Miss Dior Cherie

A loss from which I may never recover!!! Perhaps I am biased to this fragrance due to the time in my life that I wore her and her alone and went through countless bottles never betraying her!! I didn’t have a large collection back then. I could not afford multiple fragrances and would ask for this for bday and Xmas. I was in my early 20s and life was very exciting and this beauty was a part of it! Would I feel the same love if I smelled this gem for the first time now without its ability to evoke the feeling and memories of my younger years? I don’t know. But I know I’d still enjoy it. Much like who I was when I wore her, the scent is young and carefree. She is playful and a bit flirty! Incredibly feminine and sweet, greeting you with bright sharp strawberries swirling with tarte cherry and sweet pineapple. Behind those notes the Carmel popcorn adds a warm slightly savory component that grounds the sour fruits. Patchouli and a faint touch of soft florals anchor it all down creating the loveliest girly, sweet and sour concoction!! I have found fragrances that are similar but they lack that special something that This version of Miss Dior Cherie offered. The next couple versions Dior replaced her with honored the vibe of her after that they went off track completely and while Ive enjoyed other versions they lost the spirit of the MDC completely. The 2024 Parfum seemed to want to go that direction and while I like it, it isn’t nearly as good and lacks that special kick Miss Dior Cherie offered. I hope someday they bring it back, even for a limited time. Update: I have kept a tiny mini bottle of the Original Miss Dior Cherie on hand to smell when I need a dose of nostalgia but I don’t wear it as its just to keep as a collectors piece. But recently I got a decent deal on a half full size bottle of Miss Dior Cherie with the original label printed directly on the bottle. For being nearly 20 years old it still smells really nice and just as I remember. I’m so glad to have a bottle to wear tho I will likely ration it! One of the things I love so much about this fragrance is just how perfectly the notes hit, sure there are similar fragrances especially from the era Miss Dior Cherie came out but to me this is my Goldilocks version of Chypres! It’s just right! Sweet but not syrupy, bright but anchored, youthful but not juvenile, playful but chic, nothing is overwhelming me or too heavy but it is still potent and noticeable. I truly have never found a fragrance in this category that hits so perfectly for my taste and I have looked for years! Also I see some reviews on this page of dupes that are reviewed as if they tried the actual authentic Miss Dior Cherie. I have tried most of the dupes, including the ones mentioned and they are similar but don’t have the Goldilocks effect of the actual OG to me.

Ahh! This is heaven. I meant to write this review many times, but then forgot. So here it goes today... Miss Dior Cherie 2005 is simply one of the best fragrances ever made. I am the happy owner (lucky, lucky me!) of a full 100ml of this marvelous, enticing, divine concoction and as someone pointed out previously, it opens with a wild, wet strawberry - the pineapple gives it that wet vibe, I believe, toning slightly the tarty babe here - AND popcorn. YUP! It is really a popcorn note there at the back. The initial fuzz goes on about half an hour, and relaxes only to give space to a subtle, sleek but deep musk with a hint of caramel and mandarin orange. This is very distinct a note from the more common orange, it has depth and it is soapier, maintaining the character of her distant cousin (the orange). Patchouli is there, but overall not at all as prominently as the duo opening the dance. And what a waltz!!! Not sure what anyone who voted the cherry as third prominent note smelled here: it is way at the back, if you can perceive it at all. Almost mute, hiding in the background, like the fussy violet they used to create this masterpiece. They are both there to back the other notes; they are an incredibly well balanced whisper. And I say this because cherry has a slightly sour soul, which here is not showing one bit. To me, the protagonists are wild strawberry, pineapple and popcorn, backed in order by mandarin orange/musk combo, a tad of amber and jasmine/patchouli just a drop. Miss Dior Cherie 2005 is a must for lovers of fruity musk, because that mandarin orange works wonders with it and the opening trio is just incredible with its backing. Perfect for mid-spring through early fall, day mainly but if you can afford to spray with abandon then evening too (and it would definitely give you an entrance anywhere!). NO age restriction here: from teen to more mature any woman can wear this fragrance and feel joyous, fresh, classy and mostly, pleased to be a woman. This fragrance is the epitome of joie de vivre. 11 out 10, because they do not make them like this anymore! But then, Dior is Dior and if there's any house that knows how to work a floral into a class number, it is this one in my humble opinion. Like no other ever did, or can (I may be biased, because Diorissimo and Pure Poison are my other two great loves). PS: I sprayed it on today at 1pm and right now it is still there - 8 hours and though not in your face my husband could smell it, and so do I. Top sillage and longevity. For information - the popcorn note was removed in subsequent reformulations of this fragrance. That is why the 2005 formula, aka the original one, is the most sought after.

