Joy by Dior Intense

I was able to get a sample at Dillards and wear this for a few days. I like the original Joy, but not quite enough to buy a full bottle. I have to admit though, this Joy Intense flanker is SO much better. It is a stronger, sweeter, and creamier floral than the original, with more rose. I don't know if I'd necessarily call it an "intense" scent though. This opens up slightly citrusy and fresh, I guess from the bergamot and neroli, but soon the other florals - especially the rose - slip in and steal the show. The original Joy felt like a "pretty in pink" perfume to me, and the rose in this scent takes it one step further. It is a bright pink rose to me, not syrupy or jammy like a deep red rose, but there is still a kind of sweetness that comes from the vanilla and the lovely rich, slightly powdery tonka. I do notice the musk and sandalwood in the dry-down but I wouldn't call it an overly woody scent, the sandalwood just keeps it warm throughout. It seems relatively longer lasting than the original, but longevity is still an issue and I think most people will say it's rather weak for something named "intense." I think if you mixed together Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming with Lancôme La Vie Est Belle En Rose you'd get something that smells similar to this Joy Intense. They aren't dupes of this by any means, and neither one on its own is similar enough for me to include them in the "this perfume reminds me of" section above, but this smells like bits and pieces of those two perfumes mixed together. I will be buying a full size of this one when it's officially released. I wish it was actually intense in strength like the name implies, but it's pretty darn good!!! Also, I totally vote that the next Joy flanker is a l'eau version, because I find myself suddenly needing a Beethoven-inspired word-play perfume entitled "L'eau de Joy."

Absolutely love this !!!! But super light and airy. It’s so hard to review this one , been wearing it for days but did not know how to even describe it. The bottle is a definite improvement as it it has nice glass cut outs , more special as the first . Also it has a better sprayer , the continues one which I love. So you get those looong nice sprays rather than the short spouts of spray. BUT it is NOT intense. It’s rather AIRY , barely there, i actually can’t smell it very much at all. However when i do smell it and put my nose to it i love it !!! Like crazy love it. As much as i like the original I prefer this one as far as the actual smell goes. But I really wish it was much stronger. However I love the “ airy feel “ and this is part of the lightness. I keep wanting more when I smell it yet the cloudy soft feel pleases me at the same time. I know it’s contradictory,,that’s why I haven’t reviewed it so far , it’s very hard to write about. This smell in stronger would make me want to stop searching for the perfect perfume as this is soooooo good !! I see that quite a few people feel the same way about it’s airy and lightness , it’s a skin scent for sure. It still smells quite a bit like the original but less intense and less woody , less old school , less 80 s . ...More rose and balsamic vanilla feel. Its sweeter . It has that Nivea cream smell of balsamic fresh ,spicy powdery aroma . Yes it’s aromatic and has some citrus in the opening which feels fresh like Nivea cream. Has more sweetness than the original and love the added Tonka bean. Lots and lots of Tonka here. I absolute adore the smell , right now my number one !! But I will need to spray abundant amounts ! It’s dense but light. Very different ! So far no compliments that must be because it’s so airy and no one can smell it. I dig my nose in it and love it !!!

I placed an online order for make-up from a department store and it arrived yesterday with a few samples. I was not paying proper attention; I thought I'd received some samples of Joy by Dior. Despite the fact that I'd previously detected a headache note, I thought I'd give it another try. I was absolutely enchanted by the fragrance. It was so much warmer than I'd remembered, a modern, youthful rosy citrus that has a suggestion of a retro floral in the dry down. The only let-down was the longevity, though in its defense, it was a very hot and active day yesterday, so perhaps not the fairest or most accurate measure of longevity. Also, while it was gone from my skin, it was still very present on my clothes. Sillage and projection were really decent until it wore off the skin, but again, very detectable on fabric. I was so in love with the fragrance that I sprayed a little more on before bed. Anyway, my 180-degree turn on the fragrance drove me to Google Joy today to see if there were any deals running, and that's when Google autocomplete exposed my lack of attention: there was now a Joy EDP Intense. I quickly checked the sample bottle, and sure enough, the intoxicating fragrance is, in fact, Joy EDP Intense. I will definitely be buying this on its release. It is gorgeous. And I reiterate that I was not really a fan of the original. There's something that Joy Intense shares in common with Mon Guerlain Florale - - a certain (non-gourmand) sweetness and warmth. If you like one, you might just well like the other. 2021 Edit: I did invest in the 100mL, and have zero regrets. This is an absolute favourite; I wear it very frequently and the bottle isn’t even half gone. It’s well worth the money if you love this fragrance as much as I do.

