Eden-Roc

Immaculate crisp white linen and a huge-brimmed straw hat, by the sea, maybe near your yacht. Utterly not my world - one night at the famed Hotel Cap du Eden-Roc in Antibes costs what I earn in months , and I'd probably be kicked off its grounds on sight anyway - but this scent can take you there in scent imagination, at least. The gentlest, most outdoorsy and restrained, but recognisable notes of jasmine and coconut do sweep in on a very salty breeze - yet overall there's no mistaking the haute-monde, haute-couture atmosphere here; it is a recognisably Dior grande dame - still a very perfumey perfume, not a photorealistic scent of place. If you insist on organic realness, it may well seem harsh or overly chemical, because that rock-salt mineral aura is so uncompromising and front-and-centre. Yes, overall it still feels grand, formal, dressed-up, rather than relaxing or friendly. Its slightly talcum-y powderiness oddly brings even more old-school etiquette-book glamour. If you want a laidback summer idyll a la Loewe's Paula's Ibiza, no - this has far too much hauteur - maybe even froideur - for that mood. But that stony insistence on being what it is - icily correct, almost intimidating luxury in grand style - also steers it well clear of blundering onto the rocks of oily-sunscreen, or sickening sweetness, which so often ruin a beach-themed scent. Drawbacks: doesn't perform at all in cooler weather, and even on hot days, it doesn't have a huge presence on skin or fabric beyond a half-day at most. (Daahling, it would simply NEVER do anything so vulgar as to linger - and if the price of respraying is a consideration, then as the saying goes : if you need to ASK what it costs, then it's not for you.) But still, completely convincing to me; a fragrance for escapist dreams of joining the 1%. I'm not, and will never be, a plutocrat of the class this is made for - but I really do love this all the same. Well, a cat may look at a king, no?

I know everyones nose is different but the reviews here are as if everyone tried a different fragrance, disappointments, suntan lotion, no coconut, lots of coconut, mineral, no jasmine - I'm extremely positive to this fragrance, this is definitely my summer fragrance of 2021. Opening> sea salt, mineral notes and jasmine (yes i get jasmine in the opening, a lot actually) this combinations makes it smell almost like a seaweed/ambergris note Then> After about an hour i pick up citruses, not just your average bergamot essential oil smell but the freshest most natural smelling juicy citruses you can imaging sprinkled with flakes of seal salt - picture coming up from a dip in the sea and getting served every kind of citrus fruit on a platter, if you know you know. At the end> The coconut makes a promintent appearance, perfectly blended with the citruses and salt as, the dry down is a skin scent, salty, piny (yes thats my new favourite made up word) and labdanum and ofcource ...coconut. So there you have it 1. Jasmine and salt 2 Salt and citrus 3 salt and cocounut, so basically you had a swim in the sea wearing a jasmine fragrance, got up to eat citrus fruit and picked up the sent of someone wearing hawaiian tropic tanning oil nearby...Pure bliss!

This one lasts. This is a high quality performer that I can smell on my wrists 20 hours after applying. First hours yesterday, the scent was charming-succint-elegant, showcasing salty-bright, blue-green aquatic, with a touch of half-sweetened lemon iced white tea. The profile changed little throughout the day, however, I did notice a slight bit of sweetness increasing toward the evening. That would be a white flower sweetness, not a gourmand sweetness. This morning 09:00 Pacific, the skin smell on my wrists, and probably the dab points on my neck, revealed a touch of distant fruit: peach or coconut, with the salt and ocean air still grabbing my olfactory attention. Powder was and still is present in a wide, yet supporting role. I acquired this in December and have not left Northern California since, meaning I’d have to give Eden-Roc a try in the Spring and Summer. I have no doubts about its ability to keep a very attractive, cool performance in warmer weather, where, I believe it will experience a touch of responsible drama from mid-morning to sunset.

