Eau Sauvage Extreme

SAUVAGE, EXTRÊME AND CONCENTRÉE It's a rare pleasure to review an old-timer like this one. I have been lucky enough to find this rare gem in one of my suppliers and for a sale price. I hope it will last for a few years because I will be very stingy with its use. This perfume is somewhat complex, just the way I like it! The opening consists mainly of minty floral citrus blended a long-lasting lavender note; the heart proposes spicy camphorous woods, together with aldehydes; the base makes you notice bitter sombre woods, with hints of amber, patchouli and musk. Comparing it with the original vintage or with the reformulated Eau Sauvage, the vintage "Extrême Concentrée" edition opens with a bit less citrus, so with less freshness. You may experience a stronger lavender and rosemary notes with some sweetness and a bit of patchouli. At this stage, you may faintly compare it either with the "Acqua di Parma Colonia" or Guerlain's "Eau de Cologne du Coq" DNAs, but it is a bit woodier, stronger and manlier than both. As the fragrance develops, you notice that the original "Eau Sauvage" herbal facets are still present together with persistent citrus and lavender notes. You can really smell the rosemary and the basil notes together with a mossy and woddy nuance. The original "Eau Sauvage" DNA is still recognizable. At the development end and during the drydown, the global scent is woodier and more resinous. It does have a slightly better performance than the 1966 "Eau Sauvage" original, and can be assumed as a more masculine flanker. In summary you do face a stronger, woodier and mossier Eau Sauvage. Although I like the original scent, I do prefer this one for being more complex, woodier, manlier and denser. The performance is "enough" for this type of scent, beating the original Eau Sauvage, and clearly defeating the last reformulation that I believe took place in 2012 (I am not sure if this date is correct). "Eau Sauvage Extrême" The "Eau Sauvage Extrême" (2010 edition) it's very good and by current trends can be considered as a more modern version of here analysed "Eau Sauvage Extrême Concentrée". Of course, "Eau Sauvage Extrême" is more appealing to the younger ones, but more mature people do not go clubbing all the time; that age concept does not apply to them. So, in my opinion, it's not as glamorous, classy and performant as it is the "Eau Sauvage Extrême Concentrée". Parfum Editions The two "Parfum" editions lauched in 2012 and 2017 are very good perfumes as well. In my opinion, they must be considered as new (and more modern) fragrances. They should no longer be considered flankers of the original "Dior Eau Sauvage" (EDT 1966 edition). In summary, Dior's Eau Sauvage Extrême Concentrée is super classy, manly and almost intoxicant. It's a magnificent complement for an Armani suit, a Ferragamo silk tie and a Burberry cashmere scarf. Please flirt with your loved one, and toast with two glasses of Veuve Clicquot Reserve. Life is too short not to be fully lived and perfumed with Dior's Eau Sauvage Extrême Concentrée. I think perhaps quite a few reviews here should rather be placed under the 2010 version, and they are far from identical. First: What do you get from the vintage version? I got mine recently and I have not been able to find out when the batch was produced. But being discontinued since 1993, it is at least 32 years old and unsealed since I don’t know when. I get a spicy and fresh top, with some basil, lavender and rosemary. Maybe bay leaves but not a lot. All in all the top is well blended, not very citrusy. That could be due to age, so if anyone get a sealed one I am curious to hear how the top is perceived. The mid and base go straight into exactly the same territory where you will find all versions of the OG I have tried: A bit skanky, a bit spicy, a bit patchouli, sandalwood and floral notes. It is also musky and maybe ever so slightly aquatic from aldehydes. All in all, the Extreme must have been a bit of an anachronism on its release in 1984, with a style that recalls the 60s and 70s as if the 80s had not started yet. Does it compare to Extreme 2010? Not really. It is rather a spicier OG, and the base is a constant reminder of where it comes from. Having said that, they are of course related and share many notes. It is interesting to experience that spraying them each on a different hand at the same time, they seem much more similar than when you give them a full wear alone in the spotlight. I would say that all skanky aspects often perceived grandpa’ish have been removed from the 2010. There was also mint added in the new millennium, in a manner that maybe gives old time barbershop vibes too, only different ones than those you get from the 1984 version that has no mint at all. Yet the 2010 is clearly more modern. I got a very good deal for the vintage bottle, and I am very happy to have it. I don’t think I need both (my 2010 is a large decant). But if you really like nerdy deep dives, there are interesting comparisons to be made. I can’t guarantee I’ll wait until the vintage is empty before getting 2010...

