Wore Ambre Nuit Esprit for the first time last week after finally giving my bottle its debut, and the experience turned out to be both pleasant and instructive. While it undeniably shares the unmistakable Dior Privée DNA that familiar thread connecting Vanilla Diorama, Tobacolor, and even the Esprit line, Ambre Nuit Esprit manages to carve out its own distinct place within the family. Opening: A Resinous Ember Ignites The fragrance opens with a dense resinous blast, almost lacquered in texture, immediately announcing itself with gravitas. The cinnamon in the top notes adds heat without oversweetening, giving the opening a spiced amber glow warm, smoldering, and slightly austere. Unlike the softer, more gourmand leanings of Diorama or the radiant tobacco syrup quality of Tobacolor, the opening of Ambre Nuit Esprit feels more structured and serious, almost formal. It’s as if the fragrance is less interested in seducing you and more concerned with showcasing craftsmanship. Mid: Spices Take the Lead Within the first 20–30 minutes, the resin cinnamon accord gives way to a broader spicy profile. The scent transitions smoothly but decisively: the amber becomes drier, the spices grow more aromatic and textured, and the warmth settles into a polished but assertive presence. For the next couple of hours, Ambre Nuit Esprit projects very well bordering on imposing if oversprayed. The aura is unmistakable: elegant, potent, and unmistakably Dior, yet with an extra Esprit concentration intensity that demands restraint. A Note on Usage; overspraying this fragrance is a mistake. In a cozy or closed environment it could swiftly become overwhelming, even suffocating. Two sprays, three if outdoors in cold weather are more than enough to establish presence without entering offensive territory. Personal Comparison Within My Dior Collection: Among the Dior fragrances I actively wear, the entire Esprit line, Tobacolor, Vanilla Diorama, Gris, and the ones I’ve tested most recently such as Lucky Esprit, Ambre Nuit Esprit stands out as the most pleasant and refined of the group for me. Where Lucky Esprit veers airy and delicate, and Tobacolor indulges in syrupy tobacco warmth, Ambre Nuit Esprit strikes a sophisticated middle ground: amber, spice, depth, and excellent compositional balance. Seasonal Suitability: This is unequivocally a cold-weather fragrance. Its resin spice structure thrives in crisp air, where the warmth can unfurl slowly. Hot and humid summer days would not only clash with the profile but likely turn it into a dense and oppressive cloud. This scent wants winter coats, evening scarves, and long nights. Price & Value The Hard Truth: As much as I enjoy the scent, Ambre Nuit Esprit sits firmly on the overpriced end of the spectrum. There's no way around it. Dior’s current pricing for the Esprit line is difficult to justify, especially when other niche houses offer fragrances of comparable depth and performance at more reasonable levels. Would I purchase it again? No, probably not. While the scent is beautiful, I would look instead for something that captures this amber, spice, resin energy at a better scent to price ratio. Verdict: Ambre Nuit Esprit is a smooth, resinous, spicy amber with unmistakable Dior elegance. It performs well, projects confidently, and offers a rich sensory experience ideal for colder seasons. A blast of cinnamon ignites like fire in winter air, followed by cardamom that cuts through the blaze with cold, metallic precision. This opening does not introduce itself — it takes dominion. Ambre Nuit carries the bloodline of the 70s and 80s, that era when fragrances weren’t polite — they were powerhouses, built to conquer rooms and command attention. Spray more than twice and it may overwhelm you. This is a scent with teeth. As the chaos settles, the explosion melts into a molten, gold-tinted amber — warm, hypnotic, almost ritualistic in its depth. It wraps around you like a cloak, clinging with a relentless, simmering radiance. Hours later, it descends into a dark, sensual musk — a shadow that refuses to fade, a signature that lingers long after the wearer has gone. Reviewers call it eternal. They are right. The term “Esprit de Parfum” puzzled me at first. A new concentration? Marketing alchemy? Mystery for its own sake? Eventually the truth surfaced: Dior coined the term to elevate the aura around the fragrance. But the base of the black tube reveals what truly matters: “Extrait de Parfum / Parfum.” What you hold is a genuine high-concentration masterpiece, crafted with unapologetic intensity. And yes — the price is brutal. €435 for 80 ml is enough to make anyone hesitate. But with a concentration this commanding, this bottle will outlast many 100 ml or even 200 ml eau de parfum bottles. Every spray is a statement; you will never need more than two. If you can reach for it, Ambre Nuit will reward you with something rare — a fragrance with authority, with gravity, with a soul. It is luxury in its most uncompromising form. This is not a fragrance you wear. It is a fragrance that claims you — and refuses to let go.