I got a sample of this after hearing about it from one of my favorite youtubers, SMLXO! I normally don't gravitate towards fresh, citrusy scents (I usually go for gourmand, vanilla), but this one is just soo good!! I have to say though, I don't believe it's anything super special, it actually reminds me of something from the 90's, but can't figure out what it is. I was hoping to not like this fragrance for that price, but I think I'm going to end up getting the full bottle. I'm hoping to find a dupe, but it's unlikely because I rarely like a fragrance from beginning to end. On me, this scent lasts quite a long time, but it does turn in to a skin scent fairly quickly. I've never been to the south of France, but I have always lived near the beach and this instantly remind me of sunsets by the ocean. The walks I take after dinner with that beautiful color of the sky and that breeze! I live in FL now and have been looking for a fragrance that works with high heat and humidity and I think this is it!

On me, this is basically as the voted notes would suggest. A salty citrus aquatic. It really projects, too. So much so that I'm considering buying it based solely on that (and the scent, of course). The coconut, however, comes across on my skin rather strongly. Not as coconut milk or water, but more the flesh. I'm not sure if calling this "unique" will perplex people, but it's fairly unique to me. Breathes new air into a genre that has long since gone a bit stale (with obvious exceptions). I'm not kidding. If you see "salty aquatic" and feel your eyes rolling back, give this a go. If you don't find yourself moved, you'll at least be able to appreciate how well this is put together. Oh, and it performs brilliantly in cool to warm weather. A single spray on my wrist in 10 degrees celsius and it's projecting strongly 3 hours past applying it.

My whole family and I love it. (Even my most picky scent sensitive family members!) Gentle. Tasteful. Crowd Friendly. An accompaniment fragrance, rather than the fragrance which becomes the loudest at a party. Sea salt, citrus and amber, warm rocks in the sun on a beach, all without seaweed or fishiness. On my skin: applied in a concentrated dot , versus smudged thin over a 5 inch area, are two different experences for me. Both I enjoy. Thin application is powdery on me, like the base formula for incense sticks, with light musk. A single concentrated area applied is an aquatic, gentle citrus musk mix. Greener. (On another family member it becomes sweeter) It is so soft, well balanced, and refined. I just think it is so beautiful. Elegant, classy, inoffensive, relaxing. Sits close to skin, several hours wear.

Eden Roc is clean, sunny, refreshing, jovial and sophisticated. The combination of salt, mineral notes and jasmine smells both intriguing and stunning. The freshness of pine and labdanum lingers on my skin until the end. You can't go wrong with Eden Roc in the spring or summer. I bought a 250 ml (8.5 oz) bottle because I knew I would overspray it, and I'm glad I did because I can't stop reapplying it every few hours. As for longevity and sillage, it becomes a skin scent on me after 3 hours. But it works much better when sprayed on clothes. Then it lasts for over 6 hours with very good projection. Eden Roc is the Riviera in a bottle. It has won me over and it easily became my signature scent for summer 2021.

This fragrance is so nostalgic to me it reminds me of a mountain near a rocky coast of the beautiful sea of my country. It has water, trees, earth, sand, rocks, air and brightness. It's a combination of almost all elements of nature and it's open, clean and fresh with some character to it. I love the kind of fragrance that can transport me to a place and create an image in my head while also being wearable. My only wish was that it was more affordable and lasted longer on my skin. It sits close to the skin and on me it can last up to 4 hours although I have yet to try it during the summer. I would recommend at least a small bottle to those who enjoy picturesque scents or clean and natural fragrances.

Did a review of this on YouTube "Rotten Rebel" and I really enjoy it. That lemon just POPS right at you and that "warm skin in the sun" kinda feeling is right there and it smells GOOD. It's nothing groundbreaking but I do feel that it's unique and I think it's PERFECT for those warm summer days by the beach or the pool and those warm summer evenings by the bar when you are on vacation. Luxurious, well-made and it smells great. The only downside is of course the price, but that's Diors Exclusive line ;)

My ultimate summer holiday fragrance. I always take it with me, whenever i go some place warm & beachy and it never fails. Salty coconut with pine, it is especially perfect now that I’m on Zakynthos near the sea surrounded by pine trees full of cicadas. It projects and last so good, not too strong but definitely noticeable. For me this even surpasses Jill Sanders Sun as the quintessential Mediterranean summer scent.

