Dior Homme Parfum

_ Oh, here it is! The long-awaited Parfum derivative of Dior Homme is finally in the database! And I have to say 'wow'. This is certainly a stunning release from the Maison of Christian Dior. I discovered the Parfum a week ago while wandering around in Boulevard Haussman's Lafayette, looking for l'Orpheline by Serge Lutens (check it out, it's great), when something on the Dior shelf caught my eye.. I was like: a new flanker? Nah, it can't be. I asked for further information and the saleswoman confirmed it to me: it was indeed an avant-première of the latest Dior Homme release. Such a great surprise... I looked up on Fragrantica: no trace of it. So I'll try to give you a quick recap of my first impressions after 2 days of wearing and testing: DHP gives us a magistral opening with the famous signature tuscan iris. The DH identity is still very strong during the first minutes, with a gourmandish feel similar to DHI, but with more woods. That opus doesn't last long though: the Parfum rapidly morphs into a dark and opulent woody scent, with a heavy and rich sandalwood - oudwood(?) accord, sitting on a dry, smoky, upper class/niche style leather. I can also detect a lot of incense, that, along with the smoky/powdery leather and the oudwood/sandalwood accord, gives the Parfum an oriental and a lightly medicinal vibe, which is very pleasant: noble without being too 'dirty'. Furthermore, the Dior saleswoman talked about a rose note in the parfum. I tried to make it out, with little success. Compared to DHI (which is the first fragrance somebody is naturally going to compare the parfum with), the Parfum is dryer, with almost no vanilla, a toned down iris/makeup-ish note and an accentuated woody-leathery side. It also smells more oriental than gourmand, if it makes any sense. In any way, this is *not* a more potent version of DHI. This could almost be a whole new fragrance, or actually be part of the Collection Privée, really. DHP has its own character and really makes a statement: ☞ woody (prominent sweet sandalwood - oudwood accord) ☞ leathery (dry, sour and smoky) ☞ oriental (incense, more incense, and medicinal oudwood) ☞ slightly animalic (musk, DH style ambrette) ☞ powdery (DH DNA with the tuscan iris) Longevity is truly amazing: 20 hours on my skin with three sprays (two in the neck, one on the wrist), shower included. When it comes to sillage, it is surprisingly not that heavy, although it can easily fill a room during the first hour. I found the Parfum to be easier to wear and versatile than the EdP (DHI), and just like DH and DHI, DHP could without a doubt be a unisex scent. I also got complimented a couple of times (yes, already). The bottle design is similar to DHI's bottle. It feels very heavy, with a darker design, and a huge black collar at the top of the glass part. The juice has an intensely ambery color: it leaves a very clear light brown stain on white clothes. To conclude, it seems that Dior is striking again, with superior quality blending and ingredients, pushing the Dior Homme line to a whole new level. This parfum screams pure luxury and is absolutely worth all the hype. Even the niche competition will have a hard time beating such a high quality composition... Could this be a sort of new, Dior-style M7 with iris?... I'm wondering. The star of my next winter! ✓ Ps. with all due respect to Dior's ambassador, I don't think Robert Pattison advertises the Parfum very well... it is definitely not a "young and casual" scent. I rather see a gentleman in his 40s-50s in a tuxedo, enjoying a good whiskey and a cigar in a hotel jazz club at night wearing this (Bill Murray in Lost in Translation maybe?). _