A class act. Been wearing Eau Sauvage Extrème my entire adult life. I was already a fan of Eau Sauvage since first discovering it in an airline amenity kit but was somewhat disappointed with its crappy performance - so Extreme was a no brainer. At high school I worked weekends at a city bookstore which not only gave me the opportunity to meet interesting people, but the disposable income to copy their style. When Eau Sauvage Extreme was released, I ran out to buy it and in the years since, it has been with me through major milestones and significant life events, from my high school formal to job interviews, weddings and funerals - as such it not only evokes happy memories but contemplation and reflection. Since its 1966 release Eau Sauvage has been popular and "respectable". In the 1980s - when writing about post-punk urban subcultures was a regular phenomenon - Eau Sauvage was reported to be the preferred fragrance of London's Sloane Rangers, and their Paris counterparts, the BCBG. The free publicity accompanying its association with upper class urban chic further consolidated the status and popularity of Eau Sauvage Extreme. Eau Sauvage Extreme's appeal lies in its simplicity and unpretentious elegance - the original Eau Sauvage was a stylish aldehyde variation on the theme of a traditional gentleman's citrus cologne: Tradition reinterpreted to become legend. Eau Sauvage Extreme is an improved version of that legend - with longevity beyond that of its progenitor while retaining its distinctive DNA.

UPDATE: Just tried the brand new falcon (with the magnetic cap) and I feel that this version has been somewhat reformulated. I already have got the old version and comparing this one, seemingly it has been diluted while the citric weight balance has been lowered in favor of some new-injected powdery note. I felt so disappointed as that lovely classic 60s French spirit has considerably gone away from this masterpiece, while also the longevity has been sensibly impacted. Sounds like the POWDERY-fashion has dominated the entire Dior citrus platform (maybe even the aromatic and woody empires of Dior as well - Look at the new version of Dior Homme Intense, not to mention the trend of the Fahrenheit Le Parfum to the powder tendency), as the same story went for Dior Homme Sport, on behalf of DHS 2012. It's a real disappointment to me, as a big fan of Dior citric line. However, yet it is one cute lovely feat, but I wonder why on earth it had to be reformulated? Apparently, the recession has mandated the producers to decrease the quality and/or change the formulation, in order to compensate the loss of raw materials price rise. Or is it just a matter of the fashion and modernizing the classics for marketing purposes? :-(

Comparing original ES, it is slightly sweeter while keeping the structure of its predecessor. It is extreme but not offensive or unusable for hot days. For those, whom admire the citrus part of ES, this one might be a bit weak when it reaches up to the middle notes and on. The absence of vetiver is sensible in extreme version. ES has a touch of earthy notes, while ESE is somewhat aquatic with a touch of aromatic lavender. While it could be worn in any season, spring would be my best choice. Indeed, it is a virile compilation of ES, so classic and with increadibly greater longevity (Original ES lasts so shortly). 6 whiffs worked for 13+ hours on me. Even after 16 hours you feel it's presence. A very rare thing in the citrus scene! I am using all Clarins Men products and love their scent; ESE does match this scent as well. So nice, classic (yet would satisfy the modern side), cute and pretty lovely scent, I can say. Well... It's a Dior! ;-) It does fit on the men 40+, representing someone like a successful diplomat or big manager. The price is acceptable, considering it is a Dior product. 10 of 10, nothing less! (standing ovation!)

