Absolutely Outstanding! To me this is the Hermes Birkin of the perfume world. Classy, expensive smelling, classic, stands the test of time for good reason, grown up, uncomplicated and beautiful. Well done to Dior for this masterpeice, theres truly nothing like it. My mother always called this the "come to bed perfume". I had this 41 years ago when l was little, about 8yrs old. I know stupid right? My businessman father who travelled all over from country to country would come home from his trips abroad and bring me a bottle of Miss Dior Originale and my mum would get another expensive perfume usually Chanel no5 or no 19. He was one of those men that was so busy he didn't really have time to put any thought into what an appropriate present for an 8yr old girl would be and grabbed a prezzie from the duty free shop in the airport on route home for us, he probably saw Miss in the name and naturally thought oh it must be a perfume for a young girl. l remembered that gorgeous scent my whole life. It's imprinted on my nose forever. It was on my wishlist and l got my first bottle in my adult life today and wore it to work. The first bitter galbanum scent bothered me slightly l wasn't expecting it and its a little scratchy and harsh but it grows on you after wearing the scent a few times and you start to crave that bitter opening. But as soon as the liquid warms on your skin, that smooth, divine, creamy powdery yummyness kicks in and it's like sinking into a giant powdery marshmallow of soft but powerful heady scent. This is the smell l remember like a smooth iris bomb, but doesn't have iris in it strangely. It's truly seductive if your in to powdery scents, its so good. I've been trying to figure out what this smell is that's identical to something that I've used recently and l suddenly realised omg it's Fenjal bath oil, that's the same fragrance as this. Identical, that must be why l have always loved Fenjal oil so much because it's my Miss Dior scent. (Lightbulb moment)! I'm always going to wear this now. On this day l declareth that for richer or for poorer, that l shall never be without a bottle of this heavenly juice again! 9.5/10 and the only reason it doesn't get 10/10 is the bottle is ugly it deserves a stunning modern chic bottle that makes a statement on your perfume table, and the feel of it makes my teeth go funny. It's like the effect fingernails being dragged down a blackboard has on people, that type of eeeeek l feel tempted to wear a glove when handling the bottle!

I’m a guy and I wear Miss Dior Originale. Nowadays perfumes tend to be gender neutral, particularly the vintage ones. I have them all: Shalimar and Mitsouko, Y, Rive Gauche, Eau de Lancôme, Eau de Rochas, Chanel 5 and 19, Opium, Cabochard... All of them can be worn by guys. The only one that was missing to my collection was Miss Dior Originale. What can I say that hopefully has not been said yet?... First this is a “comfort” perfume: not aggressive not a powerhouse but smooth and gentle yet very present. On me it evolves first from a blast of white flowers (gardenia and Jasmine?), to a sweet powdery skin scent that lingers all day and gives you some surprising gentle reminders that it is still here when you almost forgot about it. At some point it reminds me of Chanel 5, Guerlain Shalimar Parfum Initial L’eau and even Dior pour Homme (the Dior DNA I guess). I’m in love with this little gem which is more like one of my “weekend” perfumes when I want to wear something more intimate and smart casual, yet stylish. Again, compared to the synthetic scents of today, Miss Dior is a timeless testimony that vintage does not smell like “old lady’s perfume” (expression that I hate by the way, as one of my fondest memories is the one of my late grand-mother’s perfume), and that everything old is new again. Vintage perfumes deserve respect and to be discovered, even though some have been reformulated, but best reformulation than completely disappear...

Omg this is such a gorgeous scent - so much better than the endless Poison, J'adore, Addict and Miss Dior flankers that the house of Dior has been churning out in recent years (not to mention the unfortunate JOY). Miss Dior EDT Originale proves that a fragrance formulated in 2011 can resemble its vintage predecessor, yet be modern, pleasant, wearable and absolutely enchanting. Sure, this perfume does not fit into the present day mainstream trends (gourmand, floral-fruity etc.); in order to appreciate this gem, one must love all those green olfactory symphonies from several decades ago, such as No 19, Chamade, Magie Noire and the likes. The main culprit is galbanum, a note so common in perfumes launched in the late 1960s-1970s, yet so rare nowadays (but it seems to be making a comeback in mainstream fragrances such as Gucci Bloom Aqua di Fiori). In Miss Dior the Original EDT, the opening is dominated by galbanum, which then merges with jasmine and very subtle patchouli, which adds sweetness but does not overwhelm. Some might be scared off by this fiercely bitter opening, but they should wait for no more than 20 minutes for this scent to fully transform into a stunning beauty. I will be investing in this version of Miss Dior as soon as I empty my bottles of Paloma Picasso EDP and Nasomatto Blamage.

