Hypnotic Poison

I've loved Hypnotic Poison since it came out, but it wasn't my style. Or more accurately, it wasn't 'supposed to be' my style. As I've mentioned in other reviews, when I hit my 40's I found that my glittery basket of F's was running dangerously low, and I didn't have any more to dedicate to appeasing the fragile sensibilities of people that don't matter. So now I wear what I want, at whatever volume I want. If the silly peasants want to storm the castle or drag me before the church over my sillage and sparkle, let them try. Whenever I wear this, my mood shifts. You just can't be in a rotten mood when you smell this good. It has just the right amount of sweet vanilla without being juvenile or cloying, balanced perfectly by rose, white florals and bitter almond. Yes, it resides in gourmand territory, but you're not going to smell like a sticky Sunday brunch. It's complex and anything but linear or boring. And much like Debbie from the dive bar, it's already been around the block more times than the mailman. The beauty of wearing Hypnotic Poison in 2026 is that you aren't going to find yourself sitting in a room with 10 other people wearing it. Try pulling that off with literally anything by Gaultier. Good luck, dearie! I won't even bother with predictable whining about reformulations. Really, MUST WE rend our garments over every older fragrance? It's like waking up in the morning and seeing the sun. "Oh, merciful heavens! The sun! How could I have known this would happen?! Someone call TMZ!" YES: this has been reformulated to hell and back just like EVERY OTHER fragrance from the 90s. While it has suffered and it isn't the deliciously overbearing powerhouse it once was, it's still absolutely gorgeous. Dare I say, it's more wearable now that it's been tamed a bit. Hypnotic Poison still stands out as unique in a world full of mundane vanilla try-hards and weak skin scents in tacky packaging. It's guaranteed to pull compliments and give you a spring in your step, no matter what nonsense is on the agenda. Channel your inner Debbie, and let the silly peasants clutch their pearls.

The High-Water Mark for Almond Scents... Like the almond filling in an almond pastry, topped with almond icing, slivered almonds and powdered almond sugar. I've loved this scent since it was released in 1998, and the best memories I have from wearing this are in icy winter where it turns any snowflakes falling around into powdered almond sugar. There is definitely a sweet "paste" texture here. Overall I get an almond-paste & pastry scent, with the other notes serving to enhance different facets of the almond pastry. Opens with a burst of coconut accented by faint hints of plum & apricot, and already you can feel the almond-vanilla base swelling through. That deepens into the heart where white-floral touches are added - a slight creaminess from tuberose, and a purple-leaning jasmine helps to continue the faint plum, accented by nose-tickling caraway. Caraway here with the help of jasmine leans to anise giving a faint licorice-y note. That all rests on a vanilla-almond base that was there all along, rounded out by creamy sandalwood and fluffy musk. This has inspired many dupes, clones and similar scents, as well as informed the way almond is portrayed in perfumes (for example My Burberry Black Elixir by Burberry, and more). Has fantastic performance, and although the performance may not be as nuclear as it once was, for me it's still a one-spray-wonder. Fantastic on its own, or layered with scents you want to boost an almond facet too. Layers well with other almond scents, lactonic scents, white-florals, rose, pistachio and more, but I like to layer it with almond milk scents (like Dolce Garden Dolce & Gabbana) or rose scents (like Aqua Allegoria Forte Rosa Rossa) to get a Turkish Delight vibe. It's a love for me: Enjoy!

I wrote an review two years ago saying how I didn't like HP... Well scratch that now. You don't choose HP it chooses you! I got recommended this first time by a pregnant sales girl (thank you!) and she said it smells like delicious birthday cake! So I sprayed, and oh yeah it was cake alright, but why on earth do you want to smell like cake? So you can be eaten alive? Cheers! So for the longest time I thought HP is the worst thing I can put on myself. Shopping in department store once found a friggin sample of HP in bag (thank you Dior counter lady) and I started carrying it around spraying my friends with it, because I thought it was funny, ok? None of my friends liked it, said "the smell gave them a mini panic attack". I started spraying myself with HP at some point. Don't know why I did that if I hated it so much. The little vial lasted me so long, and eventually ran out. Didn't know until shopping at the mall once and told everyone I need to go to bathroom while in fact I ran to Dior counter to spray HP on myself. Just felt that I need that rush of sweetness down my nose so I can keep going! It's like you have a long flight and anxiously waiting for that first cigarette once you get off the airplane. I was so disappointed at myself when I finally bought a bottle. Think I have been Hypnotic Poisoned? Sometimes I stare at my HP bottle and thinking, you evil little shit. and the bottle stares me back in its victory.