Based on the note breakdown listed above, I was expecting more of an old school fragrance. Oak-moss? You can definitely forget about that one. Apart from a hint of some dustiness in the initial stage (a note also present in Eau Sauvage Parfum), nothing in this smells dated. My bottle from December 2017 smells minty and very bright citrussy fresh, typical of sport flankers. In fact, apart from the said faint dustiness in the initial stages, it's very similar to Armani Code Sport Athlete(which often got compared to Dior Homme Cologne). I can't do a side by side comparison between the two because my Armani bottle is gone, but it's the exact minty fresh sweetness reminiscent of a mojito. I'm very sure Eau Sauvage Extreme has a some form of Ambroxan in the base, although very subtle in comparison with the Armani. It does last long(some 6-8 hours), but the projection is very subtle and sits close to skin after half an hour, which is what some might prefer. I think the projection should improve during the warmer months. Overall, it smells good and is easy to wear, and I'll be reaching for my bottle whenever I want to smell like summer.

Vintage Eau Sauvage Extreme Concentree is strikingly similar to the original Eau Sauvage however the same herbaceous backbone is dialed up but it still indeed has a lot of citrus. It's slightly more dirty but still classy as hell, possessing the same old school 1960's french vibe that the original had, but somehow manages to have some charm from the 1980's as well. I could honestly care less but I get A LOT of compliments on this one to my surprise. The first day I wore this 2 people immediately complimented me before I could even reach my work station. The projection, sillage and lasting power are very much noteworthy as well- it is above average in all regards. I spray one at the base of my neck and one on each side of my neck and I can still feel it with me at the end of a work day until I shower it off, very rare for me. The 2010 and onward reformulated juice with the magnetic cap is nothing to write home about, and smells nothing like what I have just described...It's minty, powdery, and modern. The Concentree version smells classic, the few times Dior let me down. 10/10 all across.

Hello fragrance fam! On today's blog about Hidden Gems we have an amazing flanker titled EAU Sauvage Extreme. In my opinion its a stronger, and more basil forward version of the original EDT. I believe there was only one formulation of this perfume. Released shortly after nitro musks were removed from perfumery and discontinued around 1993 before the appearance of the "green dot" on boxes. Be careful though there is also a version that was released in 2010, that was more of a modern style ambroxan heavy scent, that bears little resemblance to any version of Eau Sauvage. The vintage versions will have the word "Concentree" in the title, on the front of the bottle. A modernized version of the classic Eau Sauvage, suitable also to younger people, as it presents sweeter and fruitier top notes with smooth lavender and patchouli mixed in, followed by aromatic-spicy notes (basil, coriander, rosemary) combined with some musty-green aldehydes, mellow jasmine and a creamy sandalwood that lead the way to the longlasting base where it loses some of the fruity-aromatic accord in favour of woody-ambery notes (oakmoss, cedar, patchouli). On my skin it has a wonderful evolution, similar (to a certain extent and adequate proportions) with Guerlain Homme Intense and Chanel Allure Blanche's developments. Great projection/sillage in the first 1-2 hrs. then close to skin, lasting on me up to 6-8 hrs. Overall a solid quality fragrance from Dior at a fair price. My personal ranking 9/10 ☣☣☣☣. Highly recommended.

This review refers to the latest reformulation called Eau Sauvage Extreme - Eau de Toilette Intense. I found it by chance in one of the local importers and thought that I was lucky to find one of the vintage editions when in fact it's a reformulation of the old one that was presented as Eau de Toilette Concentree and is now discontinued. This new presentation retains the traditional EdT DNA but it's heavier, more intense, like a night version of the old EdT which was very much a summer day fragrance, very fresh and citric and with the woody dry down. This has a similar evolution but the lemons are more bitter, the herbs are heavier, denser, spicier and therefore it projects as more mature. This makes it more suitable for elegant evenings and even as a fall/winter fragrance. A fitting complement to the EDT for lovers of the line.