Oh Miss Dior how I love thee. Vintage glamour in a bottle. You need to have a seasoned nose for this one. Only three notes listed, but the depths of this reaches for more, for more complexity. Soft and powdery, spicy with a hint of sweetness, floral but a little dirty (earthy) from the patchouli. I immediately get the blast of galbanum, but it’s met with this extremely woody essence (on my skin) that I can’t place. Again, it must be the earth from the patchouli? The spice is like a light dusting of cinnamon that’s been mixed with a dash of raw sugar (so not too sweet, like candy). The dry down is so soft and delicious. This lasts ALL day on me. It’s undoubtedly strong at first spritz, so I think this is a fragrance for someone that does not allow a fragrance to “wear her”... I’m not sure if anyone’s mentioned it or not, or if it’s been compared to It, but it reminds me of Shalimar Initial, just more soapy. How I feel when I’m wearing it... I see myself in the 1954 movie Sabrina. I’m in the parlor room of the Larabee Mansion, in a beautiful drop shoulder, silk lamé evening dress, with a matching scarf. I’m sipping champagne from a flute, making sure I don’t mess up my red lipstick...This fragrance is extremely romantic for me. I LOVE IT!

I love this. It's a classical chypre, that somehow makes a note as pungent as Galbanum extremely smooth and pleasing. In most scents, it comes across very earthy and even a little "crunchy". In this scent, it just smells complimentary to everything else. I found the modern Miss Dior Eau de Parfum to also have a brillantly crafted rose and vanilla, so it feels like the Miss Dior DNA. It's deep and a little bitter, yet it has this slight sweetness in the herbs that makes it feel far more welcoming than some chypres I have. It's more grounded than Anais Anais, almost like the earth to Anais Anais' Sky It's much Soapy than Knowing, and less authoritative ( I always feel stern in it no matter what I do). Unfortunately, I find Aromatics Elixir to have a better depth of character to this scent at a lower price, and I also wear Moschino's Moschino for some sweetness in the fall so this isn't likely to be a purchase unless I stumble into a great bargain. I do however, feel tempted to try this out around September as a work scent simply to allow myself a inoffensive chypre. I do find Moschino does this nicely, but I wouldn't mind an alternative. This is an extremely approachable Chypre for anyone who can afford Dior's prices. 8.5/10

This is wonderful .. if you want to exude sophistication associated with being chic this is it. So very powdery and refreshingly soapy. I do get a strong amount of aldehyde but this is so different to Chanel n°5 and I am glad it is for I love that perfumes can be so distinct even when sharing so much similarity. Again, I do not believe that only the aforesaid three notes make this composition. Iris, oakmoss or atleast moss or an accord has to be present.. my bottle is atleast 6 years old She is green but not the overpowering kind and so I have to disagree with many reviews here unless one finds green notes irritating. I have found galbanum to be a very noticeable note and may be that's why it's mostly used as a top note ; some notable galbanum perfumes Chanel n°19, Bel Respiro, Estée Lauder Beautiful which all i equally enjoy wearing. Though being a major note the patchouli here is very laid back and that's something because I do not enjoy patchouli as such in majority of modern perfumes. Happy to say this is an exception. Anybody can wear this to office, meetings, social gatherings alike all year round. The only negative is I feel it's way over-priced. It could have been half.

