Rose Gipsy

This smells like no fragrance that I have ever smelled. This is the most realistic rose that I have ever smelled. It smells like it’s a early spring morning and the air is misty and dews have collected on a pink rose and you pick the rose along with the stem and the leaves and you crush everything together and make a perfume like in the old days. You can smell the rose but you can also smell the stems making it a fresh green rose. It’s very elegant and perfect for a posh brunch or afternoon tea. I get about 6 hours on skin and 8 hours on clothes with a moderate projection but great silage. It layers so well with Delina, Dior blooming bouquet and Roses vanille by Mancera but my favorite combo is with Dior blooming bouquet: it creates a feminine, classy fresh beautiful rose perfume. I want to try to layer it with Chanel eau tendre now 😍

Now that I've finally sampled this scent, I can tell you that it is VERY similar to La colle noir, with the following differences. La Colle Noire is sweeter, and slightly louder. It contains a lemony note, but I smell more of a sweet raspberry touch with the rose. Rose Gipsy is a more delicate, smooth, Turkish delight kind of vibe. It does resemble rose water, though goes slightly peppery on the dry down. I also detect a similar DNA to Gris Dior on the dry down (minus the patchouli). So yes, it's a lovely watery light rose perfume. And that's perfect for me. I've no doubt there's probably other perfumes that smell very similar for a fraction of the cost. Though I do enjoy the Dior style that's reminiscent in every fragrance. I already have La Colle Noire, so don't really need this to. But have bought a mini just to keep in my bag.

Rose gipsy opens fresh with some peppery spicy qualities. It’s actually the least sweet and the most ‘thorny’ prickly rose from the Dior line. I think La colle noire is denser than Gipsy but sweeter and more ambery. Rose Gipsy smells like the rose and the stems all crushed together. So there’s definitely a lot of ‘green’ quality to it. It eventually calms down to a translucent watery white musky rose soap perfume... Which is surprisingly tenacious and long lasting... Do I sense ambroxan? Maybe it’s the Eau de Parfum concentration that helps as well. Can be easily worn as a daily scent to feel refreshed with little sweetness.

reminds me of mfk a la rose. fresh interpretation of a rose water. easy to wear. very simplistic. kinda reminds me of chloe too but this one smells more natural. more like an auntie scent. very clean, reminds me of saints robes in churches. what sets this apart from other rose water frags is the BEAUTIFUL ambergris impressive drydown that still projects. a la rose dries down to a generic musky soapy rose. 12 hours on my skin. cons: smells a bit nivea cream at 10 hour mark(but no worries it doesnt project, just reapply)

This has every accord I adore in a fragrance. So...YES! I love its watery rose scent with just the right amount of green not too overpowering. It came on like a purring cat and settled into a seductive purr. Remained close to the skin for several hours. I wish it had a bit more projection but a love nonetheless...that being said, I got my sample at Bloomingdales and the rep said it loses a bit of its punch when it's extracted from the bottle. I am absolutely 100% going back to buy a full bottle--- it's a love!

I received a free sample with my order from Dior and this didn't impress me. Pretty watery rose that I found too sheer and light. Might work well in high heat and humidity but all but disappeared and became a skin scent an hour after spraying in the cool of the early spring. I like the dry down better as it got a little spicy with a hint of amber playing in the background. Still, I had to bring my wrist to my nose to smell it. Too simple for my taste but if that is what you are seeking it may work for you.

Lovely green rose. Not complex, but a perfect iteration of what it is. Simple, but elegant. I live in a hot, humid climate and this is refreshing and exactly what I want on a hot day. Performance is decent and I think it’s a tremendous value. The bottle is expensive, but it’s huge! It works out to around $50 an ounce, which is a great price for such a well blended scent.

Rose Gypsy is a simple and easy to wear rose water. It smells natural, light and not overdone. The mood is fresh, crisp, cooling, and translucent. You will get some other floral fruity notes. I can't really recall what they are but I'd say lime, apple, and lily. I didn't try it on my skin so the longevity is unknown. The projection is mild and bright. -AB-

Could anyone tell me if Rose Gipsy is reminiscent of perfumes scents like La Colle Noire or Florabotanica? Both of which I have, but would like a more delicate simple rose scent. Many thanks

So good. Very green and alive, freshly cut rose. Projects a sense of cleanliness and comfort. Smells expensive too.

On first spritz, this smells like roses after a soft rain — fresh, slightly watery, and incredibly realistic. It’s not that sharp or artificial rose note some florals have; this feels like walking through a garden after a drizzle. There's a touch of sweetness and maybe even a tiny, almost undetectable sour nuance that just keeps it interesting. After about 30 minutes, it settles into a more powdery, velvety scent. Still floral, still feminine, but now leaning into a soft, jammy rose with a whisper of green. It loses a bit of that "just rained" freshness and becomes more like a romantic rosewater veil. Projection is mild (I tested it on paper), and it starts to fade into a skin scent fairly quickly. Vibe: 👰🏼♀️🌸📿🌹

It opens with freshly cut roses with stems and leaves. Besides rose, there are also green floral notes like lily-of-the-valley throughout the run. Some spicy notes can be noted in the initial spraying, but they quickly died away. The rose here is not much of a photorealistic fresh or dried rose; it's rather powdery, reminiscent of cosmetics. As the powdery notes start fading away, the rose finally becomes more fresh and dewy.

I came across a decant for a fraction of what the actual mL of this perfume COSTs. AS may have said, this is a watery rose scent. Perfect for office wear, but honestly, too simple. This lacks THAT simplicity as for example MFK aLa Rose has, so I would stick to MFK. If you would like to splurge, yes, otherwise go for a ligher Jo MAlone Red Roses or Diptyque Eau Rose for a better value.

Luxurious intimate roses and white musk scent. Opening is intensely green and vegetal; smelling like the stem of the rose. After drying down, the white musk is increasingly present with a floral backbone and light green nuances. The scent is very light and beautiful. It wears close to skin and comes across effortless.

Really nice but pretty much identical to Diptyque's Eau Rose which is a better value.

A very light greenish rose scent with a peppery note, one I imagine a delicate young lady would wear. Not too strong or soapy. Closed eyed, I could almost imagine that a beauty walk by with a bouquet of fresh cut pink roses. A rather straightforward rose scent. Simple and effective.

This does not smell like MFK aLa Rose or Delina, it’s more in line with Chloe in terms of similarity. If you picture Montale roses musk without the Oud, then there’s a light similarity. This perfume is a generic old school perfumy scent with an accent of rose. Hard pass me for.

OOOOOOooooooo I love this rose fragrance. So clean, not sweet, true floral dew drop fragrance. Lasts all day with out giving a headache. Simple gorgeous and very attractive smell. This truly reminds me of a blooming rose garden in the morning dew. Just love it. Also the bottle is simple. But I will say this...8.4 oz bottle for a little over $300! What other designer fragrance can you get that amount for?? Fabulous!! Home run by Dior! Thank you!

The rose in this fragrance is very well blended. At the 1st blast the rose you get is very fresh with some green notes. As the time passes it turns into more dry rose with slight spiciness. Overall it's a very beautiful smooth and simple fragrance. Perfect for a nice yet a bit different office scent.

Literally smells like montale roses musk but this one is lighter. So a much more expensive version of Montale Roses Musk with more water as it doesn't as much as the Montale one.

-Opening notes remind me of Parfums de Marly's Delina. -Dry-down contains light powdery notes. -Longevity: Low -Projection: Low -Not fbw. (-)