I love this perfumer. Such an Intense Joy for colder days! It strongly reminded me of other beauty and yes, it is similar to Allure Sensuelle. I am now compairing the two on my wrists. Both have rather strong sillage. Dior is softer and dreamier. Chanel more floral and agile. As if, in a rush. Dior Joy Intense smells as if Hypnose and Joy had a baby. Both Dior and Chanel are predominantly rose. And vanilla. And musk. Dior is creamier. The start can overwhelm, Chanel too. Both speak to me of going out to party. I have a mini of the Dior and it smells so divine in today's colder weather and different enough from the Chanel that I bought a big bottle today. It will be a battle between the Dior, Flowerbomb Nectar, and my Coco by Chanel as to which one will accompany me out more often this and next year. Allure Sensuelle will make you the star of the night it has so much power during wear. Dior is more laid back after initial hour or two.

I had a lot of trouble finding a new signature and everyday perfume when my beloved Chloé Narcisse tragically stopped being produced. After many trials and tests, my choice finally fell on Joy Intence which works pretty much anywhere and anytime on me. In other words, the perfect signature perfume. I would actually call it a gourmand floral. It is not too sweet or intrusive like many other gourmands, but it is certainly not thin nor impersonal. It feels rich, flowery, sweet, creamy, and feminine enough. At the bottom I smell two scents that are not listed but which for me are crucial to the overall experience; A scent of sweet raspberries and a tiny piece of dark chocolate! <3 Together with sweet flowers, a deeper very seductive vanilla and light woody base I find It a perfect gourmand floral that appeals to me so much that today I have just bought my third large bottle after having emptied the first two!

Great all rounder n easy reach. No it's not wildly exciting, just a nice scent, makes you feel polished. Rose, neroli n vanilla are most prominent to me but it's mostly just a smooth blend. I do like the magnetic cap but I get the feeling that's what I'm paying slightly over the odds for here, because it's not the longevity, not for me anyway. I would say this is a safe blind buy, or to give as a gift. The smell-a-like section says this is like Guerlain's Souffle.. hmm, I can see that a little but Souffle is far more lemony, this just has a bergamot hint, & more rose. It's the dry down it gets a little similar more than the start. It's absolutely nothing like Coco, no idea why that one's in there. Addendum: Is just my perfume eating skin it doesn't last on, I put yesterdays clothes on today & they still smell of it very strongly! PS. The more I've used this the more I've liked it. Draws compliments.

This perfume is a real treasure. Smells expensive, elegant, bright and mature in a good way. I am not getting much of girly "joy" from this bottle; to me it smells more like visiting an elegant restaurant, important dinner, private high-end event, expensive show or having a business meeting with a lot of cash involved. I can not smell vanilla out of this bottle, but I feel a lot of musk, rose, tonka beans and neroli. Tonka beans add something "earthy" and raw to this smell and overall blend well with it. Bergamot and neroli remind us of freshness and readiness to keep going optimistically. Rose smells very elegant and classy here. The longevity and sillage feel like moderate, but I would not mind reapplying. There is nothing else to say but to mark this perfume as my "occasional important events" signature scent. I'm really glad I've discovered it!

After all those perfumes I have smelled the last few years, I'm still not good at picking notes, I just can't. But it doesn't stop me from loving a perfume, I only wonder how the fragrance experience must be for someone who can pick out the different accords etc. Now for joy intense; the first time I sprayed it on, it reminded me of 2 other perfumes. Shalimar and Chanel allure sensuelle and while I'm typing this, coco mademoiselle intense comes to mind too. It may sound completely strange to others, but those were my impressions. They're not the same ofcourse, but maybe they do share some notes/feelings. Good sillage and staying power. And for me it falls in the cuddly,cozy and warm scents category :). Different from the joy edp, that one seemed more fresh to me, also with some warmth in it, but not like the intense version.