The opening is harsh, but on my skin, it warms up quickly, turning into a green, floral, and powdery scent. This is the sort of perfume I'd label as 'dry', with barely any sweetness mixed into the composition for added appeal. Not that it needs it. Still, I can imagine it'd have been more popular if it had had some sweeter, buttery white flowers thrown into the mixture. But that's not really the point of this particular facet of Miss Dior - God knows we have enough of 'em to suit every taste, anyway. Originale, however, is different from the rest... It's like she doesn't care if you like her or not; she's unapologetically herself - as 'outdated' as some may find her to be. I say 'she', but in truth, this is a rather unisex fragrance. Performance is good for an edt, in my opinion, and perhaps surprisingly, it layers well with other scents. So, if you find the galbanum too much, simply pair it with a creamier body lotion. Bottle is gorgeous too. Personally, I think I'm falling in love. Edit: Scored a vintage bottle circa 2004. God is good XD

It has listed only three notes. I can definitely smell much more. Yes, it's heavy. Yes, it's vintage, but strangely, this seem very clean for me. Also, I can smell plenty of iris here, it's very powdery. I can smell the green notes, the galbanum here is slightly bitter, but not overwhelming bitter like in other vintage fragrances. A friend of mine told me this smells like a Chanel DNA, and I can't argue with that. Yes, it has some kind of Chanel DNA, die to aldehydes wich are not mentioned here. I definitely smell plenty of aldehydes in Miss Dior. I also can see why it is considered not very long lasting. This has a ton of iso e super and due to people going nose blind to it, I can see why it is voted moderate. Fortunately, I'm not nose blinded to iso e super, so I can smell Moss Dior for pretty long enough. I get 7 hours with it easily with decent sillage. I like it very much. I'm actually in love with it. At first, I didn't like it, but I got used to this frag pretty quick. Scent: 8/10 Longevity: 9/10 Sillage: 8/10 Bottle: 9/10

This is so lovely. Opens super green & fresh, which quickly melts into a clean herbacious warmth. I wish the wonderful bitter galbanum opening hung around a little bit longer. Longevity is not great, I do wish it had a little bit more "oomph" - I feel like I want to keep spraying & topping up...but that's so often how it is nowadays. Still, it's such a refreshing change from fruit/sugar/candyfloss/caramel vanilla/synthetic woods etc etc...It smells "old school" & retro. In the cycle of trends, maybe what smells "old" will become the new "trendy"...one day. Anyway I'm happy to wear it & be "retro" or whatever! lol. I think anyone who likes No 19 would also really enjoy this one, but they are different enough to have both. Gorgeous perfume :) Edit: I have a vintage Miss Dior (Esprit de Parfum), they're not really similar when compared, apart from some resemblance when sniffing the sprayer! This is much fresher & more linear (as expected) but I love them both.

it was my dream for last two years. But I wasn't mature enough for it. Now I am. I'm impressed by drydown and smell on coat after several days. Scent is addictive somehow. I have current formulation. It last whole day, but next morning it is gone. I expected longevity of Chanel 5 eau de parfum... which smells even next morning. It's worth every single penny I spend on it. If you're not satisfied by gourmand kind of modern mainstream, this is interesting to test. Just from 1 to 3 sprays is enough for whole day. Now it's humid cold autumn and I'm enjoing the smell. I'm courius how much I'll like the scent in different seasons of year. I'm so happy that this has nothing in common with modern pinkish miss dior, which even develop into stinky smell on my skin. Bottle is beautiful, only cup is strange-from thin plastic and makes cheap impression.

About three years ago I had ordered a small bottle of this scent online and after I had sprayed my wrist,I thought"hmmm,this smells really good and why does it smell so familiar to me".I kept on sniffing and thinking and I remembered back in the 80's in elementary school,there was a teacher that smelled just like this.She was an elegant woman,always well dressed,hair and makeup neatly done,and she always wore a pearl necklace.I remember going into her classroom one time and all I could smell was Miss Dior.To me this fragrance exudes refinement and class a true luxury of a fragrance and when I wear it I feel strong and confident and also brings back fond memories of my childhood.

I’ve had a bottle of this in my collection consistently since I first smelled it when I was 17 (I’m in my 50s now). It’s not quite the same now, very similar, and if you weren’t overly familiar with the original you might not notice. This is the scent I reach for on the days when I’m really not sure what to wear. I know people think it’s old fashioned, but even now it’s one of my most complimented scents. It sits quite close to my skin and smells quite green and fresh with an hint of powderyness in the dry down, and when people lean in to greet me they always notice it. I think it may be a personal association thing, but something about it always makes me think of Christmas.