Flowers, sweet strawberries and juicy sour cherries generously drizzled with warm salted caramel, garnished with dark green oakmoss and served on a plate made of patchouli. Yes, the 2005 formula definitely had oakmoss in the base, and there are a few other floral notes not listed, I think lily of the valley was one of them. My God, this was SO good, addictive smell, it was delicious but not in a gourmand way, rather it alludes to something luxuriously indulgent and gourmand. The best fruitcholli ever created, period. It was truly unique and distinctive. It’s: gooey sweet, buttery, salty, juicy, tangy, dense, warm, fresh, fruity, floral, green/mossy, woody, musky all at once, all seamlessly blended into a rich, elegant potion...just amazing! It used to be my fall/winter signature. There’s really NOTHING like it in today’s market. This was a polarizing scent back then because of the so-called ‘popcorn’ note that added a nuance of saltiness (honestly, just smelled like salted caramel to me), it was just too ‘quirky’ for some, especially contrasted with the rather mature mossy/woody chypre base (many of the girls my age and older thought it smelled too mature, while the more mature ladies thought it was too fruity-sweet and girlish). It was not polarizing to the level of Angel, but people did seem to either love or hate it. It did tend to develop a ‘BO’ odor if I attempted to wear it in warm weather, but in cool weather I wore it unapologetically, and I would get stopped, complete strangers wanting to know what my perfume was, and people I knew then associated this whimsical, beautiful, happy scent with me. I loved the 2010 EDT as well, it smelled similar, but lighter, less sweet and more versatile, more suitable for all year round use. It’s too bad this baby (and the EDT variant) is gone. I still remember the scent vividly, as if it’s under my nostrils...it’s that iconic and memorable. PS. The reviewers below talking about it being a light scent, and then someone else mentioned an aquatic note...whhaaaa??...your bottles must be fakes, becareful with eBay purchases, this is why I just don’t bother hunting down for a bottle, too many fakes circulating around...the Miss Dior Cherie I knew scented the whole interior of the cupboard I stored it in just by sitting there. Sillage so huge my mom could smell me as soon as I entered the house. The juice was really dense and rich, similar in thickness and potency to Coco Mademoiselle Intense. I purchased CMI because the richness of the drydown reminded me of MDC (no, they do not smell similar, but both are ‘luxurious’ fruitchoulis).

Miss Dior Cherie edp. This one I purchased a few years ago off eBay. Batchcode from April 2007. Spraying this on my arm now, Oh my goooood! I'm actually getting emotional. But mostly happy! Because it smells so good. It just puts a smile on my face. Almost in tears. It reminds me of working at the Chanel counter in David Jones, Sydney. And Dior was our rival, but I could not resist Miss Dior Cherie when it first launched in 2005. I also loved many Chanel fragrances, which we received plenty of, and are also favourites. (and we had to wear Chanel while while at the counter of course) But this perfume.... was something completely groundbreaking and new. It wasnt like everone lovedbit back then, but no one was indifferent about it. They loved it or hated it. Some said it was too immature and sweet. But my goooooodness, I just loved it! It became my signature scent, and it was until it was first reformulated and turned too patchouli on me. As I'm smelling it in 2023, almost 20 years later, it's still perfection. Its not sweet at all, compared to the norm of today's popular scents. And thereby also the new Miss Dior 2021. Now that it sweet. Miss Dior Cherie however was just perfectly fruity. Christine Nagel composed a classic with this. The fruits and accords are true and authentic and not synthetic or a blend of generic "fruits". And the balance of pineapple, strawberry and cherry it hints of gourmand, and the chypre notes are just divine. Elegant! Sophisticated! No vanilla "bomb", no flower "bomb", no fruit "bomb" no "patchuli-bomb". Its hard to explain because its nothing like today's fragrances. If it came out today I don't think it would be as popular. It's just not sweet or gourmand or floral enough to please the crowd. I used to have the shower gel, the deodorant (still have one) and body moisturiser, and they all smelled exactly like the edp. What a bliss and blessing it was to be shower-fresh and perfumed with the full circle of Miss Dior Cherie. If you wonder if it smells like the new Miss Dior 2021, it does not. Neither does it resemble the previous versions from Francois Demachy. The Miss Dior Cherie edp 2005 is fruity, salty, sweet and chypre in a fresh and dewy way that is just not done today. A sparkling gem. Nothing compares. Now what to do? Use it, or let it sit in the bathroom cupboard because its too precious to actually use?

Ahhhh, patience has finally paid off! After years of daily emails from that blasted new listings subscription, I scored a full unused bottle (with box!! albeit a little battered) at a local online auction for like, USD70 converted. A week of fretting it might be fake later, this lady now owns a genuine bottle of this stupid(ly good) fragrance she wasted so much time scouring the net over. If you can't tell, I am simultaneously over the moon and appalled at myself. As for the fragrance, it smells amazing. At first, it's a fruit salad bowl drizzled in caramel and it smells like sunshine and happiness but HEAVY, not the light springtime one you'd get from, say, Blooming Bouquet. It would smell overbearing on me, to be honest, if it weren't for the patchouli. My skin reacts weirdly to patchouli - if there's any hint of it in a perfume, you can bet your last dollar my skin's gonna project that shite like skunk spray. Fortunately, I quite like patchouli (not so fortunate for the fam, who all HATE it with an undying fervour haha). So the earthiness of patchouli perfectly balances it. It's still ridiculously sweet but it works. The popcorn probably helps, but my uncultured nose can't detect it at all. There are faint hints of something buttery from time to time (or perhaps it's placebo), but that's about it. I did spray it on someone else and was subsequently quite revolted at the odd savoury note her skin brought out. Sillage and longevity depended on where it was sprayed. On my wrists and inner elbows, top notes were quicker to fade, drydown was pretty much just a sweetened patchouli, and it became a skin scent in a few hours. On neck and chest, it lasted much longer (5+ hours) and drydown was more of a blend of every note (but the caramel was definitely stronger). Also tried two sprays on tissue. I left it on my desk and every time I entered the room, I'd get a blast of it. Sitting at the desk, I'd get whiffs of it throughout the day (sweet heaven...). Anyways, it's a safe blind buy in that if you somehow don't like it, there's always someone you can pass it on to.