I love this ❤️ I didn’t really like the original Joy it just wasn’t enough for me and I found it a little bland, quite a safe perfume for work. But this is really good and I didn’t expect to like it so much. Like the reviews below it does have something retro about it that I just can’t put my finger on, it smells like a perfume I’ve worn in the past that I miss. I hope someone comes on here soon and names it because it’s really bugging me. I do think the top notes go to the base notes quickly and I didn’t get much of the middle rose notes. The base is amazing and I have been stopped at the supermarket already by men to ask me to write down the name of this perfume, this was hours after putting it on. Try it even if you didn’t love the original 😘

The original Joy isn't anything special; its perfume that smells like perfume. Enter Joy Intense from stage right. The amped up vanilla puts Joy Intense in whole other ballpark compared to the original Joy. Joy Intense is a rich vanilla infused rose and jasmine bouquet. It's a beautiful vanilla-floral perfume that's apt for everyday wear. And it's one of the few perfumes that has bergamot listed in its notes but my nose can't detect it all, bless. 😂 It reminds me a little of Miss Dior 2021 but Miss Dior 2021 is more of a freshly watered roses with some vanilla scent than a vanilla-floral scent. Plus... Miss Dior 2021 is rather disappointing compared to other vanilla-floral perfumes Dior has available like Joy Intense or Poison Girl.

I love it so much. When I fist tested the original Dior Joy I thought it was incredibly basic and forgettable. I somehow ended up with a sample of Intense and kept testing it and found it so pretty and actually nothing smells like it! Maybe it's "basic", in the sense that it's a day to day, not too this, not too that perfume, but it's rather unique. A little bit fresh, a little bit sweet, not too serious, not too juvenile either, and there is something about it that just makes it special and addictive, a quirk, I can't put my finger on it. Smells like expensive body lotion. I would say that momentarily this is my favorite perfume, and I have the original Joy on my want list as well.

The original Joy smelled almost like a dupe for Allure EDT to me, and I prefer Allure EDT, so I returned Joy. I like Joy Intense, however, and I do agree with those who say it’s reminiscent of Allure Sensuelle EDT (I haven’t tried the EDP of that but have the both Allures in the EDT and find it similar to those). I think this is good for cold weather and for cozy days. I have received compliments on it, and I think it has very good sillage and is long lasting. I think if you enjoy Allure or Narcisso Rodriguez’ musky florals, you’ll enjoy this. I find this would be for 30+. All the notes are very well blended to my nose, so it creates this soft cloud of loveliness.

I was walking around at Ibiza's duty free section and found this beauty. I swear I wanted to check the original Joy's price but I saw this for first and tested it. It's more intense than the other one, reminds me a little bit of Miss Dior (2017 edition) and I absolutely loved it. The scent was long lasting since I was able to smell it after my flight, almost until went to bed. I will definitely give it a try next time buying it in Mueller. *UPDATE* I purchased this scent a week ago and I'm still in love with it: classy, elegant, chic ans sophisticated for me. I receive a lot of compliments from my colleagues and it's long lasting. Classic Dior.

I will forever love this thing, idc. And now its getting spring im bringing it in my rotation again! When this first launched I bought it in a local drugstore. I knew nothing about perfumes, this was my very first perfume ever and ohhh did I love it. I went trough 5 bottles! Its so crazy expensive for what it is, but i dont even care I will forever have this in my collection. This is such a joyfull, uplifting sweet scent beatifully grounded by a patchouli base that gives it Some sex appeal. Allthough this wouldnt be my pick for date night, this is the one i wear for ME because it brings me....? Joy :-)

Would you like La Nuit Tresor but with the praline n caramel removed? Here you go. That sounds like I'm being snarky but I actually really like this. I tried a lot of stuff today, including the original Dior Joy (bleurgh!! sorry that is my considered opinion, I can't articulate what was wrong with it, a sort of bin note?? :/ ) and YSL Libre Intense, but this won with husband n son so will probly get this first. This actually does smell quite happy, (not too sweet) it's warm, bright n sunny feeling, modern, elegant, no particular notes stand out except the rose which becomes jammier as it dries down.