For me, though of course “for me” is always a kind of rhetorical throat clearing that belies how absolute the claim actually feels, this is it. The apex fragrance. The olfactory GOAT. The rare thing that, when you smell it, seems to reach inward and press some archaic little emotional button you didn’t know you had. I’ve got a 2019 bottle of the Dior Homme Parfum 2014 formula and a 2024 bottle of the 2020 formula, and what’s wild (though not in the “fragrance-bro superlative” way but in the genuine, phenomenological-how-is-this-possible way) is how close they are while still being unmistakably different. The 2014 reads richer and denser, in the way a perfectly reduced sauce is denser, not heavier or more syrupy but more concentrated, like someone took the idea of iris and leather and rose and just kept whispering “more” until it thickened into something like 20% additional gravity. On skin, the 2014 version’s iris feels less like a note and more like a texture. Creamy, cosmetic, that famous Dior lipstick DNA that behaves like a memory you didn’t consciously store. The leather is plush and matte, not biker-jacket aggressive but the interior of a very expensive bag you’d never admit to coveting. And the rose, God, the rose, it flares up in little periodic pulses deep in the dry-down, like a heartbeat you only notice when a physician asks you to pay attention to it. The 2020 has the same notes arranged roughly in the same architectural layout, but the rooms feel taller, airier, with more light coming in through metaphorical windows. It’s still Dior Homme Parfum, still that unmistakable richness that almost makes the top of your mouth tingle (which I realize is synesthetic nonsense until you actually smell it), but the density is dialed back enough that you can see why the younger crowd gravitates toward it, because it breathes. And yet both versions share this peculiar, decadent integrity. This “1 of 1” quality, that makes you stop mid-task, mid-thought, mid-day and go....How did a conglomerate as large as Dior allow something this indulgent, this baroquely self-confident, to exist? They smell like the sort of thing a perfumer makes not for market tests or brand pillars but for themselves, a private thesis on richness and restraint that accidentally escaped into the world. Which is why, now that the 2025 direction seems to be drifting off into another aesthetic galaxy entirely, I’m clinging to hope, maybe naive hope, but still hope, that Dior will eventually do the sensible nostalgic capitalism thing and release an “Original” version the way they did with the EDT. Some sanctioned resurrection that lets us keep buying something new that still carries the DNA, the iris-leather-amber-rose gestalt, the dense-yet-breathing paradox, the intoxicating singularity of these two miraculous formulas. Because fragrances like this don’t just smell good. They make the world feel a little more precise, a little more detailed, a little more alive.

It's the kind of fragrance that isn't just perfume, but makes a statement, telling a rich, captivating, and sophisticated story. Here, perfumery reaches an artistic level that few can touch, and that's why this is, truly, my number one perfume. The iris is comfortable, powdery, and enveloping; it's the soul of the fragrance, but unlike Dior Homme Intense, here it becomes even denser and more resinous, embraced by rich, full-bodied, and extremely elegant leather. The rose brings a refined and slightly floral touch that softens the robustness of the leather, while the base of oud, sandalwood, and ambrette delivers a depth and sensuality rare for a designer. Longevity is excellent, easily exceeding 9 hours on the skin. Significant sillage is strong in the first few hours, becoming more intimate, yet ever-present. It's as if the Intense were a modern tuxedo and the Parfum a tailored suit, with leather details and a mysterious touch of oud. Both are magnificent, but the Parfum has a deeper, richer soul. A brief comparison with Dior Homme Parfum 2025 The new Dior Homme Parfum 2025, while elegant, offers a softer, more contemporary take on the 2014 formula. The iris remains present but loses some of its powdery density, while the oud and leather have been replaced by amber, favoring a more versatile and wearable profile. While a beautiful reformulation, it loses some of the boldness, presence, and artistic character that made Parfum 2014 an absolute classic. It's more adapted to modern times, but less satisfying. Final Score: 10/10 Dior Homme Parfum 2014 is, for me, the pinnacle of men's designer perfumery. Elegant, sophisticated, artistic, and unforgettable. A true icon.

A real review from a Gen Z who actually appreciates iris. I got this today, (75ml 2018 bottle) and oh boy was I blown away. It definitely wasn’t what I was expecting, but I’m kind of okay with that. Off of first snug from the atomizer, I got a very rosy leather with the smallest pinch of smoky oud. Okay. I already loved it. I decided to build up the courage and spray it on. Off the top I was getting mainly a candy sweet mandarin orange backed by some sort of animalic (leather/civet?) and a very powdery iris. After like 5 minutes though, it’s completely gone and it brings the animalics going strong and brings in the dry, handbaggy leather. It’s now been about 5 1/2 hours and holy crap is it still strong. It’s definitely getting sweeter again, most likely the ambrette. The rose and oud have appeared from seemingly nowhere, which I’m not going to complain about. Now on to performance. Holy crap this is nuclear. Maybe it’s because it’s a 2018 formulation, but I’ll figure that out tomorrow when my 2024 bottle comes in. But it has not gone down in the slightest from when I sprayed it on at around 4 ish. It very well could be a room filler, but should NOT be used like that. This should be appreciated with the small amount of sprays you should put on. I recommend like 3-4 sprays for winter, and for fall and formal occasions, 2/3. This CAN be used year round, trust me I live in a hot ass country. I’m actually planning on using it for a formal dinner tomorrow. I’ll most likely use 2 sprays of it. Just know your setting and temperature, and you’ll be fine. Now on to the numbers Bottle - 11/10 the best DH bottle by far Smell - 9.5/10 the animalics are a little too crazy for me at points but overall it’s gorgeous. Longevity - 10/10 so far this is looking like the strongest one in my whole collection, right next to Fahrenheit parfum. Might be even stronger than that. Projection - 8/10 I actually like that it is an 8 out of 10. It’s not too much, but you will get noticed. If it was a 10/10, it would be too much. Overall 10/10. Easily top 3 in my collection, and I have some good stuff.