Reviewing this scent makes me feel a little guilty knowing that it's nearly impossible to find but it's so worth it and not leaving my feelings about this scent when I've written more for perfumes I don't even own also seems unfair so here goes: I own a 30ml bottle of this and I'd sell a kidney before having to get rid of this one. It's the perfect fruitchouli that all the designers took a stab at in the '00-'10s. They never got better than this one, and I don't know what was in the pipes they were smoking down at the Dior lab but shame on them for completely changing the formula to this more times than I can count. It starts as a smooth strawberry patchouli blend, the strawberries are ripe and juicy, the patchouli is green and clean smelling. There's no chocolate or earthiness to this one, it's the sterile kind kept in a glass specimen jar in a lab that I happen to prefer. In the background there is this airy sensation that you may not pick out if you didn't have the influence of the notes to guide you, but luckily we do. It's the smell of walking past a buttered popcorn machine in the mall. You get the whiff of something delicious but it's in the background of all the other smells, it's not in the forefront. It teases your nostrils and makes you toy with the idea of purchasing a bag of popcorn but you decide against it as you walk into the doors of a recently stocked Victoria's Secret and make a bee line for the body mists. You pick out Strawberries & Champagne and a zebra striped push up bra and get your 3 gifts with purchase. You leave and decide you do want that popcorn after all. You're walking towards the metal box of airy yellow buttery corn puffs with your shopping bags in hand, life is good. It's the opening scene of Legally Blonde in perfume form: Elle Wood's hair would've smelled like this 100%. I can't be without her, I'll mourn the day when and if I ever have to.

Now that I’ve successfully acquired my 3 bottles I can comfortably make this review without fear of a reader becoming so curious and persuaded that they went and bought all the bottles I had my eye on from eBay LMAO. Call it what you want but this discontinued-perfume-hunt-game is real lmao. Bc once it’s gone, it’s GONE! Now all that remains on eBay are $200 listings and I’ll be damned! Lol. Anywho, lol, this is my number 1, my holy grail, 90 years old in the nursing home and all I want is this, my FAVORITE PERFUME OF LIFE! Where do I start with this? It’s such a perfect scent for me. It’s strong, but pleasantly strong. I mostly smell strawberry and pineapple at the top, and then popcornnnn, and caramellllll! It’s so intoxicating! I can’t stop sniffing and smelling it. The sillage and longevity are really good. My 22 year old niece kept smelling me and wouldn’t stop lol. She detected the popcorn but couldn’t name it. Then finally she came running back to me yelling, “I SMELL THE POPCORN!” Lol. This scent is also very elegant. I just...can’t put into words how marvelous and magical this perfume is! MDC (2005) is the bees knees. I pray I never run out! BUT if I do, luckily I have a bottle of Elode Bliss which smells ALMOST identical but MDC is more of a smoother smell and not as tart. This perfume is: 1,000,000/1,000,000 (Yes that’s one million out of one million lmao) BOMB AMAZING INTOXICATING ADDICTING AROUSING and a damn aphrodisiac for me. I’ll stop now before I write an essay. But this is amazing. I’m not gonna lie...o actually WOULD pay $200 for this. It’s worth it. Oh, P. S. I don’t get any references to this. Not the COCO Mademoiselle, not anything. This thing here stands ALONE, in a lane all by herself. The Alpha Omega. The Queen Supreme. Any comparisons at this point are just merely, cute.

I went through at least 12 bottles of this between 2006 and 2011. I am just as salty now as I was then about it being taken away from us. I recently paid way too much for a vintage bottle, just to have it. I've smelled hundreds of perfumes since its departure, found some favorites, some I actually really love. But I don't love any perfume as much as Miss Dior Cherie 2005. I've been chasing the ghost of MDC for over decade now. I try all the "dupes." Some of them are close. Some of them are not. The closest one I've found is Realistic 0309 by Perfume Parlour, which is 96% the same IMO, even smelling them side by side now. I have not yet tried the Eden perfumes one I've seen mentioned here but will be ordering it later today. Miss Dior Cherie '05 smells like strawberry champagne to me. It does have a youthful quality about it, but it is sophisticated enough for someone more mature (perhaps with a youthful heart). I mean, here I am in my 40s, still loving it enough years later to write this eulogy for it on Fragrantica, and willing to pay an exorbitant amount of money just to own a vintage bottle that I'm barely able to bring myself to use. The 2012 version of it, the one where they first dropped "Cherie" from the label — does not smell anything like its predecessor, despite what some others say. The 2012 version really dialed back the strawberry, extinguished any trace of the champagne quality it once had, and amped up the patchouli to Coco Mademoiselle levels. In fact, if anything, it smelled more like an empty shell of Mademoiselle than anything Dior Cherie. Don't even get me started on the 2017 edition. Listen, Francis Demachy makes a lot of fragrances I enjoy. Some of them are even favorites. But I don't think I can ever forgive him for butchering Nagel's perfection. It was so unnecessary.

