Dior Homme Intense 2025

I finally got my nose on the 2025 version. First things first, it HAS been reformulated. It appears that Francis Kurkdjian is trying to put his stamp on all Dior lines. Francois Demachy is one of my favourite perfumers of all time but so is Francis Kurkdjian so I'm confident that he will live up to his predecessor's legacy at Dior. That said I am not one to poo poo a reformulation right off the bat because contrary to most people I find that reformulations tend to improve fragrances over time, think of it as bringing out a newer better model of the Mercedes S class or whatnot. Sometimes they ruin things but in my experience they mostly improve them especially with the major designer brands like Chanel and Dior with in house perfumers who take the time to do it right. I also have to preface my review by admitting that I was never a fan of the original Dior Homme line, definitely not enought to purchase any of them except for the Cologne(which I find to be one of the best modern take on a the classic eau de cologne in the market right now second perhaps only to Chanel's Allure Homme Sport colonge but only by a hair's breadth) and Eau for men which is sadly discontinued. Dior Homme, Intense and Parfum I have never been a fan of, I found them too resinous, medicinal and harsh and just not my cup of tea. So what do I think of the new one? I like it, I think it is a vast improvement on the original 2011 or 2020 versions. In fact I like it so much that I now think it is very much collection worthy. I knew things were moving in the right direction when the Parfum that came out last year was also a dramatic improvement on the previous version but sadly not quite enough for me to buy it(it still retained some of that resinous lightly harsh qualities though it was sweeter and less medicinal). Francis Kurkdjian has finally cracked the code as far as I am concerned with the 2025 DHI. Of course he did not kick off on the best footing because Sauvage Eau Forte was terrible, but so what, he is a master perfumer possibly even better than Demachy, he is allowed a dud every now and then while he quickly redeemed himself with DHP 2025 and now DHI 2025 even more so. So why do I think this one is better, well as mentioned, the original I found to be too resinous and medicinal and the 2025 version significantly tones down those qualities while at the same time counterbalancing them with a touch more sweetness and smoothness. It's crazy that with as little as a 1 - 2% tweaking of a fragrance can result in dramatic improvements. It's overwhelmingly the same fragrance but at the same time not, if you know what I mean. Those tiny changes resulted in a change of what I would charitably rate a 7.5 out of 10 to at least a 9 out of 10(time will tell, I can see it getting up to a 9.5+ over time as I get to know it more). Moral of the story, don't pay any attention to die hard fan boys, they are the fragrance community equivalent to football hooligans. They are so fanatical and tribal that it gets in the way of their ability to honestly and with a clear mind evaluate a fragrance for what it is. They are not open minded enough to reliably appreciate good perfumery without letting tribal tropes get in the way and you will find that a sure fire way to tell them apart is that they have the same set number of cliche talking points which they all repeat ad nauseam like mindless drones. PS: Francois Demachy is as mentioned one of my favourites of all time, so it may seem hash that Kurkdjian is messing with his creations. However it is after all his job to curate and reformulate the Dior lines from time to time as this is common practice in the industry but more importantly, at least by my sensibilities he hasn't messed with the fragrances which I think are Demachy's best. Perhaps DHI and DHP sales haven't been that great lately while DHC has remained solid and the Sauvage line is obviously doing gangbusters...? Now if the only thing FK does moving forward is revive the discontinued Fahrenheit 32(Demachy's greatest creation IMHO) he will have solidified his legacy at Dior in my eyes and go down as one of the top 5 greatest perfumers of all time.

