Eau Sauvage Cologne

Bought this one blind the day after trying Dior Homme Cologne after a review here said they were very similar - mainly because I love the Eau Sauvage bottle styling! At first I wasn't sure I made the right choice but after a few wears I'm very happy with this. I chose it as a "simple" summer fragrance for when I wanted to wear something more straightforward than Jardin en Mediterranée for example. It is indeed similar to DHC in the sense that they are both linear, bright and juicy citrus fragrances. As the notes indicate the difference is this has a subtle vetiver base whilst DHC has a subtle sweet white musk - giving DHC a more lemonade kind of vibe as compared to, let's say, freshly squeezed lime juice topped with soda water for this scent. ESC is perhaps a touch more mature. Great performance for a citrus fragrance. I have it on today, one spray on the wrist and one on the chest. It's 18C outside and 23C inside the office and I can still smell wafts of it 6.5 hours after spraying. As for the scent itself, it's wonderful, a holistic and lifelike citrus explosion, with juicy flesh, oil of peel and a touch of twig from the petitgrain. Recommended if you're looking for an all-day clean and refreshing citrus.

I’m a great fan of Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum and wanted something lighter for warmer days. Eau Sauvage eau de toilette did not perform up to my expectations: weak fragrance, no lasting power at all which for an eau de toilette is not acceptable, particularly coming from Dior. Needs a bit of rework here. I came across Eau Sauvage Cologne, tried it and was completely blown away in a very good way. This little gem is like spritzing with sun kissed lemons and bergamot before reaching a minty note, probably caused by pink pepper and vetiver blended together. Some have written about the similarities with Eau de Courrèges and they are right. It performs far better than the eau de toilette to the point that it is hard to believe it is an eau de cologne. I sprayed in the morning the same amount as I usually do for ESP and could still smell it in the evening without spraying again during the day. I can see this being used after a cool shower in hot summers after sun bathing, and getting ready for an evening out with al fresco dinner by the beach and maybe more... However, it also feels like a comforting smell for anyone who wants to feel fresh and clean all year-round.

I’ve been wanting to try this for a long, long time. Until recently I haven’t been able to find it anywhere. The other day I noticed it was finally on amazon and I bought it right on the spot. I tried the original a couple years ago and it just wasn’t for me, not to mention it’s extremely weak and short lived. This reminds me of a mix between Dior Homme cologne and Dior Homme sport 2012. It’s very fresh, fizzy like a glass of 7up soda and immediately puts me in a good mood! It starts out with a citrus explosion of grapefruit and bergamot, which gives me the Dior Homme cologne vibe. After about an hour, it starts to ease into a fresh and grassy Vetiver that really rounds it out nicely with the sparkling citrus notes still present but much quieter. That’s where I get the smoothness of Dior Homme sport 2012 with its citron and iris combo. Longevity: 5-6 hours on skin, up to 10 hours or so on clothes Projection: moderate Sillage: leaves a nice trail Overall I give this a 9/10 and it’s quickly becoming a favorite of mine!

Lovely! People say Eau Sauvage Parfum had a sharp citrus opening but I never felt that way. The cirtus is more sharp in the cologne flanker. This is fantastic. I see why this gets compared to Dior Homme cologne. It's different but I guess this could be interpreted as a mature take on that light fresh airy Dior Homme cologne DNA. The citruses don't come off as synthetic like some have claimed nor does this have a urinal cake like vibe as some have said about the original EDT (I never felt that way about the EDT). This doesn't smell dated. It can worn by any age. Little creamy from the floral notes and hints of a clean vetiver. I love this stuff. Unfortunately I believe this has been discontinued or atleast it's very to find. I was lucky enough to find a 50ml on fragrancenet. I think Harrods has this on their website if you're interested. This is probably the easiest Eau sauvage to wear if you're concerned about smelling old or dated. This one will be the easiest for a younger person to enjoy. Great fragrance.