My wife wore this when we first met 16 years ago, I knew or cared nothing for fine fragrance at the time and she still brings up that I said "it smells like play-doh"... Fast forward through the years and this fragrance represents every argument about pure carnal lust and sexual promise to a man. This. Fragrance. Is. Horny. It's Desire, a sensual, dusky siren with long raven hair and full, sexy hips. Monica Bellucci in TheMatrixReloaded, Salma Hayek dancing on the table in FromDuskTilDawn. This fragrance is for a confident woman with class who does not question her own actions. She knows her decisions are the right choices and everybody knows she has reached her decision eloquently and fairly. But of course I'm very bias and maybe different circumstances surrounding my introduction to this fragrance would have a very different reaction. I think it is one of the fragrances that got it just right. For me. Excellent projection and diffusion, hold and longevity. My wife loves it anyway and I always try to get her to save it for special occasions just because it has such a, ... well... 'Hypnotic' effect on me(I also get a similar effect from PRADA Amber, but Amber requires patience before it reveals that soft, tangy, vanillin 'heat' that is much more carnal and brutally passionate than Hypnotic Poison). Hypnotic Poison for the seduction, Amber for the act.

Hypnotic Poison is a hidden gem once you can train your nose to actually smell it-- when I spray it on skin, it's extremely intimate, having little to no presence. It sticks better on my clothes than on my own skin. Weak projection aside, it's easy to see why Hypnotic Poison is iconic-- the very bottle and vibe imagined by the smell give classic beauty. Very unique, a bit smoky and sweet, but it's still very, very subtle, almost like the smell of an actual, warm, baked apple. I imagine it could be easy to layer with a smoky or even incense-like fragrance, creating an interesting profile, maybe another subtle gourmand. The thing about Hypnotic Poison, and what seems to be everyone's complaint: on my skin, I found that it still smelled good, but the more it dried, I began to pick up hints of burnt plastic, even slightly like an alcohol wipe? I can see where people get the play-doh smell from. I still think that it's really a beautiful and elegant perfume, but it's hard to justify such an expensive purchase considering the longevity and sillage. I personally think it could be worth it, but I'd advise against blind-buying it considering how many complaints have been made with their skin.

I’m not the best with reviews so bear with me! I always say “this is my favorite perfume” for all the perfumes i get but THIS one is my favorite. It’s a light vanilla that doesn’t feel cloying in the hottest of weather. It’s funny because I get a slight root beer smell from it but the more I’ve been wearing it I’m smelling more of the almond and vanilla notes in it. I also did notice that the dry down smelt very similar to the initial spray of my warm vanilla sugar pleasures but lighter which I LOVE! I feel like you can wear this all year round since like I said before gives me root beer float vibes or a more natural root beer smell which is funny how different our noses can be. Reading others reviews I also agree with that they have to say to. I get great long with on me despite being a toilette and I’d say and the dry down smells stronger than the top notes and is the nicest and prettiest vanilla almond smell I’ve smelt. I love how it’s not a cloying vanilla and even my mom who HATES vanilla was surprised she liked it because she hates vanilla with a burning passion lol. 10/10 perfume such a pretty delicate smell

Oh well, Dior does their magic again! As far as I can tell, literally every single person senses something different—even slightly, but different... For me, the fragrance opened with aromatic dark cherry and plum, toned with red rose (it feels like the one you'd use for drinks for some reason), a hint of coconut for slightly tropical vibe, and a pleasant, not heavy powdery background with a musky undertone (it reminds of Pure Poison a bit). After some time, the dark-cherry-red starts to command all other notes, it uses other notes to make itself feel stronger, deeper, greater. Vanilla background balances the composition, but it's not too prominent. Almond sweetness somewhere there. Later, sweetness fades away, but pink bubblegum adds to the dark cherry red. It will sit there for some time until it becomes pink-floral—with slightly musky white flowers undertone, to keep making the dark cherry red tender and, in fact, hypnotic and mysterious. Okay on light-coloured clothes. Not safe to buy it blindly—you have no idea how exactly it will smell for you and how it will transform on your skin.

