Dolce Vita Parfum

Dolce Vita Parfum is for me personally a travel back in time. Upon smelling it I was transported to 1995, being a teen with a love of perfumes, I just happened to smell this divine perfume in my best friend's home, her mum was wearing it. I loved everything about it, scent, bottle and name. It was the first release of Dolce Vita, the EDT. The Parfum version is exactly that smell, a bit more potent and long lasting (mind you the early edts were very strong). It saddens me to see that today's edt is a ghost, a cheap replica of its former glorious self. The Parfum is so expensive to source and I will treasure my 7.5 ml bottle for as long as I can. Love it is an understatement.

I started wearing Dolce Vita when it was was first released in the 90's. I used the body products also. After a multi-year hiatus, I found the vintage Parfum online for a song, so I picked it up. It was delivered today! This is the best version of Dolce Vita I have every tried (I have never tried the reformulation, and don't really plan to.) It is very potent, so just a touch or two is needed - no more. I've read reviews that describe the scent as "sunshine in a bottle". I live in San Diego and will definitely be wearing Dolce Vita Parfum often this summer!

Oh my gosh, this has the Lutens DNA running through its veins! I could have wished Dior took Feminite as well! It’s fruitier, muskier, woodier and more powdery. Even the citruses when pumped up don’t bother the composition. Everything lends a fermented and wine-like quality. Impeccably done. Plus, there’s quite a cosmetic feel at the end of each whiff, perhaps the heliotrope. It feels more compact and I can feel the rose here with that jammy quality. Perfection.

Dior Dolce Vita parfum extrait smells quite similar to the original EDT. It feels like a 15-25% more concentrated version of the EDT - brighter, sweeter, happier and sunnier. -Dolce Vita fan-

More sensual, luxury and richer than original.

I think the visual presentation of this fragrance conflicts with the scent. I expected the DV to be like an expensive Brute Champagne (why, you ask ?). The bottle is bubbly and light in colour. It should be summery, freezing with white musk, iris and citrusy-flowery spark. Instead of it, the scent is heating heavy, starting boozing fruit compote with heavy winery cinnamon. This is why I probably never found my way to the Dolce Vita. I am collecting extracts, and my parfum is even heavier and warmer than EDP and EDT. In the dry down, I agree, its woody like Feminite du Bois.