I LOVE this new version of Joy. I am wearing it today, it develops into this soft, powdery, tonka and vanilla skin scent after a few hours. It is very warm and comforting, I am so glad that I purchased it. I felt that the original Joy was too similar to Chanel's Allure (which is still good), but this one is totally in a line of its own and I think that is due to the creamy tonka,vanilla and sandalwood. I have been wearing it for 5 hours now and I can still smell it on me, long lasting and dries down to a very warm, powdery tonka/vanilla combo.

Feminine, elegant yet cheerful, playful and sexy. Wow, I'm loving this new fragrance by Dior especially as it's a bit windy here in the UK in the Spring. So, there's no sunshine....but this gives me Floral vanilla and good vibes.... I just love it! Get your nose on it if you can and grab it if you can get it for a good price. There is a powdery note which I usually don't like but in the Joy Intense, it just smells good. I get about 6 hours on my skin and the silliage is about arms length. It was a blind buy for me but I have no regrets.

I really do enjoy this scent. Dep, dark, musky florals. A harsh juxtaposition of the stereotypical light take on most floral scents. It smells mature, womanly, and memorable. very long lasting and projects well. Would recommend for those looking for something deep, dark, and not gourmand heavy. The base of vanilla, tonka, and sandalwood act expertly as described: a base, simply there to elevate the deeper and richer florals that carry the scent forward first are foremost. Another excellent launch by Dior!!

I’m kind of surprised that no one has made a comparison of this to Mon Guerlain Intense. Not a dupe by any means, but if you took out the lavender of MG Intense, this could be a l’eau version of it. I get the same vibe. I did see someone mention that if you like MG Florale, you would like Joy Intense. I agree. I feel like Joy Intense is a Joy, MG Intense, Miss Dior mash up. I don’t think I’ve ever smelled Allure, but now I’m curious about that one.

All I can say it is incredible and sultry, to my nose a big improvement over previous Joy, it really stands for the Intense as its performance packs a punch. It is simple, yet complex enough, it is like a combination between Miss Dior EDT and J'adore L'absolu. Would not mind smelling it frequently on significant other, it is really appealing, delicate and feminine in the most positive way. Way better of a flanker than compared to a new Sauvage.

Jan 5 2019 tried on at Ulta. First sniff: "Wow that's good" and truly joyful in a sweet-sugar-citrus way. On the paper it stayed sweet floral fruity and fizzy. On me, it started getting a little licorice-y, then settled down to a sweet sugary vanilla-musky, touch of resinous scent. Hub says it "doesn't smell like anything" lol. Smell floating in store near endcap was LVEB-ish but less obnoxious. Hint of CM without the nausea. Really nice.

This beauty came around in my rotation this week and I'm finding myself loving this today. There's a heatwave here in the southwest and this juice has done well. It's a dry heat here and that can be a factor as I have many perfumes that smell different in different climates. Needless to say - this is a classic beauty. Probably not groundbreaking, serious, or super sexy, but simple put --- very very nice. Happy summer everyone.

Is this really discontinued?? It is still available fairly easily but no 30ml makes me suspicious.. This should've been pillar not flanker, the OG is horrid n insipid. As @KumaraScents said, I have so much niche that in theory would take precedence, yet I find I have almost finished this one, thanks to it's genuinely happy carefree elegance. Imo it is better than Cocomad in this regard, it's less prissy.

I LOVE THIS! Typical MUSKY-JASMINEY-VANILLA-WITH-HINTS-OF-ROSES scent. Clean, opulent everyday scent that is blissful and largely relaxing. There is something the dry down which I love most, it has a very aromatic woody-tonka bean accord. I think this would work best for everyday, just like Gabrielle by Chanel. Definitely, this is another best #BlackGirlMagic scent I ever saw and smell!