My god, I thought the scent profile of the regular Ambre Nuit was addicting enough, and now there's this ☠️. Similar to the original in a way, but definitely diverges from it, it opens up with some Cardamom, some smokiness and a massive hint of cinnamon, that soon gives way to the core of the fragrance, which is a blast of spices and Amber, with the Cinnamon becoming even stronger (on my skin), it's a monstrously strong cinnamon-amber-spice fragrance for most its wearing and doesn't evolve much, but at the same time it does smell reminiscent of the OG. As for the Grand Soir Comparisons, they're entirely different scents especially on my skin, but I can sort of see a very very vague similarity, if I were to take a guess, I'd wager it's the way Francis Kurkdjian makes (or prefers) his ambers, as the Amber's in this are a little reminiscent of Grand Soir, but they're in no way the same scent or even remotely close in my opinion. I get loud-monstrous projection on my skin with around 14-15 hours longevity, this is ONLY a Winter and Autumn fragrance, please don't wear this in summer if you can help it, you might make a passer-by pass out 😭. Moving on I'd also say it's unisex but leans slightly masculine in my opinion, that being said a woman could pull it off just as easily. I've only tried this and Rouge Trafalgar from the Esprit De Parfum's so far but they're both excellent, honestly this might be my favourite cinnamon fragrance I've smelt if not in the top 3, objectively I'd give it a 9 for its scent profile, but to adress the elephant in the room; "is it worth it's price?" (Which is $800AUD for me), HELL NAH, but is it beautiful and high quality spiced take on Ambre Nuit? Yes Final Verdict is a 9 (not worth it's price, but definitely worth a try)

WOW! I cried. I literally cried. This is one of the best scent I have ever smelt in my life. I can’t wait to get my hands on a bottle. Ambre Nuit edp was already my favourite Dior fragrance, and I love the Brand, I have many. Ambre Nuit EDP is an Amber-Rose combination, with a very nice complexity and refinement. The dry-down can be woody or sweet depending on the wearer’s skin. Its warm, captivating and seductive. Super unisex. Ambre Nuit Esprit is putting the focus on the amber. The rose is just there as a sprinkle to blend the fragrance. The Amber here is strong, sweet, a tad bit animalic and musky, which is a new facet of the composition. If I had to compare it to a scent, it would be “Grand Soir” by MFK, but I prefer Ambre Nuit Esprit for some reason. I just prefer the dosage of each ingredient blended. I think it smells more sophisticated. I was lucky enough to spray this on my skin a few weeks ago while wearing a sweater. My sweater still smells like it!!! I love it so much everytime I wear it, and I washed it once already. I wore it on a Saturday morning in a sporty outfit and I felt very self-conscious about other people around me. I almost felt too “under-dressed” and loud for the situation. This is to be worn on the most luxurious day of you life, or everyday if you are a fanatic like me and doesn’t care. ♥️🔥

Only commenting because I've heard people bring up a similarity that I personally believe to be deceptive (hopefully opinions are still allowed on here!). I have an XL Mitzah with half of the 450mL remaining and I can assure you these are not similar. I'm not saying this to be a snob - I mean it. Side by side. I want buyers to be aware so they're: 1) not misinformed on how Mitzah smells (since it costs an arm and a leg to get it), or 2) tempted to buy this if they indeed have smelled mitzah before (which is likely the tiny minority here based on its general availability). Are they in a similar category? Yes. Do they smell similar? No. Think of it like this: they are both red sedans. Doesn't mean they're similar just because both rely on spice/amber at face value. Perhaps if you're not so familiar with various ambers you may not care to discern the difference. But I'm writing this for the person who would spend the type of money this fragrance demands (ie. someone who is very experienced with / loves different ambers) Anyways - I really enjoy this for what it is. Deep, dry, spicy and almost a 'toasted' amber aura. And if you have smelled Mitzah and want something similar, while this may not help with you that specific fix, I imagine you would enjoy this simply because they share a genre.