Hypnotic Poison is like a time portal for me, it takes me back to a moment on a bridge looking at Christmas lights with a girl I was nervous with I could barely breathe. She kissed me before I drove her home and her fuzzy sweater left pink threads on my wool coat. It was a defining romantic moment back when phone numbers were committed to memory and dates were magical. Fast forward decades and it has become a scent that I find calming , like a warm chai on a cold night. It still sparks a sense of romance matured from nerves to comfort. I use it just to change my mood after a busy day. I wear for my partner who also loves this hug worthy scent. While it leans heavily into feminine territory, Non-binary and guys who are comfortable in their own skin can pull it off too if you are off the beaten path and confident. I have yet to try the EDP, but I want to. For now I am content with the EDT and I find it lingers just long enough to make me happy.

Way too much hyped as a "goth perfume" because of the bottle when its way more sweet and sultry. Its def an iconic and nostalgic scent, well blended, doesnt smell cheap at all, i still love it. I dont smell any fruit at first, only vanilla, coconut and a bit of soft almond. As time progresses you can smell more flowery and woody notes. However as i said its way too much hyped for what it is, yes it is good, but weak performance and depth for such an expensive perfume, i was pretty underwhelmed. And yes it is heavily dependent on skin chemistry (i can def smell the "play doh" scent before applying it on me) but thats what stores are for (testing). Dont dump the whole bottle on yourself and then expect it to smell good. Edit : i can finally smell a bit of fruit at the beginning. But its powdery, barely there, slightly enveloping the other notes. Best way i could describe it is that smells like the skin of a fruit rather than its flesh.

Timeless . For the woman who ages gracefully. This is what comfort smells like for me. I wish my nasal receptors could perceive this delightful scent 24/7. I love this so much my only wish would be for it to last longer than what I experience it for. Some days I get only 2-3 hours and other days I can smell this for 6 hours or half the day. It’s definitely one of my most repurchased bottles and I hope they come out with a stronger and intense version some day . Every dupe out there I try to see if it matches my love for this and so far I have scandal le Parfum on the way because they say it smells just like this. I’m hoping! I tried JHAG’s MMmmm... and it was a huge fail I could not stand a few of the notes it has. There’s something so classy about this scent I can’t wrap my head around why I’m obsessing. Maybe because it makes me feel like a beautiful woman .. reminds me of happy memories. It’s effervescent.

Hands down the most repurchased fragrance in my collection. I already finished 2 bottles, have a 3rd with a dent that I’ve macerated for a year, & just purchased a new one because I love this scent so much. This is also my 3rd comment on hypnotic poison. Safe to say I am obsessed and this is my signature scent. The only thing I wish was better is longevity, projection ,etc but even with that this scent is so special to me. Reminds me of how fleeting life is. How important it is to savor every last moment of every last second. That we don’t get do overs ... but we do get the chance to “do better” .. reminds me of the best parts of my childhood .. I love the almond vanilla coconut tropical resort luxury five star suite , old money feel that this gives me. And to be honest, everything anyone has ever hated about this is also why I love it . Playdough-y, rootbeer, plasticky, coconutty, etc love it all.

this has a very cozy scent. i recently bought an unopened bottle that dates back to 2012, and to me it has some fruity nuances in the first couple of minutes. my skin picks up apricot the most, and i do smell very small traces of the plum you'd smell from the original poison. the vanilla and almond are very present of course, and i'd say the floral notes play a part in producing that play doh scent as they mingle with the base notes. the most recent version goes straight into smelling like marzipan as far as i can remember from testing it. my decade old reformulated bottle smells less like play doh for sure. its performance is just as poor as the newer versions, on my skin at least. considering that i have a crapton of almond fragrances, maybe i'm just quickly becoming nose blind to it. it's a shame because this smells perfect to me. i just know i'll be shamelessly overspraying this