I really like this scent, I did not really care a lot at first!! was expecting a true strawberry caramel popcorn scents... but at first sniff it is not what I was expecting. I can not smell any caramel and the popcorn notes, all I can smell was a strawberry patchouli scent(I was spraying from a little decant bottle). I got a 100ml full bottle by chance, I sprayed it once again OMGGGG why it smells so different from the little decant bottle, it is truly magic upon the first spray, I can detect Strawberry Pineapple the most at first, the cherry accord is more like a supporting character to the fruity accord. after the fruity burst I can FINALLY detect the popcorn notes, for me the popcorn is buttery savory not sweet at all (not caramel popcorn) it balanced the sweet fruity accord giving twisting the perfume into a little bit more mature feeling, instead of a no-brainer fruitchouli scents, this is quite a interesting twist, fragrances now a days usually will turn super sweet and floral in designer range, but this a really good balance between the sweet fruity accord and the buttery popcorn accord! On the base the patchouli strengthen complexity and the longevity for this fragrance, I really like this really really, it is between a playful cheerful and a mature person, who started to know what he/she wants in their mid 20's. sophistication and flirty at the same time, this is how I would describe this legendary Miss Dior Cherie (2005), have been stocking up this version lately hunted down 2 100ml bottles from Japan in a really reasonable price, the price on eBay is crazy. Simply became my everyday daytime fragrance. My new signature scent. I know it is impossible that Dior would re-release this again lol but I hope Dior would really bring it back someday... please Dior

One of my favourite scents — Miss Dior Cherie, 2005 version. Top Notes: Green Mandarin Middle Notes: Caramel Popcorn and Wild Strawberry Sorbet Base Notes: Fresh Patchoulli and Crystalline Musks This is a well crafted masterpiece. Everything about this is perfect. From the girly, classy and gorgeous bottle with the well crafted silver bow to the delicate shiny cursive etching. She is beautiful and charming and mischievous, as it opens with a whimsical daydream of strawberries and cherries, the juicy aroma of citrus and pineapples, radiating sweetness and a bubbly character. As if the taste of sweetness isn’t enough, you immediately get to the best part, the rich gourmand blend of buttery caramel popcorn delight. Oh so divine, this is where you’ll crave for this mouthwatering goodness. Splendidly breathtaking. Absolutely lovely. As it continues to linger your neurons are firing impulses to your limbic system triggering emotions and memories reaching to an olfactory overdrive. At this point you’ve already reached your orgasm with your eyes rolling upward in true orgasmic bliss. The patchoulli and musk is the perfect note to catch your breath on the dry down, bringing you back to Earth from the Heavens as you emit that after bliss glow. It’s addictive and you’ll surely crave for more. It has the perfect blend of being fun, girly and innocent yet flirty and sexy. But still being overall sophisticated and classy as each notes are complex with the added depth. Beautifully blended as it lingers on. Magic and love in a bottle.

I now have my 2005 bottle of Miss Dior Cherie and am wearing it today. I am torn. It does smell as described...but there's something missing. I think I actually like my mixture of Coco with Poison Girl better. MDC smells like buttery popcorn, but my Coco/PG alchemy smells like caramel popcorn. Much better. There's also that dang Coco Mademoiselle thing to contend with. I used to LOVE to smell CM on others, but by the time I dropped coin on a bottle I couldn't stand it on myself. This MDC 2005 reminds me of CM, which shouldn't be a bad thing since I did love it once, but there was just something in CM that was added that was too, too much. Another frag that smells super similar to both of these is Camelia by L'Erbolario. I actually smelled it on someone else and begged her to tell me what it was and I ordered a bottle straight away. But there went that Coco Mademoiselle smell again once I put it on. Seriously, what is wrong with me? Why do I love/hate so much??? I think I am going to add Poison Girl on top of the MDC to see if it turns more caramel on me. Maybe that will solve it??? To be continued... EDIT: I have two bottles of this now, one EDP from 2005 (batch code 5801) and another from April 2009 (batch code 9R02). At first when I got the second one I thought I might be getting a 2011 version based on the packaging, but it smells exactly like the 2005. So be aware that the bottle/label/box of MDC changed to the more modern version before the juice inside did!

Words cannot begin to describe how much I love this fragrance. In theory, I shouldn't love it because I don't normally gravitate towards fruity, sweet, or gourmand scents. This has all of the above and yet it's in my top 3 fragrances for life. This is the exact scent expression of my youthful, feminine, bubbly, and carefree side. The very first time when I sprayed this, I was immediately hit by a full blast of strawberries. It was incredibly sweet and I was so ready to discount it. However, the sweetness started to meld with the rest of the notes, counter balanced by the earthiness of the patchouli and it became a love with time. The patchouli is key here to balancing what could've been a sickly sweet, juvenile scent. It comes more to the forefront as it dries down without that dirty quality that some patch scents have. And this lasts. I can still smell it on my skin the following day. I fall more in love with Miss Dior Cherie each time I wear this. There are days when I absolutely crave it and NEED to have this all over me. There are not enough words to describe the amount of joy this (and the entire MDC line) brings me. I have collected every formulation of MDC EDP and 2005 and 2011 are my favorite, though nothing can beat this 2005 original version. Edit: Willing to swap my 1.7oz backup for any of the unicorns on my "Want" shelf. CONUS.