This is a beautiful, elegant and well-blended chypre which does, in my opinion, resemble the perfume I wore in the '70s and '80s, though I'm not sure how closely, since I don't have the vintage to compare. Though I am unable to distinguish all the individual notes as some people can, I cannot believe the composition is as simple as the quoted notes seem to suggest, particularly as I normally dislike scents with a high proportion of patchouli. I really hope this sells well, merely to convince Dior that money can be made by producing mass-market classic perfumes for grown-ups. I shall be increasing the sales figures by as much as I can afford, but I need your help in this!

This is one of the great chypres. Miss Dior Eau de Toilette Originale was created in 1947. As others have said here it is not remotely like the modern IMO inferior Miss Dior scent. I read somewhere that it still has the oakmoss ingredient of the 1947 recipe despite the fact that oakmoss is all but banned internationally nowadays with only a minute amount permitted. But now oakmoss can be used by perfumers again because the offending molecule that causes skin irritation (or worse) has been removed from the formulation. So the oakmoss in it is not some sort of synthetic. I am surprised that Dior still makes this wonderful unique scent available. Long may that remain so.

It definitively has the vintage vibe. The truth is that i expected it to be greener and the galbanum headier as the votes on the board incline. However on my skin the galbanum lasts 20min and then it goes straight to the drydown which is patchouli with a hint of flower very reminiscence to rose. I know...my skin amplifies all the rose related scents but i wish galbanum was more there..that's all. I like the very end. Is creamy patchouli which reminds me the patch of the Dioressence les creations de monsieur dior. Longevity is average 5h then is a skin scent Sillage is good. After the first hours is within arm length strength and then settles close to you

This is very nice, I like it a lot. I bought this blindly and got lucky. It’s very similar to Elizabeth Taylor’s Passion so if you don’t like that then you definitely won’t like this. Luckily I love Passion. Honestly you might as well get Passion as it’s cheaper and essentially the same although I understand it’s not as easy to find as Miss Dior (it’s virtually impossible to buy Passion where I live). The only other Miss Dior I’ve smelt is the parfum which is nothing like this! They are completely different perfumes who just happen to share a name. The bottle of this is stunning! One of the most beautiful perfume bottles I own.

The opening is aldehydes, citrus and bitter, green galbanum. Astringent and a fragrance I associate with a very strict lady, a teacher or other authority figure. But then, the dry down, clouds part, and a beautiful warm floral starts peeking through. There is warming orange blossom that immediately makes me think of warm skin in the firs days of summer. The backbone of the fragrance is woody. Buttoned up and sensual at the same time. Miss Dior Originale is "perfumey", vintage in style and not everybody's cup of tea. Please Dior - never stop making it!

This fragrance is sublime. I was prepared to recoil, given some of the reviews, but honestly my experience of this was transcendent. I did not understand how a fragrancd could be called "green" until I tested this. The opening is so strong and sharp, but totally addictive. The heart is surprisingly sweet and soft, and the drydown makes me wonder how beautiful the vintage version would have been. I love the slightly powdery, refreshing ending, and only wish it lasted a bit longer. I am in my 30s and would happily wear this. So, so clean and lovely.

I have this (purchased 2014) & a mini bottle of Miss Dior that my grandmother gave me over 30 years ago. The only difference I can distinguish is that the older version has just a hint more depth to it. This may be because of it's age & storage. But it's only a hint - otherwise there's virtually no difference between the two. Sweet, floral & heady but without the cloying sugary sweetness that the modern celebrity-perfumes have. A great choice for all-day wear; it has excellent longevity. Vintage feminine at it's best.

Dear ladies who think that this is too vintagey, yesteryear, stinky, soapy or overpowering just need to go back to their modern, sweet, citrusy, sexi scents. It is the same with wine if you like sweet ones it is useless to offer you quality dry ones. It needs a bit of training and experience to recognize the quality. But I can understand that it can be really difficult if your nose has been spoilt by todays candied scents. When you start using too much sugar nothing is sweet enough.

I tried this one at a SA's insistence, there must have been six different Miss Dior versions on display. I already have and love Le Parfum, I'm not as fussed on MD edt which was MD Cherie.. Or was it!? I really don't understand what Dior are doing with this line. Anyway this one truly is a beautiful version and really has a pronounced vintage vibe. Who knows how close to the original it really is.?!. The old school bottle is a nice touch but Le Parfum will do me for now.

