Holy Peony

Delightful floral, fruity scent that is done in a feminine and elegant way. Nothing loud or heavy. Perfectly blended. It's subtle, light and fresh, yet it has a floral-fruity vibrancy. Initially, when I tested it several months ago, I didn't completely like it, but I tested in fall again and now I think it's one of my top 5 fresh scents from Dior Privee/Maison line. It's versatile - I would wear it for many occasions. It's polished yet fun. I do understand the references to Dior Blooming Bouquet because of the note overlap. They aren't very similar but are in the same ballpark. Blooming Bouquet is lighter, ultra feminine, delicate and innocent, while Holy Peony is a more confident and grown up sister (thanks to fruity notes). More importantly, it has a powdery touch that distinguishes it from Blooming Bouquet. I'm very impressed with vast majority of scents from the Dior Privee/Maison line. They're elegant, inoffensive, sophisticated and perfectly blended. Good for work and for occasions when you want to project put-together type of image. Even a friend who doesn't care about perfumes and who tested Dior Privee/Maison scents with me, was surprised and admitted that these are really good fragrances. I cannot comprehend why Dior didn't add atomizers to the 10ml bottles in the discovery set. I would pay extra for a spray bottle.

I forgot how much I love this! It might be another pink floral but it is a unique one! I cannot compare it to anything else and for me it is worth the price! It is beautiful, delicate, gentle but with an amazing longevity and sillage. Normally I would think it a spring/summer scent but I love it even in the cold weather we have now. It could totally be a signature as it is unique and memorable. I used to like La colle noire more but now I prefer Holy Peony. Will definitely be buying another bottle when this one runs out. I would recommend for test to lovers of gentle floral scents.

Holy Peony by Christian Dior is what my dreams are made of, this is literally fulfilling all of my floral fragrance fantasies! The peonies are soapy, clean, and elegant with the roses adding a lush, tender sweetness and juicy strawberries drizzled in fresh apricot nectar. I had my mind made up a long time ago about what my bridal fragrance would be and this is the only other fragrance to challenge what I had originally decided on. Yes, Holy Peony is to die for – I can’t say enough good things about it!

I find it interesting some reviewers are calling this boring. It's really quite beautiful and simplistic (intentionally so). The peony and rose are intentionally supposed to be the attention here and Demachy did so beautifully. So if you want something more in depth, this really isn't it. It's meant to celebrate peony and rose, and it's done so in a delicate way. It's not loud or harsh. The other notes really soften the two. It's just lovely light and feminine.

It’s far too expensive, but it is absolutely beautiful you will draw so many compliments wearing this. It does not smell anything close to Miss Dior blooming Bouquet or Miss Dior edt at all! Holy Peony is one of the most beautiful feminine floral perfumes in the world. Gorgeous! I think that £89 for a 40ml is cruel so I am layering fragrances at home to create a perfect dupe because I love the fragrance it’s so brilliantly pretty. Very long lasting too!

Holy Peony is one of my top favorite from Dior Prive, I noticed Dior offers only 1oz at the moment, does anyone know if it’s getting discontinued? About the scent is femininity in the bottle, Slightly powdery rose with sugared berries and airiness of the peony. Lasts very long time and projects great too. I’d say it does lean sort of mature like scent, it’s not your juvenile sweet peony body spray like a scent. This in one elegant and pretty.

If you like soft, watery florals you will love this. Elegant and chic. Although I love a peony note - sometimes peony forward fragrances can end up feeling screechy when they’re paired with lychee (think Delina/lust in paradise etc) but I find this blend more sophisticated with the mix of peonies, rose and red berries. Yes the rose is prominent even though it’s called holy peony but overall it’s just soft romantic florals done well.

Totally took me by surprise at how long it lasts on me. I had an early flight and decided that I’d try on this new purchase for the first time. The scent is pleasant and slightly sweet. I did 5 sprays and then went about my day. More than 12 hours later the scent still lingered on me and still pretty much pleasant. I love it and am now considering to try out other scents by Dior as well!