I accidentally posted this review under the 2011 Dior Homme Intense, but I have the 2024 version. I deleted the other review. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Dior Homme Intense was unexpected for me. My first encounter—on paper, with the parfum—was nearly a rejection. The opening felt harsh, challenging, even off-putting. (My wife hates it outright.) And yet, despite that initial resistance, I couldn’t let it go. I have an unexplainable attraction to iris, and curiosity eventually won. I made the blind buy, knowing full well this could go either way. On skin, with time, everything changed. The opening was still severe, but this time I understood it. Instead of recoiling, I stayed. What followed was an hour-long meditation on powder, restraint, and curiosity. Dior Homme Intense doesn’t try to seduce—it observes. The iris here feels cosmetic, theatrical, and intellectual rather than floral. It smells artistic. It smells like a poet. As I returned to it again, the fragrance revealed its emotional core. Indigo. Violet. Jazz. Introspection. It feels like a work of art more than a scent—something lived with rather than worn. There’s a solitary intimacy to it that makes it perfect for writing, making music, or quiet self-communion. Wearing it feels like receiving a love letter written specifically to me. What I admire most is how unlike anything else it is. This is not a people-pleaser, and it doesn’t seek approval. It’s aloof, emotional, and deeply personal. I see undeniable signature potential here, even if I’m not ready to call it a favorite just yet. If there’s a fault, it may be performance—but even that feels intentional. Dior Homme Intense doesn’t project authority; it murmurs emotion. If Bleu de Chanel L’Exclusif is distinguished, refined command, then Dior Homme Intense is a troubadour—sweating passionately in a smoky Paris nightclub, playing because not playing would hurt too much. This one has earned its place in my rotation. Not loudly. Not dramatically. Quietly—and for the long term.

The “new” DHI 2025, quite frankly, is an excellent outcome for most of us. We are lucky we didn’t get some gutted imitation of DHI, but rather, we were given a slightly different presentation of something many of us already love. Which actually, to be honest, gives the newer bottle a reason to exist alongside the older ones rather than just duplicating them. So, the impudent bashing of the different DHI formulas and batches, and yeah, they do vary. For some are denser, waxier and more powdery while others (like this newest one which is No.21961) are a little more aromatic, transparent or airy. But I really don’t think the differences are anywhere nearly as catastrophic as some make them sound. A lot of that comes from nostalgia and the way someone may attach a particular smell to a particular period in their lives. Whatever version you first fell in love with, or wore during some memorable time becomes the version in your head, and everything afterward gets judged against that memory. It’s basically the fragrance equivalent of everyone thinking the best era of SNL was the one they grew up watching. That doesn’t mean the differences aren’t real but “different from the version I’m emotionally tied to” and “Dior ruined it” are two very different things. This newer DHI still smells absolutely and unmistakably like DHI to me. It’s just presenting that DNA from a slightly different angle, and so far, I think it smells fucking fantastic.

This was my first fragrance purchase in over a year, after going on a spending freeze. For a while, no new releases really appealed to me, however to see the beloved Dior Homme Intense get a rerelease and maintain that iris note? I just had to try it. First off, I’m happy to see it retain the same vibe as the previous release. This is Iris-forward with that cedar on the dry down to give a creamy lipstick woods feeling, borderline-buttery like DHP but not as strong. When I compare this side by side with DHP (2014), the iris is much lighter but still projects fantastically on this! Next, a 50ml retails for 137CAD which for retail IMO is a good price considering the quality scent profile. However this is steadily available on discounters, finding 100ml’s for $155CAD, so I’m happy to see this is an easy find. Also, only 3 notes listed? Is this really the case? I won’t pretend to have the nose of a dog and suggest “there’s ambergris in here too” or something lol, but regardless I consider the ingredients here to be quality. Finally, I’m beyond pleased to see they maintained the DHI DNA, sure it’s not exactly the same, with older reviews suggesting a bolder opening, but this is what I expected DHI to be. I cannot get enough of this scent and I’m so happy to have this be my first fragrance purchase in 2 years. For me, I see myself going through a whole bottle this year. I give it a 9/10

The launch of Dior Homme Intense 2025 marks an important moment for perfumery enthusiasts. Although the declared olfactory pyramid seems like a return to the essential, this new version seeks to balance the historical legacy of the line with a cleaner and more vibrant modernity. Despite being classified as Woody Oriental, the DNA remains inextricably linked to the "Dior Homme" signature: sophisticated and almost dusty elegance. The Opening (Tuscan Iris): It is the absolute protagonist. Compared to previous editions, the 2025 Iris appears extremely pure and less "buttery/gastronomic". It maintains that distinctive "luxury lipstick" feel but with a more silvery and fresh facet. L'Evoluzione (Ambrette Seeds): The heart note acts as a musky bridge. Ambrette gives a silky texture and a natural, slightly fruity sweetness, which prevents the fragrance from becoming too dry. The Bottom (Virginia Cedar): The finish is masculine, architectural and dry. Cedar cleans the composition, leaving an unforgettable trail on the skin. The 2025 version seems to want to dry out the structure of the perfume. If the 2011 edition was famous for its almost gourmand sweetness (given by vanilla and cocoa), this new interpretation is more minimalist and woody. It is a fragrance for the man who seeks timeless refinement, less opulent than the past. It is the scent of "quiet luxury".