This perfume is an absolute slice of heaven, a love at first sniff. It's everything I wanted the original Ambre Nuit to be and more. It's a delicious, warm, ambery fragrance with strong projection and lasting power. It's the absolute Chupacabra of amber fragrances. I got a sample, which cost me $40 for 2ml and I wolfed it down within a day. I KNEW I had to have it ASAP. I can't praise it highly enough. Is it worth the $800 for 80ml? Probably. But luckily I snagged a bottle at a good price. It's a masterpiece, with every ingredient and every note I could wish for. So addictive and evocative. And for those who wonder, no, it doesn't smell like Grand Soir, which to my nose leans masculine in the dry down. It's a lot better than Grand Soir and I would say it's genuinely unisex. It leans more towards the artistry of the sadly discontinued Mitzah, which is a perfume I long for, the longing for which has been somewhat assuaged by this new Ambre Nuit. If I didn't have so many in my collection, I would have this as my signature scent. It's bold, mysterious and deep. It's also resinous and sweet. 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

WOW! The cardamom and cinnamon leap off the skin in the opening. The spicy notes for me come across more of deep dark balsamic/terpenic wood. The fragrances texture is thick and syrupy (almost solid) not dry or powdery. This isn’t Ambre sultan spicy - which is more savory. Ambre Nuit Esprit is more gingerbread/ Christmas spice amber- not at all too sweet and the projection is enormous!! This isn’t Grand Soir redux- one of my favorites from MFK so having both is not at all redundant. I own Cologne Pour Le Soir and Absolue pour le soir- these are totally different fragrances. Some commenters seem to be naming Kurkdjian ambers and saying it’s the same as Ambre Nuit Espeit without testing- it’s crazy As this dries down to the mids it’s reminding me a lot of the discontinued masterpiece Mitzah. The quality, performance and longevity make this worth the heavy price tag. I currently have a 7.5ml bottle and a spray sample- I’ll be upgrading to a full bottle asap I don’t think this is for most people looking for a fragrance to wear as a dumb reach- this is for Fragheads and aficionados.

Update: So I picked this up from abroad. After exchange rate and tax refund I got around a third off. That is the only reason I bought, it is way over priced at full price. People who are comparing this to grand soir either need to get their noses checked. Or they simply have not smelt that many ambers and are saying it because MFK is behind both of them. Ambre Nuit in all honestly is closer to Mitzah due to the cinnamon. It is in the same vain as Amber Absolute by Tom Ford and Amber Aurea. A strong spicy amber with very little sweetness or vanilla. It’s a shame there isn’t any rose in it. It is dark and animalic. Gone is the fleeting airyness of Ambre Nuit. This is a bold spicy beast, with incense and smoke. The cinnamon remains throughout followed by other spices. I can see myself layering this with other sweaters ambers in my collection, maybe even with grand soir to cut through the sweetness. And it’s just as good stand alone. It’s not the most original creation, there are many others in this category. But the connection to Mitzah made me want this.

Intoxicating addictive amber that almost leans gourmand. Best of all the new espirit De parfums. Significantly different smell from the edp. Love what FK has done here. The benzoin the resins its dry yet juicy. Managed to find it at a discounter for $320. Edit 22/07/25: The sillage on this is insane it’s enormous. It’s a little spicy boozy resinous amber very juicy as I said earlier. It’s pretty linear as a wear though not huge transitions. Still my favorite from the espirit line. I am not a big fan of La Collection Prive too many repeated scents with twists and mild performance I actually think Dior’s lower end designer offerings are way more appealing for men and the private line is a cash grab probably since 2012 or so. This is the only thing I would buy from the line and maybe the lucky espirit if I found that at around $200. Definitely a winter staple had sold this a while back and got a second bottle. Discounter prices at around $300.