I blind bought this a little over a year ago just a month after the 2025 release and what can I say. On first few tests and when I first wore out, I only got iris and powder. I thought it smelled nice, the quailty was there but it lacked dimension. I got none of the others facets I heard described about it and I was pretty disappointed. Exactly 8 days later surveying the wardrobe as I do, seeing what stays and what goes, I tested it again. This fragrance had opened up like a dark beautiful flower. This time, along with the iris, I was met with the orange, then the rose, leather and smoky, slight hints of chocolate, creamy yet dry woods all enveloped and woven through with that powdery Iris. I've been in the scent game a relatively short time and I've already witnessed many bottles unfold over time after the first few sprays. This was one that did exactly that. And when it did...mm mm mm..wow! On par with any niche fragrance they said etc etc. They didnt lie. Its amazing! It's strong too and last forever.....and ever. More than one spray is way too much for me. I apply one spray (half on each shoulder or near the collar). It projects well and leaves a most intoxicating scent trail. As a lover of definitively and even traditionally masculine scents, DHP (DHI too) is kind of an enigma and anomaly for me. I see it as adding an element of suprise to my scent-drobe. "Homme" in the name puts it in the men's fragrance category but imho it's a proper unisex that leans feminine with it's powdery, makeup smells. Yet has a contrasting darker, leathery, woodier character evoking it's discernably masculine traits as well. It's very unique and creative. No doubt a leader in it's genre. And now, immortalized by its sad discontinuation. Fortunately I dont wear it often and don't spray much at all when I do. So its not likely I'll finish this bottle. Love it!

Please don’t hate me 😀. I love Dior Homme Parfum 2014/2020. I use it since it came out. It’s such a santimental scent to me. I have two half full bottles which I just go to smell when I need it. What they did to this one is more than sad for some of us. I hate the new one, as a new version, as a stand alone version it’s just trash (my own preference). So what I did is like any crazy person tried to experiment lol. Yes DHI scratches the itch but not really. It lacks this velvet soft melancholic darkness old DHP has. So a few days I received my TF Oud Wood and it lacked something. Today I tried mixing them. Not layering and stuff.. I directly mixed them on my skin wet on wet lol. And it kinda worked really well. At least to my nose. What they do is Dior homme intense gives that make up iris and ambrette while oud wood gives the roseyness from the rosewood, the oud woody darkness (yes I know it’s not real oud but it’s the only thing with oud that I have). The first 3-5 minutes it’s a mess but then when they both settle it gives me the same feel old DHP gave me. Dark woody iris. The only thing missing is the leather.... I guess I have to find some scent that’s like oud wood but with leather. I can’t stop sniffing my hand!! P.S. if you have both DHI and TF Oud Wood please thy it. Equal sprays directly one after the other wet on wet. Also if you don’t have them both or only just have one please try this combo in a department store first. Since it’s not 100% same as DHP and you might be disappointed (every nose is different). And yes the iris in DHI is somewhat fresher than the iris in DHP. So it’s not the same bit it’s close really close. P.p.s. I think I’m going to experiment and mix small amounts of them in a 2-3ml decanter and see what happens lol. If it actually also works for you don’t thank me. Just enjoy it. 🖤🫶🏻