I love this scent. It carries the kind of warmth you crave in winter, like wandering through Christmas markets or drifting between art museums in Paris, catching the irresistible smell of freshly baked croissant aux amandes from a nearby bakery. It is soft, snuggly, and comforting, exactly the kind of perfume I am drawn to. That said, for the price point, the longevity is genuinely disappointing. On my skin, I have to reapply multiple times throughout the day. After about two hours, I can barely detect it. Either I have gone nose blind, or it simply fades into a very faint skin scent, and even then it is extremely subtle. I will still keep it in my collection because I truly love the scent itself. But the performance leaves a lot to be desired. It is especially frustrating knowing it has been reformulated. I would have loved to experience the original, more powerful version.

There are two kinds of women in this world: effortlessly beautiful princesses, and witches who had no choice but to become the ones offering the poisoned apple to those princesses. Although this perfume smells incredibly clean, it doesn't belong to the princesses. It belongs to the witches. I absolutely, absolutely loved this fragrance, and it's one I definitely want in my collection. I'm certain that simply holding the bottle in the palm of my hand will make me happy. What I enjoy most about this scent is its coconut accord, while the vanilla reveals itself hours later. Plum has become one of my favorite notes recently, and its presence in this fragrance makes it even more captivating. In short, this may be a perfume you've heard about many times before, but it still manages to feel unique. And truthfully, not every woman can wear it demands a certain presence.

Yes. YES. This is a perfume that lives up to the hype. Sexiest perfume of all time? It just might be. It's vanilla, freshly spicy, a bit woody, and oddly, I get some sort of menthol sensation when I smell it?? It's not minty, but, it gives me the olfactory reaction I would get to menthol, somehow. Very confusing and absolutely bewitching. I can't stop going back to smell it on my own arm. It's a very complex scent; even with the suggestion of notes, I'm having a hard time picking everything up. This scent is indeed a masterpiece. I bought a travel size for my first test because I had a feeling I would love it, and I do. I thought maybe I would like it more layered with heavier musk, but I was wrong. This perfume is perfect as it is. I want to wear this all the time, but also save it for special occasions. Ugh, I am in LOVE.

Sto sentendo la versione più recente, el 2025 e devo notare che è una versione niente male. Se non fosse per il dosaggio degli elementi (che sembra abbastanza diluito) direi che è molto vicina all'edizione del 98. Il suo esordio ha una bellissima mandorla amara cremosa e voluttuosa,nota amara molto evidente,cumino dei prati, l'elemento fruttato è leggero e impercettibile. Probabilmente le note più pesanti e dense che creavano la base (cocco,muschio di quercia,patchouli e vaniglia) sono decisamente leggere rispetto alla versione 98. La parte più interessante di questo profumo è la sua amarezza, il contrasto amaro intrigante che lo rende unico nel suo genere. E la gente continua a parlare di vaniglia banale. La vaniglia è solo un velo,un complemento che rende più appetibile il bouquet ma non è di certo il fulcro.

I love this so deeply!! If I could only keep one fragrance for the rest of my life this would be the one. The only reason this is not my official signature scent is that the version I own is a pre-reformulation bottle that I got at an estate sale. I’m too scared to use it regularly because I have heard the current version is not the same. I never want to be without this fragrance and I’m too frightened to try the new scent, tho eventually I will get a new bottle and face the changes. People complain that it smells like play dough and root beer like those are negative things, but those qualities are part of what I love the most about this scent. To me this is creamy, spicy, warm and a little quirky and somehow slightly minty! I hope I will still love the reformulated version as much.