Miss Dior Originale, a timeless french classic by Christian Dior, I absolutely love this perfume, have worn it for years, so classy, sophisticated, soft and very feminine, get lots of compliments whenever I wear it. Although in the past few years it has doubled in price making it unaffordable to buy, I wait until sales come to buy it and usually buy the largest bottle. Totally recommend this fragrance as a staple along with, white linen, Chanel No. 5 and Gucci by Gucci.

Ohh,such a good one ...Incredibly feminine and with a lot of character...I tested it today and was amazed by this fragrance...2011..?Really..? Untill now ,some hours after I tested it on my wrist and washed my hands I still smell this one... ...while Miss Dior le perfume dissapeared after an half an hour I put it on,strange thing...I would definetily buy this edT,then I am finished my bottle of Jean-Louis Sherrer 2,I find them close each other by the way...Love

The scent examined is currently on the market, reformulated without any disadvantages. It could very well be worn by a man, he is very green, his wake is typical of an old Chanel, very green and resinous. I think of Coco and No. 19. The opening is strong, her body is strong and the drydown is strong and long lasting, a little resembling the next Aromatics Elixir and Diva, which beautiful perfume, that beautiful elegance, that luxury poudrè .

This scent is so beautiful and unique. It smells vintage but doesn't ping as "old lady" to me somehow—this is Nancy Drew in her prime! I blind-bought a big bottle of this and neglected it for a while due to it being packed away during a move. But ever since unpacking, I find myself grabbing this one all the time! There's something so special about this one that I can't put my finger on, and it instantly makes me happy every time I wear it.

I love this one! On my skin it turns almost oriental, which i love. I don't like the 2012 and 2017 miss dior versions, I really do like the edp miss dior 2021 for its powdery aspects. As a chypre lover I wanted to smell this and it is really classy. Woody, warm, smokey and green at the same time. Do not think I will own it, but it is definitely beautiful. Timeless elegance in a bottle. Forever a love.

It seems timely wearing this scent now as a tribute to Queen Elizabeth, since she sadly passed away... Even though she did not wear Miss Dior herself, it was originally created in 1947, the year she turned 21; and the year she gave her famous speech dedicating her future to a life of service. A beautiful vintage scent for anyone to reflect on the past and look to the future.

At first it smells quite strongly of typical EDTs, but once it airs, a lovely soft and fresh soapy smell comes through (almost like you've just washed your hands) that isn't overpowering. I left it on overnight to test it and when I smelt it in the morning, it was a lovely sweet floral almost jasmine like scent. Quite nice to mix with other more floral scents or by itself.

Im a big fan of this scent since it has this oldie but goldie vibe ;) It took me a bit of time to find it and im glad i did. It has a bit of a bitter scent but in a very weird way reminds me of something clean some green soap but not really. I love the dry down. There is something powdery about it but its super faint its not in your face. I absolutly love this scent.

I blind bought a 100ml of this and today I excitedly put it on for a picnic lunch with friends. Perfect scent for the humid spring and elegant without being sweet or overpoweringly girly. It comes off very aldehydic on me, a perfectly vintagey scent. Definitely don't regret buying the huge bottle and I look forward to a summer with miss dior :)

My mother had this on the 80's. And me at 12 years old, would secretly spray a little on my neck before going to school. I love this scent my mom. It is so so clean and fresh. Especially at night when she would go out on a date with my dad. This perfume would stay in her cloths even if it was washed.

Green, dusty and beautiful. I wouldn't say it is mature, I'm 25 and I've loved that scent since I was 18! It's vintage smelling. It makes you feel elegant and confident, I'd even say it's got a lightness that makes it wearable by anyone, of any age. A must smell for every perfume lovers!

I love it. Gorgeous, high quality, very elegant fragrance. And really beautiful galbanum. This is my cup of tea. I think I could wear it for every occasion. I didn ́t experience the vintage but this is great too.

A composition of master Edmond Roudnitska. A beautiful masterpiece. A Chypre infused with creamy sandalwood. Rich and indulging. Feels like being in a very luxurious place in the 1950's. Divine.

Classic, vintage perfumery. Timeless, has that almost incense-y warmth. One has to like galbanum and vintage green perfumes to like this. It has nothing to do with the new releases of Miss Dior.