Oh how I love Eden-Roc! Such a compliment getter! She is not one of those "I have arrived" fragrances...instead, those who sit close to you will comment on how fine you smell! This is a beautifully made perfume - very very classy. I feel confident wearing Eden-roc...you just KNOW you smell incredible. I particularly love the gentle wafts of coconut every now and then...my go to scent for warm summer and autumn days.

It stays on my skin with the smell of refreshing sea salt, minerals and pine tree! I love it at first smell, relaxing yet classy, just imagine I’m sunbathing at Southern France. Btw I asked the Dior BA and he said there’s absolutely no coconut in its note. Edit: bought the 40ml bottle, my new favourite fragrance at the moment! Projection and staying hours are wonderful :)

I’m not the biggest fan of coconut fragrances but, if I had to pick one it’d be this. Eden-Roc has a quite minimalist, clear-blue-sky aesthetic to it. Fresh, salty, and buttery-sweet. I was gonna get rid of this bottle, but I genuinely tried it and felt it’d be perfect for this summer. Not my favorite Dior Privée however, quite nice.

I love this perfume! It feels like I'm taking a walk on the beach when I wear it. After a while, the scent of jasmine starts seeping in, and it gets even better. Pity it's so pricey, otherwise, I would have gotten a bottle, rather than keep using the samples.

A bizarre and fascinating take on Summer from Dior. Idk if I'd buy it at the cost for the full size but for smaller size, its worth it. Salty floral ... but unlike Dior and unlike anything else they released. Just lovely. "Fine".

Demachy captured it all. He put the beach at Eden-Roc into a bottle. The salt spray. The pine trees. It’s all there. I love Eden-Roc, and I am so happy that I bought the lotion, too, for the short while Dior sold it.

This is one of THE summer scents. So elegant, beachy, summery, delicate, and really enticing. Definitely draws you in. It’s like a humid summer sea breeze. It’s not really seductive but it is intimate and heavenly.

This is doing more successfully what Ashore by Amouage sets out to do. This one is delicate enough, whereas Ashore is brutal. This also smells similar to Parole d'Eau by Serge Lutens, but is less sweet.

Fresh, modern, summer scent. A great surprise for me. Its evolution is extraordinary. Unique and impactful perfume. I love! Sillage: 7/10 Longevity: 8/10 Scent : 9/10 Overall: 9/10

I love it from the offset! Fresh, salty, citrusy and very marine-y! I hope you'd trust me to say as much because Eden-Roc is a true fine fragrance even little girls can wear!

I do like it, though it does smell a bit 'common'. Like many other fresh aquatic salty colognes that are out there for much less. It is, however, very nice and elegant.

The salt notes takes an otherwise tame beachy-floral composition to a very cool place. In the style of BDK's Sel D'Argent but slightly more herbal and less synthetic.

This has similarities to neroli 36 by Le Labo. Salty, beach’s, aldehyde cheese floral citrus. It’s very pleasant and smells like a luxury resort concierge.

Perfect summer fragrance, a sophisticated, classy beach scent. (Although I love unisex fragrances, this one leans a bit feminine IMO)

I quite like this. Fairly unique. Some sort of retro soapy but also summery and young.

The dry down smells very cheap

EDEN-ROC (1D02, USD 230, 250ml.) EDEN-ROC is such a fine interpretation for Getaway Summer fragrance. Transparent, Sunny and all the Sunlight, Turquois Sea Water and Palm beach. This is all imaginary you can imagine from EDEN-ROC As first sniff, EDEN-ROC reminds me of Chanel Les Exclusifs Beige for a moment. Be the fragrance in same genre, the Summer-Topical-Getaway fragrance. However, EDEN-ROC take a full direction to Creamy Coconut with Salty-Mineral ambient. But by no means is very salty fragrance like AdG but it like smooth topical summer beach. The smell of smooth coconut here somewhat remind me of Pine Apple juice with MALIBU (The liquors) 9/10 as first impression Edit 1 on August 24, 2023 - I think EDEN-ROC is truly ok fragrance that I don't mind having in my collection.. after well consideration, I just don't like salty tone (that this one had) I may reconsideration a few time, this might after all passing to decluttering. Score: remains 9/10 as summer getaway fragrance (White-floral, Coconut and Salty ambient) Longevity: 7 hours+ (linger as skins cent that sit closer to the skin) Projection: Strong in first 2-3 hours, before fade significantly. Classification : Unisex (challenging point being this the moderate white flower-tone) Edit 1 : 9sept I pass this to declutter as I don't like Salty undertone, I prefers Beige for Chanel for Beach fragrance.