When i was a child my mom had this perfume and i used to smell it all the time, when she finished this perfume there was only 1 spray left and she put it on and i remember we were going somewhere and i got the smell and it was soooo gooood i still remember the feeling 😭 when the bottle was finished i used to smell the cap and atomizer and just get pleasure from smelling such thing. So when i grew up i bought it again and to be honest it didnt smell like it did before and i was rarely using it, but then i started layering fragrances and i was about to layer this with black opium lp and when i first sprayed hypnotic poison i was shock cuz it slowly begun to get back its old scent, maybe i had to macerate a bit. Anyways its sooo good and its giving powerful, attractive woman. 10/10

This smells like the essence of when spring kisses summer. It smells like suntan lotion spilled on the tile of the cleanest pool from the Backrooms games. If you don't like spring or summer fragrances, skip it. If you don't like coconut, skip it. And if you don't like almonds, please skip. This is perfectly unisex, in my opinion. A man or woman living in Southern California or Florida could wear this just as easily as one could wear this in the middle of summer in Montana, Oklahoma, or anywhere else in the world at a pool party or BBQ. It's simultaneously fun, comforting nostalgia, yet sensual and flirty. The longevity is adequate. Not as strong as, say, Poison, but still impressive for a designer. 9.5/10

when i was very little this was my favorite perfume that my mom wore, and my mom was one of those cool beautiful moms who bought abercrombie and fitch's xs and MAC at the department stores in the 2000s so i always feel nostaglic about that and in general the perfume brings up lot of memories haha... anyways, it's probably my favorite vanilla and gourmand perfume. comfortable and moody, if velvet or velveteen had a smell it should smell like this. it's also strong! perfumes usually dont last on me (or i become scent blind) but this always creates a nice scent bubble that i can smell and people have complimented me when i wore this growing up

Remarkable, surprising and deserving of all the hype, albeit perhaps for different reasons. I bought a bottle at duty free out of curiosity and now wear it more often than anyone realises. I am a large man; my godfather once described me as ‘built on the same lines as an oak tree’. Amongst other reasons- it makes me feel fancy; you can’t always smell like a bonfire; the bottle’s very satisfying in the hand; it’s cheap enough to replace if I run out - I like this because Musc Ravageur is very expensive and there’s a menthol-y kinship on my skin, perhaps an illusion from the almond note. Very intelligent work.

I tried Hypnotic Poison once on a tester strip years ago, and it smelled just like Play-Doh. Well, after recently falling in love with Kenzo Amour, I decided to give HP a try on my skin this time around and was blown away! It's a delicious, sweet and nutty licorice-tinged vanilla to my nose. I definitely see the Kenzo Amour comparisons, although HP is more like her full-glam sister in a slinky black dress. Amour is clean and breezy, whereas HP is dark and sultry. Both still have a cozy element to them though. HP vaguely reminds me of Pacifica's Silver Moon and also layers great with SDJ 59 shower oil. :)

This scent demands that everyone notices you whether they want to or not and that is a very good thing. It is sensuality in a bottle. Sexy. Alluring and mysterious and dark. The plum and coconut carry this perfume. It performs very, very well and projects very well. A dab lasts a very long time. A spray will last hours upon hours. I will say this though...if you are curious how this performs on you spray the tester on you and wear it a bit then come back in a few hours because some say it has a "play-doh" quality because of the almond note. I do not find this to be true. Overall a 10-10 perfume.

this is my usual besides my (now gone) kayali YBM, and i have to say this stuff is GOOD i love the vanilla smell it gives, and it is such a unique scent i cant even describe, other than just really good. LIke the name suggests, it is quite hypnotic, i just cannot stop smelling it over and over. to further describe the smell, it is like a vanilla-medicinal smell (in a good way) that is really nostalgic and I do not know why (may be why its addicting to smell over again) It lasts and projects decently, but then i remember its an EDT, and for an EDT its good.