If Eau sauvage is the best olfactory creation for man, what is this? In my opinion this fragrance is the forefather of the "Eau Sauvage" family. It is the classic (identical) but perfected (persistence) version. Sometimes reformulations are bad, but in this case Eau Sauvage Extreme reflects the concept "The pupil has surpassed the teacher". Roudnitska (which I consider to be one of the greatest noses ever appeared on this planet) has surpassed itself with this version in 1984 and later in 2010 Demachy has done nothing but continue in the wake of the previous nose. The fragrance is EXCELLENT !. A color for this perfume: Lime. A state of mind: Perfectionist. A celebrity: Leonardo da Vinci. Among my favorite fragrances! Rating: 10/10

finally got a bottle of this, not much different from the original eau sauvage...if the original is citrusy in the opening ..the extreme one is green , rich herbs ( smell wonderful ,too bad gone in minutes)..the drydown is strikingly similar..., i thought extreme was edp, it is just edt intense, longevity 3-4 hours..final score : 8/10 ( still very good juice) Edit : after a month wear it, my opinion changes..i think it has decent longevity, yes you can't expect 4+ hours in hot summertime (30 + ..C), but when i wear in cooler condition like office i get 7-8 hours, and it projects really good ,got compliments from my colleagues, men and women. It isn't as fresh as the original, but more formal / mature version 8.75/10

Between EDT and EDP. More floral. Slightly spicier. Easier to enjoy drydown than EDP...less woody or fragrance like. Very nice. 9/10. Rank as EDT, ESE, EDP? Update: After wearing these 3 over many months, I've learned to appreciate each of them even more, with the ESE making the smallest jump up, tho still very much appreciated. It doesn't have the sparkle of the EDT and does not have the stark sophistication of the EDP, but it is a sweeter, pinier, barbershoppy version of the EDT and very nice in it's own right. EDP has made the biggest jump up, perfect for fall and winter...the perfect sophisticated austere gentlemanly scent for cooler weather. New ranking is EDT, EDP, and ESE.

Definitely the longer lasting and potent of the original which I love much. Sophisticated and elegant scent for a gentleman. Classic yet so modern that easily beats many modern scents out there. The main difference is that the top notes last a little bit longer in the original. And this is a little bit more sweet, but of course not so sweet scent. I agree with krmarich, it smells to me chypre type as well, some kinda has similarity with Chanel Anteaus. Can be worn in any occasion and in any season, unoffensive but intoxicating :) As the many reviewers mentioned it has unisex edge also and I agree that can be worn by women. IMO it is the best of C.Dior so far.

This is an extremely pleasant flanker to the original Eau Sauvage. While you'll miss the sharp lemon opening of the original you'll get a great aromatic/herbal/spicy version with the same DNA. It still remains a classic barbershop fragrance and I wouldn't define this to be more modern than the original. And it's definitely worth a buy even if you already have the original. My only concern with this flanker is that they seem to have added some ambroxan in the middle/basenotes. It's quite subtle but you'll notice it if you've grown to be sensitive like me since it now has become the standard ingredient for modern fragrances. Did anyone else notice this?

I love the reformulated version of this. The old one which is the "concentre'te" smells wayyy too heavy and old. I believe that the reformulated one (Extrême) suits both younger (25+) and older generation (45+) well. I love this! This is class! Note: This is not the jeans and T-shirt fragrance. It's a "suit" fragrances. I think the bottle says that too. It demands respect. So, if you are going to a formal event (black tie or maybe office) where you demand respect and recognition, this here is your guy. Scent: 10/10 (very masculine) Logetivity: 8/10 (close to 7 hours on my skin) Sillage: 6.5/10 (which is good and safe)

Amazing! Much more herbal and “green” than the original (1966). I looove it! Basil, Elemi, Lavender, Lemon&Bergamot are the key notes. What does it smell like? It’s exactly like a cross between the original Eau Sauvage & Azzaro Pour Homme. Two great staple fragrances. This is better than the 2010’s version. It is a bit more herbal and bitter, which i love, but they’re extremely close one to another, not worth hunting down this one. Today’s Eau Sauvage (OG) is so neutered (check my review on it), yet this one still remains strong, masculine and powerful, yet modern. An AMAZING MANLY MEN’S fragrance.

