Hypnotic Poison Roller Pearl

I decided on buying this last year as I was curious to see if roll-ons last longer than sprays, without reading the label that said "EDT". (IT HAS A DIFFERENT SMELL FROM THE HYPNOTIC POSION EDT)While I usually dislike eau de toilettes, as they're very weak and sometimes quite expensive for what they offer, I can confidently say that this fragrance lasts a long time and can easily be reapplied, since the bottle is quite small and fits in most purses. I haven't worn it a lot until this autumn however it has quickly advanced on my list of favorite perfumes, not only because of the beautiful symphony of notes, but also because of the general vibe that it gives off(moulin rouge, vampire, dark academia, even goth in some cases). The perfume itself also lasts a long time, as I have barely reached half of it since september(I apply it to my pulse points). It has a strong smell of vanilla combined with almond, as the notes suggest, however it has a distinct scent that you can recognize anywhere. On some individuals the vanilla note can be accentuated more, while on some others, their ph level brings out the almond. It's very delicate and elegant, and can be worn both during the day or night, however you sometimes have to stand quite close to somebody in order to smell this perfume. I wouldn't say it's a mature scent, as it is more innocent than the EDP, but it's definitely a little impactful than other vanilla/almond fragrances. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a fancier perfume, which is moderate but lasts a long period of time. Smelling it in person is the best option, but it's also a safe blind buy, since the smell is pretty straightforward.

I absolutely love this little gem! It was a gift from my boyfriend, he loved that it was a perfect little object I could take with me everywhere. He loves it (well, he chose it for me!) and I am so glad that he got it for me in this roller pearl version. I usually prefer spray bottles but this is such a luxurious way to apply perfume: I apply it generously on my neck, wrists, behind my ears and a little bit on my chest. I catch myself sniffing it for 10+ hours. Had it on since this morning and now, past 9 pm, I can still smell it. Hope I never run out of it, it's a treasure.

This was a great introduction to hypnotic poison for me. I only recently started wearing this perfume. I then went out and bought a 100ml bottle because I loved it so much. My mum loves it too. Personally this wears nicely on my own skin as well as the 100ml bottle. The roller ball is subtle and allows you to add just a little if that’s all you feel like. Beautiful scent.

One word gorgeous little gem, on opening is very light but the dry down vanilla is to die for even better then the perfume the notes are a little different. It’s great for bed time or when your just relaxing with Netflix and your man a true classic and original in every way the sambac jasmine does something with the almond and vanilla it’s magical ;)

A delicious and enticing scent. It sets a vampiric atmosphere, without being too dark. It reminds me of a velvety red ballroom in an old castle. It could be the scent of an uninvited guest at a gothic masquerade. It sets a mysterious feminine aura, while still being wearable and approachable.

It's the same as the EDT version. Out of all the Hypnotic Poison fragrances, this one is my absolute favorite. It has a sweet, alluring scent that's both comforting and seductive. On my skin, the star anise stands out the most and that's exactly what I love about it!

I find this delicious. I always think of it as mediocre until I smell it again and then remember I love it. It is soft and beautiful, gives me a gentle scent bubble. Super feminine skin scent. I get soapy jasmine and vanilla marzipan. To me it is simple but classic.

On me, smooth almond and vanilla, a hint of root beer/dr pepper. Not overpowering and eternal like the edp, which I like. Lasts over 8 hours as a skin scent though. Definitely on my to-buy list.

This is different than the EDT Not a travel size!! Its a lighter version , its vanilla dominant with less sillage. I prefer to wear this in the morning. Its still cozy and warm and feminine.

Smells EXACTLY like the EDT version. Even though the notes look different. Doesn't last long. One of the best fragrances ever created!

One of the most legendary scents - it is hypnotizing. The roll-on oil is great to carry in a purse to refresh your scent or to quickly and gently remind you the hypnotizing warmth and sensuality of Hypnotic Poison but it is simpler that the eau the toilette. Perceivably simpler. In a way easier to wear since the classic version is a big diva. This version is an enhacement, or introduction. I am not sure I needed it, but I have it and I like it. The bottle is cute and solid, nothing will spill, the roll-on works great. I am happily reaching for it if I dont want full intensity of my vintage bottle which is evening out only in intensity and drama.