I hated this one when I first tired it years ago but recently tried Confetto and liked it a lot, so I was curious about HP again since everyone is saying it is similar and I have to say it is 90% similar. Confetto is better and stronger though. But I had to have this iconic bottle in my collection and was able to find a tester bottle for an amazing price. If you just care about the scent, I really recommend going for Confetto instead. For this to be a designer fragrance is a bit surprising. This is very much a niche smell. Play doh they say...lol

Forever my signature scent. I am 35, and have been wearing this perfume since I was around 14/15. I could not count the amount of bottles I've been through. It's the most perfect seductive gourmand. I don't get the playdough note others mention at all. This seems to just mesh with my skin chemistry so perfectly. Also, whenever I spray this my husband is ready to go. He seems to have strongly associated this fragrance with "intimate time." I spray this getting ready for date nights and it's hard for us to actually make the dinner plans...

wow . i really dont know how to describe it but this perfume is perfect for me . like , its my all time favorite ever and it just feels so so me!!! it reminds me of a quiet little vintage magical corner store , tucked away with dusty shelves full of enchanted antiques and curios , or maybe a fortune teller sitting in candlelight? to me its super homey and enchanting, it just makes me happy every single time i spray it !! it feels like im being wrapped in a velvet cloak !! its not for everyone but for me its everything (˶' ꒳ '˶)

Hypnotic poison is the most perfect fragrance ever made for a very cold winters day or night. It is very sexy and seductive and very very warming. You really get that almond note in here. To me it smells slightly medicinal, leathery but very very sweet and delicious and very mysterious and sexy. I would never wear this in summer or spring only on a very cold day. This is the type of scent I would wear in a climate like Alaska, Antartica or a Russian winter. Also the perfect scent for a date night or night on the town in winter.

On some people this smells like PVC pipes, on some others it smells like the best salacious flormand ever... You don't choose hypnotic poison, hypnotic poison chooses you. And im one of the lucky ones that got picked. So long losers ! On a real note thogh, this little oxblood bottle is filled with the best smelling designer perfume imho. Beautifully executed benzaldehydic almond, creamy vanilla and just a touch of a tropical twist with the coconut. Going on almost 30, there's a reason why it's still in production today.

Cozy, warm scent that feels like a gentle embrace. It reminds me of freshly ironed clothes: clean, comforting, and familiar. There’s something deeply soothing about it. It evokes a sense of peace, home, and emotional warmth. It’s the kind of fragrance that calms you, wraps around you softly, and makes you feel safe. I truly love the atmosphere it creates. However, I was expecting it to last longer. Unfortunately, the scent fades quite quickly, which was a bit disappointing given how beautiful it is.

I loveloveloveee this perfume. I got my hands on it while the bottle was already almost empty as it was a sort of hand me down from my grandmother, safe to say it didn't last long at all and I'm praying for the day i get more. It's comforting, sweet and yummy, but also sexy in its own way and doesn't poke at my nose at all like many fragrances do. I highly recommend this smell for anyone looking for a middle point in their scent that's between playful and sugary as well as deep and alluring.

I don't really get the femme fatale association with this one. To me, this isn't a "sexy" scent at all... it's cozy, comforting, and quietly beautiful. It's soft, vanillic, powdery, and incredibly easy to wear. I can only imagine how mesmerizing the scent trail would be on a cool, windy day. Rather than femme fatale, it gives me young working mom energy in the best possible way: polished, nurturing, effortlessly put together, and somehow always smelling amazing.

Monster Sillage leaves a trail of spicy vanilla coconut and other effusive intangibleness (to me). Always compliments husband always adores. Last year I ran out by September and was fortunate enough to find a nice EDP for Christmas. I missed it so much. Now I have 4 Poisons, the Original Tuberose purple, Midnight Patchouli, Poison Girl Citrus and Hypnotic. So great for eveningwear. LOVE and All time favorite. Discovered in duty-free in Fiji. <3

I can’t even describe how amazing this perfume is; It’s like a hug in a bottle- Very warm. for me, The almond and vanilla notes are the most prominent, and it’s simply the best . The sillage is great. As someone who loves the noticeable, ‘room filler’ perfumes , I honestly get so many compliments. It’s only sad that I can only use it in winter! 🥶 The longevity is also impressive; it lasts for weeks on clothes and 10+ on skin

