Sometimes, perfection is found in simplicity. And this is the perfect example of that. 🌹💦 Will it blow your mind by how unique or groundbreaking it is ? No, it will not. But if you love rose fragrances and want a good watery rose, this one is executed to jaw-dropping perfection. A non-complicated, beautiful watery rose with an almost palpable dewiness. Elegant and beautiful in it's simplicity, and definitely femenine. A perfect year-round, anytime anywhere, signature worthy fragrance. Moderate sillage and projection for around 6 hours. I guess for the price, one would expect better, but it's also not horribly short lived. Addressing the "reminds me of" section : though I understand the comparisons, I find this FAR superior than both Rose de Vents by LV (nice, but there is something in the fruitiness that bothers my nose) , and A la rose by MFK , which starts promising but then falls flat.... like it's missing something. I would choose Rose Kabuki over those 2, any given day. ♥️

I understand that the simplicity is the last thing people would expect for the price point, rose kabuki is exactly what it says on the bottle, rose, airy powdery, light and fragile, I applied la colle noire and rose kabuki on separate wrists, for everything in it it's surprising how much kabuki outperforms noire. Reminds me of a penhaligons lip balm in some ways with it's muted waxy tone :) this one can stay, for the days when I want quintessential rose without Diors typical dark nuances. Would also be great to layer, unless you can appreciate the minimalist rose, at this price point, go for a nice designer perfume instead, I however have a large collection from the line and love to layer them to give my own unique twists. On days when I want more rose in my scent profile without disturbing the other nuances too much, this will be joyous. 8/10

I love love love this scent but the sillage and longevity is very poor. At the 1 hour mark, it is pure skin scent on me. Performs as poorly as Dior Sakura. Dior Lucky is slightly better performing. These three are my favourites from the Privee collection. I love light fresh florals and these are often so fleeting. I love rose scents and Rose Kabuki is my favourite because of how dewy/fresh/aquatic the rose is even though it may not be the most accurate representation of a true rose scent. The dry down is a lot more woody than powdery. But it is a light and soft woody scent - like the Kabuki theatre.

Just acquired a partial bottle of rose Kabuki and it's beautifully done, smooth soothing cottony rose. The musk is balanced and sits in the background not being prominent unlike some dupes or alternative which are very heavy and musky. I have on hand an alternative named Rose Musk from Ard Al Zaafaran under their Private Couture Collection and realized this dupe isn't close at all so skip this clone just get the beautiful smelling rose Kabuki og.

A really lovely realistic minimalist rose fragrance that smells of pink rosebuds with a hint of dewy green leaves and a very gentle sweet musk in the base. It’s one of the prettiest, freshest rose fragrances around. Walking through a beautiful rose garden on an early summer morning, there is dew on the grass and the rosebuds are slowly opening to the morning sun.

Hands down the most beautiful rose fragrance I have ever came across, and I’m a big rose scent fan. So rosy, so clean, so fresh and feminine. That’s why it quickly became my signature scent. To me it smells innocent but classy and elegant at the same time. Christian Dior loved women and he surely would love this scent too🌹

Rosey, powdery and musky. A pleasant and delicate feminine fragrance. Personally I think it is overpriced. It becomes more powdery as time goes on. It doesn't really last long and it's a little weak. If you're looking for an equally expensive, but much better performing dupe: A La Rose by MFK.

I am sometimes really fond of rose scents, and Rose Kabuki is my favourite rose scent. It is very special because it has a unique character and unique base. It smells like fresh roses that bloomed in a French garden with the morning dew still on the roses and their leaves.

A cotton puff dunked into rose water. A pretty and hazy pale pink fragrance - like a ballerina. Would be perfect for a (British) debutante ball, if those still existed.

Tried my sample and at the beginning it’s very musky concentrated rose and after while comes freshly floral, my favorite rose perfume after Delina 💕