Soon as the rose and the fruits are gone The musk/ambrette kicks in which makes this a bit animalic. (ambrette not mentioned as a note but I smell a lot of it in this) In the 4 hour mark or a bit of woods join the ambrette/mask party Performance is great. No complaints. performs better indoors and cooler weather. Really enjoy this fragrance. Got myself a second hand bottle of this one.

Testing my sample; this is absolutely rose-centered with peony as the backdrop, emphasized by sweetly tart berries with a hint of spicy woody green. This is a bright and very girly fragrance, embodies its colour. Think pink ballerina tutus, pink bouquets, pink chiffon curtains, all that's girlishly pretty. Perfect for warm/hot weather, projects comfortably at arms' length.

Lovely sweet peony with a jammy rose underneath. Beautiful soft scent with a rich ambery and woody base. It’s quite fruity as well, but it’s mostly surged red berries with a bit of lipstick-y accord. Easily, one of the most beautiful peony scents on the market. Follow me on IG: scent.guide

This smells rose-y and a tiny bit spicy. It's lovely and feminine and it reminds me of Ambre Nuit. The rose smells natural and fresh, but the dry down is fresh and a little musky. This is a pretty nice fragrance and simple.

Officially in love, I used up my 3ml sample and found myself wanting more, it’s so feminine and elegant and sits amazing in heat. Longevity is pretty impressive. I absolutely love it. Sweet floral fresh fruity... so good.

I agree with review bellow, it’s not same as blooming bouquet, this is really feminine floral gorgeous a bit sweet scent. Very pretty, it’s in my want list now.

It's pretty but there's nothing to capture the attention. If you need a scent that's 100% guaranteed not to offend this is it. But it's boring.

It's close. But it's not that big gushing peony bomb I've been looking for all my life. Unlike most other imitations claiming to be pivoine/peony, Holy Peony has enough peony in it to have peony in its name. And unlike all the others, rose notes don't overwhelm it. They're there, but you still smell a light peony scent, and the fruit for once isn't obtrusive or cloying. And for a light floral it stays around on my skin for at least 5 hours. I edited this at the end of the day: Actually it lasted more than 8 hours; the first 5 hours I was still smelling light peony, and the final 3 hours or so were mostly light woods. The whole effect was pretty, calm, and pleasant. I haven't tried those other new Dior scents other reviewers cited as comparisons. Holy Peony is just a nice, light, safe scent. And I don't regret buying it; I'll wear it occasionally. I'm just not a fan of safe scents though. I'm not the only one who wants a big floral peony scent. One that smells like those fabulous pink peonies, or the white ones with little flecks of magenta, that come out for 3 weeks in June and then are gone for another year. What is their problem? Is a true peony scent impossible to produce, or just horribly expensive? Or are perfume houses afraid not many people really want a big floral scent, or associate peonies with the gardens of their grandmothers? After all those magnolia/tuberose bombs of the last 30 years, and they're still bringing out new ones, you'd think someone could make a big peony bomb, pour it into some sort of edgy magenta glass flacon, give it a Tom Ford/degenerate name and spring it on an unsuspecting public.

I nearly wrote this one off, but I'm so glad I gave this a chance! When I tried this on paper I wasn't very impressed. Even in the initial 10minutes or so of wearing this, I didn't think I'd enjoy it, but that changed. This opens with watery rose, peony, and green notes. The opening gives me a bit of a Delina vibe (a fragrance I do not like) but with green notes. However, after about 10 minutes the peony and green notes disappear and the fruity notes emerge, turning this into a jammy, yet fresh, rose fragrance. On here I see this compared to VS Strawberries & Champagne (love that one) and I TOTALLY get that comparison; this is like a more sophisticated take on Strawberries & Champagne. This dries down as a fruity, jammy rose and musk. IMO this is quite feminine. Performance is good, lasting most of the day. The more I wear this one the more I enjoy it.

