Sound Of The Brave

Smells like the new Scandal Pour homme by Jean Paul Gaultier. It's sweet and warm very nice! I think it will be very popular. I definitely recommend sampling! It's a mass appealing sweet designer, not much to dislike here really

Diesel Sound of the Brave is an obvious flanker of Only the Brave. Not just in bottle design, but with the smell. Both fragrances have lemon in the open and amber in the base. Granted Sound of the Brave made it amberwood which does smell similar. I got this when it was on sale on Macy's around the Christmas shopping time. Sound of the Brave has some lemon and juniper on the open. Now when i say lemon, know it is more a citrus but not super distinctly lemon. In the mid, I get some cumarin like smelling sweet grass. The base is full of amberwood. I want to say there maybe more going on with Sound of the Brave, but it is synthetic similar to what it is a flanker of it. It seems rather stripped down compared to Only the Brave. Sound of the Brave is kind of a modernized Only the Brave. Only the Brave came out in a time when fragrances were going into a sweet direction, but they were not as common. Not that Only the Brave isn't modern, it was released when 1 Million was still new and influenced some fragrances like Invictus. I feel Sound of the Brave is a bit more modern though. It has some Only the Brave to it along with Ultra Male or more closely, Zara Gourmand Leather. Sound of the Brave I feel is more unique than most. This sounds a bit counter-intuitive since it smells similar to a fragrance or two. But remember, Ultra Male isn't really as common even if it is a fragcom favorite. Sound of the Brave isn't anywhere near as strong as Ultra Male and is about Gourmand Leather strength at its best. Honestly I think Sound of the Brave is a better Ultra Male. That is because it is reigned in. Sound of the Brave will work at work because it isn't as strong as Ultra Male. It can also work for dates. Now yes, the bottle is tacky like most Diesel but nobody will see it except your date if they stay over. Sound of the Brave IMHO is a really nice scent but the only knock is it isn't as strong of a performer as Only the Brave. Does it smell better, yes. That said Only the Brave was influential even if itself was lampooned for the bottle design. Sound of the Brave is even less groundbreaking as it is a safe sweet smelling modern synthetic. For this reason I rate Sound of the Brave a 7.2 out 10. It does quite a few things well but it will be in the shadow of Only the Brave and ultimately UltraMale.

This is quite nice. It's fresh and citrusy on opening and as it dries down it becomes a sweet, warm amber and vanillic scent. It was sweeter than I anticipated. Although it's masculine, it's not on the end of the spectrum. Good for warmer weather but it could go anytime of year. I think it would be a good causal night out fragrance.

Whoever think this is not long lasting must live in hot countries, easy 8-10hours on me and projects loudly. Great fragrance, pretty similar to Only The Brave with a bit more sweetness and woods. For the price you reaply cant complain.

This is a nice scent that reminds me more of the designer scents from the mid to late 2000s. It has a nostalgic vibe from that time period. I'm glad I picked up this cheapie for casual wear.

More woody, not as good as Only The Brave but and the longevity is similar. 7/10

Bought this frag due to the proposed sweet grass note, a niche smell I really enjoy. What I got was a Ultra Male 80% clone with the sweetness in the original replaced with the note of sweet grass. It's an interesting one, but the opening does still give me a headache, like the original JPG. After letting it dry down, the fragrance is a nice masculine shower gel type with that unique sweetness that I enjoy. Unfortunately, the ride there is a bit rough. This is quite strong, projects and lasts for a very long time for an EDT. Great value if that is all what you're looking for. Ignoring the garish bottle, this is a very 7/10 fragrance.

Smells like a mix between Date For Men, Ultra Male and Nuit d’Issey Parfum. Your typical sweet clubby fragrance but slightly more classy. Think Armani Code Profumo. Very sweet with leather, Amber & Tonka vibes. Powdery and balsamic, nothing new but smells very nice. There is something buried in the heart of this fragrance that's reminding me of One Million. The scent profile would suggest it has very good performance but I will have to do more testing. First impressions 6/10.

It reminds me a lot of Ultra Male in the opening - very sweet and fruity. It then turns quite powdery on my skin after about 30 mins. It's fairly bland in my opinion.

I usually stay away from fragrances with balsamic in it but this one is really nice. It smells similar to ysl Y edp.

A pleasant sweet generic scent. For younger guys on a night out.

After 30 minutes this perfume is unrecognizable, as if you had not applied perfume.

Smelled this on a guy once and hated it. On him, at least. The Amber was so overpowering it gave me a headache, and dampened any sweet or citrus notes to my nose. I personally prefer more aquatic/unisex leaning fragrances, so that probably was part of my visceral rejection of this frag. Lol. For some reason I was getting lots of iris/violet/amber Esque notes upon my smelling of this. To be fair, I smelled this fragrance on a hot day and I’m assuming all the top and middle notes wicked off and left the amber base notes, could explain why it smelled very linear and one note to me. Very masculine fragrance, but the strong amber core leaving me with a headache rather than anything to be desired. Gives off biker/leather/manly man vibes. Not for me, but I can see how this frag could work with a diff persona.

First 5 minutes you get a fresher take on Ultra Male, quite pleasant. The following 30 minutes are like a bad mix of everything citrusy, sweet, synthetic, cheapy... really bad. After that you get an amazing longevity up to 12h of a strong powdery smell, slightly sweet. At this final stage the intensity is amplified (compared with the first 30 min). Be careful with the number of sprays as it becomes cloying. Recently launched and already with heavy discounts.

I just bought a small 35ml bottle, its a nice inoffensive out of the shower dumb reach. its an Eau de Toilette, not the cheapest though especially if its at retail price, find it from a discounters though as I think its been commercially discontinued on the wider market. longevity isn't great but like I said above if you get it for a good price just overspray a bit..

Personally this isn't really my normal taste, I have a bottle but won't be replacing it anytime soon. The rest of the only the brave line is better than this, take your pick which one lol! It's reasonably priced from discounters, performance is ok, just smells like any other dumb reach scent tbh, not a bad thing, just not for me!

this fragrance is all over the place, right off the bat you get hit with a strong headache inducing woody masculine scent, then it dries down to a sweet fruity fragrance? i don’t like this cologne and ended up selling it to my friend, it projects pretty well and doesn’t smell bad on him but personally this is a no for me.

Smelled this and was like okay what is this, this smells masculine and fresh but then an hour or two later suddenly..... BOOM!!! strawberry cotton candy! The ultra male references are not wrong. However i'd say it's much closer to vintage Black XS than Ultra Male, but alas, nobody knows about Black XS.