Rose Kabuki by Maison Christian Dior () Rose kabuki was staying in my declutter shelf for a big while, it kinda hang in there. I was instant loving the scent but next time It just a little bit screechy, clueless why it arounds. And I also own the another two the always get compare, Rose Des Vents (RDV)and La Colle Noire (LCN) I do sniff test again, just to justify the thought of my own. I kinda discovery something in Air truly effect a few scent from this house being Lucky and Rose Kabuki. It seems need some either heat or humidity to bloom beautifully. Rose kabuki when face certain type of Air, seems to be the most beautiful. Green rose on powdery bed. This powdery note is something I would not describe as powdery sandalwood or Iris. It reminds me of natural talcum powder (rice/wheat to be specific) by the way it smell, but combination with rose, Is so neat. It’s the least offensive than another two offering. However, in a same time when I use in Winter that Powdery was so dry. It makes me thirsty. In comparison, RDV is powdery feel by Iris so it is a bit denser. Wile LCN is amber/sandalwood it provide difference feel. Both also, have a more fruity like (black current syrup) than RC that almost pure rose. Is rose kabuki hold up(?), I have no idea. All of this are modern powdery rose, and rose kabuki kinda a bit faint the most but it certain setup it can also be appreciated. Also, you can find the base of LCN to be identical to Rose Kabuki when it dried down a bit maybe it is the same musk/rose. Just less powdery more fruity nuance. I found this most beautiful in hotter month when the air is not dry probably focus more on Asian market where thinner, closer scent are appreciated than screaming one. Should you must own 3.. boy I have no idea. All of this are so similar yet difference in details. They are not the same after all but I don’t think it justify to own 3 fragrances that too similar. After actualizing, I kinda feel I don’t really need it. RDV are more luxurious while LCN is more handsome. Rose Kabuki is most safe and neat. However, I would like to bring Eau Rose (EDP) as another stronger contender. For the Safe / Neat Rose, yet additional element of Elegant. It’s sure can be a great filler to rose arsenal but how many time would you reach when you have too many rose lie around? Score 7/10 Projection : moderate soft/soft Classification : unisex leans femme Summary : The Shy Rose one from MCD. ===== Edit January 11, 2023 As the scent progress 2 hours post wear, the powdery merge and stay in front cover The Rose, which really starting to whisper. Even overall feel is fairy dew. but in somewhat also dry. (?) La Colle Noire still hold up quite good and at the same time, this rose - can easily be replaced with Eau Rose by Diptyque. It is very Whisper, too soft. This might be truly a few one that deserve a deculturation.

It's very delicate and very pretty, but so so faint, I can't even feel it that properly to describe. Slightly, very softly fruity, dewy, shy, ephemeral rose. Less soapy/detergent than Blooming Bouquet. Less fresh and less lasting than MFK's L'Eau a la Rose. Not similar to Rose des Vents, as LV is quite a strong, forceful perfume and much more fruity. They could be comparable if Rose des Vents was toned down like 10 times. Not similar to A la Rose at all, Rose Kabuki has no significant citrusy side to it. Not similar to Rose N'Roses too, as that one is a very different, bolder rose, filled with geranium, it's almost sexy, whereas Rose Kabuki is a modest rose. Forever and Ever seems to be even more generic and it is not all rose concentrated. Chloe Rose is also a different version with some zingy-citrusy-green-aromatic side. Rose Kabuki, as a rose centered fragrance, stands on its own. It's different from the perfumes it is compared to. It is an absolutely safe, polite, dainty rose. A nighttime going to bed fragrance, a K-Beauty type of fragrance. In my humble opinion, very overpriced for what it offers, although extremely pretty. Update: So I sprayed this around 10 times or more and only now I can find some resemblance to Rose des Vents. At this concentration they both smell like rose petals that already lost their vitality left around in water.

Like Sakura from Dior's Private line as well, this is also a minimalist Rose fragrance with this being an even more extreme take on a minimalist Rose perfume. As you can see with the listed notes, it's both quite simplistic, and I'd say the scent itself is nothing groundbreaking or new, but regardless I think it's both appealing and a pleasant scent either way; it's a Watery and sweet Rose fragrance with some underlying white musks like in Kabuki (with this being entirely rose centric, and the musks being a little stronger). Smells almost like you're walking through a garden and smell a rose after watering the plants or after it's finished raining (minus the petrichor scent). Projection wise I it's medium projecting scent on my skin with around 5-6 hours longevity, in terms of werability I'd say it's perfect for spring and for moderate summer days, I'd say this is also a firmly feminine leaning fragrance. Final Verdict is a 6.6/10

I think this is the first perfume I have tried from Dior's privée line that I'm not in love with. It's fine, there's nothing wrong with it, but it's not special or enchanting in the way that I have found other fragrances in this line to be. It's a very watery yet traditional rose; not dewy per se, but more like a pleasantly watered down perfumery rose. Not green, but watery. I prefer more photorealistic rose scents that smell more like rose oil, but the fact the perfumery rose note in this is diluted helps its case with me. That being said, its watery nature means that this perfume is, unfortunately, very short lived. I can't smell it an hour after spraying it. Nice, but unremarkable and fleeting. Not worth the price for the performance. 6/10.