Just sampled it. It is quite fruity, sweet and youthful. As a big fan of Blooming Bouquet and the scent of peony, I had high hopes of it. While Blooming Bouquet is a watery, fresh and simple yet elegant floral, Holy Peony is more of a sweet fruity and slightly woody floral with more depth. However, to me, they do not smell similar. In fact, it somehow reminds me of Delina but without the tartness. All three contain peony. If I had to pick, Delina would still win my heart as it is more sophisticated and creative. But if you just want a fresh dewy peony-dominant scent, Blooming Bouquet is my best pick. This is only my first impression. Hope it helps:)

I was super eager to try this and finally managed to get a sample from Dior. In my opinion, Holy Peony smells almost exactly like Parfums de Marly's Delina. The exception being that Holy Peony isn't quite as zesty/sharp, the longevity is nowhere near Delina's, and it doesn't have the presence (sillage) of Delina. While Holy Peony and Delina are both very pretty scents and seem to be widely loved, neither are my particular taste. In terms of value, considering both are so similar- I'd go with Delina. It's a powerhouse in sillage and longevity.

This fragrance is mostly floral, I can't sense the fruit notes. It's a strong mix of peony and rose at first then is dries down to more of a peony. This fragrance isn't very musky or woody, just a heavy floral perfume. I wish this lasted longer since it smells elegant and beautiful. If I could describe this scent in one sentence: this fragrance is like a tea made out of peony and rose petals drenched in a slightly sweet water. Definitely don’t blind buy as it smells ever so slightly synthetic like medicine upon first spray.

Truly beautiful girly pink juice. Am obsessed with it. Like fairies have sent you a wish, sweet high notes of loveliness and so much less obvious than similar simple pink peony options (ADP Peonia Nobile, Zara Shiny Peonies etc). However silage is non-existent and within 30 minutes it’s gone so the price is wild 😏. It’s not the same as La Colle Noire as some have suggested but scratches a similar itch. LCN has much greater depth and staying power and a bit more gravity. If I had to choose one it would be LCN all the way.

I really wish that Holy Peony could have an "added" understanding and interpretation of peony in the flourishing fragrance community. But after experiencing so many similar peony fragrances, I start to feel disappointed at them even they are really well blended. I prefer fresher peonies, and Holy Peony is just a tad too sweet and fruity for my taste. Still, it is well blended and high quality. It presents a natural and warm picture of mid-spring when things are getting busier and livelier.

Youthful, fun and innocent is what I get from this perfume. It's not a childish scent. It's what I imagine a princess wearing in her 20s before getting married. The Peony really shines here while rose takes a quiet backseat. I absolutely love it.

This fragrance is a floral bomb but in the best way possible. The peony and rose are so dewy and romantic. Sometimes you just need something to wear that’s beautiful and uncomplicated and this is it.

Wow...this is so boring and generic. Usually, I love a rose and peony fragrance because they are juicy, fresh and vibrant but this is blah. YSL Parisienne has more life than this.

It’s an ok perfume , I have it and I have Dior Holy Peony it’s not an exact dupe but same vibe. The Dior one is little greener with the Green notes at the base.

It's feminine, well-blended, non-offensive and pleasant. I like it but it's not worth the price. It smells designer.

Banana Republic Peony and Peppercorn is an almost exact dupe with better staying power at $20. You're welcome :-)

Have a small sample which I have tried out today. It starts out fresh with a pretty rose and peony mixed with a fruity red berry. Nice but nothing particularly special I thought, and was expecting it to disappear without trace pretty quickly. However, what actually happened next was that the apricot came to the fore. This stage lasts and lasts and projects decently too. I'm not a huge fan of peachy, apricotty scents unfortunately, but if you are and you have deep pockets this is a good quality, surprisingly long lasting perfume.

it's a straight forward one man's show. At first I thought "peony"? - I smell rose! ,but 3 min. later , it's only peony. Does it really make sense to make such simple ,short lasting and expensive fragrances ? I use it as house freshner .Not that it's bad,but I have half a ton of better things and only one life to live

Officially discontinued, in the UK at least. If you like this buy a bottle sooner rather than later. From briefly sampling in store, this is a rosy peony to begin with, later it gets warmer, more red rosy and musky with background fruitiness. It's a quiet one.