Eden-Roc is a slightly unusual take on a summertime freshie, consisting of a medly of sorts of the typical tropes. One part beachy, one part marine, it features citrus up top and a fresh pine undertone in an attempt at creating an olfactory snapshot of the south of France. It works, and is reasonably pleasant, especially at its opening, but it becomes a dull, one-dimensional suntan lotion scent as it develops, nothing special and overpriced for what it is. ER opens with a salty marine accord, nicely-rendered and natural-smelling. There is no harshness here, and the metallic quality is kept to a minimum, evocative of damp coastal rocks. There is a light lemon-lime quality up top, adding fizzy, bright freshness. The pine note emerges early on, underscoring this scent with aromatic green freshness. As it develops, the watery suntan lotion quality emerges, likely thanks to the coconut and clean jasmine. Some saltiness lingers, but it just becomes a little wan. It becomes musky as it fades. Sillage and longevity are moderate. It is a unisex hot weather scent. A pleasant, good-quality summertime scent that manages to be a bit unusual, ER is evocative of beach days, but it runs out of steam early on, and is ultimately overpriced for what it is. Still, I loved the opening. 3/5.

As with my experience with a wide variety of Christian Dior's Private line fragrances, this is a Minamalist fragrance as well. On my skin its mainly a salty mineralic fragrance, with some underlying coconut and very subtle citruses, definitely reminds me or the beach in a way, overall it's quite nice, I didn't like this that much when I first tested it, but after visiting the Dior Boutique again, I began to be quite fond of it, it can definitely come off as 'strange' to people not acquainted with mineralic accords, but it's quite charming in my opinion. I could see myself wearing this on the off day in summer, or when I want to smell unique but fresh. In terms of wearability, this is a good spring and summer fragrance with warmer or moderate days in autumn also being good, perfectly Unisex, with medium projection and longevity on my skin. Overall, 7.4/10, not my favourite in the Line, but it's an excellent perfume in its own right, it deserves a slightly higher score on Fragrantica in my humble opinion.

It’s a surprising one. I’m writing this as I gifted it to my partner so it’s not a review of how it smells on me. This is not a loud perfume but it’s certainly noticeable and I believe it’s performance suits it’s character. I get light refreshing whiffs of it off my girlfriend throughout the day which all add to a “summer in love” feeling for me. The fragrance is as mentioned, ozonic, citrusy which a jasmine and faint coconut backbone. Nothing here is overpowering and it requires heat and summer to unleash its character. This is a “vibe” not a “statement”...light and playful yet very sophisticated and somewhat mysterious. A unique fragrance and definitely sig. scent worthy for summers.

The most refined and sophisticated salty-‘beachy’ scent I’ve tried thus far. I can pick out the mineral note, but it is smooth, not weird or jarring, just interesting...jasmine and coconut are soft and not overpowering, giving the scent a very subtle sweetness. Very nice, well-blended and balanced scent...it has the perfect amount of salt, ie. not too much. Unisex leaning feminine. Moderate sillage and I can still smell it 7+ hours later. It is quite sensual, and reminiscent of clean, sun-warmed, salted skin after taking a dip in the ocean and air-drying under the sun. Solid like for me.

I really like Eden-Roc - especially the opening notes of mineral rock, sea spray and citrus. I also enjoy the transition to a soft, faint coconut mixed with jasmine. The problem for me comes with the dry down. After about 20 minutes the scent turns to a sweet yet very powdery assault on my senses. It’s as though a beautiful bouquet of jasmine got buried in baby powder. My body chemistry seems to amplify powder notes in a perfume, so perhaps that explains why it smells a bit overwhelming to me. I do love this perfume though, it is sophisticated and classy and gorgeous otherwise!

