Midnight Poison Extrait de Parfum

Heaven in a bottle. In olfactory terms this is the big daddy of the MP range and boy is it heady with patchouli - which I LOVE LOVE LOVE. I bought this from Fortum's only two weeks ago when I chanced upon it and just HAD to have it knowing it had been discontinued and of course I am already a fan of MP. It has been one of my best finds EVER. The sales assistant even commented on its discontinuation and couldn't understand why they still had a bottle - I needed no encouragement to snaffle it for myself I can assure you - I'm selfish like that. It's peppery, wildly sexy and utterly wanton. Quite simply one of those perfumes you wear with the intention of seducing someone.

At the stroke of midnight, a blue rose layed to rest on the cold earthy dank stone in a crypt of a long lost ghostly lover. Bewitching, hauntingly beautiful Midnight Poison. Timeless in its fragrance of rich resins of ancient rare woods mingling with the dankness of sweet dark roses, floral complexity intertwined with dry musk, ambergris. Truly a magical fragrance that will haunt you and enchant your lovers soul forever.

The best combo of rose-patchouli-vanilla. The opening was a bit minty, but sweet and the patchouli didn't take over the scent. All the notes here are very smooth and nothing sharp. I'm just glad the patchouli here has a sweetness to it and it's not as green as the patchouli used in Prada Intense Eau de Parfum.

Perfect.... It sticks into your body and stays. When you put it on is outrageous, powerfull.... When the time pass is sweet but at the same time so present. You feel your one parfum and that's great. Smells like love and turn you so sexy :)

well henri345que i just got the 1oz of it,but the price was not quite the same...cheaper than buying 4x7,5ml but not so cheap as 7,5ml!great extrait,stays long on me.if all poisons would smell like this...

I find it interesting that they chose a clear glass stopper for the extrait bottle, as the edp has a black cap. (Hypnotic Poison had a black cap/stopper in both the edt and the extrait). I'm so happy they went this route though, as I find it much more beautiful this way. I kind of wish all the "original" poison bottles had a clear cap/stopper, pure and hypnotic included. Espescially for splash/pure perfume bottles. So much more classy and beautiful IMO. Can you imagine a 100ml of Pure Poison in that slim and tall splash bottle the orignal Poison and Tendre Poison used to come in, with a clear glass stopper and gold letters?! OMG, that would be to die for! Anyway, as far as this Midnight Poison Extrait goes, the scent is 99% the same as the edp to me, just more intense/long lasting. You could tell it was more concentrated (obviously...) smelling the bottle almost produced a burning sensation in my nose and gave me a dry feeling in my throat. I just wiped down my empty bottle of this extrait and some of the scent transferred onto the rag. As I sniffed the rag it hit me that the combination of notes in this scent (mainly rose/patchouli/woody notes) ends up smelling very mentholated to me, pretty much like straight up eucalyptus + earthy pine needles. I think this is why I was never able to get completely on board with MP, as this mentholated eucalyptus scent reminds me of cold medicine and being sick unfortunately. It's a shame because the scent itself is pretty interesting and versatile, I just can't seem to get past those asscosciations unfortunately. It would literally make me feel "blue" whenever I wore it. It's also a very "cold" smelling fragrance to me, while Hypnotic Poison is the complete opposite. Both are perfect for dark and cold winter nights, though for different reasons. It gives you that same cooling/refreshing feeling that you get after brushing your teeth and using mouthwash, or chewing on a strong chewing gum/lozenge. I kinda miss it still, and when I think about it, I can still smell it very clearly. I think it's a pretty memorable fragrance. I wish I had at least a 30 or 50 ml bottle just for the memories and for old times sake. If I had it now, I would try layering it with Addict edp, I think that would be an interesting combo! Lastly, the bottle is just beautiful! Now, if only Dior could release Pure Poison Extrait... Well, one can dream, right? I just wonder why they haven't? Why all the other poisons but not Pure Poison?

There's a 5ml mini of this on ebay for a decent price but it's listed as espirit de parfum. It's got a thing to put round your neck to hang it on. I can't see a page for that though, I can for the og Poison but there's only the edp, elixir and this for Midnight, so I'm assuming it's this one but in a mini bottle? There's only 4ml of it left, apparently anyway, it could be 2ml,so it's actually a shocking price when you multiply it by 100 but I'm willing to pay just to experience it a couple of times 😂 I've got major regret from buying a few newer niche perfumes for silly prices now, biggest one being Baccarat which I'm fully over already. I should have spent the money on a 100ml bottle of Midnight Poison, in any form. My dupe is actually decent to be fair but I'm really craving this now.

This is lush. I bought the 7.5 ml splash, and it's rich and gorgeous. Redolent of patchouli, rose, and other dark, beautiful things. There is almost a chocolate-like undercurrent. I'm glad I got my hands on this, as I still don't have the EDP. Idk why MP suddenly became so very difficult to find (most other D/C Poisons are relatively easy to locate); everything on eBay right now looks fake to me, so I'll bide my time with this beauty while I wait to snag the EDP. I may transfer a bit to a spray atomizer--very curious to see how it performs as a mist as opposed to a dab. If you can find an MP, I recommend snatching it up. Definitely worth the outrageous price I paid for it, and I intend to only use it special occasions to attempt to make it last!

Midnight Fantasy and it’s flankers are a slice of heaven. Why they would discontinue these beauties is beyond me. It genuinely makes me sad. I dislike giving perfumers so much power over my emotions like this. They can pull the plug on a favorite at anytime, and you’re stuck with never smelling it again, or paying over $500 on eBay if you’re lucky to find it again at all...

when they say " a small peace of heaven" i think this perfume symbolizes it so well the sense you got each time an Indigo-colored midnight sky is blowing a gentle breeze and beautiful full moon above is shining brightly yet mysterious. Lovely, recommended for someone who has "elegant sophisticated" personality

I have a 2007 bottle of this in a 1 oz spray tester. Way too much rose and patchouli for me. It has the silver wording on the bottle and neck ring. Please pm me if you have a bottle of hypnotic poison diable rouge to swap for this.