This is amazing, I steered clear of it for years due to the reviews saying it smells like “a makeup bag” or “lipstick”, it does not, please don’t make the mistake I did and get this in your collection asap. Rather than makeup this has a very unique “cologney” smell of deep floral iris, it’s hard to explain and throughout my life I have smelled this DNA in public before. It’s so smooth, waxy, and incredibly rich, a totally unique smell that not many men are wearing. As it dries down it becomes muskier and woodier, very creamy throughout and has many complex facets and characteristics despite having a very simple note breakdown. I can see why this is the fragrance community darling, I hope Dior never discontinues this it is a masterpiece. Preformance is great, it lasts 8-10 hours and projects very well for the first 4. It is satisfactory and matches the quality of the scent. In conclusion, this is a 10/10 it fills a major spot in my collection and I don’t have anything like it. Smelling it puts a smile on my face, super comforting. It’s spring but I’m still gonna try to wear this a bit.

This is indeed different from the last iteration of DHI. This is starting to work its way back to what DHI used to be when it first launched. I personally love this new 2025 formulation. Clean and simple. Buttery smooth iris giving that wonderful lipstick clean vibe dusted with a sweet vanillic cocoa powdery essence. I am completely ok with the removal of lavender, it gave it this unnecessary clean vibe that the iris was already providing. This is Pure perfection in men’s perfumery. I’ve purchased several bottles and have had them all engraved free of charge (a new service Dior is offering with a purchase of their fragrances), I never want this one to run out. Only downside is there is no 5oz of this so you need to get multiple 3.4’s........ To everyone who has this is their rotation, I hope you all enjoy this as much as I do and have over the many many years I’ve owned these, and for those thinking about it, please stop and go get one. You won’t be disappointed

Well to begin this is DEFINITELY a reformulation compared to what they've been selling as DHI the past few years as I tried both on today with one on each wrist and both start, evolve and end as very different scents. After the experience of the Dior reformulations and flankers in the last year or so I was completely ready to see this as yet another failure, but was really happy with what this turned out to be. For me this is WAY closer to the much missed Dior Homme Parfum of recent years, minus the leather in the base, than the 2025 version, and way off what recent DHIs have been. I don't see this as a replacement for DHI if you love it, but my plan is to stock up on pre-2025 DHI, and the have this 2025 version to sit between old DHI and old DHP for when I want something inbetween that's heftier and less powdery but lighter and less dark than old DHP. Very happy with this addition to the lineup indeed.

I have this 2025 version and tbh never smelt the previous version, so I can't compare. But I can say I love the scent of this DHI! It smells so classy that the aura is for a man who dress neatly and ready for a special occasion. It is lipsticky like a lot of people said but doesn't feel feminine. The iris is warmer than such in Prada L'Homme. Performance is top notch on me. But as it is so special, that's the problem for me. Although I wear it occasionally to office, but I feel it doesn't 100% suit my work dress as I work at a company with really casual and relax dress code. I rarely wear button down shirt to office. Most of the time just T Shirt or Poloshirt with blue denim and sneaker. I feel like I am "overfragranced" for the dress (or "underdressed" for the fragrance?) lol. So end up I only wear this fragrance for special occasions, for now. But maybe it will change, maybe...