My relationship with Miss Dior Cherie has been so bizarre. But I guess it's only telling there is no other like it! This was a successful blind buy though I was disappointed at first; back then it smelled like Miss Dior (2012) to me, got disappointed and set it aside. Later I gave it another try- and fell in love. I got the impression of gourmand but chic perfume many have already described so aptly here. However at some point, after wearing it a lot, I started to detect a strange nuance in between all the beauty. Beer! It was really off-putting and disgusting; I started to think it has gone bad (due to age) and stopped wearing it again. I was utterly disappointed with it. I tried to sell it and swap it several times, but it sat stubbornly on my shelve- like saying I'm here to stay, I'm not going anywhere. I don't know what the strange beer smell was but as time went on, I gave it another chance ( I stopped counting how many chances I gave to it..) and it was this autumn. The beauty was back in it's glory; maybe it was due to temperature, season, I don't know. After these years I appreciate Miss Dior Cherie for being very unique, lovely and versatile scent; it's youthful but it has the classy, grown-up side and this altogether makes it ageless. I love the mix of gourmand and classic lady-like perfume notes!

This version of Miss Dior Cherie must be one of the most grieved discontinuations here on Fragrantica, and now that I've finally tested it for myself, I have to say I believe the hype! Luckily, I personally don't love it quite so much that I can't live without it and have to start hunting for a bottle, but I can easily understand why someone would; it's a very good candidate for a signature. For one thing, it's pretty light and inoffensive, the kind of perfume that will fit any mood and time of year without ever becoming either overwhelming or boring. For another, it really smells gorgeous. The strawberry note that dominates the opening is to die for, and that's a hard one to get right. Later on it's joined by the popcorn and caramel, and that combination is delicious as well. And although it doesn't sound especially sophisticated, there's nothing juvenile about it either. It's just really well done, very balanced. Lasts all day, too, although I do need four or five sprays instead of my usual two or three for this to fully come into its own. So like many others before me, I have to wonder why this was ever discontinued. If it wasn't, I'm sure there'd be a full bottle of it somewhere in my future. As it is, I'll treasure what's left of my decant before saying goodbye to this little gem of a scent.

Used to love this when it first came out, but never fully appreciated what a wonderful and complex fragrance it was. Years have gone by and I continue to crave that glorious strawberry caramel popcorn opening. Stumbled across a YouTube video recommending DUA Miss Class. It appears this is a newer release so there isn’t much info about yet. Since I had a positive experience with Dua’s sour peach, their dupe for Tom Ford bitter peach, I decided to give Dua’s MDC dupe a chance. And, I’m so glad I did!! That first spritz sent me right down memory lane. It’s exactly as I remember MDC. Bright, lush strawberries, caramel popcorn, a little bit of patchouli to balance out the sweetness. I will say, Dua is a touch less sweet than I remember MDC being. But, it’s the closest I’ve gotten. It remains a bit linear, keeping the opening and middle notes throughout wear. Although, that’s not necessarily a bad thing since those opening and middle notes are what made MDC such a star. Overall, I would highly recommend Dua Miss Class for anyone searching for a mdc dupe. I may give the eden perfumes version a try just to compare, but for now I’m extremely happy to have this lovely scent back in my life. Longevity and sillage are excellent.

This is my HG perfume. I cannot explain why. Well maybe I can. I guess all of these things have to do with our olfactive memories and this scent hit me right in the feels and stayed there. It corresponds with the newness, freshness, young, excited, positive and delightfullness me. At the middle of my twenties I didn't wear it. No sir and mam, not me. A friend of mine. Who I worked with. However this scent became the epitome of what was in amazement seen through almost silly and naive eyes at the amazing future that could be ahead me, all of us. The warm sunny nights (even though it rained like 99% of the time, it was Ireland after all) So this scent aquarelle I plop out on days when I want or need to feel special, when it's sunny and when I feel 25, 26 and not a care in the world again. It's so beautiful with its peppery, fruity-sweet patchouli bitterness perfection. Coco mademoiselle done better and for trying to impersonate, perhaps beheaded. I lament with those who have not been able to experience this popcorny fairy champagne strawberry. Because this? This is what heaven will smell like for me.

Cherie 2005 is a very chic Parisian fragrance. It is a youthful, delicious, delicate and uplifting. This is vintage, and with it comes a different kind of quality in perfumes that true perfume enthusiasts are longing for. I was intrigued by the popcorn notes and was worried it would smell somewhat like the modern gourmand fragrances such as Sol de Janeiro Ceriosa 71 (caramel and macadamia) which I could not tolerate on myself. It is a relief to know that Cherie has no distinct (smack in the face) caramel note of this kind. What I smell is fruits like strawberry, cherry, mandarins with underlying sweetness. It might be popcorn notes emerging through the fruit notes but the entire composition is so well balanced that this definitely smells like a beautiful young woman wearing French perfume in a cinema, where you can feel a delicate popcorn aroma wafting in a distance. It is not over powerful and does not trigger headaches. Patchouli is elegantly blended with all other notes. I can see a similarity between Cherie and Chanel Mademoiselle, but Cherie is much more delicious, playful and youthful.

