Bois D'Argent

Similar to Oud Ispahan and Ambre Nuit, the new formulation of the new Bois d'Argent hit me in a different way than the original release. Fortunately, Fragrantica got the notes quite correct for this - it smells simple yet complex, smoky yet comforting, powdery yet masculine. Scent: 7/10 Very good The new release was visibly less complex than the original, but deserves its own merits nonetheless. The dry, peppery burst in the beginning can be off-putting for some (which is due to the smoky Myrrh that remains at the heart of the fragrance), but it very soon calms down into mysterious cloud of incense that is guaranteed to be inoffensive. This is, by no means, a claim that Bois d'Argent is commonplace and banal in taste. Like other Dior Privee fragrances, this fragrance shines with its myrrh and iris through its simplicity of composition and depth of its ingredients. It seems to be telling every nose explicitly of its unrivalled quality and scent profile. This fragrance is linear, but not in a bad way. In fact, this is the kind of fragrance I'd rather have it linear. Projection/Silage: 5/10 As the name of this fragrance suggests, it is supposed to invoke images of dark woods and mystery (not enigma). This is in no way meant to pack a punch. For the initial two to three hours, the fragrance projects decently at arm's length, then steadily dies down into a skin scent through the rest of its longevity. Longevity: 8/10 Excellent This is yet another example of how misleading a fragrance can last just because it's soft. I had specially asked a friend of mine eight hours after my spray routine, and he commented that he could still smell it while walking beside me. It may have seemed to have settled into a skin scent at the fifth hour onwards, but you have to keep the olfactory fatigue in mind (especially when we're looking at resinous compounds, like myrrh and oppoponax). On my skin, it lasts up to 13 hours (minimal sweating). Versatility: 8/10 Excellent As long as you are not in T shirt and shorts, this fragrance will complement the image that you're looking for without a doubt. I see this scent as reflective of an underground intellectual working against and undermining the lowly expectations of his/her contemporaries. So if you're outgoing and warm in disposition, this might not be suitable for your image since this does exude some sort of confident aloofness and morbidity. Overall: 7/10 Very Good I admit that I'm not a fan of iris-based fragrances - Dior Homme Intense never seemed live up to my olfactory expectation, and so do many iris fragrances in the market because I'm more fond of rich, oriental fragrances. But man, Bois d'Argent is probably the iris that I'd not mind in my collection. It is soon becoming my go-to daily fragrance for casual occasions as a mark of personality.

Some time ago I got a sample of Bois d'Argent from my DIOR boutique and I found the scent very intriguing so I went on to buy a 250 ml bottle. But when I started to wear it I noticed that it did not last long at all, I was crushed and disappointed to say the least. One day I was looking for something new to wear in my perfume samples collection and came across a 1 ml Orto Parisi Bergamask which smelled pleasantly citrusy and I wore it to work. I was so happy to have found a strong perfume that I could potentially buy. But boy, was I wrong... Thoughout the day Bergamask seemed to get louder and louder, to the point of being obnoxious as the scent lingered in the room even after I left. I could not wait to get home and wash it off. The next day I went back to my Bois d'Argent and this time everything fell into place, I could really appreciate the subtle elegance, the whispering whiffs, the fleeting beauty of this fragrance. Warm like a summer breeze, soft like the sunrays from behind the trees. Creamy like it naturally belongs to your skin. Maybe I've gotten lucky but I have no issues with the longevity, after 5 sprays it literally last a full work day. I do believe this scent is very ethereal as it seems hover right above the skin and never really grounds itself onto it, and therefore it can be mistaken as being weak. But it's not, at least not on me. Rediscovering Bois d'Argent has fueled my interest in DIOR and I think I'm ready for my next Privée line purchase.

Definitely need to chime in here. Such a controversial fragrance. I bought it recently and have given it 2 weeks now after constant wearing.. 250ml bottle. so, my verdict... Its complicated... and maybe thats Bois D'argents charm. Who actually knows whats going on here. Every time I wear this I'm not sure what I'm getting, how it dries down, whats happening to the sillage, what I get up top, how long it lasts. Its so complicated. I'm still not sure if I even love it. BUT, thats it, thats this fragrance and I have 250mls of it to get to know it. I get everyones argument. I feel sometimes its weak, weak in projection and performance yet sometimes I get a random waft 7 hours later out of nowhere. sometimes I feel I cant smell it on skin yet, the sillage is drifting down the street past my scent bubble as someone will make a passing comment. The smell??? well up front its complicated. All things considered, it does smell premium for sure. On my skin I get gritty Patchouli/Myrrh heavy for 1 hour with droplets of sweetness and powder but by no means an iris feel for me, then I'm not sure what happens. The smell is super complicated to describe leaning into the dry down, I still have no idea what it dries down into; as I cant get a enough projection to figure out what it is. hence the complication. Fascinating fragrance. if you got $470 AUS (250ml) to drop then by all means go for it. Its a journey. I'm still not sure where its going, but I'm excited nonetheless!!!!

