Rose Gipsy

This smells like no fragrance that I have ever smelled. This is the most realistic rose that I have ever smelled. It smells like it’s a early spring morning and the air is misty and dews have collected on a pink rose and you pick the rose along with the stem and the leaves and you crush everything together and make a perfume like in the old days. You can smell the rose but you can also smell the stems making it a fresh green rose. It’s very elegant and perfect for a posh brunch or afternoon tea. I get about 6 hours on skin and 8 hours on clothes with a moderate projection but great silage. It layers so well with Delina, Dior blooming bouquet and Roses vanille by Mancera but my favorite combo is with Dior blooming bouquet: it creates a feminine, classy fresh beautiful rose perfume. I want to try to layer it with Chanel eau tendre now 😍

Now that I've finally sampled this scent, I can tell you that it is VERY similar to La colle noir, with the following differences. La Colle Noire is sweeter, and slightly louder. It contains a lemony note, but I smell more of a sweet raspberry touch with the rose. Rose Gipsy is a more delicate, smooth, Turkish delight kind of vibe. It does resemble rose water, though goes slightly peppery on the dry down. I also detect a similar DNA to Gris Dior on the dry down (minus the patchouli). So yes, it's a lovely watery light rose perfume. And that's perfect for me. I've no doubt there's probably other perfumes that smell very similar for a fraction of the cost. Though I do enjoy the Dior style that's reminiscent in every fragrance. I already have La Colle Noire, so don't really need this to. But have bought a mini just to keep in my bag.

Rose gipsy opens fresh with some peppery spicy qualities. It’s actually the least sweet and the most ‘thorny’ prickly rose from the Dior line. I think La colle noire is denser than Gipsy but sweeter and more ambery. Rose Gipsy smells like the rose and the stems all crushed together. So there’s definitely a lot of ‘green’ quality to it. It eventually calms down to a translucent watery white musky rose soap perfume... Which is surprisingly tenacious and long lasting... Do I sense ambroxan? Maybe it’s the Eau de Parfum concentration that helps as well. Can be easily worn as a daily scent to feel refreshed with little sweetness.

reminds me of mfk a la rose. fresh interpretation of a rose water. easy to wear. very simplistic. kinda reminds me of chloe too but this one smells more natural. more like an auntie scent. very clean, reminds me of saints robes in churches. what sets this apart from other rose water frags is the BEAUTIFUL ambergris impressive drydown that still projects. a la rose dries down to a generic musky soapy rose. 12 hours on my skin. cons: smells a bit nivea cream at 10 hour mark(but no worries it doesnt project, just reapply)

This has every accord I adore in a fragrance. So...YES! I love its watery rose scent with just the right amount of green not too overpowering. It came on like a purring cat and settled into a seductive purr. Remained close to the skin for several hours. I wish it had a bit more projection but a love nonetheless...that being said, I got my sample at Bloomingdales and the rep said it loses a bit of its punch when it's extracted from the bottle. I am absolutely 100% going back to buy a full bottle--- it's a love!