This is a very feminine rose dominant fragrance. I don’t pick up on the peony, but I’m sure it’s in there. A very pleasant and uncomplicated fragrance. If you love rose fragrances, this is perfect.

I found a sample at our house and tried it, it's quite feminine but not my type, there's something that annoys me, maybe the rose with the green leaves mix, it reminds me of grass and old people, it's long lasting and really really feminine.

This smells more like roses than peony’s. I would expect a more exciting scent for the price. I’ll stick with my Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, which has spoiled me for other perfumes.

Holy peony is a designer quality scent. Smells cheap. This doesn’t belong in the private line

Holy peony?? I love peonies, and was excited to try this... but this is an old-fashioned rose scent. If you like it, don't read, please, I don't want to ruin it for you... . . . Holy f*** this is bad... Depression Era rose SOAP. Strong sillage for 2 hours and... poof, it's gone. Totally overpriced, boring and uninspired. Peony is totally overshadowed by that dated rose note. The only nice thing about this fragrance is a fruit note, like wild strawberries, but it's still soapy. I already own fragrances that are very, very, VERY similar to this. Kate Spade in Full Bloom, same + peach. Montale Rose Elixir is pretty much the same scent, but on steroids and super synthetic. If you really need to spend $300+... try Chevaux d'Or by House Of Sillage... 80% similar, but somehow doesn't scream DATED. Mon Paris and flankers will do a better job, to be honest (if you want peony fruity florals for spring). Or just get a regular Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet. Sorry, this review is so negative. I expected PEONY, and all I got was a suffocating fresh rose. Such a misleading name.

I’ve tried 90% of the Dior Prive line and this is the only one I disliked. Super SUPER sour to the point it was sickening. I know peony is kind of a sour smell but this was excessive. At the dry down this started to turn into a sour milk smell on me. I guess the peony and musk didn’t want to play together. It was terrible. Someone said this reminds them of Delina and I am surprised they said it. I kind of see it, as they’re both pretty sour, but this is like Delina for grandmothers. The rose note in this one is super dated, vs Delina’s is more youthful. Holy peony is also WAY too sour and lacks the sweet smelling base notes that Delina has. These base note ultimately round out Delina making the sourness enjoyable.

One word: grandma. Not trying to be offensive, but this doesn't even smell mature it smells elderly. I actually ranked this one as hate. I wish I could smell what others are smelling because what an awesome name "Holy Peony" is! Wish I liked it for that reason alone! 0/10.

I am only just touching the surface with the La Collection Privée range, and already I am impressed. My perfume tastes are often leaning towards heavy, amber-centric and woody fragrances, however, from this particular line I have found myself quite enamoured with its softer, more feminine floral scents. Holy Peony is one of my favourite peony dominant fragrances. It must be said that Holy Peony is a rather simplistic fragrance, but features high quality ingredients and is very well crafted. The name Holy Peony is somewhat misleading as the rose note is quite prominent, and at times overpowers the peony accord. The peony and rose blend is very feminine, "pink," clean and airy on my skin, and whilst I don't mind the strong rose note, I understand why some are disappointed by this release. The red fruits accord provides a sweetly tart and sparkling opening, being bright and effervescent without becoming too juicy or sugary. There is a floral emphasis to Holy Peony, opening with crisp rose and peony, before drying down into a smooth, powdery and slightly musky floral blend. Holy Peony is an elegant, high-quality floral fragrance that is perfect for spring and summer. Of the many fragrances I sampled on my last outing to the perfume counter, Holy Peony stood out as a stellar release and was the only fragrance that captured me on the very first spray. Those expecting a pure, photorealistic peony soliflore might be slightly disappointed by the strong presence of the accompanying rose. It's not a complicated or unique fragrance in the slightest, but I rather enjoy its straight-forward scent pyramid and find it very easy to wear.