The new Esprit de Parfum rendition of Ambre Nuit is glorious, I love it; it’s everything you’d want from a warm, cosy amber fragrance. It retains the thick, sweetly vanillic amber accord of the original, but replaces the gentle rose with a much warmer, spicier base. The smooth, buttery warmth of cardamom mingles with a sharper, dusty cinnamon which awakens a comforting festivity in the back of your mind. This addition of warm spices is similar to that of the new Oud Ispahan Esprit de Parfum. Overall, I think I love this. The original Ambre Nuit was already fantastic but if you ever wanted a thicker, darker, spicier version then this is it. I understand the disappointment regarding the loss of rose, which draws it away from its iconic scent profile, but as far as scent alone goes this is fantastic. If only it wasn’t so ridiculously expensive.

This is my first Dior fragrance. I took the advice of another review and bought a 7.5mL mini. With my size collection, I think that should do but I could totally see this being a frequent reach in a large enough collection to justify a full bottle. The retail price is rather steep. However, as nuclear as the performance is, only 1-3 sprays per wear should allow you to get by for years. It’s certainly reminiscent of Grand Soir, except upgraded in every respect in my opinion. Cold weather or heavily air conditioned environments are when this one will thrive. This feels like the ultimate Fall into Christmas fragrance to me. I will definitely be wearing the heck out of it later this year! Highly recommend and look forward to trying more from Dior’s niche lines.

The opening is just... WOW: wine-like rose drenched in spices, plummy sweetness, resins and amber materials and even some oud-like animalicness; all at once. Maybe it's even a tad too much but I'm sure this was not meant to be an everyday, casual perfume. Later in the drydown the main facets of the original Ambre Nuit reveal but in a much darker way, still you can recognize the rose, amber plus ambergris (ambroxan + ambrinol) and cinnamon elements. The base after 8+ hours later showcase a much simpler but still nice amber built around labdanum mainly. I think this release is worth having even in a mini or travel size or even sample, just for the sake of re-experiencing the opening (I'll admit though the development and overall wear is not as flashy)

They should have just done a re-release or global distribution of Mitzah, as these are peas in a pod. Gorgeous spiced, incensey amber that doesn’t veer in the super sweet and goopy variety. I hate that I’m going to have to drop an absurd amount of money on a bottle of this, but since I regrettably sold my bottle of Mitzah, this will be a worthy replacement I’m seeing lots of comparisons to amber absolute but I can’t fully agree. Sure, they’re in the same vein, but AA to me is more of a simple composition of a chewy-like amber paired with churchy, peppered incense. I think there’s a bit more going on with the Dior, and the shared ingredients/accords, such as the aforementioned amber and incense, are executed in a distinctive way

This is a fragrance that belongs solely to the night. The finest, most high-quality and most mysterious perfume in my collection according to my personal taste, only Tony Iommi comes second. It’s a scent that demands truly special moments. It opens with the warm, spicy touch of cinnamon and cardamom; then a glowing amber and soft musk take over the stage from within. Exceptional longevity, incredible transitions it slowly unfolds on the skin, leaving behind a deep aura that draws people in. I haven’t come across a single person who didn’t like it. It craves very cold weather and the night. Ambre Nuit Esprit is like a trace that shines in the dark, mysterious, warm, and impossible to forget.

Absolutely stunning. I dont usually like francis k’s work but he’s really made a banger here... I might even venture to say this is a masterpiece. The cardamom is some of the best I’ve ever smelled, buttery, warm and slightly spicy. The cinnamon is done perfectly and just adds a bit of extra warmth and depth. The amber accord smells of the highest quality. I don’t detect any cheap amberwoods in this. I, personally, like this more than the original (dont crucify me lol) Shares zero similarities to grand soir, anyone saying otherwise has a broken nose lol. This shares none of the sour, “old people” smell that grand soir has.