I have only really been pissed off about two perfumes being discontinued - and both of them are Dior! 🙃 This was perfect. This was my signature scent. This was my holy grail. It was just perfect for me. Then it was discontinued because the new head of fragrance at Dior decided they weren’t going to make it anymore because they thought it smelled “cheap” even though it was insanely popular. GOOD NEWS GALS. I can 100% confirm that Perfume Parlour’s “Realistic 0309” is an EXACT dupe. I mean 100% exact - I smelled my og bottle* along side PP’s and they’re the same. The price is great too. I ordered the largest size they offered at the time and it was something like....$16? If you are mourning the loss of this fragrance to this day, dry your tears and head to Perfume Parlour. You will be ecstatic and overcome with joy when your bottle arrives I promise you. (*i mean the 05 OG. (And of course if you’re looking to sell a bottle of the ‘05 please PM me. I would like another bottle even though the dupe is perfect. It’s the completionist in me)

I still randomly remember this perfume and mourn its loss, lol. I even had the original silver foil packaging one but sold it on Ebay stupidly! It was such a unique, unforgettable beauty. I truly don't understand what Dior is doing because they'd make so much money if they brought this original caramel popcorny one back. The boring, stale patchouly citrus flowers Miss Dior iterations are getting boring. EDIT: I just realized I have the 2005 fragrance!! I have a bottle with the sticker so I just assumed I had the blah reformulation but apparently the sticker ones without the indentation are the original 2005 stuff. I just checked its batch code and it's from 2010! I guess I need to treasure it forever, lol. Thanks papagena and nena for that info! BTW Soap & Glory original pink body butter is a dead ringer for this one. I've smelled many MDC dupes but that one is the closest. I think S&G have a perfume too but the body butter is satisfying enough for me.

I can’t put this fragrance into words that would portray how beautiful it is. It’s like salted caramel coated popcorn that you are eating while watching a movie in a cozy jumper. There’s someone cutting fresh strawberries in the background and you can get a whiff of it every so often. This is stunning. A gem that shouldn’t have been discontinued, something I will be salty about until the day I die. I’m almost half way through my current bottle and unfortunately it’s not the easiest to find a genuine bottle these days (the price also makes me cringe). I’m not usually one to look to copy fragrance websites but in a situation in which a favourite fragrance has been discontinued, I have made an exception. A small UK company (Perfume 24) has a fragrance “inspired” by Cherie and it smells identical to my nose. At less than £25 for 100ml I am planning to get 3 back ups. Thank God I will be able to continue to wear this amazing DNA for years to come.

I loved it at first sniff but the price for 100ml was more than I had ever paid at the time (2006, $65). Fortunately, the sales clerk threw in a deluxe mini. I got many compliments including a coworker who lost his mind saying how great I smelled and I should wear it every day. It was the perfect strength and I got whiffs of it throughout the day without it being overbearing. Over the years I tried other fragrances but none were as special. When my bottle got low enough to repurchase, it was already too late to reliably purchase a genuine 2005 version. Even more upsetting that the remaining milliliters and the deluxe mini smell great while a much newer, unused mini and half used bottle of J'adore have gone bad sitting just inches apart on my dresser. Like a previous reviewer, I would give my pinkie toe (right, not left) to get a fresh, new bottle of the 2005 version today. Going to try the Oil Perfumery version soon. Fingers crossed.

I’ve just found a large bottle of this abandoned in the back of my under-sink cupboard - I can’t remember where I got it but I suspect it was a gift from my mum and for that reason (and the fact that I had two small toddlers and rarely had the time for perfume in those years) I think I assumed it was an old lady fragrance & shelved it mostly untested. Yikes. I’ve just pulled it out and for the first time looked at what it actually is as those toddlers have grown up and are looking at various Miss Diors (and others) themselves. I like it, but am getting to know it amongst a few others we’ve purchased decants of so t̶h̶e̶ j̶u̶r̶y̶ i̶s̶ s̶t̶i̶l̶l̶ o̶u̶t it turns out, it's quite lovely! I definitely get a strawberry sparkle and caramel popcorn. Like a sliced strawberry that's sat in a glass of champagne. So glad I didn't assume the worst and throw it out!

I FINALLY TESTED IT! I'm wearing it now actually, and it's (by no surprise) amazing. Wonderfully crafted and just the right balance of sweetness and sophistication. The popcorn and strawberry are such unique and playful notes. The caramel is there ,but it's not really edible...no doubt a bit gourmand-ish, but definitely a chypre. A well blended perfume with notes that dance together in harmony. The patchouli is earthy and smooth. The rose is delicate. (I don't smell cherry or pineapple, it's more floral than fruity to my nose.) The mandarin is fresh. This is truly the Miss Dior- stunningly sophisticated and seductively sweet. It smells a bit like the 2011 version, (my first perfume love) but more youthful and sweet. It's a classic of our time. God only knows why they reformulated it a million times. Dang it, Dior, BRING THIS BACK.

Very interesting symphony- I see it as a rose, jasmin, amber and musk have suddenly fallen into a pit filled with fresh berries and fruit :) The start and the ending of this are so different, it is truly amazing. For a second I actually though- wait I read it was a fruity perfume, what`s with all this amber and rose? And then bam!- it changed Completely. It changed into one of the fruitiest non-citrus perfumes out there. Nice imitation of the real fresh strawberry smell- this is a gourmet strawberry. Feminine, pleasant, tasty. Reminds of L`Imperatrice by DG, but with much more strawberry. No idea what popcorn note is mentioned here- I smell none of this. P.S the strong smell of strawberry outcompetes the cherry here- if I didn`t know it was called "cherie", I would barely single it out.

Today it is slightly soapy on me. And fruity at the same time. Cherries, strawberries, amber. An old birthday gift that never fully satisfied me. I wanted it, it was a love at first contact. I used to feel popcorn in it and dirty, sticky strawberry lemonade spill that was spoiling my enjoyment. Very young and fun. Today it is clean on me, so the effect changes with every wear. Clearly Dior's answer to Coco Mademoiselle. From this family Miss Dior edt is my favourite and 2017 version an abomination. I also like Miss Dior Parfum. It is very close to this premiere edition mixed with the edt. I still quite love it. It lasts all day with private scent bubble. And I feel it next morning with its gorgeous, juicy-floral self with a hint of popcorn.