This is a very special fragrance to me. I bought it in Barcelona in the the summer of 2024 during a study abroad program. I didn't like most of the people in my group, and I ended up nomadically joining traveling groups or locals every weekend to socialize. I was out at night a lot and often alone, and this fragrance was always on me. I often wore black jeans and a black tee, and DHP fit perfectly with the dark colors. I was constantly introducing myself and meeting and leaving people. It was all so transitory, blur-like, but this fragrance was the common denominator in all these vignette interactions and my love for it and constant application felt like a grounding ritual. It's so smooth and thick on the nose, it feels like the concept of cloying without actually being so. The mandarin in the opening gives it a full-spectrum profile that's almost overwhelming but when replaced by the rose becomes perfectly intense. The iris/oud/leather combination is where this really shines though. In the middle, the leather comes in and gives a dryness that isn't sharp at all as some leather accords can be. I think the slight ranknes/moistness of the oud helps wetten up the leather accord a bit, but beyond that its all iris. The Iris is so purple here to me. Its earthy and buttery and its floral qualities are so rich in a way that prevents it from going into any kind of cheap cosmetic or soap territory, although I can certainly understand the lipstick comparison. I spent much time with, and learned a lot about myself during that summer and I'm forever grateful that many of those memories can be accessed from this bottle. I've never sampled/tried older formulation of DHP, so this was a complete blind buy for me. I'd heard of all the commotion behind the reformulation, and while initially i didn't really care, curiosity got the best of me. So, I searched around. Normal pricing of old formulation DHP sat at around the $300usd mark. Not really going to spend that much on a designer unless it's private line. But then I finally found it-- full bottle (test sprays missing), no box, and in excellent condition. Price was well below that $300usd mark, so i said fck it, we roll. Man oh man was that a great decision. I just got my bottle in earlier this week, and immediately had to try it on skin. Intoxicating. That's what DHP is-- intoxicating. I get it now. I get why this was SO loved by y'all. You're immediately met with this lipstick-y iris, rounded off with rose. The leather starts to come in strong in the heart with iris and rose still permeating. Then, to wrap it all up, you have mass appealing oud and amber to join the fray. It's all just so intoxicating. The leather and rose really rounds this off in such a beautiful way. They're not fighting for a spot to get noticed. Rather, they support the star of the show; iris. DHP is also monstrous. It performs the way i wished my gris charnel extrait (another LOVE of mine) did. If i must put a number to it, I get 12+ hours easily on my skin, and projection for an easy 5hrs with a large enough scent bubble that if you overspray, you WILL make people around you gag. Even after a shower DHP is still radiating off of my skin. So i get it y'all. I get it now. I get why this was so loved. I cannot for the life of me imagine WHY this needed to be changed. I don't. You don't mess with perfection.

As I sit under a nearly full moon during a September night, I am indulging in the warm Iris/Ambrette/Oud composition of Dior’s Homme Parfum. This is a beautiful fragrance for those like myself who like a spicy woody mix with Iris showcased throughout. It has a slight sweetness, owing to the Ambrette Seeds, and the drydown is warm, leathery, and slightly powdery on my skin, with that delicious Iris note blending with the Oud Wood. This in my mind is a great fragrance to wear if I’m going to be snuggling with my girlfriend with some candles and jazz vinyl on a cool fall night. It’s mysterious, sensual, and has that unusual Dior flare that I just adore that makes their mens line stand out so poignantly. I don’t feel this fragrance is for everyone, especially if one is after a more ‘mainstream’ type scent. This juice has a dry, woody essence similar to expensive paper used for writing letters. I love that, and I cherish the more traditional chic that this fragrance proffers. It is much more similar to what the EDT version used to smell like, before it was reformulated; in my opinion, the EDT now has much less depth and presence to it, and is altogether a different beast - it is neither here nor there, but simply notes that I prefer the Parfum version. The Parfum is a bit expensive for the fact that it performs more like an EDP, but it smells expensive, and as stated, it’s elegant and different enough to make a unique statement. This would be an excellent choice in my opinion for a night in with some Chinese takeout and foreign films. The Moon continues to inhabit the space of my mind, and I will continue at leisure in my leather chair enjoying this.