This fragrance is interesting. I received a mini sample from Dior and couldn’t put it down since. It makes me feel oddly nostalgic even though I’ve never met anyone who frequently wears this. It’s so comforting and beautiful. Some may say that it smells like a spice rack, but I don’t care, it’s lovely. I’m usually into more feminine scents but this one has me hooked! Unfortunately, the bottle costs $500 🤯!!! I may have to budget in order to get me a bottle of this or maybe find a dupe? Anyways, this is the first time a fragrance has spoken to me like this. It sucks that my potential signature scent is this expensive.

Beautiful autumnal/winter amber and cinnamon bomb. Bold, loud and spicy. Only very slightly reminiscent of the original edp version in that I think the same amber has been used but this esprit version is just a powerhouse of spice with no rose identifiable to my nose. This one shouts, the edp whispers. I absolutely cannot wait to wear this over the cooler months but it’ll be used sparingly due to the horrendous cost! Score 9/10, the 1 point missing for the crazy cost, can’t argue with the scent, projection or longevity at all.

Finally got my nose on this; it's deconstructed Mitzah stripped of its rose and honey with the cinnamon-forward spices amped up very, very high. If you do not like cinnamon then you best steer clear because this is absolutely not for you. Very strong, cool/cold weather only. This is nothing like Ambre Nuit, nor is it like Grand Soir. Not sure how that came about. This should have been marketed/branded as a standalone from Ambre Nuit. I'm actually considering a full bottle for this.

For those who leave reviews on the wrong "Ambre Nuit". This one is a small dark bottle of Ambre Nuit PERFUME, not the tall light colored Ambre Nuit bottle. This is by far one of the best in the line of La Collection Privee. Deep, dark, sensual, smooth like silk and soft like cashmere hugging my shoulders. I smell cardamom and a slight hint of sinnamon. Very fair. Mostly spices, amber and musk. Francis Kurkdjian once again hailed a masterpiece. -Keeper

Very dark and spicy. I'm not sure why it's called Ambre Nuit because it's far enough from it to be called something else. Very manly and potent. After 15 hours, that thing is still projecting, it's crazy. I can see the comparisons with Grand Soir, which is my 2nd favorite fragrance. But Grand Soir is way better imo. I just saw the price. WTF. 80ml is more expensive than 200ml of Grand Soir.

This is not even a Ambre Nuit flanker. It’s Mitzah minus the rose. Cinnamon overdose. I’m a sucker for spicy ambers hence I like this. But I can see why Ambre Nuit lovers are disappointed. I would have been happier if this was just a longer lasting and intense Amber Nuit. At some point my dumb ass might buy this.

Excellent ingredients, longevity, and enormous projection. Way better than Grand Soir imo. I would say it has some pretty limited uses and is strictly a date night/fall/winter scent. The price is definitely quite pricey for similar profiles out there.

I love this more than the Classic Ambre Nuit. This is similar but, it doesn’t have the powdery rose. This is deeper and lasts all day for me. I get a lot of cinnamon and spices I love both versions with the Esprit edging out the original.

I cannot gate keep this. It’s totally magic. I also have another thing I cannot get keep. This blended with Tilia is the best thing I have ever smelled. It’s got me loads of compliments. Honestly. It’s magic. You are welcome

This is stupidly, deliciously intoxicating and ridiculously good. Much better than the EDP and much better than Grand Soir This smells expensive and in fact it is expensive. Eye-wateringly so.

This is so beautiful and I love the opening!! The dry down is a nice soft amber with spice nuances. The longevity and sillage is fantastic. But unfortunately it’s 395€ for 80ml.

This is what smart and brilliant perfumery really is - the combination of the notes creates a sense of a ghost rose, like a phantom limb, and this is so unique and gorgeous.

