Cruise Collection Escale a Parati

This radiant cologne is a high quality unisex scent, modern yet classic, subtle and versatile yet distinctive. The green citrus opening is delicious, the best fragrance opening I have experienced in a while. It is bright and lush, mostly zesty grapefruit with beautiful, crisp petitgrain providing the green notes. Some mint is in there too, adding clean herbal freshness to this crisp cologne. A piquant orange note adds a slightly bitter edge that gives a lovely tartness to the opening. The ingredients are realistic, almost tangible, and are of a very high quality. The citrusy freshness of the opening lingers, and is joined by soft spicy accords. I don't get any red berries or cinnamon, which possibly saves it from veering into potpourri territory. It becomes softly woody with a smooth sweetness thanks to the tonka bean base notes. It becomes a soapy skin scent after 2-3 hours. Sillage is moderate too. Interesting and sophisticated, this scent manages to have depth and complexity despite being a bright, fresh cologne. I agree with GRAF below that this scent takes inspiration from old-fashioned, classic masculine EDC, being fresh and softly spicy. It is like a classic cologne reimagined for a modern audience, this time including women. Elegant and sophisticated, this one smells high-end. Excellent daytime unisex cologne. Highly recommended, but unfortunately seems to be discontinued. 4.5/5.

It's funny that most people say it opens with citrus, well not for me. When I first spray Parati I get a masculine cologne smell; it smells like something my dad wears which knowing him is probably classic edc. It opens up into a sparkling aromatic citrus that I find quite addicting. Oddly, even though it's a citrus I think I like it better in the winter, but maybe I'm just weird that way. In the winter the classic cologne scent lingers for quite a while, but in warmer weather I'm finding the citrus comes out quite quickly and the Parati is over too soon ;p Forgot to add that I chose this over Portofino. To me, Portofino is kind of safe with it's (strong) citrus almond while Parati more unique IMO. I do think you could get a classic edc that smells similar to Parati, but the way the citrus opens up is where the magic is.

Escale a Parati is inspired by Brasil, and I can see why, coz it reminds me of a pina colada in the opening notes. I should say there is coconut and pineapple in its notes, but it isnt. The opening is very fresh and citrusy, like a good cologne would smell like, but when it dries down, it gets a minty note in it almost like a mojito. The scent stays fresh, but there is the redberrie and cinnamon that makes the scent slightly warmer, but still so suitable for warm weather. This is my favorite of the Escales, and I think I will wear it a lot in hot summer days.

This REALLY does smell like a classical eau de Cologne, with a little extra "je-ne-sais-quoi" , don't know, maybe this is just in my head, because it is Dior that i find a classy touch in that . Definitely a unisex . I think it might please the older audience , because old persons usually love eau de Cologne ( well in my country they do , all old people have eau de cologne in their bathroom closet) BUT you don't need to be old to enjoy it ! I'm (not that :-P) old and i love love it ! It's a green , fresh , sharp classical beauty.

I love this perfume. My signature for summer, perfect for anytime, anywhere. The chemistry works perfectly with my skin and I go from subtle citrusy fresh and invigorating to a comforting powdery base note that lasts hours. I have no idea whether this smells of Brazil or not, and to be honest I do not care. I bought it after spraying my hand with the sample each time I visited John Lewis in London, and each time i ended up with this feel good factor I have rarely felt with a perfume.

This is one of my favorites and I find that it lasts all day in a soft way - my kind of perfume. It's very woodsy on me, which I love, and I think that makes it great for casual wear but gives it enough sophistication for more dressed up moods. I think this is definitely more feminine than masculine, but a man could certainly rock it too. Love!

Lemon with paper accord; maybe because of rosewood. This is unique, can't be find everywhere. I love the scent so much. A nice summer one.

This is one of the 3 Dior scents good for powerful women, high career women...Green and elegancy with a little soft note.

OMG! A Dior fragrance inspired in Brazil, my beautiful country!!LOVE IT!

First of all I'd like to say that Dior has this fragrance to their feminine collection. Big mistake, bravo Fragrantica for the right judgment. To my nose, it's very unisex, slightly leaning towards classic masculine scents, to be more specific, old classic masculine EDC. It's a mild spicy and mild powdery green/bitter/orangy scent with a velvety and super smooth semi-sweet base of tonka beans all these on a woody backgound that keeps them all together. I get similar vibe from Troynoy edc by Novaya Zarya minus the tonka beans and the orangy feeling. It's suitable for summer and spring day time use imo. The opening is similar (not the same) to Hermes Concentre d`Orange Verte but the dry down is completely different. Both are classics to my nose. I'd say, the Hermes is more casual than this Dior which I think is the luxurious version of this Hermes with more depth, more complexity which it changes completely during the dry down. It opens like a blast on your face of green bitter orange and some lemon but quickly it settles down to a smooth classic fragrance with a powdery tonka bean dominant note to a woody base of rosewood. Stunning. There is also a very faint soapy essence, barely detectable to my nose. I also get tiny traces of mint. I must concentrate really hard to smell it. I do not get any cinnamon or red berries. It has two stages. The first stage has petitgrain/bitter orange dominant note. The second has tonka beans till the end. Performance. I tested it with mild warm weather, about 28 degrees celsius/ 84.2 fahrenheit. I'll re-test it in lower temperature to judge again its longevity. The sillage is good moderate and also the projection. It's not strong but anyone who passes 70-80 cm from you (27.50-31.50 inches), will smell it. The longevity is above the average. It stays hours and hours as a soft but detectable scent. I get about 6-6.5 hours. Until the 5th hour mark, it can be detected easily. After that stays very very close to the skin. I tested it with 5 full sprays. For me, it's an absolute love as it literally has bottled some memories from my childhood. I remember as a small child when I was going with my grandpa to my uncle's barber shop. It was a prestige shop with his own EDC (he was making his own fragrances but never sold them commercially) among with other typical EDCs. In the men's section there was always this smell. I remember vividly this bitterish-green orange-mild powdery and semi-sweet smell in the air. This fragrance is exactly what I was sniffing back then. Unbelievable. This scent will always be to my collection. EDIT : On the box there's a little description which summarize it up. " A combination that unveils the aromatic tonality of Amazonian Rosewood, combined with the freshness of Paraguayan Petitgrain and Argentine Lemon, against a backdrop of Venezuelan Tonka Bean".