I only got into fragrance in January of 2025. I'm 56 years old now and at that time I had 4 after shaves as I called them. Initio Oud for Greatness, Guerlain Les Exclusive's Oud Essential, Prada Luna Rossa EDT and Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb. That was my total at the time and they were all well used. I then realised a liking for fragrance and I now own 850-900 of them due to my obsessive tendencies. Although I didn't dislike iris, it was never my go-to favourite by any means as it just didn't do it for me but I understood the impression it may project if I was wearing a suit in a meeting and never needing to be bold in a professional environment. I tried and tried to get used to it and eventually to like it as I know that can happen through repeated wearing and give all notes a chance, and it worked. So I do now own many iris fragrances including the complete line up of CD Homme Intense, Givenchy EDP Reserve Privee, Valentino Uomo Intense, Extradose, Prada L'Homme Intense, RaIph's Club Elixir, a whole heap of others that smell similar but I just can't remember and now I do tend to like the 2025 version of DHP, which probably doesn't say too much for me and it's too much like DHI but just different enough to distinguish. Last week, I found a sealed bottle of the 2014 version of this fragrance, this one, Dior Homme Parfum, online from a source that I trust. This is the stuff that I realise it is supposed to be. The differences are staggering. I will be forever in search of another bottle.

There's nothing I could add to the reviews which hasn't been said already other than this is more wearable than some of the reviews would have you believe - but I want to share a recent experience. Given the discontinuation (a crime against humanity), as one reviewer has mentioned there are a series of fake products making their way into circulation. I own a number of bottles of this and in my attempt to obtain more, found a fake bottle (represented to be real) on Depop which was cosmetically an almost identical match to the real deal - the top notes from the atomizer were very close as well. Utilize extreme caution when purchasing online and familiarise yourself with 'real vs fake' comparison videos on Youtube etc - only pay with buyer protection platforms with a dispute capability such as Paypal to protect yourself - anyone who doesn't have a Paypal or similar payment processor in 2026 should be automatically discredited. You should also video record yourself opening the product and fully video the bottle and under the atomiser cap after you open it - you may be able to use the video footage in the dispute as I was able to. Also note that a lot of these platforms obviously don't allow the selling of counterfeits (obviously) - so you don't need to return a fake product to the seller (not legal advice but read the t&cs). This stuff is incredible but it is not worth getting scammed out of desperation for. Happy hunting.

This fragrance is like a beautiful hologram. My nose can't quite decide what it's smelling. In some moments, I could swear that I'm smelling a mouth-watering glass of fresh Coca Cola. Dark, sweet, fizzy, sparkly, satisfying... In other moments, I smell decadently pungent leather covered in deliciously caramelized flower petals. Deep, smooth, rich, animalic, powdery... It has aspects of beautiful femininity, as well as aspects of rugged masculinity, melded together in perfect, sophisticated, mature balance. As if it was the concentrated essence of the love and love-making of an extremely attractive, middle-aged, wealthy power couple. It's not mass-appealing. It's not office safe or blind buy safe. It's challenging, polarizing... But god damn is it unique and amazing. I don't think I've ever smelled another fragrance that is as intense and complex, while still being so beautifully smooth and enjoyable. This fragrance makes me love the note of leather, but I haven't found any other fragrance that uses a leather note as well as DHP does. Shame on you, Dior, for discontinuing this absolute legend of a fragrance, and replacing it with such generic slop.

Dior Homme Parfum in 2026. You see high praise in many reviews on this scent and can’t help but agree. This is simply in its own category when it comes to the best Designer releases of all-time. It’s captivating, sexy, smooth, silky, incredibly well-blended. DHP is one of those unique scents that hasn’t matched the experience in any other scent for me. It seems like Iris is getting a bit more popular in releases but they’re just not done the same way as this. The opening is an Iris blast without being cloying, with the leather complimenting it all through the dry down. If anything else lingers here it’s the sandalwood, but for me the selling point here is that iris note, simply marvellous, I can’t give this scent enough good words. DHP is just a reminder of how poor the newest release of this scent is. I don’t expect the new release to be exactly the same as this one, but the quality is clearly much better here. Where the newest release feels like an Iris bomb, this release felt like an Iris experience into what perfumery should be like. Still one of the few fragrances I consider a 10/10 in scent, projection, and longevity.

Rose to me usually smells pissy. I also never really liked iris all that much and always thought it smelt like an old lady’s makeup bag. But I was stubborn and kẹpt on trying a few more iris type scents like Valentino Uomo intense, a givenchy gentlemen reserve privee, and DHI. Eventually something took a turn and Iris became enjoyable. I did like all the other aforementioned fragrances but imo DHP is on another level. The quality, the darkness, the smoothness of it all is just out of this world. Unfortunately I don’t get to wear this much in Oz as it’s more suited to cooler weather, fancy nights, and events such as weddings, as it is very classy. However, I’m in my pyjamas watching tv while wearing this.