Clássicos são clássicos por um motivo. Ele é um doce baunilhudo, suculento e sensual. É o período fértil engarrafado. Apesar da quantidade de contratipos, só um chega perto do cheiro real dele (não vou trazer o nome pois a dona da loja é uma babaca com os clientes, então só compro no sigilo fingindo que não sou eu pq sou hipócrita). Se você gosta de gourmand e perfumes doces, aposte sem medo! Pode dar blind, confia em mim!

its like cool & warmth colliding, distant but comforting. the vanilla is intoxicating, I swear I smell licorice. I don't like licorice but this licorice is nice, it must be from the fruit notes. its almost like almond cherrys older sister. I love the almond note and whatever the icey notes are, they lend uniqueness to this perfume. after a while they fade and youre left with a really sexy vanilla. it really is hypnotizing

Super warm, deeply alluring and long-lasting! Even on my skin where almost every perfume fails to stay longer than 5 hours. The dry down is even better than the opening in my opinion. It opens with the combination of almond some sandalwood and some fruity undernote. Then it transforms into deep plumy and coconutty vanilla when it dries down. One of the most long-lasting perfumes of all times - truly hypnotising!

I can smell coconut fading into a narcotic jasmine, the perfume is creamy throughout this progression, vague vanilla and sandalwood. I can smell the caraway and musk but they are barely noticeable and I can’t pick up on any of the fruit notes here which is sad because I love plums and apricots. Hypnotic is a fitting name. I feel like this could be an easy grab off the shelf for any time of day or season.

As a child I knew when my mum was going out because hypnotic poison filled the house with its almond, vanilla, flowery, gooey goodness. As an adult, I had to have it....and I love it. It's so nostalgic! However, it dosent seem to pack a punch like I remember. It used to have power and fill a space. It still smells good, just a bit watered down from what I remember in the 90s.

I just love this. It smells like root beer. Creamy, sweet, a bit spicy (the coriander possibly), effervescent. I wore it in the early 2000s. My bottle had a soft textured film on it. I noticed the new bottles no longer have that. I always liked the soft feel of the bottle, but it’s probably good they changed it as the alcohol from the spray made the bottle a bit sticky.

I love this fragrance so much. I find it mysterious yet inviting, warm and rich but not cloying. I have been wanting it for years and was thankful to get it as a Christmas gift; it is pricy. As much as I love it, I can sense that it is not a crowd-pleaser. I am going to reserve it for occasions when I really feel like luxuriating in myself, either at home or out.

I've always liked this a lot. I know it's a womans perfume but I just like how it smells. I smell like a vanilla cake and it's comforting. I started my perfume journey with more niche perfumes so it's quite nice to see how mainstream perfumes can also have a unique great smell and not smell the same or synthetic, I really enjoy it.

Very musky and comforting, definitely something I like to wear at night or during the colder months. It is at times a bit mature in the beginning, but after a little it drys down to a very soft, cozier scent. Definitely one of my favs if you like musky scents this is def for you! Also it lasts all day which is rare!

A favorite. Its amazing on my skin, especially after a light vanilla lotion or oil. Only downside is, I have friends with drier skin and less body hair, and for them, it becomes slightly more powdery and leafy. Not sure how that happens but I personally love it. Very high and middle nose scent. Always a solid 9/10.

Deep feminine sexy chic vanilla a scent you wouldn’t forget on someone. Winter night and knit tights would go sooooo perfect with this I loveeeee it, it really really reaaaally reminds me of Celine’s “Dans Paris” like it’s literally identical down to the play doh bit which it kinda smells like ngl

I love this fragrance, smells like an almond cookie almost. To me as a guy I would definitely wear this all the time throughout spring, winter, and fall. Only down side to this is that its pretty overpriced to me considering how old it is and it being just a edt concentration.

I LOVE this perfume. When i first bought this I remember being conflicted... the opening on my skin is play-doh smell, but the dry down is so beautiful and delicious, I became addicted to it! Always reach for this one for date nights and when I want to feel sexy.

I'm not good at writing reviews...but this one is special. There's nothing quite like it. You can't get bored of it. Got my first bottle in 1998, loved it. Bought it again a year ago, and I still love it. Definitely top 3 best perfumes of all time.