To say that i am so sad this is no longer made is an UNDERSTATEMENT. This is probably the one of the most unique fragrances ever made. To me it is best in the cooler weather. In the heat for some reason the sweetness gets very cloying and overwhelming. This fragrance is so complex and well blended that the only thing that i really can detect is the caramel popcorn. At times i smell the strawberry a little and the pineapple and patchouli, but again it is so well blended that its hard to detect certain notes. This one is by far the best Miss Dior that has every been made. I haven't smelled ALL of them, but this was so loved by so many women that its a shame Dior would discontinue it.

I have some left of this formulation on a 5 ml mini size bottle from a miniature set. I don't use It I try to keep It intact so I can confirm that no other Miss Dior reformulation smells like Cherie. None, zero. Dior keeps launching these miss Dior reversions which have nothing to do with either the original Miss Dior or the subsequent Cherie reformulations now turned into/renamed as Miss Dior. I have a 50ml bottle of the 2013/14 version and it's a note by note copy of Coco Mademoiselle, smells "similar" to Cherie but not sweet, its floral and Patchouli. Francois Demachy was only hired to destroy Dior's greatest compositions, Christine Nagel my queen, you never dissappoint.

Got my vintage bottle of Miss Dior Cherie EDP yesterday. I am disappointed as for me it smells like a Lush shop :-( Its not what I expected :-(. I do no feel any champagne, strawberries and popcorn. So sad... PS: I was wearing it for few days and now getting addicted to it. Now I feel Miss Dior DNA, which is probably stronger than later flankers have. And yes, it is with strawberries and sugary note. It is slowly becoming my favorite perfume. PPS: OK, not it is my official favorite and I bought a 3rd bottle of it to stock up. Also the second bottle smells less sweet and more champagne. Seems the fragrance changing smell due to the age or I've got them from different years.

This is such a beautiful perfume and was heartbroken to find it had been discontinued. I don't care how youthful it was, I'd still have it as my signature now. The new, more mature, Miss Dior pales in comparison to Miss Dior Cherie and has an overwhelming patchouli note. Too much patchouli can destroy the balance of a perfume while just a hint can add depth. In this case, the note worked subtly, adding elegance and a little restraint to the other more playful notes. The top and middle notes are just delightful - that popcorn accent is out-of-this-world! I received this perfume in my youth and will never ever forget it.

Gorgeous fragrance that I got to try few year too late. After 2 fails trying to get it on Ebay and receiving rancid fragrances, I gave a Montale Rose Elixir a try and truly loved it, actually even more. Its like 90% similar and lasts so much longer. Also Galimard Songeries is lke 95% similar up to performance which is not so great but its and amazing dupe. So if you like me and got on Miss Dior Cherie train way too late, there is some amazing dupes that are better and worth trying as much as I love the bottle of the Original Miss Dior Cherie and owning something rare and vintage is amazing feeling.

Reminds me of being 12-15 and reading Elle Girl/Teen Vogue and seeing the iconic ads and smelling the magazine samples. Maybe for that reason, this is an extremely aspirational smell for me - like what a glamorous young woman smells like. Sweet, but not cloying, and unique, and RICH. That fucking Brigitte Bardot song from the Sophia Coppola ads plays in my head every time I smell this. I only get a hint of the caramel/popcorn - definitely blends into the other notes in a subtle way for me. UPDATE: Have purchased the O** Pe******* dupe and can confirm pretty spot on, with even greater sillage.

Honestly, I could go on and on about how beautiful and timeless this fragrance is... but you probably already know that. I’m shocked Dior hasn’t brought this original recipe of perfection back to the shelves, considering the amount of people that have begged for it to come back have so for over a decade. Of course, whatever drama happened behind the scenes, caused the re-release to OF COURSE be completely different than the original............ which doesn’t make it a re-release, just a new, okay version of the original, iconic one. Dior: do us a solid and bring THIS one back, please.

If you really WANT THIS ONE its hard to get so i have a best advice for you. I already bought alternative version to this fragrance by J Fenzi - Miss Jill Fenzi. Its the same scent with same notes. It smells with popcorn and strawberry i love it. You can buy it actually on ebay and price is really funny about 15 USD. Justr try it and you will see. highly recommend i have lot of alternatives from J Fenzi and they are very good at copying fragrances its not just a alcohol water but it lasts long and smells exactly the same. Try it and then let me know if it i was right :)

I absolutely loved this when it first came out! It was one of my best friend's signature scents when we were teenagers. I had never met anyone like her before: she was almost irritatingly beautiful and unapologetically girly, convincing me, the awkward bookworm, to embrace my femininity. This perfume reminds me of her, and I remember watching her put on make up (the finishing touches were copious amounts of Lancôme's Juicy Tube lipgloss) and flirting with boys. I wish I could find it so I could wear it and briefly feel very young, over-the-top and carefree again.