Sumptuousness in a bottle. Beautiful Tuscan iris floats on a lake of Ecuadorian ambrette with Virgina cedar wafting from the shore. I wear this in the evening and (perhaps unsurprisingly) find it works beautifully with Dior Homme Original that still lingers from the day. I bought the parfum in 2021 directly from Dior via their website. On reviewing the purchase confirmation email I clicked the link and landed on an error page stating ‘Requested page is not available’. On closer examination it appears that this parfum formulation has been re-classified as an eau de parfum under the title Dior Homme Intense. The new parfum formulation apparently has ‘Ambery, Woody and Floral’ notes, with emphasis on ‘a dual iris note’. Why Dior chose to do this is beyond my ken. The phrase ‘you can’t improve on perfection’ does spring to mind and however cliched that may seem it does nonetheless seem apt. I still have plenty left in my parfum bottle so it will be a while before I consider purchasing its reincarnation as an eau de parfum.

I bought this after owning Dior Homme intense, the 2023 batch and honestly, the opening smells very similar, but and I mean, but the dry down is very leathery very much a darker send, and after about an hour, you can really tell the difference between them and although I have a good longevity and experience with the intense, the parfum is a much deeper darker scent, which named properly in conclusion. I understand the hype and I understand why people are sought after this flanker of the Dior Homme line. Now that I own 100 mil bottle of this and 150 mil bottle of intense I kinda am at a loss for words on how and when to use both because my intense was my night out but now my Parfum is my night out owning both may be redundant if you’re not a collector I personally love François Demacy work, and therefore I own a bunch of Dior from his time there so I may not get rid of it. Overall, definitely the best iris fragrance Dior 2011 is very good, but this just adds a layer of complexity and beauty, although less versatile.

Francois Demachy hit it out of the park with this one. This is definitely a loud fragrance that is absurdly strong if you go over 4 or more sprays. The opening is a heavy blast of Iris mixed with Leather and Rose notes. Once it drys down the oud and woody notes become noticeable but the iris and rose are always at the fore to my nose. It is wonderful and you will smell like absolutely no one within a 50 mile radius. Dior Homme Parfum projects heavily for the first 3 to 4 hours. After that you will have noticeable scent trail/bubble for 7 to 8 hours. This one lasts an easy 12+ hours for me. This is better reserved for a colder fall/winter night. Be warned it may get you attention from the opposite sex in a pleasing way Glad I was able to acquire a 2023 vintage when I did and another 2024 vintage backup bottle. This one became my favorite cold weather/winter fragrance. Easy 10/10 Not for everyone and sample before you decide to spend your money on this one.

This was the most classy leather fragrance of all time! It's class in a bottle! 👑 ✨ The ultra-smooth Russian leather accord with the powdery Tuscan Iris and creamy Sri Lankan Sandalwood were blended so smoothly together to give such classy rich elegant vibes! 💜 James Bond vibes! 🤵 François Demachy will be remembered forever for this masterpiece 🥇and Francis Kurkdjian will be remembered for butchering it! Why would you remove a leather accord from a leather fragrance? And then you double the iris but it already had iris 😂 maybe it's jealousy? Because it's definitely not creativity! Also most people never mention how amazing the performance is! It's the definition of beast mode 🦁💪🏻 it even outperforms my Memo Paris leathers and my Amouage Interlude 53! Dior Homme Parfum is not a fragrance for everyone, and honestly, it does not even try to be. This is iris, leather, rose and woods blended into something dark, elegant and almost arrogant. The iris is smooth and powdery, but not soft in a harmless way. The leather gives it power, the rose adds a rich seductive touch and the oud, sandalwood and cedar make the whole scent feel deep, expensive and serious. This is the kind of fragrance that does not ask for attention; it assumes it already has it. Sexy, confident, dressed up and slightly untouchable. It smells like a man who knows exactly what he is doing and does not need to explain much. But please, do not even think about wearing this in warm weather. This is not made for summer, beach days or casual heat. It needs cold air, night, good clothes and the right attitude. In the wrong setting, it can easily become too heavy. In the right setting, it is absolutely phenomenal.