This review is for a 2008 version, different bottle than the one shown here. A classy masculine scent. I would say this has more in common with it's young brother eau sauvage parfum than the original eau sauvage. The opening is very similar, I'm guessing the sharp bergamot. It's almost like the warm weather version, or rather parfum is the sweeter cold weather version. A very clean confidence boasting scent. I can't wait to wear this with a suit, it just begs for it. Not sure how the reformulated version is but this lasts 8hrs and projects for pretty much all of them lol no lie. 8.5/10

Dior Eau Sauvage Extreme,review Year of production 2017. A Beautyful rainbow in the sky and not fully appreciated and an overlooked gem,i won a rather tatty bottle on ebay a few months ago for more than half price.The opening is a beautyful rush of lemon, bergamot, and lavender,and it has a lovely old school elegance to it.I cant compare it to the 1984 formula as my bank manager would have a heart attack. Dior Eau Sauvage Extreme, An under the radar Gem. This more Floral take on the original is just as exquisite and enjoyable as the EDT and Parfum versions. Scent wise to me, It seems to be closer with the Parfum version on the dry down. Although a more floral take on the original, if you love the original or Parfum version or both, then i highly Recommend you sample Eau Sauvage Extreme, a powerfully fresh, citrusy, floral all season delight with excellent performance. an under the radar gem.

This one smells very nice. I was very pleased with it. I already have the Parfum (2017), which I adore, and Extreme smells quite similar. Performance of Extreme is softer (with 3 sprays, after 8 hours the scent was already gone), which makes it summer safe in my opinion. After being blown away by the Parfum I was going to explore other fragrances in the line. After trying Extreme I think I'll just get a backup bottle of Parfum insted. I don't think it can get any better than that one.

Back in 1984, this is the second fragrance that I purchased. I had never even heard of the original Eau Sauvage. The black bottle (who wasn't wearing all black in 1984??) drew me in. (like Antaeus) While Antaeus had a darker, dryer, and more serious appeal, Eau Sauvage Extreme had a fresher, more fun loving, yet classy appeal. I stupidly gave away my 1984 bottle, thinking that I could always buy another one. I didn't know back then that fragrance formula could be changed.

Having scored an Edition Concentree version for a decent price online, I can say that the original formula is a very nice one. Opens up with a sharp sweet citrus, almost candy like and then settles down into a smooth citrus/floral with some spice. A very comfortable scent, I've never tried any of the formulations that followed on from this but going by some of the negative reviews I'll pass and stick with my vintage bottle for now.

the 1984 version is (was) a pure masterpiece , the lavender and the oakmoss were brilliant . It lasted hours and hours mixing a soft freshness and a tender sensuality , it was like a dark velvet . The version sold now has nothing in common with the 1984 one . Now , it's synthetic , the lavender is sharp , it"s just a ghost from the past who wants to stay alive ...

I smelled this years ago when it was still pretty easy to find and I simply love it! It's pricey but SO worth it. All the notes come together so nicely..it's like a melody. I picture a sexy, hot movie-star wearing nothing but a leather jacket and nothing else but skin! Definitely a "straight to the bedroom" scent! A must-have for your man...to at LEAST try it!

this works great for warm nights. i love the original, but this actually get me more compliments. The lavender is really prominent, sort of air freshner kind of smell, but the Sauvage citrus dna is continuous. The drydown is more pleasant than the opening. Thats a plus. As any eau sauvage, it leans toward more a mature scent. Im 30 so i rock this just fine.