This fragrance is very smooth and sweet on me, on both application and dry down. It’s mysterious but comforting, a very sexy wintery scent that would be good for the festive season. It almost reminds me a bit of a (much) cheaper version of Italica by Xerjoff. I did have to decant it into a spray bottle because it’s impossible to get a decent application with the pearl ball. Scent: 8/10 Projection: 8/10 Longevity: 8/10 Versatility: 6/10 Price (at full price): 5/10 Overall: 7/10

Wearable during a day as this is subtler vanilla-sandalwood with heliotrope-almond sheen. Perfect for carrying it around with you to deepen your experience after work. Subtle sillage that does not overwhelm but I feel it on but only for 3 hours. Then it turns into light sandalwood and stops projecting. After many hours it is a skin scent and jasmine comes to the front.

I ordered this for Dior. And was so happy with the smell and ez application but unfortunately the bottle only lasted me a couple weeks. To expensive to buy roller ball. Might as well buy fsb. But it is a fabulous fragrance.

Play-doh ish vanilla almond. I love the smell especially during the winter and fall but wish it lasted more than two hours.

I've wanted to try this perfume for ages, and when I had to redeem a Dior "free mini lipstick with any purchase" before January finished, you best believe I picked up this little doozy. It's got that great unique vanilla, almond, and liquorice (actually star anise, but I digress...) scent I was intrigued by. The bottle is also awesome. Now for the negative: - The roller ball; however, only an EDT - AND IT SHOWS! 30-45 minutes later after applying it, it was gone. It does seem to be a factor other reviewees (see below) have noticed! Rude, Dior! I'm interested in doing what "fragrance2016" mentioned, and decant a bit from the rollerball into an empty spritzer / atomiser. *** Kitty rating: 5/10 (Due to shockingly low longevity from a former BEAST). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: The dry-down has me shook, though - brief as it is, I was pleasantly surprised that the lovely, tantalising scent near me was my own wrist! *drool* Kitty rating: 6/10 (this EDT weakness bothers me, still)

V disappointed - I totally thought this was the original Hypnotic Poison but just in a roller pearl/smaller size & thus cheaper... (didn’t want to splurge on a bottle) I didn’t realize it’s a softer & different version of HP, not what I was expecting and doesn’t satisfy my 20+ yr hiatus on the frag, guess I’ll have to get a fsb to scratch that itch. Now... the EDP or edt? I really want to experience it fully again, I haven’t smelled it since early 00’s but remb it being amazing, potent, long lasting- def not edt performance & don’t remember buying an edt vs EDP, but know the bottle looked like the photo above, w the classic opaque dark burgundy bottle- now the edt is brighter red bottle & EDP diff too w ribbon & ombré effect.... Hmmm

I don't know why but I LOVE THIS juice!!! Over yeears I loved the edp on other women and so I tried to like the regular edp (spray) on myself for too long...but I can't stand the playdoh-smell that I get on my skin still. Not the same with this roller pearl...it kinda starts minty/coconutty/peary, what I don't really like either. But then.... Oh my goodness, the drydown!!! Vanilla-goddess with spices, woods, musk, marzipan (almonds), a little bit of roses and apricot, jasmine.... hallelujah!!!

Accidentally ordered the roller Pearl formula, thought I was buying a travel spray... anyhow I was fine with the concept of the roller over spray, but the roller delivers very little scent. I had to shake it repeatedly for it to put a small amount out. Even after applying and applying the scent is very weak and average vanilla. The regular spray version is nice, but I wouldn’t buy this intentionally, to difficult to use and too weak .

Oh my god, I thought I was insane because my rollerball did not smell like the EDT notes. This explains the anise that I kept smelling... Yeah, the almond and gourmand thing is overwhelmed by anise, which translates as a licorice top note on my skin. Now I'm annoyed that Dior doesn't really advertise this difference.