I think it's really pretty, although I do prefer the original to the intense. It gets a lot of negativity, but I think it's beautiful. The longevity could be better. On me, I don't get much jasmine, but I do get the rest of the notes listed, none really standing out over the others, all pretty much equal players. It's a safe go to for pretty much any occasion in my collection.

It starts sweet and definitely has that Dior vibe. But it dries down to a very clean, soapy scent. This is Not a gourmand. It's very fresh out of the shower, inoffensive, and chic. Definitely a spring and summer wear. Lasts only about 2 hours on my skin, but thankfully you can buy gently used bottles for less than 50 bucks. Fantastic, easy grab to keep on hand.

Joy intense two sprays back of hand, humid summer. Well, it’s a bit different than OG joy. That one starts Dewey and floral then dries heading towards talc (in a nice way). This one is different, it’s a cool gummy gum dew floral with a smooth eraser powder middle, cool floral sweet, semi thick, not heavy overall. I’ll check my notes and finish. I like it

Joy, but with a gourmand base. Vanilla-Rose-Musk-Jasmine-Tonka Beans-Sandalwood, as voted by users. Like Joy, it is polite and pleasant, more memorable though. Joy is a soapy floral, Joy Intense a gourmand floral. Wearable in summer, but the performance now is not perfect. Would be nice for an evening. Pretty enough to become someone's obsession.

J'adore Dior Joy Intense!! Dior did a beautiful job with this one. Superb blending and heady fragrance. A journey of neroli and jasmine wrapped in a blanket of vanilla and tonka bean. With these notes it's a total treat to wear in the Fall/Winter or on a night out. It's got staying power and nice projection. Well done!

This is a truly lovely, wearable scent. Signature worthy and good for any season. I have loads of niche perfumes that you'd expect would take center stage over any designer, but there is something about this scent that just calls to me more than most of my large collection. I'm sad it got discontinued so quickly.

I love Dior Joy Intense ❤️, its very different from original thankfully. Its more elegant and well blended. It reminds me of Coco Mademoiselle in the opening, it has the same patchouli and floral scent. The dry down a bit softer and calm. I am glad I found it, its a crowd pleaser and good office fragrance.

I don't get what has been happening for a few years with perfumes. The quantity prevails quality. This applies also for Joy Intense. Cloying vanilla - musk combo, after few hours smells like a dirty clothes or dirty head. Just not nice. I wish Dior brought back Midnight Poison with some modern twist.

This is stunning! Perfect for dressing up or you could play it down for everyday in my opinion because I can’t see anyone complaining about this! It’s a lot different than the original. Two completely different fragrances. This one has become a new favorite of mine!

When I wear it, I feel like I come from old money. This is the kind of scent a girl who goes to a private school on the Upper East Side would wear. Perfect for when you go to polo matches or spend the afternoon by the coast on your family's yacht.

Absolutely love this fragrance! Much better than the original joy Dior, always complimented on when I wear it! It lasts for a long time and has great silage! I think this is one of those perfumes that most people would enjoy!

They said u have to know where u wear your perfume.. so i guess this one suits for winter ❄️😊 im ordering this even there is covid 😆 dont care if pipz cant smell it when they are wearing mask! I dont care! Hahaha😂🤣

People talking about it being discounted but you can buy it everywhere here in Sweden. It's a good fragrence, I think the rating should be 4 or higher actually.

I love it from the first smile but I talk about this Intens not the original . This is more sweet deeper and stronger. .