This is a really good all time fragrance almost in the same league as Lauder for Men. A truly classic and mature fragrance with the emphasis being on mature not necessarily being meant for older guys of age but those who have put all their boyish desires and ideals behind them and have moved along into the world of men.

In this case, reformulation is really a disaster. Got a white box bottle in a swap as a backup, because I have a nineties bottle using . Disaster, disrespectful to the original version. And don't talk about the original release/ formula, cause Roudnistka. Oh god, marketing is the worst enemy of the art of perfumery.

I know i'm in the minority here, but to my nose this is utterly divine, I sprayed it this morning, I can faintly smell it 10 hours later, reminds me of a lemony candyfloss, I can see why people don't get on with it, but my nose is in love :-) wish it wasn't so pricy, I take Habit Rouge every time.

I have acquired a 30 ml vintage square bottle, brown box with no bar code or ingredients, it is a great scent with great longevity better than the new one, although i’m not always fond of vintages but i found this one to be an exception.

This fragrance by Dior is masculine and elegant. What I love about it is that it can be worn in winter or summer. The herbs and botanicals just say "masterpiece." Defenitely a fragrance to have in your collection.

This one is way different that the original Eau Sauvage. On me, it's a sweeter, more accessible scent and I occasionally get a whiff of cinnamon (even though it's not listed here). Definitely unisex.

This is a very special perfume. Especially the vintage Eau Sauvage Extreme. Very powerful sillage and a great projection full of lemon and rosemary. Great longevity. An outstanding scent.

Vintage one is the best dark green smell with some sweetness, the next day on clothes it's the most beautiful sweet smell 10/10

Has nothing to do with Oscar de La Renta pour Lui, it's an original stand out aroma, maybe the best dark green scent.

ScenTalk My bottle is probably from somewhere between 2011 and 2017 and it doesn't have a magnetic cap either.

I’m not sure exactly when this happened—probably around 2010—but Eau Sauvage Extrême was reformulated, just like the original Eau Sauvage. While the original Eau Sauvage still retains its aesthetic identity, albeit with diminished citrus and chypre notes, Eau Sauvage Extrême has become barely recognizable. It's totally different now—dramatically changed. The vintage Eau Sauvage Extrême (ESE) was essentially a flanker of the Diorella family—more so than of Eau Sauvage itself. This group includes Eau Sauvage, vintage Nina Ricci L'Air du Temps, vintage Eau de Hermès, vintage Madame Rochas, Chanel Cristalle, 31 Rue Cambon (EDT/EDP), and even aspects of Amouage Jubilation for Women—all legendary chypres in perfumery. At first glance, ESE and Diorella might seem like the same scent in different bottles, but the nuances reveal their differences. ESE is a fougère interpretation of Diorella, and was also a response to the popularity of Givenchy Monsieur and YSL Pour Homme at the time. It opens with a more woody and spicy accord (thanks to lavender and coriander), giving it a wild, forest-like character. It also has a creamier nuance (I detect carnation and sandalwood, even if they're not listed), which makes ESE's drydown resemble Amouage Jubilation for Women more closely. It almost feels like a missing link between Diorella and Jubilation Woman. Truly a masterpiece! The reformulated ESE belongs to a completely different category. You might call it a hypothetical Terre d’Hermès Eau Très Fraîche—perhaps even closer to that concept than the actual TdH Fraîche, which itself feels more like Nicolai New York Eau Très Fraîche or Encre Noire Sport Intense. The new version is citrusy, woody, and overloaded with Iso E Super, reminiscent of Terre d’Hermès or even Bvlgari Man. I won’t judge the reformulation too harshly—some people might enjoy it—but it's still a loss for Dior to abandon such a distinctive legacy. Rating: 9.5/10 (old), 6.5/10 (new with batch 1N01)

