styrax, labdanum, and leather have settled down as the featured notes. The coriander and the roses are just a spicy and very soft floral touch, both support notes. The fragrance has a significant opening to dry down change, the opening favors the sweet fruity, and citrus notes; however, as the fragrance dries down, these initial notes take two steps down and, in their place, the tonka bean, styrax, labdanum, and leather assume the top position. Once Diesel Only The Brave Extreme EDT has reached its full dry down, it can be summarized as a moderate projection, very sweet, resinous, tonka, styrax, leather, and labdanum fragrance with fruity and citrus accords. The fragrance feels casual, common, delectable, dense, leathery, masculine, mild, moderate-quality, modern, sweet resinous, short-live, simple, sweet, syrupy, warm, and pleasant. I wanted to like this as I am a big fan of the original. This shares some similarities to that but has more of the leather and is less fresh than the original. I was hoping that the performance of this would be noticeably more/better than the original as this is an extreme flanker but unfortunately not. This has louder projection of skin compared to the original, but this only lasts a little bit longer. I get about 6-6 1/2 hours out of this, and about 5 hours out of the original. If this lasted a bit longer I would really like this but the performance was disappointing for an extreme flanker. I got a 50ml for £31 so for the price very solid. Overall this is a solid fragrance in its own right, gets compliments and performs okay, but as an extreme flanker to the original only the brave edt this fragrance isn't very good.

Opening is fairly brutal. Clash of citrus and a prominent apple. Not the greatest start. Starts to settle after 5 or so minutes into a smoother leather and tonka combination. Not picking up much rose. Some spice lingers. OTB Wild is my favourite from this range, but I wouldn’t rush out and buy another bottle soon. Mrs thought it was a nice scent. Middle-of-the-road drop IMO. Edit: No idea how some people have compared this with Guerlain’s L’Homme Ideal. Ouch.

Only The Brave Extreme opens with candied orange, shortly joined by apple. The sweet apple is soon combined with warm, smooth leather and coumarinic tonka. In the heart, there is an odd, synthetic freshness which clashes with the warm, earthy, darker notes of leather, tonka & resins. The dry-down is a smooth, vanillin glazed leather. Here, this perfume is at its most likeable. Performance in all aspects is average for an EdT. Overall, Only The Brave Extreme is not a great scent to my nose. The notes are poorly defined and harshly rendered, and the overall smell is synthetic in a jarring and slightly unpleasant way, particularly in the heart, even if the dry down proves slightly more likeable. This is low end designer juice made for young party-goers, entirely generic & cheap smelling. A much better executed and more elegant alternative, with similar notes & structure, is Trussardi's Riflesso.

Can't say I'm a fan of this one. The fruity notes are just too sharp, and once again more tonka bean "coumarin" really getting over it ! They've really gotta tone down the sweetness in perfumes these days, it's all just becoming too French ! Fruit, coumarin and resin, just not my thing. I love resins in perfume but not like this.

I'm not even going into the notes, it's not for me. OTBE smells insipid and harsh in the opening, drying down to something bearable after an hour or two but still pretty cheap and awful. I'm sure it will sell but it's not even as good as the original or that army camo one they brought out last year. Not good.

OTB Extreme, synthetic, fresh burst on the first spray, sweet on the dry down, long lasting. Nothing special though, just a solid saccharine reliable fragrance!

This has a wonderful masculin smell to it sorta chalky rose with a touch of baby powder mixed with cashmere suede with the lightest splashes of Lemon orange lime apple essence and a vanilla wafer dusty rose skin scent it's nice and intense in the beginning with everything hitting you at once mixed round like they knew what they were doing then it slowly calms smoothly the entire time it's one of those scents that you worry that you haven't sprayed enough but don't worry your cool at least to everyone around you,they would say hey you smell clean sexy nostalgic and it curiously may cause strangers you come across drawn in to touch you and whisper let's meet in the back for 20mins of heaven even though masculin I could definitely see some alternative fun adventurous Lori Petty tank girl's to wear it too Edit: I forgot to mention that if you sniff immediately after spraying you pick up the lightest smell of petrol , Don't let that or anything I said scare you I really couldn't imagine anyone else not liking Diesel OTBE , While in today's world of a zillion flanker's and mutilated favorites with the most important part of each fragrance completely ripped out by the spine and repackaging the left overs in new bottles or flacons This has great projection silage about 4 to 5 hours which is better than the majority of fragrances these days definitely don't over spray it's light and powerful at the same time Great Blind buy I got mine for a measly $ 40.00 USD the chalkiness would best be described as crushed marble it smells nice clean and keeps the fragrance on your skin longer than most Yes partial synthetic but at least it's original and I haven't smelled this before I would definitely ask a guy wearing this out so would women

I know of many men that own and love the original Only The Brave, including my fiance. Whilst the original has excellent longevity, this latest flanker, Only The Brave Extreme has a stronger projection on the skin with added notes of green apple, tonka bean, and a heavier leather accord. Only The Brave Extreme smells slightly sweeter than the original, all thanks to the vanillic tonka bean accord. I like this added sweetness, however, I realise that it won't appeal to everyone. The original is very dry and masculine, whereas Only The Brave Extreme has an obvious fruity-sweet vibe. My fiance loves wearing sweet masculine scents, and I love them on him too, so it's no surprise that he owns many scents from Diesel. Only The Brave Tattoo is another excellently composed sweet masculine that I recommend trying if you haven't already. Only The Brave Extreme, in my opinion, would work well as a cooler weather scent, even versatile enough to be worn on nights out due to its bold sillage. The leather note is perfectly placed in this fragrance's composition keeping the scent masculine and edgy. I would highly recommend trying this scent if you already enjoy the original as it's different enough to justify owning both.

Really nice fragrance on top and mid. Dry down is still good but not as good at the top and mid notes. I can see this being a compliment monster. Im planning on picking the extreme version soon. I hear reformulation occurred on the original, I had no issues with performance with original when I tried 2 days ago so this reformulation thing perhaps is not true Either way extreme sounds more appealing :)

Like a lot of people I prefer to wear fresher scents in summer such as citrus, aquatic, etc. In winter I like darker heavier scents like leather, tobacco and woods. The problem with this Diesel cologne is it has all of those notes making it a lost soul. It's like a dude trying to be good at everything but ends up good at nothing.

This stuff is just amazing I have 200 fragrances in my collection and I’ll admit I wasn’t interested in even buying it but I didn’t have it right so had to get it. So glad I did cause this smells AMAZING!!! It kinda reminds me of Ultra Male but with less Pear. The performance is beastly!

I bought this online 50ml for 15€ , very good fragrance. Opens very fruity,synthetic,sweet and becames more mature on drydown, the performance its good with 7 sprays you will feel the fragrance for 8h with no problems, projection its good for 2h .I recomend if you find a good deal .

Without a doubt the best dry down of all only the brave flankers. The leather is smoother and very clean. longevity 8 hrs. It is still synthetic as you can expect of a diesel fragrance. very pleasant.

At the dry down smells exactly the same as the original but little bit synthetic... original is more fresh and not synthetic in my opinion. Strong performance..Girls loves it..suitable for club

Citrusy and leathery pleasent clubbing fragrence. Lasts the whole work day. I personally use it almost everyday during spring.

Smells near identical to the original but as its name suggests it's darker and a little stronger.