What an unexpected, beautiful, slightly feminine leaning blast of beach rock and ozonic salt. Every so often there is a whiff of creamy sunscreen with a musky jasmine that trails through. This scent smells like an expensive clean beach resort. I’m not typically attracted to marine ozonic scents so the sheer simplicity and sophistication really did take me by surprise. If the top notes don’t intrigue you, the piney labdanum dry down might draw you in. The sillage is aptly described as moderate, with fair longevity.

Heated & salty sand next to a citric ocean. There are little hints of coconut and jasmine, but they are definitely in the background. Feels like you've spent all day long frolicking on the beach and absorbed the scent of all the surrounding elements. Not a blind-buy, I definitely think sample and try before deciding to purchase. Best suited in spring and summer, this needs heat to convey the effect the scent intends.

Salty skin, mastique and zingy citruses. Lovely. A decent release from Dior before vacation season. I don’t have any typical aquatics in my collection because they usually stay plain on me. Eden-roc is in the similar family as Profumum Roma Sale. — zero sun lotion despite the summer scent category with huge risk for SPF smelling — There is 0 resemblance with chanel eau vive, for the record.

This used to come in yellowish juice , few week after Mr. FK took the lead the juice turned pinky suggesting a reformulation. The yellow juice used to be more fresh and aquatic and unisex ( masculine leaning ) The pinky juice is more Powdery and melow still in spirt of the yellow version but lacks the crispiness ( Feminine leaning ) Really want the yellow version back Cheers

I got a sample of this with my purchase of a Dior Homme bottle (2020). It’s a very subtle fragrance but I like it. Smells like you’re in a luxury resort in the Mediterranean. I love the mineral notes, the citrus, the jasmine is more subtle but there. The price for a full bottle isn’t justified because the performance is just ok. Good stuff regardless. 7/10

Eden-Roc is beautiful. It is gentle and floral and feels breezy on my skin. A gentler fragrance than Maison Margiela Beach Walk, more balanced, with superb and superior ingredients. Call me a snob, that’s fine but this is the best one out of all the beach-y fragrances such as Sur La Plage or Sel d’Argent or Beach Walk and all the likes.

I get powder notes here. Not so much any coconut at all. It's elegant. Great sillage. I like it. Though I was hoping it'd be more like Jo Malone's WS&SS. It's not at all. Edit on May 15th: I'm not reaching for it very often. Kinda disappointing :( I was hoping it would be like Wood Sage & Sea Salt, but it's not even close.

i think this is a super lovely white floral with a hint of salt and some creamy, almost lactonic notes. after the drydown, it turned a bit sour and chalky on me, but still maintained that nice, sweet but mostly fresh floral character. i will admit that i do not get much citrus at all from this, or pine.

This smells icy to me. An icy salty cologne, and for once I don’t mind the salt. I like it. However, it’s a basic b*tch of colognes profile. A cross between the most popular cologne and men’s aftershave. There’s absolutely nothing standout about it. And for that designer price? Don’t make me laugh.

The coconut note in this perfume is developing only on certain people with skin chemistry. My colleague and I have tried it and on him it was all smelling pine and aromatic. However on me, it was only creamy coconut! We can’t smell it at the first splash, only the dried-down can expose it.

Smells soo good subtle for all genders doesn’t have that usual men’s fragrances masculine smelling molecules or accords whatever and that’s what’s making it absolutely beautiful citrusy somehow aquatic along with a strong musky accord In short clean Smells neither salty nor metallic

Fantastic. Much much better than Balade Sauvage imho. Closer to Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt than balade sauvage is. Also reminds me of Guerlain's Nettare di Sole being 90% match. Same parent company to be blamed? Very fresh, ozonic, salty, solar fragrance great for summers.

Mmmmmh, this is beautiful and salty with beach-y tones such as coconut and sea-like vibes. It smells summery and soft and tender. I love it. The longevity is not the best, sadly but it’s very very pretty. This is masterfully blended and I definitely recommend sampling it!!