D&G Light Blue Intense (citrusy top) and Dior Joy Intense (rosy top) have the same dense sweet creamy woody base and if you like one you will like the other. Layering it with other delicate florals you own will create their "intense" version. Great perfume to experiment with and to wear daily when you don't feel like anything else in particular. EDIT: I just wore it to the dentist as I couldn't imagine making the mistake to associate my uncomfortable experience there with any distinct fragrance note to come and haunt me later. I don't even think that people should wear perfume to the dentist. But I desperately needed something to accompany me and hold my hand there, so that I can comfortably sit in the waiting room and be the crybaby I am, without depending on anything but the perfect hug of my perfume. Yeah, I'm sensitive like that and I keep it to myself. So it had to be something smooth, encompassing, but minimal and unintrusive. Something that can't annoy anyone from being smelt up close, but good to cover up my stress. Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc was my other option, but it was somehow too uplifting for me at this moment, too spring-like (and it's winter here). So I went for JOY INTENSE, which was more soothing and relaxing and made me feel comforted in its cloud of thick cozy creamy woody floral sweetness, without making me focus on it at all or choke the person buried in my face. It was just like I was 10 and mom took me to the dentist and stayed in the background the entire time and I didn't think of her, but that's exactly what made her presence so important. I don't want to sound like I'm overselling it, or like it's something incredible and special. This story is meant merely as an example of how this perfume makes its way to be worn time and time again over way too many other options on my shelf — my point: it's safe, versatile (except for clubbing), of great quality and just what you need.

Walking through a field of oranges, grass and flowers! Pretty! Joy Intense caught my attention after smelling a sample, I was not surprised with the original Joy. To me it was simply to light although easy to smell. I always like perfumes that make a statement, that have some originality. Joy Intense has that, to me not a typical floral, but one that may surprise you. I love the powdery, the opening is very alike to the original but then it transforms into a more mature and indeed intense version. To me it reminds me of the dry down of Miss Dior EDP 2017 version, they could be sisters. The jasmine and the grasse rose are predominant in both, this one though is less citrusy and more aromatic and both are very powdery. I do understand a bit the comparison with Chanel's allure sensuelle but this one is less spicy. As this one gets closer to the skin by dry down it gets better... can't catch any patchouli though. No idea as why general opinion is that there is patchouli in it? to me the tonka and the vanilla take care of the longevity and that singular twist, bottom line it is charming and an every day perfume. Is it a joyful and happy fragrance? definitely, does it have the 80'9-90's vibe? yes it does. Is it for you? I would not blind buy for the price, I think the chemistry on your skin can make this one turn around, so it is best to try.

I think i’ve mentioned this so many times but eh gonna say it anyways :) Dior Joy has been on my wishlist for god knows how many years, but i’ve never bought it since it sends me headaches and it’s weird longevity. Plus it’s very pricey. Until today! I decided to get the “intense” version instead. To me it’s stronger, just a tad bit. But the fact that i could already smell it from the dior paperbag means that it is quite strong, no? I mean the box is sealed too! The opening smells like j’adore and joy’s love child. Although to my nose it resembles j’adore more than joy itself. The vanilla is dominant, unlike Joy.. where the citrus is dominant. That’s about it for the difference between those two. The longevity and sillage is 10% stronger, which isn’t too shocking. And also, even if it isn’t listed in the pyramid.. i find the patchouli to be strong as well. The patchouli imo smells like coco mademoiselle intense. IMO, the drydown of this one is really good. Smells like the most expensive rose powder, mixed with warm sultry vanilla and tonka bean. If that makes sense? This is like a mature version of Joy.. it’s denser in the notes not the longevity. I personally love it, i think it’s an easy grab for me.. surprisingly.

This will be a review only about Joy Intense, which I got as a sample with a purchase. I have only quickly sprayed the original Joy on paper and am not really interested to try it further, so I can‘t compare them. Neither have I ever sprayed Chanel Allure on my skin. But still, Joy Intense smells kind of familiar. In my opinion it‘s a very 2019 kind of fragrance. The opening is full of bracing citrus, which I find a little too sharp and lemony. Underneath that is a heart of a creamy jasmine and musk combination I have smelled a thousand times before and generally enjoy. There is also a syrupy sweet rose in this and I definitely get a hint of patchouli even though it‘s not listed. The drydown is quite nice and develops some depth when the creamy florals dance around the tonka beans and vanilla. It‘s a nice perfume and I was positively surprised how much it changes on my skin. A safe gift for someone who likes sweet pink florals and big designer names, but not a standout in any way. While it‘s long-lasting, I don‘t find the scent especially intense. It‘s very suitable for daytime wear in my opinion, as it‘s a fresh and elegant blend of the most mainstream, universally well-received notes.