Dior's Eau Sauvage Extreme remains a proper flanker to the classic Eau Sauvage. On spraying it, the Eau Sauvage DNA is immediately obvious. The opening of ESE is a rainbow of lemon, bergamot, lavender, a peppery coriander and bay leaf, plus a touch of sandalwood. It's lovely and has a nice old school elegance to it. About 25 minutes in, the fruity notes, basil and rosemary have all made their presence felt. Another five minutes after that the cedar and patchouli appear. Around 40 minutes in the citrus notes have mostly gone and the perfume has become green (herby) dominant. An hour and twenty minutes in and the orris root gives that powdery/talcum feel a place in the fragrance. At this point I notice an ambroxan-like note in the background. One hour and forty minutes in there's a little musk and possibly a whiff of jasmine. Two and a quarter hours in and ESE is fading. Around three hours and twenty minutes in the ambroxan-like note is in the drydown and the perfume has become a lavender - green - musk scent in combination with it. Five hours in and ESE is a lavender and ambroxan-like duo. It remains smelling like this as it fades away. It clings on to last somewhere between nine and ten hours in total. I like Eau Sauvage Extreme up to the point where the ambroxan-like note becomes significant. I don't know what it is - there's no ambroxan listed in the ingredients on the box - perhaps geraniol or cinnamal? But whatever it is, it spoils what starts out as a marvellous perfume and so I won't be repurchasing. I like it but I can't have a perfume that is lovely for about four hours and then needs washing off. It's a real shame because the opening promises so much, as does the first two hours. I've never had the original version but I can see why its devotees are underwhelmed by this version. What a missed opportunity - it's so close to being a thing of beauty.

The Extreme flanker to Dior Eau Sauvage is, to me, an uninteresting departure from the classic original. Extreme deviates toward a smell of more alcohol, and almost more of a deep aquatic smell as well. It certainly doesn't seem to be hyped due to the more recent release of Parfum, but I'd argue that it merits less attention that the original, and now that seems to be appropriately what it receives. It doesn't seem to exceed the original in any respect of its scent. Fresher? Perhaps. More alcohol and strength? Definitely. Wearable? Sure. But a scent worth owning in a world where the original exists? Doubtfully. Its use of lavender is not as prominent as in the original--Extreme is less of a spicy fougere than a spicy fresh alcohol type of scent. The lavender still brings a freshness with the citrus, but it's not there nearly enough to keep it interesting. It's a nice scent but I'm simply blase toward it after sampling the original this morning. Like the original, Extreme's performance (an "intense EDT") leaves something to be desired, though it is arguably slightly more robust in terms of performance. I'm unimpressed, though, especially given the higher price points (citing FragranceNet) of $52 for 50ml and $77 for 100ml. A good scent but it's not an addition to the original, just an odd departure. 7 out of 10

Comparison is Inevitable Extreme has a very matured Old Spice Tone, like a back-brushed, wet-gel look, clean shaven man, on a khaki uniform will wear. He is in his mid 30s, undoubtedly handsome, strongly built, both mentally and physically matured. It is for those guys, who love their own company, go out to hike by himself, spend night on a camp, below the starry skies in an African savannah. It has the citrus backbone of the Original Eau Sauvage, but it more herbal here. Rosemary. basil and lavendar dominate the scent. Most of the notes, listed are very well present. The citruses here are a little more bitter than that of the Original, giving it a more matured feel. Absolutely no similarities with Eau Sauvage Parfum, which is a myrrh bomb. Nice, but not a love for me. Sillage: Moderate Strong. Doesn’t projects like the Parfum, but still good Longevity on my skin: Approx 5 Hours. Longevity on fabric: Approx 6 Hours Occasion: Wear it on a Monsoon day. It is really good on a wet day. Quite versatile. You may wear it in different occasions, depending on your mood. P.S: Eau Sauvage Original still is my most favorite, followed by this one, Extreme. The Parfum has it’s last position. Rating: 7.5/10