Fantastic, elegant, feminine. Just put it on my wrisy and noticed in 1 hour the beautiful fragrance, stanning and light. Certainly Can put it on the same like chanel 19 level and type.

Sharp, fresh, herbal opening of a classical chypre was for a long time too retro for me, but with years passing I've been more and more open to the classical perfumery, starting with N°5 and now I like it and feel special in such compositions. As a Miss Dior collector I had to get it at some point. This one is both classical and easy. Truly I do not feel much more than the 3 main players. The galbanum is delightfully green and herbal, very refreshing, jasmine is calm and feminine and the patchouli drydown very earthy and rich but not dirty. If you like the 3 notes, you will like Miss Dior Originale. It was a scent for a miss, must have been consired light and youthful when it was created. My Mom had the classical Miss Dior but I do not remember it, possibly did not have a great diffusion. This projects to arm length, actually fills a room. So I dont have a way to compare this 2011 creation and the classical Miss Dior. Just a faint memory of the classic being more complex. Very fitting for rainy spring and summer days. After an hour the jasmine starts to bloom and it turns very feminine while still fresh. A this point my husband entering the room sniffed the air and mmm...ed it and asked what is it. If in his opinion it is good then I will wear it more often as he is picky. He loves Hypnotic Poison, Flowerbomb, Coco, Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet and this. He also adores the scent of Sol de Janeiro yellow shampoo. A good pick at any genre. After 3 hours the scent transforms quite a lot, I love it - it turns bright, solar, fizzy with hints of coca cola from the patchouli and incredible sweet jasmine shine. This definitely needs to be worn to be appreciated fully.

Ok, a tried my mum's today (bought it for her for christmas, so it pretty much brand new manufactured April 2014). i could smell most of the notes listed for the other Miss Dior listing of "Christian Dior Miss Dior" the eau de toilette...that i suspect is the vintage version, which the Originale is trying to emanate? i haven't smelt this one, but my mum wore it for years and says this is the same one. anyhoos, i love it! Please take note though: most of the notes are missing above. i smell clary sage, bergamot, violet, iris, oakmoss, rose, powder, woods...yes galbanum! oh and those aldehydes! and i suspect there's a little patch in the mix too. Jasmine? not really. i got vetiver, orris, sandalwood and powdery amber in the base too. a complex beautifully crafted green chypre. ....this isn't what you see above, so do try to test it...if you love terre d'iris (which is drier and woodier/masculin), infusion d'iris (which is sweeter and wetter) or vintage chanel no.19 EDT (more aldehydes and bitter creaminess), Madame Rochas (which is sweeter, more powdery and complex)...if you love any of those, i can bet you will love this too. this is a beautiful green powdery woody aldehydic "chypre floral", in all it's gloriousness. it isn't screechy or bitter, or cold...as one might expect, well not to my nose! the top notes stay for a good half hour (the best bit!), then it does dry down through a heart of floral orris to mostly a skin scent, all enveloped in gorgeous little wafts of delicious powder for 4-5 hours. it is truly a bit of a little gem!

"Elizabeth McNeill", Ingeborg Day's alias in the memoir Nine and a Half Weeks, wears Miss Dior. When she refuses to comply to one of her sadistic lover's sexual requests, he threatens to throw her out and packs her a suitcase with her clothes and two bottles of Miss Dior — one almost empty and the other still unopened. This scent is very fitting to the book's dark story and its setting, New York in the 70s. The harsh contrast of soapy aldehydes against dirty oakmoss and bitter galbanum does hint to a cruel sensuality. A faint jasmine, the dirtiest of flowers. Narcissus, with its soft wafts of tobacco. Leather. Light and darkness. Ingeborg wore only white clothes in the warm seasons, and black clothes in autumn and winter. I can see why she would be drawn to such a fragrance. My vintage bottle from the 70s has traces of honeyed amber on the background, which makes the scent more complex and sensual, whereas the current reformulation is sharper and more bitter — it could easily pass for a masculine fragrance. I assume amber and labdanum are out in the current reformulation, but the pyramid is fairly more complex than shown here: along with galbanum, jasmine and patchouli, I smell narcissus, aldehydes and oakmoss. I prefer the vintage, but the current reformulation is still very attractive.