I would want to smell this in heaven. Without talking notes- what this SMELLS like to me; a cloud of BARELY sweet caramel enveloping your skin. It’s just incredible. The iris and musk create the cloud or bubble around your skin with the myrrh and what can be perceived as the ‘floral notes’ listed (I actually feel it less floral notes and more Iris style notes). The myrrh is sweet but not overly so, the musk is not animalic at all, the iris is ever so slightly floral and has no lipstick vibe. Literally a delicious, subtle, yet SEDUCTIVE scent. Unisex, but I find more masculine. Scent - 9.5/10 Again, what I want to smell like in heaven. No matter what I wear for the day, I am taking a whiff of the bottle cap of this frag every single day. Longevity - 8/10 I get 7-8 hours on my skin. Sure, it is subtle, but it’s supposed to be; basically a 2nd skin that makes you ever so slightly sweeter and DRASTICALLY more alluring. My bottle is 2020, and it lasts a full work day. Sillage / Projection - 7/10 It becomes a skin scent after 2 hours with arms length projection during that time- however I get compliments on it past the 4 hour mark, on many occasions- May go blind to the smell unless I’m looking for it maybe? Overall - 9/10 It’s expensive but smells absolutely beautiful. Not exactly sure how Francis Kurkdjian will be able to do better, but I’m curious to smell!

I own this fragrance, and wear it often, yet I still find it difficult to describe. Here goes: Sophisticated, Classic, Shape-shifter, Totally unique Opening: Champagne, juniper, cypress burst fading to buttery iris and medicinal/sour elemi. Drydown: Warm and sweet (honey) -OR- Aloof and resinous (myrrh) -OR- Vanilla -OR- Patchouli -OR- Shiny leather -OR- Powdery musk -OR- ...A combination thereof Bois D’Argent is a crowd pleaser, but still manages to smell unique and new (at least in the USA, where it is relatively unknown.) I think it certainly is a *masterpiece,* but it is an incredibly nuanced and ever-changing scent. It changes based on weather, on your mood, on the humidity, on the amount of empty space in the bottle... It can be borderline gourmand, a smoky club scent, a cozy at home scent, a sexy soccer mom scent, or a super-rich rapper scent. I have tried both the 2004 original and the 2018 reformulation (of which I own the giant bottle.) They ARE different by maybe a margin of 10%. I personally think the 2004 smells better (lighter, more unusual). The 2018 is sweeter/ more ambery, but performance is 100x better than the 2004. Happy to own the 2018.

Surely those interested in bit of trivia would know that Eau Noire, Cologne Blanche and Bois D'argent were together released as a part of a collection sometime about 2004. Now looking at them I realise the concept : Dark water, White/Blonde cologne and Silver woods. Sadly I do not own or for that matter know eau noire or cologne blanche as it never was available.. however fortunately I have Bois d'argent and its sublime. It is not Annick Menardo creation but the latter. I can only imagine the earlier versions to be subliminal. So discreet yet always there. Just the perfect balance between light and dark. One seldom comes across such smooth and calming scents that lingers on for hours. I often struggle with light scents for example Chanel Allure edt and I find it irritating to keep pressing my nose against my skin to get a whiff. This does not do that. Soft and powdery with faint whisps of floral notes and a tad bit of muskiness. Very unassuming but never unimpressive. Very unisex. 10/10

I never got a chance to smell the old version, this review is based solely on Bois d'Argent from the new line. This smells like the flavoured black tea called Flânerie à Paris, by Dammann Frères. This tea is a black tea with notes of vanilla, almond, sprinkled with rose petals. In the opening, I get a smokey tanginess similar to the note of fermented black tea leaves. It has a silky smooth characteristic provided by a sweet resinous note. This tea-like aroma is blended beautifully with a subtle bed of floral notes which adds dimension without skewing it towards either gender. The dry down is ethereal, subtle and invisible yet immensely gripping. This whole aromatic experience is akin to brewing and drinking tea. The diffusion of aroma of freshly brewed tea is massive, yet when you actually bring the cup to your lips and drink the tea, the tea is almost flavourless compared to the colourful scent it gives off. I believe the subtlety of Bois d'Argent is charming and alluring.