I can't blame Dior for making this. Nearly every perfume maker, whether large and commercial or the tiniest niche house, is making some sort of ambre/amber fragrance and most of them apparently selling, so why not Dior? But at $470 for a 2.7 oz bottle retail, this amber should be a whole lot more exciting. And it's just not. Mercifully for me, some lovely online seller was offering one of those 7.5ml bottles Dior must be giving out to its high end customers (you probably have to buy an evening gown to get one free), so I got this experience for a mere $44.00 incl. tax. Like other reviewers have noticed, it's nearly a clone for Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan. Especially at the point beyond 3 hours it's nearly identical. Earlier, between maybe 90 minutes and 3 hours, it's got a dark somber edge Ambre Sultan would never have desired, but then Amber Sultan wasn't made to be competitive with literally hundreds of other worthy ambre fragrances. Ambre Sultan was made in 1993, I believe. Again, the dark somber edge apparently comes from those allegedly spicy notes, and here Dior makes a major blunder for me. Any high end perfumer should be able to define a top-of-the-line fragrance more specifically than just saying spicy notes. I suppose you can't tell the customer "chemical goo in a big brown bottle high on the shelf," but you might as well be saying that. Some other reviewer stated this Ambre Nuit Esprit was his first Dior fragrance. Oh I feel so sorry. I'm no apologist for Dior, but they've made so many better fragrances. I don't know their men's line at all though. So I'll list my favorite amber fragrances. 1. Van Cleef & Arpels Ambre Imperial. This is exquisite, and worth every penny spent, especially if you buy online. 2. DSH (Dawn Spencer Hurwitz) Tunisian Ambre. Rich, lush, and inexpensive, available in many sizes. 3. Francesca Bianche's Byzantine Amber, Almost exotic and so wearable. 4. Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan (great, and comes in a large bottle too) 5. L'Enbolaric's Ambraliquida. This is dirt cheap and wonderful stuff. And they make great soap in this scent too. 6. Tom Ford Soleila de Feu, not dirt cheap and they've probably raised their prices again, and if you've bought it as a summer fragrance it's hard to think of wearing it in the depths of winter, but it is a good ambre fragrance. So see, choices. rosequeen And the prompt retort to that is, "well, you're getting more than 3 hours out of it." And indeed, I got up close to the 6 hour mark, a real accomplishment for most fragrances made since 2010. Still, not that great a fragrance for $470,

A really nice, sweet and sultry, unisex parfum strength amber! Justifiable for the price? Not for me. The original is really more of a an animalic rose fragrance with an undercurrent of amber to my nose, and it's my favourite special occasion fragrance. In contrast, this is a really textbook amber, dark and resinous, with some added sweetness to bring some personality. Unfortunately one of those sweet notes has a coconut-y facet to it which feels a little out of place to me, sticking out while every other note blends into a cohesive whole. Without that coconut note it would be a "love" for me, but it just kept grabbing my attention during the dry down in a way that was distracting from the amber heart. Speaking of, ultimately the amber heart is quite comparable to Ambre Sultan's to my nose, at four times the price. Ambre Sultan is more masculine leaning (less sweetness and spice, more herbal), it has lower longevity and sillage, it is a less complex scent, and it doesn't have that same luxurious impression of "wow, you smell like money" that Ambre Nuit Esprit positively exudes (which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your context). But! It still completely satisfies me when I'm in the mood to smell like a nice resinous amber. And so I don't think I could justify finding the money to add this to my collection. In sum, if money is no object to you or you want an amber for uber-special occasions, then go for it! But I think there are other more reasonably-priced ambers that are more suitable matches for most contexts, at least in my life.

First of all if you are looking for Mitzah's dupe you will be highly disappointed, this "Ambre nuit" is in the same ballpark (I.e. ambery/spicy scent for winter) but not the same profile. This is a heavier and more syrupy while Mitzah is waaaaay more well rounded and classier. Compare to Ambre Nuit eau de parfum, they have almost nothing in common, to a point where this should have had a different name, you will not find the rose/citrus/light amber year round scent you are used to. I am really disappointed by these new "esprit de parfum" and do not understand Dior's policy regarding the discontinuation of classics, however in the line this one is the less disappointed as this is the only original scent.