If I were a woman Holy Peony would be my signature scent. This one is so beautifully feminine, it’s a joy to take in. Elegant, poised, glamorous and sexy too, smelling it is like falling into a fairy tale romance. I’m a sucker for peony and rose. Obviously, these are very common notes and that gives Holy Peony a resemblance to a myriad of other fragrances. But they are done so well here that Holy Peony stands in a class of its own. The big difference, besides the price, is that there’s virtually zero focus on sugary sweetness. Without the saccharine notes present in many a mainstream fragrance, there’s virtually no chance of this being cloying. Holy Peony is all floral allure. As such, the wearer can be confident they smell amazing. I find Holy Peony to be aspirational in the best sense. This is one of the rare gems that, I imagine, will make you feel like the best version of yourself no matter the circumstances. Sillage is also excellent. Holy Peony leaves a beautiful trail from room to room in my house, and I’ve never been happier walking from kitchen to bedroom to living room. The scent lets me know I am in the presence of a lady. And she’s a lady to fall in love with. True to it’s name, Holy Peony is divine.

This is actually really well blended. It opens with a fizzy, almost champagne/beer brightness paired with a fruit note...I’m guessing apricot. For me anything fruity and effervescent leans into that fermenting territory which is why it doesn’t click with me personally. I should mention that I’m not a fan of fruity scents in general. It’s definitely a sweet floral rather than the fresh florals I usually gravitate toward. And even though the sweetness and fruitiness could read youthful, there’s a subtle classic and slightly mature undertone that gives it an “old school elegance” vibe. Even though it isn’t my style, I can appreciate it for what it is... it’s a nice fragrance, just not for me. I’d absolutely buy it for someone whose taste leans this way. Rose Kabuki is still the winner from this line imo.

I’ve been on a search for a while, for a fragrance that truly captures the soft, subtle, yet beautiful nature of the peony flower. It seems many houses pair peony with rose, in peony titled fragrances and I’m not sure why. They compliment one another, but the rose always tends to take precedence. Holy Peony is almost identical to La Colle Noir, of the same house, until dry down. The former tends to phase away from the rose, but the fruits still cover the peony too much. This is a pretty scent. I think it can be enjoyed, but as one who is very particular about fragrance and is on the search for a parfum that truly boasts its peony, this just isn’t it. Also, if I had to choose between this and La Colle Noire, for beauty of composition and overall scent profile, I’d choose La Colle Noire.

Ok Christian Dior, listen here, how can you have a frag called Holy Peony when it is 80% rose?? For peony lovers like myself I was HOLY disappointed that the initial smell was all rose. I am not a rose lover myself so initially this scent was not for me. The one saving grace for me was the citrusy nectarine (yes it’s nectarine to me) that opens up after 1-2 hours. WOW. That is such a sweet treat in wearing this scent. 3/5 I bought a tester of this frag but I would not buy a whole bottle. The quality and artistry are there, it’s a beautiful experience I would recommend to at least try if you are a florals babe.

Peony has always been a problematic note for me because it always smells like screechy fresh floral shampoo to my nose. I am curious about this, though, as I respect the House of Dior and want to believe that this is not some cheap, generic, pink shampoo smell. Think I'll spring for a sample and see if my assumption is right. :)

This fragrance is pretty however it reminds me of Delina by Parfums de Marley. It’s rose and musk and has a touch of creaminess to it. If you have Delina I think you would be ok if you didn’t buy this. Pretty girly fresh scent. The color of the perfume says it all.

I like it. Not in love. It's pretty straightforward. Peony & rose. It's cute. Approachable. Can't see anyone not liking it. It's just not rememberable. Ambre Nuit is a showstopper. This is more bridesmaid than bride.