And me: I had the bottle with the pink airy ballon, I loved it so very much, I missed it so very much, just as my dog, a male golden retriever who died so suddenly a year ago, Im still in pieces of the loss of him... I thought I just could go to the shops and buy a new bottle of my Cherie - and it was gone - as well - but than, a month ago I discover that I had pulled over about 8ml on a dispenser I had forgotten all about - - Cherie you are my holy grale - I will love ju forever as much and high as my two beloved late golden retrievers

I would give my left pinky toe for this version to come back on the market. It was the very first perfume I ever bought, and I can't get over my good taste back then :-D the perfect mix of fruity and sweet, without either of the two tones being overpowering. It was young, elegant, fresh and a little flirty. I miss this scent! I went through my collection and am lucky enough to have gathered some tiny collector's edition bottles from the airport, I will treasure those. They are a joy to look at almost just as much as they are to smell.

I have the DUA impersonation of the 2005 vintage formula named Miss Class. I'm going to let this sit for a few months because right now I'm getting more rose and patchouli than the other notes. It's still really beautiful fresh out of the bottle but I'm hoping with a bit of time to macerate, the fruity notes, popcorn and caramel become more prominent so that it leans gourmand and a little less soapy. I'm smelling my wrist now and just can't get enough of that 2000's vibe. This is the refined less syrupy version of Armani Si.

The newer versions of this in the Miss Dior are also good but just lack a little something for me, not as unique. I also like Armani Sí and they ́re in the same chypre family and somewhat similar but not very similar to me. Very nice girly fragrance but not too sweet, Christine Nagel is a good perfumeur

I totally get the hype about this one ! I got very lucky and got my hands on a 2005 edition today for a reasonable price. So fruity, fun, young, innocent and flirty at the same time. I detect much more pineapple, cherry, patchouli, strawberry and caramel than popcorn... The popcorn note is for me a lot stronger in Paco Rabanne pure xs than in this one. The dry down in Cherie wins... by far. What a perfectly and feminine drydown. Total love Longevity and silage is about average on me.

Bright cheery notes of cherry, strawberry and pineapple greet you first. Then sweet salt(caramel & popcorn note) coats the fruit adding a delicious texture and slowing getting just a little heavier & musky as it goes through the middle notes and into the darker base. Love this perfume. It's a shame it's discontinued. And yes, I know the story behind that and understand why it was done. But still a beautiful Miss Dior addition that will always be missed. 9.5/10 rating

So very gourmand, sweet, fun, intense, deep. The current versions are so chem lab in comparison. Miss Dior Cherie is alive. Strawberries, caramel, popcorn, rose, violet, patchouli, musk - this is what I feel. Very beautiful during summer. During winter I sometimes feel it sticky, dirty - like fruit stain, but during summer there is no such effect. Hard to believe she is 19 this year. Changed to love, because she is still so very different and so often copied

I had a bottle of this when I was 18 right after it came out. I remember smelling a paper sample in a magazine while I was at work. I loved it so much that when I got off I went straight to Dillard's and bought a bottle. It became my signature scent, And I wore it to my high school graduation. It was a bright, fizzy and fruity scent on me. I'd LOVE to have another bottle. Such a shame that Dior discontinued this one. They need to bring it back! 😭

Of all the perfumes I've ever tried, this one I miss the most. The dry down gave me the most exquisite warm, caramelly yet subtly fruity fragrance. Remembering how I left it on my dresser at my parents place and it dried up to a few ml in the summer - devastation when I found out it was discontinued and the new versions just not the same at all. Dior please bring this formulation back!!!

My mom used to wear this perfume and I remembered it well into my adult years! Now I can buy it myself and it’s gone ., luckily people still have version online and dupes here and there. It’s a beautiful fruity opening but not sick or fake fruit, it’s sophisticated and friendly but complex. I don’t even smell popcorn or patchouli or too much wood. It’s just fresh and lasts for hours!

I wanted this fragrance so bad when I was in my teens!! I was IN LOVE with it's scent! So sweet!! It's was delicious!! When I finally was able to get it, it was reformulated. I remember my mom gifted me the 2011 version. I was 19. Still love that version. It was more mature and sophisticated that this one. But still younger. Anyways.. I'll forever dream of having this one

This was my baby girl 🍿🌹 Caramelized rose with a statement. Very sweet and feminine, but bold for it's time. Christine Nagel was ahead of her time with this one. This was my high school experience in a bottle. She was there through a thousand tears, heartbreaks, joys and adventures. I envy those who can find their old signature scent today to get those memories back.

This smells almost identical to the Versace Red Jeans. Both are clear. At first sniff one smelt more like apples & one smelt more like honeysuckle but now I can't tell them apart, just that they are different. It smells like there is only a single floral note difference. It's also similar to several other floral/fruit combos such as flowerbomb and D&G Floral Drops.

Listen to me! Go to Oil Perfumery online and look up Miss Dior Cherie and you will get their oil perfume for $15 that smells EXACT like this!!! I have it and I can’t believe how they did it. It’s IDENTICAL. You can even buy thrift large size bottle of oil to refill your smaller bottle but the small one lasts a very long time. Again IDK how they did it but they did.

Every time I spray this on me, I understand more why this was discontinued. It smells too good to be legally worn in public :’) The strawberry champagne and caramel popcorn compose a perfect melody to my nose. Its unbelievably delicious and hypnotizing. Shame on Dior for discontinuing this scent along with all the other original ones throughout the years

I am staring at my last bottle with the last bit of perfume left in it. To me that bottle was youth, it was a trip to Rome with girlfriends, a handsome Italian man in springtime at the Forum. It is a burst of warm spring that makes the drizzling rainfall palatable. I wish I could find the original scent somewhere because it is poetry to my nose.