I don't know how much "Miss Dior Originale" is a faithful recreation of the "Miss Dior" which was launched in 1947. However, I have a feeling that it can be quite close to the original one. It is an "old style" perfume, rich in aldehydes, floral notes, oakmoss and resins; completely different (thankfully!) from the syrupy fragrances that are so fashionable now. A younger (than me) person I know, who is all crazy for Narciso Rodriguez and for "delicate" (in her own words) scents, said that "Miss Dior" stinks and it smells like "old lady"... then, nothing could make me happier and more determined to wear it whenever I can! Miss Dior is the antithesis of "fruitchouli" and of all the perfumes created to please the teenagers who want to smell of vanilla & strawberry pudding. It is not a warm scent, nor a gourmand scent. It is stylish and cold, a fragrance suitable for an "Ice Queen" whom one can only admire from afar. Although I am more into Oriental fragrances, I love it and I consider it suitable for all the occasions when you want to feel elegant and at the same time keep your distance. Wonderful for formal occasions, whilst I would not recommend it for a romantic date.

I picked up a bottle manufactured in 2013, more out of curiosity than any other reason. I wanted to see what Dior did with their flagship fragrance. First off, I happen to really, really like it, and think it is a beautiful fragrance, but while it smells similar to the original, it is not enough where I could say, ah, that really is Miss Dior. This is stripped down in comparison, and to me it is apparent. Some here think this is more like the Espirt version of the original scent. I've never smelled the Espirit version so I wouldn't know. But I did test it against the vintage and while it resembles it, it really isn't the same. To me, this fragrance smells more like a toned-down, much softer version of Jean-Louis Scherrer than the original Miss Dior. Since I happen to love Scherrer, I really like this too, so it works for me, though I really wish they wouldn't have messed with the incomparable Miss Dior. That was one of a kind. After testing this against the original I still think this is a good perfume, but don't expect this to smell the same as the original otherwise you may be disappointed.

update 12/24/2020 pandemic Christmas season. I'm about to finish third bottle of EDT and a mini of the extrait, all used up and need to order more. i am amazed how easy this scent is to wear. I find it less obnoxious if i spray it heavily on my knees and then put on my jeans or trousers. I teach seniors, 17-18 years old and the young males want to know what i am wearing, since in my mind, anyway, this is a gender bending scent. men could wear this easily. this is the version of galbanum, jasmine and patchouli. no other notes detected. i hate oak moss, definitely no oakmoss. tweedy, upper class old post: i'm a very plain, 59 going on 60 schoolteacher lady. when i wear this i get more male attention. i find i spray ten sprays into the bathwater is enough. very strong. i bought a fresh bottle from saks fifth avenue December 2017. will i purchase again? yes. highly recommend. edited to add: bitter, astringent, remarkable, interesting. a man could wear this easily.

Thus far, it's a like, not a love. I love the galbanum, sharp and green and wish the sharpness would stay around longer, but it dissipates leaving just the green; at first I thought the sharpness and spiciness was from ginger. What I don't care for is that 1) it's very light (based on 1 spray on wrist test), but am wondering if it'll be stronger when I use it as I normally use fragrances- oversprayer :) and 2) it has a bit much powder for my taste. Soapy. I wonder if it'll be better in winter... Very little projection, soft. About 3-4hrs in, it becomes a skin sent, but it has stuck around into the 8+hrs. A good bedtime scent. Some have mentioned it being similar to CNo5 in the dry down, I like this better, as I am not a fan of No5.

This smells almost entirely like galbanum. If you think this smells “old”, you’re right: galbanum was mentioned in Exodus. In 2023 this smells like a unisex fragrance. I really like it because it doesn’t change when it gets hot. I bought my bottle at the Dior boutique at EPCOT. I love the pied de poule pattern on the bottle. I wouldn’t say it smells “good”, but bitter florals/herbs have a habit of growing on me such as Sisley’s Eau D’Ikar. It absolutely smells clean. It’s sad that the new Miss Dior is a completely different fragrance.

I'll just add this, and it's probably been said already somewhere. If you're a guy that likes to wear a light application of Chanel No. 5 every so often because of how it works with your chemistry, you will probably like THIS version of MD. The Chanel and Dior are different from each other, but in the same genre/family. I just finished off my travel-sized vial. Getting another at some point is not out of the question for me.