My husband loves Amber Nuit edp, and it smells like the best expensive soap on him. The Esprit version retains some of the original DNA, but has been heavily glazed over with Christmas spices. The greenness from the cardamom is *slightly* reminiscent of the fresh rose in the edp; it doesn’t smell like rose, but it gives a soapy quality. This makes me think of smelling him while standing next to the cinnamon pine cones that are sold during the holidays. This is best for cold weather evenings or daytime outdoor activities, be careful not to overspray.

Total cinnamon bomb! It smells exactly like those IKEA Christmas candles. Honestly, it has zero to do with Grand Soir—which I can’t even stand, by the way. I've been testing my sample for a few days now and I’m obsessed, it’s definitely unisex. But even though I love it, I won't be buying a full bottle; the EDP is way better for daily wear.

well put by @Yalcin05! it is exactly that - a thicker, heavier, less sweet Grand Soir. overall a good perfume, but not at THAT price tag for 80ml. EdP of Ambre Nuit is far superior, also I feel like this perfume does not have what made the original so good - the airy, soft, radiant sweet aura of it.

Extremely long-lasting, very well done. I get loads of cinnamon, amber, and cigarette smoke. I am going to love wearing this in about 10 years from now (I'm 27). It's almost my perfect warm spicy fragrance, if it weren't so heavy. Can be overpowering at times.

Monstrous masala chai bomb 💣 but it’s a fragrance, not a drink. Not super unique, but if you enjoy chai like me, it’s pleasant for sure. Winter only imo.

Oh man this is not the original Ambre Nuit at all ... it’s much spicier with a big dose of cinnamon and just a tad too big of a perfume as well. This is even oriental territory. What made AN so beautiful is the airiness of typical french perfume with that soft rose/ambergris and citrus that is sensual, sexy and quite unique. This one you can compare it to other cinnamon perfumes , it might be good if you like that type of fragrances but in my honest opinion I don’t recognize AN enough in the composition and AN is my signature scent. It’s a pity I because I was hoping that Francis K would focus more on a deeper rose/citrus combo or just a better performing one, but that’s just me. Performance is good though, but It feels like a missed opportunity. Average/good perfume that deserves another name Edit: there is also a significant difference in the wearing experience. Whereas the original is more easy to wear / easy to like / soft and safe, the Esprit exudes a different type of aura with a commanding presence. This one gives a « I smell good i dont care what you think » type of energy with spectacular performance

Here is my honest opinion ✨️👇. - First , let's agree that this one is not to compare with the previous Ambre Nuit version , it is way far from it. - I really like the smell , and it is addictive. It is attracts your nose to come and smell it again , and you feel like your mind is reminding you of the smell always. But ✋️ , I can not imagine it as a fragrance. It gives vibes like if you dived into spic shop. I get also dark tea notes , even if it is not selected in the list. Maybe that is way it attracts my mind and my nose to smell it more and more , because it reminds you for somthat you smell it at your home or at the spic shop. In general , it smells like cup of tea with high doze of cinnamon , with some spices around , and there is slightly sweet that came from the amber. I love Dior , but let's not run behind things just because it is expensive. Let's talk the truth. Yes, I love to smell it, and it gives me warm feeling. But I can not imagine that I am wearing this and go outside to meet people. Longevity and sillage are very good.

It's not 100% Grand Soir, but it will 100% remind you of it when you first smell it. Francis Kurkdjian is the perfumer behind Grand Soir, as well as this fragrance. The original Ambre Nuit from Demachy smelled nothing like Grand Soir, but now, with Francis taking over the perfumes at Dior, this Extrait version suddenly starts to strongly resemble one of his old MFK formulas? One of the two successful perfumes in the whole MFK line? Is it just Francis being lazy? Did guys from Dior request him to do this? We can only speculate.