First impression wasn’t the best i was just smelling a really plain concentrated rose scent But the fragrance grew on me and i fell in love with it really smells emotional even tho its just rose musk dew drops whatever but no one those days smell like this im happy with it actually i own it for 4 years now the bottle i have was the i think 125ml before dior freaks and change it to a 100ml bottle and fly the prices out of this planet To me this kind of a scent doesn’t deserve more than 400 riyals { almost 105 dollar } Even though I wouldn’t re purchase it even when i adore this scent it doesn’t deserve the price tag 7/10

Such a pretty rose! Fresh, crisp and natural, I definitely smell the dewy green note and I love it. Oh I could bathe myself in this and make it my signature. Early morning pink roses, with dew still clinging to its petals and leaves from last night’s rain. It’s a simple scent but brilliant in its simplicity. I don’t even care that it only lasts 3-4 hours. It’s perfect for daytime warm weather and gives me a cooling sensation when I wear it. It’s out of my budget right now, but someday it will be mine, the largest bottle of it! I’d decant into a travel size bottle to refresh throughout the day.

I'm surprised that peony isn't listed in one of its notes. My nose is picking up peonies and maybe another white flower in the first initial spray. I would like to wear this on hot summer days and I could see myself buying a whole bottle for this fragrance. This was suggested to me by one of the fragrantica users I came across who is an avid lover of rose notes. I'm so happy to have consulted her. Kind of picking up Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet older version scent in here though, which then dries down to a powdery rose.

Rose Kabuki is the safest possible rose fragrance you could ever come across with...which is why I find it a little boring... Don’t get me wrong, she’s so nice, a little watery or dewy to put it in more poetic terms. But personally, I like my rose to have a little more bite. Take Rose Ikebana from the Hermessence line, it’s a nice rose but it has a green but slightly spicy note in it that makes the scent more interesting. Of course, this is purely my own opinion! Always sample first!🌹🌹🌹

Ok i had to completely change my review, I initially was very disappointed and wanted to return the fragrance, but it turned into lovely feminine beauty. I still think performance is a joke, but the scent is so lovely and elegant. I absolutely love it and glad i didnt return it. You do have to bath yourself in it to get any sort of performance but its pretty. Its sweet and slightly powdery but yet still fresh.

Rose Kabuki is a bright, sheer rose. It smells like fresh rose buds in a Japanese garden with the morning dew still on the roses and their leaves. It's a fresh, dewy, slightly green rose that smells sheer and fresh. There is hardly any development, it's pretty linear. Very pretty but it becomes a skin scent after an hour. However, if you spray Rose Kabuki on your clothing, it will smell lovely for hours.

It has a similar feel to Lucky (a scent of lily of the valley), also by Maison Christian Dior. It also smells like sweet berries. Rose N'Roses has been mentioned as a similar perfume, but it is not similar at all. That one is a musky rose and not as sweet as this one. I think it is a weak and harmless fragrance. I don't think it's worth the price and I don't feel the "Kabuki" element.

I normally stay away from ROSE fragrances like hell. I generally dislike them and a rose fragrance has never WOW-ed me. But this is something so pleasant, I don't see how anyone can hate on it. I like it and recommend trying it. It's nice, clean and kind of addictive in its simplicity.

A beautiful fresh baby rose, covered in the morning dew. Simple, refined and clean. Very similar to Stella to my nose, but slightly more powerful.

I don't think I've ever been so let down by a fragrance that isn't actually bad... I can only blame myself for building up my expectations too high for this one, but... yeah. Rose Kabuki is pleasant enough, but it quite literally makes me feel nothing. I'm painfully indifferent. As for the scent itself, "dew drop" is accurate. It's only slightly green, not at all bitter like Jo Malone Red Roses or any other rose fragrance that tries to capture the whole plant rather than just the petals. I also agree with other reviewers that this smells like it has peony in it. This is a strange one for me, because it lives in its own liminal space - it doesn't smell very realistic, but it isn't overtly synthetic either. It's perfectly functional, but has no character. As I said, it makes me feel nothing. It simply exists. This review is coming off far more negative than I intended it to be... Rose Kabuki is pretty! It's inoffensive! Office friendly, etc. It sits in that perfect in-between of not being a skin scent but also not being a "performance monster" either. Also, since I've seen it mentioned I'll say I actually think this is quite different to MFK L'eau a la Rose! That one has no greenery to it at all, and is more aquatic. It also reads as more "perfume-y" IMO, though it also has the benefit of being a little more complex than Rose Kabuki. Trying this was the final stop in my long, long, loooooong journey in trying to find my perfect "rose water" scent. I still haven't found it, but I'm conceding for the time being and crowning Diptyque Eau Rose EDT my winner. It's close enough, for now. But the search continues still...