After escale aux Marquises this is the one I like best of the cruise collection. This one is different from the others in that the cinnamon, which I love, gives it a depth the other ones, overly citric, do not have. After the first five minutes, though, pertit grain takes center stage and I do not like it nearly as much as in the opening. Staying power is very poor. I find the idea of a cruise and escale at beautiful places extremely appealing. Really a nice idea for a perfume.

Crushed petitgrain with fresh lemon and orange rinds tapers off into spicy yet soft woods, still keeps green. Very invigorating and comforting, perfect for hot summer days. Definitely needs to be reapplied if plan to be worn all day.

Very elegant and strict lemony cologne. It would suit perfectly for a businesswoman. It's gorgeously cold and fresh! I love it!!! It's the best of Cruise Collection for sure.

I was waiting and waiting for it to get better, but it didn't. It's just too "dark" smelling for me. Now I see it's unisex and just like most unisex fragrances, it's too masculine for me. Very woody and spicy, no freshness. It's not a light fragrance. Simply not for me.

I can just feel the Petit Grain. It's overwhelming and weird. I can't see me using this.

Escale a Parati is a dry green scent with woody undertones. It starts out as a zesty citrus (lime more than lemon) and it’s just a little sugary, maybe because of the berries. Like a glass of fresh cold lemonade on a hot summer day. The petit grain smells like freshly cut grass. In fact this fragrance screams summer. The woody notes are almost earthy and somehow dry, IMO they make this cologne different from the usual citrus scents. This green scent becomes a bit soapy in the dry down so like the other fragrances in Dior’s cruise collection it will make you feel clean and refreshed when the weather is hot. Escale a Parati is described as a unisex scent and it is the most masculine perfume from this range but it’s absolutely for women too. I don’t find Parati as long lasting as f.ex. Portofino or Pondichery. It’s more like a cologne than an eau de toilette but personally I enjoy refreshing during the day. Escale a Parati is good news for those looking for an elegant, classic, cologne-like scent with a twist. In 3 words: GREEN – DRY - FRESH

I got it as a blind buy since yesterday. It has this edgy freshness of a traditional woodsy-citrus eau de cologne at first spray. The thing that incommodates me is that I got a smell of a wet clout in the lower layer of the fragrance and so I don't like it that much for the time being. Along with that unpleasant smell a soft detergent cleanness reaveales together. Such a strange combination. Well, on second thoughts it shouldn't be that strange: a dish sponge also contains these ingredients: grime and detergent. :-) Some comments say it is an unisex fragrance. I tried with my BF who totally rejected it and said it is absolutely feminine. So don't rely on your significant others to share it at all events. Anyways, I'll give it a try in hot summer days imagining I'm at the Brazilian seaside and thus justify the odd notes. I hope it would feel better in higher temperatures. Wish me luck!

Clean! Fresh! I don't know why but I smell a very light sea breeze. It is the perfect scent I was looking for, just because emotionally nowadays I need something light, uplifting, positive, clean and sunny, very far from darkness and sadness. I tried light and fruity fragrances but this is the one for me now. It's very far from feminine, sensual, warm fragrances but if you want something easy to wear, perfect for daily use and elegant.. well try Escale a Parati. Maybe it is not a masterpiece but this fragrance is very well done IMHO.

-----> Blind Buy. (I was nervous because it was a 50 something dollar blind buy and not a 22.99 one! LOL) Bright, Green, Citrus. Uplifting. Happy. Unisex but leaning towards the "man" side curiously. To dumb this down; almost smells like a high-end , elegant version of...... BRUT cologne ! And in a GOOD way. Would I buy it again ? Probably not. Like it but don't LOVE it. Lasts longer on CLOTHING than skin. Low projection / longevity. Happy to have this in my collection and not sorry for my blind buy.

Hmm... This is the most 'cologney' scent from this line. Less original,it reminds me of good classic colognes. It is a true unisex and I would rather give it to my bf, so he smells yummy. I bet this should smell better on him than me. It's great, but there are cheaper alternatives. It doesn't have much lasting power either. Top, heart are citrusy and I didn't feel anything else much just lemons and oranges, it's moderately bitter and has a base of woody bergamot.