I bought a few testers the other day, and this was for my good friend, one of the 4 fragrances I selected for him. He trusted me with my nose since I am obsessed with fragrances :) I am not sure whether I have the new version or the old one as I purchased a tester of this. Anyways, it is not that important to me. This smells incredible. Absolutely incredible. A perfect blend of all the notes that are listed. It is slightly sweet, yet woody, mysterious, and smoky. It is delicate but it lasts all day on clothes and even one spray lasts 24 hours. Sometimes projection can be soft or moderate, but longevity is still a beast. It opens up very woody, and smokey, and it dries down to a soft and pleasant vanilla base. I adore this! Definitely unisex, it worked on me and I hope he will appreciate it too. I remember one of my best friends used this for a very long time.

First Impression: an elegant and sexy concoction. Don’t try this on paper, this comes alive on skin. Light initially, but really grows on blooms. The drydown after several hours reminds me of Governors Island but better, more present, without noticeable chemical fixatives. Iris and airy vanilla vibe (not the gourmand kind) initially that ultimately converts to white woods and and impecible resin. The second time I'm wearing it, I'm noticing the clean, creamy, powdery, and steamy facets. This perfectly captures the color white for me, along with Byredo Animalique (different fragrance but same association). This might be my new favorite from the house, above Leather Oud. Incredible perfume that is kinda blowing my mind. I need to get my hands on a full bottle. -------------------‐--------------------------‐------- Scent 97/100 Performance 65/100

I suppose I have this new version, as my bottle was manufactured in October 2018. Having said that, I get more notes from the original version on Fragrantica. Now to the smell, to me is sweet myrrh with other things I can’t recognise together. Having Dior Homme as reference for Iris, I don’t smell it here. More than a smell, Bois d’Argent gives me a feeling of confidence and playful elegance when I wear it. The longevity is amazing, I feel that it more it wears, the better it smells. Towards the end of the day, the myrrh has left and I get sweet honeyed milk with some fluffiness around. My boyfriend says it smells like Kirby would smell... yes, the video-game character; he loves it. I’m a guy btw, and I think this fragrance is very unisex but perhaps, because of it’s prettiness, it can be taken as feminine leaning.

Incredible perfume, Iris balanced with resins and Musc base. Smooth, with moderate power. It can be too strong for hot days and too weak for cold nights. I don't mind because the aroma is 10/10, I use it whenever I want. If you have the chance, test it on your skin, a very different perfume despite other brands trying to reproduce the olfactory signature, such as Van Cleef and Arpels with Bois D’Iris Perfume incrível, Iris balanceada com resinas e base de Musc. Suave, com potência moderada. Pode ser muito forte para dias quentes e muito fraco para noites frias, Não me importo pois o aroma é 10/10, uso sempre que quero. Se você tiver a chance, teste em sua pele, perfume muito diferenciado apesar de outras marcas tentarem reproduzir esta assinatura olfativa, como Van Cleef and Arpels com o Bois D’Iris

Not everybody likes this perfume, but one must not judge very quickly. First of all this is a changing fragrance, which means it would change on your skin by time when you wear it. When you first wear it, some people would find the fragrance a bit too loud, but it has a great flowery opening. After some time it evolves into an almost menthol-like musky fragrance that i love sooo much on my girlfriend, i beg her to spray this on her; the fragrance itself begins to be addicting. And even after a while, I still can easily smell this on her when she enters the room, and naturally with the after-smell which is mesmerising. I recommend this perfume to everyone, if you are looking for a next perfume with a character; this is it.

This perfume has a godly scent to me, opening starts a bit strong then quickly dies down to a mix of balsamic and tea note, its soft with the iris and myrrh note visible with the musk making it tender sweet -- the perfect unisex smell. Too bad the projection is not strong, if it is I'm sure people would just gobble it up. But if anyone think the performance is underwhelming, then I think its wrong, despite the projection Bois D'Argent last 10-12 hours for me. This is my new favorite perfume where I just need to smell it close to my skin whenever I need "a hit" :( -- I get why people get a whiff of it now and then, and when it does boy does it smell divine.