If you love iris in male fragrances, Dior Homme Intense, Dior Homme Original, and Prada L'Homme Intense and Prada L'Homme EDT are fantastic. Of everything I tested, Dior Homme Intense rose to the pinnacle of my scent preferences. I now consider it my signature scent, and I'm not a finance bro who works on Wall Street. This is an elegant scent, very elegant, but it can play in more casual settings, too. You can be a great smelling cowboy with Dior Homme Intense just as easily as when wearing a tailored suit. My wife loves this on me during all four seasons and even in summer heat. Usually in summer, I switch to Dior Homme Original EDT and go light. The dry down is where it's at its finest and where it can function over a greater range of temperatures and occasions. A masterpiece. 10/10

For those who complain about the smell and longevity of this new batch (I assume it’s just a new batch, not a reformulated/new line): I’ve been using this fragrance since 2016, and despite many so-called “trash reformulations,” I’m still in love with it. It’s still that iris-powdery scent with a musky dry-down (just with less of the woody vibe over time, which I honestly don’t mind). The good longevity and sillage are still there. I’ve noticed that once you open the box and let it sit for 1–2 months, the performance improves with every bottle I’ve owned. As a big fan of DHI, I’d say the scent has never been less attractive to me, and I still receive plenty of compliments from people around me whenever I wear it.

Just bought this to replace my current finishing bottle which is 2011/2020 version packaging. Been wearing this for about 3/4 years... It's exactly the same Dior Homme Intense of 2011/2020 version, just a new packaging bottle only. Can confirm 100% same scent, longevity and projection of the prior packaging. Still the same formula code "18048" can check below the box (dont mistaken with batch code). And my batch code is 5F01 which is June 2025 manufacture date. Ignore all the comment which says this different that different bla bla bla yada. Seriously tho its the same trust me. Dont get mistaken with Dior Homme Parfum 2014 vs 2025 line. That is total change to a new different scent. Bummer.

I've no clue how the 2011 version smelled, but this one is pretty good. It's simple, just iris and wood, but very well-balanced and sophisticated. The iris does remind me of a beauty salon, though. Not quite masculine, but unisex, IMO. Warm, cozy, even relaxing smell. Blind bought it as it is considered one of the best designer fragances of all time--I didn't quite liked it at first, but it quickly grew on me. Now I really enjoy it every time I put it on. It doesn't last as long as I'd like, though--I have to spray it 8-10 times for it to last 6-7 hours. But that's about its only downside. I'm thinking this will become a permanent part of my collection.

Easily an elegant, sexy, and gentlemanly scent that's floral and powdery enough to be a unisex fragrance that women can pull off too! First tested this fragrance at my local Shopper's and applied about four sprays on each wrist and I LOVED this stuff! It's got decent longevity (probably about seven to eight hours on my wrists when I first tested it, especially good considering I had washed my hands several times throughout its life), and it's super versatile for date nights, formal events, dine-in's and easy to pair with neutral colors and/or cool colors. I gotta give this a 10/10, maybe get myself the 2011 formulation when I can and give that a try!

Super iris dominant for sure I haven’t gotten a chance to smell the previous formulations but honestly I don’t care because this is a really good one. It has a very strong powdery feel with a bit of soft sweetness. However, it still feels elegant and very clean. I think the woodiness in the dry down heavily compliments the iris note. In the end it becomes this rich, sweet, woodsy, almost milky iris scent. I get solid projection for the first 2-3 hours and it lasts at least 10 hours on skin. I think it can be a 24/7/365 any occasion type of fragrance but for sure leans more towards colder, night, professional/date night vibes

I've gone through a quarter of my bottle in 2 months and must say that while I enjoy this scent profile, I find it just does not project well on me. However on clothing it does last many days and I love picking up that iris note when I put on my coat from the night before. That being said, I still find the value for money here. $137CAD retail for a 50ml bottle is a solid price. The iris is much lighter in here than DHP 2014. And the dry down continues with the iris, but just enough cedar for me to make this a beautiful and versatile fragrance. This continues being an 8.5/10 for me.

I absolutely love this fragrance. The opening is definitely not my favorite it’s very very irisy but the dry down is magnificent. Beautiful winter and fall scent. A bit overpriced but I still plan on buying it if I have the chance. I tested it at Macys when I was at the mall and every 2 hours I went back there to spray more of it on. Not because it has bad performance even though I haven’t technically tested it yet but because I just wanted to smell more of it’s definitely one of my top ten fragrances right now. 9.475/10

I tested the 2025 version of this beauty yesterday. If you are someone like me who wonder about the comparison to old formulation, this one has less sweetness. They made this fragrance simple and beautiful. I always like the opening of DHI, premium leather like iris notes always amaze me. The new formulation continued this opening to the drydown. In the end there is a woody note that came from cedar. But you can still feel the iris. That is what i love about this. I think this is the best DHI formulation ever.