Um... okay. So, I got a sample of this and I’m a little shook. I went to spray it, and when I did, this bright ORANGE liquid squirted out onto my hand! I was so shocked I wiped it away... is it SUPPOSED to be that color? All of the sudden, this super overpowering perfume smell enveloped.. a little reminiscent of the 2017 miss Dior, that unmistakable Demachy rose. I think had I not panic-wiped this off my hand, it would be a lot stronger. Now that it’s somewhat mellowed, this is a very powdery, vanillic rose smell... not exactly what I expected. It’s not bad at all but it smells like something my grandmother would wear, so I’ll be giving it to her. Wow, what a shock. It was literally traffic cone orange. Maybe I got an old sample. Smells lovely and classy, but not sure if its FBW for me personally. Edit: gave the sample to my grandmother, she ADORES it. Is thinking about buying a full bottle. Win for me, because if I ever want to wear it , I can just spray hers :) smells wonderful on her as well.

Recently sprayed on but I am past the initial opening. The heavy musk and jasmine, neroli, vanilla is definitely giving me Shalimar Souffle de Parfum vibes in the top. It has nearly the same level of sweetness but the patchouli and rose are also giving it some depth that SSdP does not have aside from the vanilla musk. For reference I really didn’t like the original Joy but I like this. It’s worth a try if you didn’t like Joy either. I do love Coco Mademoiselle also, I see that referenced as similar, but I don’t see that as being a sister to this, this definitely has more muskiness and the patchouli isn’t heavy, it’s there for support. At this point I can’t really smell it unless I put my arm up to my nose, it has been about an hour, so sillage is poor on my skin. Update: wore it around my mother and she mistook it for Shalimar Souffle. She hates that perfume due to the musk and said “why are you wearing that perfume around me again?”

This was a gift from a friend a few years ago, and at the time, I didn’t really enjoy it. I wouldn’t say I disliked it, but it was more something that I saw as run of the mill, ordinary... not offensive at all, but nothing really special to draw me in. But lately, my feelings towards it have been growing and I am really starting to appreciate it. To me, it’s a slightly sweet floral with some pronounced wordy notes thrown in. My affection towards it is definitely growing and I’m not sure if the bottle is slightly transforming due to age, in a positive way, or if my nose is changing/evolving. I still wouldn’t call it a love, but it’s a very strong like at this point. It has good longevity and projects moderately. To me, it’s a daytime scent but can be worn any season. Doesn’t really have a fancy vibe, this is more of a throw it on with jeans type of scent to me. Although it could work in the office too.

Mood: Chilly spring day! I received a sample, allowing me to truly sample it by wearing it for a day: Pink peppery rose with a hint of freshness that only shows up in the top notes. After a couple of hours, you're just left with a floral mixture of Dusty-Rose and then Jasmine that tends towards a powdery direction with a hint of Oriental Spice. It's not listed, but I'm pretty sure I'm smelling subtle notes of patchouli? Of course, no one next to me would get all that, they'd just smell powdery floral. Only if someone sniffed my wrist would they detect something more (ie; no sillage here) The ingredients look great, but unfortunately, they seem to be too blended; the fresh oriental accord is lost to the generic, possibly synthetic Rose. Love the idea, disappointed by the execution and poor performance. (TBF I don't seem to care much for Dior) I am now determined to find a fresh oriental perfume!

Has a very pretty, somewhat sweet citrusy opening which I really like. Then comes in a lovely floral scent which also is very pleasing to my senses and those around me. It dries down on me to light musky creamy vanilla scent with a hint of a spice/woody note. I read the reviews before I purchased this and when I tried it I decided not to compare it to other perfumes and judge it on its on merit. This is one perfume that as the days goes on it smells better and better. Which I feel is a warm, pretty, sensual, very feminine perfume that is working good in cooler weather and I wear it day and night. It has a pleasant projection, not over bearing which lasted most of the day. I have yet to own a Dior perfume that is long lasting. By evening I added a spray or 2 and was still happy with it. Use the body lotion and the perfume needs no touch up.