Amazing scent, just amazing. Very calming and super long lasting, over 24hrs on my skin. People that say that it doesn't last are probably unable to detect macrocyclic musks, this scent contains over 60% of musks and the majority of that is macrocyclic. A lot of people don't detect these larger molecules, or get nose blind within half an hour. So they're not wrong, just unable to detect it. To my nose it projects above average for 2/3 hours (the Ambrox Super is really propelling this from my skin) and lasts well over 24hrs. After a morning shower it's still a skin scent when i applied it the day before in the morning.

Not sure why everyone says that this is weak. Do you get fakes? I got a bottle from the Paris Dior Boutique a few months ago and I sprayed it on me 3 times. An hour later I was literaly suffocated from it. I was worried that I bought a super strong perfume that I wouldn't be able to pull off. Today I only sprayed this once, made a mist, passed through it and now 2 hours later I can strongly smell this one. Hopefully it doesn't suffocate me, I get a very classy iris smell, with bits of musc and floral notes. Absolutely fantastic, special and classy.

As I wrote in my review of Ambre Nuit, this is the only other of Dior's Collection Privee that deserves investing in the 250ml. bottle. Bois D'Argent is like the most luxurious, intoxicating body cream. The blend is so good that you can barely pick out the notes. It just works. The dry-down reminds me a bit of Midnight In Paris, or at least it gives me the vibe of that discontinued legendary fragrance, but the Dior adds a creaminess to the musk. It is gentle and understated; there is nothing heavy or harsh here. Heavenly✨💖 10/10.

I adore Bois D'Argent. It is definitely a hidden gem in the Dior Privee line up. It is smooth, sweet, creamy and slightly dusty from the iris. What I love most about Bois D'Argent is that it is "vanillic" without being gourmand or spicy. I do not have any performance issues with Bois D'Argent whatsoever. In fact, more than 4 sprays and this actually can get fairly overwhelming, quickly... I believe it to be one of those perfumes that wearers go no-blind to due to the strength (Bois gets stronger as it dries down).

This is a delightful, soft, cozy, woody scent when it dries down. It reminds me of dry black tea. Very relaxing and soothing. Perfect for a cold, cloudy day in a sweater. Expertly blended and sophisticated like all fragrances from the Dior Privee/Maison line. Unisex. Among my top scents from the line. Top 3 for colder weather from the line. It's very disappointing that the 10ml bottles in the discovery set don't include atomizers. Otherwise, I would have bought the discovery set long time ago.

It smells like an incredibly woody tea with a touch of honey-like sweetness but it isn't one of those photo-realistic honey notes. It isn't super powdery like some of those powdery fragrances out there. In terms of projection, sillage or longevity I would say it more of a scent you wear for yourself rather than to announce your presence. It's suitable all year round I believe, it's just that I think it performs slightly better on sunny days. I do quite like it tho overall like a 7.5/10.

Great fragrance! Been wearing it for about a year now. Powdery and light with this incense and wood backbone. I get about 6 hours longevity on my skin, but it sits pretty close to the skin after the first hour. Classy scent, and light enough that it think you could wear it all year. A summer evening to a winter day. I like its softness given the wood and incense I get in the mid and dry down. I’ll have to try the new Espirit version one on these day.

My boyfriend wears this scent and it is absolutely one of the best scents my nose has come across. Whenever he wears it, it brightens me up and I can’t stop sniffing him lol. It’s so fresh, but warm at the same time. At least on him this will last hours...like put it on in the morning and I can still smell it at night. I almost never like scents that men choose but oh wow this one is great. Sometimes I’ll just open up the bottle to smell lol

So delightful. It's this watery, honey vibe that I'm getting from this. Once it fully dries down then the watery vibe becomes more of woods, but light. This is easily overpowered, but with a random gust or blow of wind it's so nice in the air. This also performs better than I expected. Initially I could not smells this, but after a few minutes this started to come to life and it would push for a while. This is such a lovely fragrance.

Powdery flowers with a very light honeyed amber and resins. It becomes lightly woody as it dries down, but not considerably so. Very airy and very fresh, this is would work all year round, or in cooler months if you need an olfactory break from the heavier, more balsamic/oriental fragrances in the autumn/winter. I'd consider a full bottle for this once my sample is complete.