I don't care about last forumlations since I can't compare, but this is Mastery French High Class Designer fragrance to the Niche level. It just smells Divine especially the drydown. This is how a high class cafe bar would smell like because in Paris. Very creamy, rouge like vibe with shy woody nouances, and the drydown light vanilic powdery rouge. The projection and longetivity isn't the greatest but the fragrances should be discovered especially ones like this. Very professional but also very sensual.

Dior Homme Intense – Worn by a Woman I smelled this on a male colleague and instantly became obsessed. It was elegant, warm, and addictive—and sniffed my colleague every chance I got (yes, it got awkward). To save us both, I bought my own bottle—and damn, it’s even better on me. Smooth iris, cozy amber, and just enough wood to feel grounded. It makes women and men go quiet, lean in, and ask what I’m wearing. It’s powerful, sensual, and completely irresistible. Gender? Irrelevant. This is pure magic.

What a beautiful warm, woody and smooth iris, i would go as far as to say this would be my perfect date night scents, i get about less than 5 hours of performance however after which i'm not sure if i'm noseblind to it or it really has withered away. On clothes it's a bit more .. perfumes are no longer performing unfortunately but it does well for what the markets offering lately .. it's also less ambery and minty than the parfum version .. which makes it a lot better in my eyes.

honest to god one of the best fragrance ive tried. i didnt get it because im not really looking for a masculine leaning scent for now. it starts really strong, with iris and cocoa, but once it dries it reveals a softer vanilla and powder scent that feels almost unisex that i just love. i cant spend more than 10 minutes without reaching to my wrists. but i didnt try the earlier versions soooo yeahh, this one could be a bit different and it last FOREVERRR, i got so many compliments

Great fragrance for the cold winter months. Its powdery, musky iris and its blended very well. Like a very old-school make up powder puff. The old formula had hints of lavender in it that i wisn they would have kept in the new formula but it doesn't take that much away from it. It last a fair amount of time on skin and certainly on clothes. Price wise you can pick up 100ml for under the £100 mark which is good value. Definitely a decent designer to add into anyone's collection

As many other reviews have already mentioned, the 2025 version IS THE SAME as the 2011, same DNA, just a different package... The review bombing of this release was way too unnecessary, I could imagine they went immediately to review bomb it before actually taking the time to smell and compare the two versions... That said, all I noticed, but that might be due to my skin, is that it projects a bit less than expected, besides that I have no complaints at all.

As in life the exception confirms the rule, after I hated Kurky, now I raise him to glory. Why? Because he managed to revive the dead and buried Dior Homme Intense version 2007!!! With the same waxy iris, perfectly unisex and without the splash of lavender that distinguished it from the version from 2011. And what's more, it lasts even after the shower! With this job, he also washed away the new sins 😍

In one word- Posh!! In short- Buttery smooth Iris cacao face cream!! It’s gorgeous, it has the elite, high society, royalty type spirit. Generally I’ve never believed in matching attires for fragrances, but this one’s an exception, you definitely need to be dressed up to pull this one. Projection and longevity are great. Opening: liquorice+iris Mid (longest): iris+butter+cacao Dry down: buttery musk

Dior might be the most important house in the perfume world and this fragrance proves it. On the first spray it captivated me. The Irıs note almost pierces your skin and stays there leaving a powdery clean undertone behind. Reminds me doing a walk on a cold winter night. Bought immediately after I tried it. If you want a dark/mysterious fragrance thats it (I bought the 8/25 batch) 9/10

This is such a good dna that it had to instantly go in my top 5, its very intoxicating and expensive smelling. I would describe it as a woody creamy lipstick smell that is both unisex and sexy. I have one problem with it and that would be the drydown, to me after 2 hours it loses its magic snd the iris punch is gone and im just left with a woody and creamy dry down.