Phenomenal summer citrus freshie that is not sweet but made with an old school type of vibe but with modern flair. This scent will get you compliments from women and men as it has no offensive notes and it stays citrusy fresh throughout its lifespan. You can wear this in any occasion but especially during the warmer months and it is office safe. It opens up with a massive burst of citrus: bergamot and sour grapefruit. Then it quickly starts to soften a little bit with the orange and vetiver coming through. Then as the heart notes come through you get the hedione, galbanum with a hint of pink pepper in the background. This is going to be my new summer signature scent. Purely masculine citrusy fresh bomb that is unrelenting, somewhat linear but in a great way. You cannot go wrong with this one if you love the aforementioned notes. Overall: 9/10

10/10 Summer fragrance. You cannot ask for much of anything else from this... The citrus is vibrant, the midst are modest and drydown is delicious. To top itself off, it performs great for a citrus frag. When I spray this i bloody love it. For me this gives me great spring summer vibes like GIT, Dior Homme Sport 2021 and ADP Essenza. I'm not saying they smell the same just they give me the 'Hell yeah this is the ducks nuts' vibe, when I apply it. 10/10 for Summer 9/10 for general all round use only losing a point as winter while this still smells great it isn't a 'winter' perfume. However, there are some frags that aren't 'winter' frags that I use in winter. This, Himalaya, ADP Intensa to name a couple. Though on winter evenings I wouldn't reach for these unless staying in and just want a Citrus blast. Bravo!!

All I can say is that I WANT this. I'm a woman. I tried it on my skin in store and my first impression was: amazing. And in the evening I took a shower but could still faintly smell it on my arm afterwards, so I think it's quite long-lasting. The impressive thing about this scent is that it manages to stay a sophisticated perfume and not turn into some cleaning agent (like L'Eau Par Kenzo Pour Homme by Kenzo), because of the "overwhelming" citrusiness. I'm a biiig fan of Dior Homme Cologne 2013 which is also very fresh and citrusy. Both of these colognes have Calabrian bergamot as their ingredient so I guess that that's what I'm falling for. I think I'll love Eau Sauvage Cologne when I finally buy it! And by the way Eau Sauvage Cologne is way better than the original Eau Sauvage!

Amazing expensive smelling green citrus scent. Perfect summer refresher! Only problem: worst performance and longevity in the history of perfumery! Lasts for 1-2 hrs MAX, and I've tested this on myself and few others. And that 1-2 hrs is with heavy application. Time tested was during summer 25-30 degrees, subjects of all races. This is the moment you have to question the validity of some Fragrantica reviews. NO, this will not last! This will last for 1 hr, maybe 2 if you're lucky. 38 votes to long lasting is simply 'BS', or those who voted live in a vacuum space and they count extremely close residual faintest skin scent as part of its longevity. Still lovely, extrememly pleasant scent and I am glad I own it. Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 1.5/10 Sillage: 3/10

My enthusiasm for Eau Sauvage is back, one of the first fragrances I fell in love with. The parfum is my choice from the range, but that has a time and place. Missed the boat as we just go into Autumn, the parfum is now the choice. The cologne will be great for spring and summer use. In the initial spray, there is a burst of super fresh, bright, almost candied bergamot, you spray it, and you won't be able to resist wafting it under your nose. It stays citrus on my skin, string grapefruit, it never really gets woody on my skin, it becomes soapy. You need to be a bit liberal with sprays, I don't find it a particularly good performer, best on a warmer day. I love this fragrance. I'd love to see a bunch of people switch from Sauvage to this.

Fantastic spring/summer fresh fragrance that lasts longer than most! I get bergamot and grapefruit off the very top that dries down to combine with the orange and petitgrain. The first hour is superb freshness. As it dries down, the Citrus orangey vibe begins to blend with the Vetiver that comes forth, making this a fantastic all-day everyday fragrance. What EDP is to winter and EDT is for spring...this is for summer (although I will rock the first two year round). Longevity was surprisingly long. 7/8 hours is pretty good. Projection is good for first hour before working its way in. Overall, because I love the entire line, it’s an easy recommend from me. Saying that, always get a sample before purchasing a full bottle.