Very simple yet elegant scent. Its nothing too ground breaking and doesn't project much, but I'd say its executed very well. Great for everyday wear since it's not too overwhelming. I love iris scents so this works for me and I consider it my fall/winter signature scent. Will this turn heads, probably not, but not every occasion requires that imo.

Gorgeous scent. Its slightly woody, with what I perceive to be a bit of cypress with that herbaceous minty aspect in the opening that settles into a lightly smoky/incense iris with a honeyed musk that feels very second skin like in nature. I find it to be extremely easy to wear and quite nice considering it has decent longevity for me.

Smooth. Classy. Calming. Gorgeous. I get a powdery iris with lightly-sweetened chamomile tea (even though tea is not a listed note) and beautifully-blended touches of myrrh and creamy woods to round it all out. I find this to be unisex and good all-year-round. Moderate projection and lasts all day on me. Just STUNNING.

Sad how weak this is, It smells really good but the performance is just terrible, Sometimes i can only smell it like 30 mins and its gone. I use it now as clothes freshner as like with every perfume it stays a lott longer on fabric. Almost every new dior release from this line feels so watered down. Such a shame

If you are looking for a daytime fragrance for colder seasons, this is a good choice. It’s easy to wear for everyone; regardless of age and gender. The powderiness of the iris note prevents it from being cloying. It lasts for more than 12 hours on clothes; it projects in a modest way.

Maybe myrrh is the balsamic note I could greatly tolerate as a person who doesn't favor balsamic scent. It blends as a total elixir of the warm spicy iris. It's calming and comforting, though appears rich in its composition. It understands the task on account of its bold bounty.

This perfume is so special, it is totally not loud but will stay for an entire day and will strangely make you feel good when smelling it while moving around,it is not a perfume that while get a lot off attention, but will certainly graps your attention the entire time.

Dior Bois D’Argent (2004) - a cool cat - #annickmenardo’s fragrance reminds me of a creative individual wearing the coolest outfit with hair untouched and swept back. A play on Iris, Wood accord, Honeyed Amber and Myrhh. The perfect name for a masterful fragrance.

This is a "real" iris fragrance. IMHO, The best one ever. Not the one Dior get hype code DHI. Iris, Myrrh, Musk, and Honey with some greenness at the opening. It feels creamy, sweet, and fluffier. Like you have a bowl of honey cereal. Gorgeous!!

This would smell absolutely amazing on a man. There is a very addictive quality to it. It is so smooth yet airy and I get a slight mushroomy smell but it all works. It creates an irresistible aura especially if played with Dior Homme Intense

The very definition of an introvert fragrance. discreet projection and sillage, longevity 12 hrs easy. Day, night, any weather, any occasion. signature worthy (of coz for an introvert person lol)

I have no idea whats happening here... this is not a smell, this is pleasure. Powdery touch, sensual sweet, intimate flirt in a white bed full of pillows. Heaven.

The question is: If I buy this fragrance today from Dior, will I get a BdA signed by Francois Demachy, Annick Menardo or Francis Kurkdjian?

Indeed very similar to VC&A Bois d'Iris, that I tend to prefer over Dior's.

9/10, just wish it lasted longer and had a better sillage.

I haven't smelled the original Bois d'Argent, but apparently it is lighter and less synthetic than this iteration. I've read rave reviews for both versions, and was excited to try this, given the iris-led, creamy, honeyed woodiness and myrrh-led amber drydown mentioned by many. As it turns out, I'm surprised but underwhelmed. There is a strange, raw mushroom-like quality to the opening, and a synthetic cloud of some amber-mimicking molecule that lingers close to the skin for hours. Although it is soft and cosy, I find it quite unpleasant. It improves as the other notes emerge. I get some powdery iris after a little while, reminiscent of Prada Infusion d'Iris, a soft, subtle baby powder-like iris scent, but the mushroom-ambrox accord prevails. There is a soft sweetness to BA, almost reminiscent of almonds, but not quite. This is the only similarity I get to Hypnotic Poison here. BA becomes more balsamic in its later stages thanks to the myrrh note, bolstered by softly aromatic pine-like woody notes. The myrrh is more restrained than I would like - the amber accord is mostly provided by the aforementioned synthetic molecule that persists to the bitter end, outlasting the other notes. Sillage is intimate and longevity is long-lasting. Feminine-leaning in my opinion due to the soft sweetness, BA is a transeasonal day scent, subtle enough for everyday use (price tag aside!) that I've read about raised my expectations, but that is nowhere to be found. BA doesn't fully work for me (I can only speak for the reformulation - I would love to compare it to Annick Ménardo's original). It is a linear, intimate, lingering scent that reminds me of modern synthetic compositions like Mathilde Laurent's masterpiece, Cartier XI L'Heure Perdue or scents like Escentric Molecules/JHAG etc. Still, it's an interesting, creative scent and I understand how it works well for others. 3/5.