Ayoo bunch of kids here...it LITERALLY says RIGHT BELOW the ratings and the description that the 2025 version is just a repackaging, maintaining the original formula!! So it’s LITERALLY the same exact awesome perfect 4.50/5 out of 22’066 Votes from the 2011 version’s page....c’mon go change your childish, emotional (non rational), immature bad review here...

When I first smelled this, I instantly thought " If I went and grabbed my girls red lipstick that is what it smells like". Honestly though I do like the smell a lot. My girl and mom said it does have a lipstick/powdery smell to it as well and said they would even wear it. Only ever smelled the 2025 version so I can't compare the older profiles.

This could be an anytime wear, but I wouldn't recommend high heat. I'd say this would be a great 4 seasons evening wear in particular. To me, it smells VERY similar to Le Lion de Chanel, and that's not a bad thing because it's one of my favorites. Leans feminine but in a classy way. Love it! This line in its entirety is wicked awesome.

Smells pretty much the same to the previous formulation I owned (2021). Only thing that I noticed is that the performance is a bit weaker other than that still an amazing fragrance worth picking up Also please ignore the snobs saying its completely different because they iris is 0.759% less detectable....fuckin ridiculous

I have to say this fragrance for sure is the real life version of the Axe Body Spray effect, as I like to call it this i used to a dance and a girl smelled it and was all over me and later on that night she told me she can still smell it. Dior Homme Intense is a very memorable, mesmerizing scent highly recommend it

It smells great. Period. Just like all the prior versions of it. It is not a room filler. It is french perfumery after all. It perfoms just fine. Clothes smell for days. The "it smells nothing like the original" and the "it's gone in 30 min" crowds must refrain from reviewing any fragrance ever again.

My nearest department store here in Finland had both the older and the 2025 version ("intense" written on the bottom for the bottle) on display. I sprayed both, one on each hand and there was no difference at all. I heard that Dior said they have not changed the formula and i believe that to be true.

It's powdery, lipsticky, formal scent that is absolutely beautiful! I got this masterpiece for christmas and this wil definitely be in my collection forever! Even though it has been reformulated it still lasts around 6-7 hours and the sillage radiates within an arm length. 9/10

Dior Homme Intense, A legendary fragrance has remained unchanged. Dior has officially confirmed this to me. No changes have been made, The same notes and accords are present. The fragrance was repackaged in 2025, The perfumer behind DHI 2025 is Francois Demachy.

Yes, this one is diferent from the last version. Now it's a little bit darker and less sweet. It's elegant, polite, floral but in a masculine mood. Don't hesitate because of the elder reviewing melancholic gibberish. This is quite a gem in any collection

Nice. I definitely get the lipstick comparison. Either way, this is good. Identical to the 2011 version imo. Is this or the 2011 the best men's fragrance ever, as reviews would suggest? No. But it's nice for a well taken care of man.

The hate for this is so unnecessary. This is beautiful. The performances are almost the same as the old batches but they had to reformulate because of new regulations. Still one of the if not THE BEST designer fragrance out there.

After smelling about 200 fragrances i can confidently say this is the best i have ever tried. Classy, rich, incredibly unique, and a perfect confidence boost. That woody warm seductive iris DNA is elite. Absolutely perfect.

This quickly became my favorite iris scent. Its blended to perfection... a masterpiece. I havent had the chance to test its performance yet, but out of the gate, its getting an 8.5. If I get 8 hours at work it will be a 9.

Rich creamy fluffy oris cacao cloud!! Unisex vibe. 4hrs medium projection Long lasting skin scent for 11hrs 9/10. Unnecessary hate. They should try this before rating. Drydown is super musky and sweet.

I don't get the hate? This is pure iris elegance in a bottle! Great longevity I can still smell it 8 hours after applying with a pretty decent projection, definitely my favorite iris fragrance for men

A powdery vanilla scent. A scent of orris butter. It lasts a long time and has great sillage. It’s almost identical to previous versions. I love the bottle design. 10/10

Powdery emotion. Iris wrapped in cocoa and warm woods, smooth and warm like red lips. Refined but intimate, confident without force. The artist. The quiet seducer.