This kind of reminds me of Jo Malone's Peony&Suede Blush, although it doesn't have a peony note, but a watery rose one. It might also be a better alternative to Mugler's Angel Nova, which I found much more generic and synthetic/cheap smelling. This kind of perfume is best suited for spring. Overall, this is another "filler" perfume in the Dior line, that appeared only to satisfy a certain segment of the crowd who would like a rose fragrance. Another similar one is Lucky, which has lilly of the valley (also a nostalgic crowd pleasing flower) as the predominant note. Not sure this is really a niche release but then again MFK also has A la rose, which is another subdued and unmemorable rose that you can splash yourself with and go to work without offending. Delina La Rosee is another one in the same vein but probably the best among them.

Very similar to A la Rose MFK, This is a synthetic rose, A la Rose is more natural and fresher I have both and I prefer MFK way better. This for a synthetic rose is way over priced imo.

Delicate watery rose scent. Office appropriate with short longevity. Does not justify the price of $220, unless the tag price is part of the luxorious feeling. Which sometimes it does.

Sorry this is a harsh review. Wow this is bad. Off putting. Like a generic rose with a fishy note. It smells like an old woman is passing a fish dish around during a family dinner. If I smelled this on someone I would think they use some old body cream, an expired perfume and have a naturally unappealing body odor. 2/10

A simple rose with a green facet and a touch of white musk at the drydown. Honestly, there is nothing to write home about. There are tons of alternatives in the market so I don't see why anyone would definitely have to own this rose scent.

Rose petals floating in a bowl of water. Pink tea roses. Rosewater. Meh. Safe, pretty. It reminds me of other Dior roses. Rose n Roses, Addict To Life, Forever and Ever. It's like they put the same stuff in different bottles. It reminds me of Addict To Life A LOT... the berry notes are not listed, but I smell raspberry here, also lily of the valley and jasmine. OK, the opening is fresh...but then it settles, there's a barely there note that's like an old-fashioned rose scented powder compact from the 80s, like Lancome classic face powder... but still dewy, so it doesn't go retro or dated. Now I get it, Kabuki theater makeup, face powder. But fresh?? You will get compliments... Compliments from men especially...I think this is the type of fragrance they like to smell on a woman. Very feminine. If light, fresh rose soliflores and rosewater are your thing, check this one out. Moderate, polite performance. $250? No, I don't think so. I miss my Addict 2 Life, but $250 is too much for the rose scented water. Photorealistic modern tea rose.

This is the most beautiful rose scent that I have ever smelled. It smells outstandingly natural soft, and sophisticated, and also very fresh. It is a very romantic fragrance, I can easily imagine wearing it for your wedding for example. I am considering investing in it, but the longevity is very bad for me unfortunately. I would definitely have to reapply during the day and for that it is quite expensive. (Heads up, it's a lot cheaper in Europe than in the US.)

-Opening notes are very sharp to me. -A friend said they picked up floral notes, but my nose detects more of a sharp alcohol scent. -Middle notes are nice and floral. -Projection: low -Longevity: low. -On skin, it lasts nowhere as long as La Colle Noire (LCN is easily my fav from the Maison Dior lineup. It lasts 10-12 hours as a skin scent.) -Dry-down shares DNA of all other Maison Diors fragrances. -Overall: Too generic. -Not fbw. (-)

This has a really dry rose smell. Don’t get me wrong, it is not an offensive smell if you enjoy the non synthetic natural smell of roses but I like my perfumes to be a bit more bright and not so bitter. The minute I smelled it I was reminded of a perfume I have smelled in the past that I absolutely detest, Marc Jacobs Lola. It’s not as awful as Lola but still the reminder isn’t pleasant.

If you like Rose Kabuki and don't want to spend the £220, you can get Wind by Abaco Paris for £15 from TK Maxx, like I did, and you won't be able to tell the difference. Even the bottles look the same. It's basically your straightforward delicate rose scent that has been done many times before. Nice but nothing special.

It slightly reminds me of YSL Parisienne. Clearly this wasn't intended to be Dior's pearl in the crown - like Dune or Dolce Vita. I like the concept of a rose served in a "greenish" way - but on me it doesn't smell like a morning dew. Again - the mind says YES, the body says NO:)

The opening of this is the most beautiful, dewy, juicy (not fruity) rose I have smelled in a very long time. Unfortunately, at least on paper, it dries down to some sort of medicinal salve that I strongly dislike, I'll have to go to the store again and test this on my skin.

I’ve no doubt this is a lovely fragrance, but Dew Drop? Really? Notes seem to be becoming more and more conceptual these days. In the past few years we’ve had “concrete” and “edamame peas”. What next? Expensive Tap Water?