In summary, smells like Bois d'Iris by Van Cleef et Arpels, with a similar sweet and softly powdered wood, and lasts approximately a similar amount (i.e.: abysmal...). It's very pretty and elegant, I get slightly more iris in this than I do in Bois d'Iris. Its warm, cozy, blanketing and verrrrry luxurious. Unfortunately, while I do wear perfumes not so much to be smelled by others, I do still hope for my perfumes (especially at Dior Privee prices) to last and be detectable to myself. Maybe it lasts better on clothes, I'll have to give it a shot, but it's unfortunate on my skin. Scent: Comforting and delicious, 8/10 Longevity: Disappointing Sillage: Skin scent Polarity: Perfectly unisex, but if I squint, I think it leans feminine

C'mon, Dior. When you manage to insult even those people who seek out quiet and not long lasting scents on purpose, you are truly doing something wrong. I like close-to-the-skin, intimate fragrances. I don't mind reapplying throughout the day. But this one is simply insulting. I have just used half of a sample vial (1 ml if not more, like 10 sprays) on my forearm 30 minutes ago. I can not smell it at all, unless my nose is touching my skin where I applied it. I smell a lovely, although a tad bit simple iris with a hint of amber and somewhat sour patchouli. It's pretty. But the strength is absolutely despicable even by my low, low standards.

I very much enjoy the scent, and while it lasts a long time, it is not a strong projector. I had to know if it was due to reformulation so I purchased a 5 mL mini-bottle made in 2015. Compared to my 2018 bottle, I find no difference, neither in scent or performance. No comment on the 2004 original as I have never smelled it. I also purchased a decant of Bois d’Iris and it is indeed very similar, but I think clearly thinner, and contrary to what some have said I found Bois d’Argent to perform at least as well if not better. This is a lovely fragrance if you accept that it is more subtle, and there is no need to hunt down the 2015 version.

This may be one of my all-time favorites and became so after 1 wearing of a sample.... now I have a bottle on the way! Warm, soft, creamy, sweet, smokey, powdery, and just delicious. It is soft, subtle, and truly sexy while being entirely unisex. Versatile, but unique, I just love this stuff and so happy to add it to my collection! The longevity is insane, like 24 hours after a shower long. It stays close to the skin, but that's what you want this to be. It is alluring and mysterious, but also familiar. Get your nose on this! EDIT: Love my 40ml bottle of this, I reach for this one nearly every day, it's just so simple and refined!

This refers to what is available in 2020, so it might have very little or nothing at all to do with a previous edition. My nose detects a woody, slightly spicy scent, very mild and therefore easy to wear anytime. There is a slight powdery aftertaste, so to speak. Iris? Perhaps. Incense? Perhaps. Would I invest in it at current prices? Probably not. (It reminds me of Bvlgari Man Black Orient and Memo Shams Oud.)

reminds me of glossier you doux, which i recently blind bought, if anyone is after a dupe. gorgeous scent, very november to me. it's comforting and creamy and i think it suits everyone. i think it has slightly better projection and longevity but it's also 2.5x more expensive so would love to find an old bottle and see what's changed in reformulation

Opens with a non-lipsticky hit of iris, airy cedar/cypress and very fragrant myrrh. The mid brings a luxurious floral accord and the fragrance feels mystical and opulent. Like Whispers in the Library with added myrrh and magic. The dry down is iris, myrrh and smooth musk. A real success, but potentially hard to find the right occasion to fit.

Light, powdery resins. Soft and sweet, smells kind of almondy but I suppose it's the myrrh and frankincense underpinned by a baby powderish iris giving off the impression. Add in honey, green patchouli, and the woody amber base. The sweetness could be overwhelming if it wasn't so muted. Moderately soft projection for 2-3hr, longevity 10-12hr.

This one smells clean, soapy, and a bit sharp to the nose. I'm just surprised that no one else has mentioned how similar this smells to Juliette Has A Gun-Not A Perfume! Not sure if I'm willing to buy a full bottle because I already love JHAG and to me, it just smells creamier and smoother compared to Bois D'Argent.