I've tried these days and I must admit that it has really surprised me but well, I don't go mad... I just like it. Somehow it reminds me to the classic Courreges. It's a decent citrus fragrance with a twist, that sometimes feels like feminine, sometimes childish, although the prominent vetiver note gives it a definitely manly character. Furthermore its longevity is higher than average citrus scent and it doesn't come close quickly but it's rather noticeable 3-4 hours after it has been sprayed. The beauty of the bottle and the white magnetic cap is unquestionable. I don't know what to think... I'll let it stand for a while and if it calls me, I'll go. 6/10

When you try this fragrance you can see the CLEAR difference between the many average houses/ citrus fragrances and the real deal....DIOR almost never let us down..this is a high class, sophisticated citrus fragrance...I may even like it better than Dior homme cologne, this has much more elements and depth to it... great for the spring and summer...and definitely not so old-school like the original... Overall a nice 9 out of 10 for a citrus fragrance...it does not get much better than this... P.S.: I do own and like Eau de Sud....but this is just a much better and more refined modern fragrance...besides, they are not that similar....let us say 75% max.

Love it, love it, love it! But needs a lot of sprays. And, best suited for the hottest of days. 10 sprays can give me up to 8h, which is okay if I find it discounted at my local retailers. One of my all time favourites. Forget all these snobs shouting "synthetic this, synthetic that", they don't know how much synthetic crap there is in their Xerjoffs, Dyptiques and what not. Longevity is good, but sillage/projection is very average the first hour or two, people will detect you, but then it's weak. I do get occasional whiffs of myself during 8h, though, so not that bad for a modern Dior eau de cologne. On my second bottle right now.

Citrus blast in first minutes. Then it turns into spicy, fresh scent, with still noticeable citruses. My GF loves it. She was even sexually aroused last time I wore it. Was it because of magical hedione? Or simply because she likes citrus fragrances. I don't know. But I like the idea, that fragrance could possibly have that kind of power. Anyhow, this is a great fragrance for summer, and girls seem to love it a lot. Just out of curiosity, you should try to wear it when you are with your GF, or other women. You can end up being very surprised :). Scent: 8/10 Performance: 5/10 Versatility: 5/10

close to smell like allure homme edition blanche edp at first spray, but finally different in evolution !! i just bought it 3 days ago, and i really love it !! i was not fan of eau sauvage , i found it too much " old man" but this cologne reminds me my childness ,when i entered in the bath room of my grand father, the smell of soap and cologne was floating in the air , and this great eau sauvage cologne smell like that ! soapy and class ! really love it ! blind buy if you can't smell it before, you can't be disapointed or deceived !

I smelled it in winter and yhought it was a joke and a complete miss. It was like house detergent or something chemical with a vague citrus smell. However I have tried it again this spring on a warmer day and I understood what it was supposed to really smell and what weather it was made for. It it fresh, elegant and highly energetic. A real warmer season wonder and another reason for smelling scents at different seasons to check if they are or are not in their most adapted environment. I love it now.

Oh my god! That was my first reaction after spraying this on my wrist on a hot and sticky summer day. It's like diving in a pool full of ice and citrus peels. But it has character, it's not watery. The dry down is a little softer, before it vanishes. The staying power is medium, and quite good for a cologne. On my skin it's pretty much citrus all the way, and a little vetiver in the end. I love the original Eau Sauvage, and I think this is an easier version. Perfect for summer. Ladies, try this one!

If you like Dior Homme Cologne, this is a better smelling and longer lasting version. This has nothing to do with Eau Sauvage EDT / Extreme / Parfum. Yes its a gentlemanly smell. But, still it works differently than those mentioned above. It has a more refreshing power and suitable only for high heat summer mornings. In comparison to Dior Homme Cologne, this one has more lime / lemongrass feel to it where as DHC has more bergamot to it. Also, the smell here is “creamier” than the one found in DHC.

An excellent flanker! Not at all weak, nor uninteresting! Citrus all the way, with a smart touch of pepper and vetiver. Alive and refreshing, it fits a man in the summer. The younger age of a classic scent, not similar but definitely related with the original. For those who like Eau d'Hadrien, Acqua Di Parma Colonia and the rest of the holly family of the mediterranean summer's colognes. Bravo, Dior! A deserved 8,7/10!

this was a gift, what a lovely fragrance. upon applying it for the first time, i fell for the bergamot immediately but what was so fascinating to me - the more i smelled it on my wrist, the more the grapefruit elegantly came through, almost politely asking the bergamot to move to the side a little so that they can stand next to one another, arm to arm. i cannot describe how amazing that was
