Another clumsy, careless imitation of already fading and boring trends. Those who want to grab a few bottles before reformulating - I hasten to upset you. Today, the flavors come out as shit right away, so there's no need to wait for a reformulation. After the prohibition of many components, including salicylates, durability is 1-2 hours with an intimate train, a cropped pyramid and other delights.. For God's sake, bring back at least 2020 with Demachi as a perfumer and a multi-faceted perfumer for 40 bucks, as no other niche can now.

I love it when luxury brands release things like this, which are on their face not meant for you, just to remind you that they are a luxury brand and are only selling things within your budget as a kindness to you, and they do not in any way, shape, or form need your business. This is essentially Christian Dior giving their actual customers (business associates and friends) bragging rights that normal people couldn't fathom. This release is the equivalent of jewelry, or a Rolex watch, which you could only obtain if you genuinely have the money to spend at the time. The bottle is made of crystal, and the text is made out of palladium. I bet you the people who end up owning this will use it to trade with one another for cars and watches and box seat vip tickets to things, as they already do with comparable items. It doesn't even matter what this smells like. Someone asked, "if you are going to make an exclusive collectors' release, why would you do it with the Sauvage line." The answer is actually incredibly simple: in real life, wealthy people love Sauvage. More specifically, the wealthy Persians who love Sauvage (it's genuinely a cultural thing), the wealthy Saudis, and the Dubai CEO's are the target audience for this release. That is why it is Sauvage meets deep, rich notes of Oud. This is a fragrance release for the rich Middle Eastern CEO's who claim to have royal family ties. No hate from me, though. How am I entitled to complain about a luxury clothing brand teaming up with another luxury crystal brand to make a crystal and palladium-infused bottle with an Oud-based fragrance that would be out of my budget even if they sold for just the cost of the materials alone? It obviously wasn't made for me. lol

@hunter You gave me a lot of clarity from business perspective. What you should also understand is, with the rise of social media, people will fight anything thats not democratic. When dior released something as affordable and accessible as Sauvage and milk the market, people actually loved it, made it a top seller and they associated themself with the brand then on. Then dior being a DIOR, when they do this rich people exclusive, they knowingly/unknowingly divide their customers class wise. Why this is not acceptable for the community -This is not Amouage that use high end ingredients to justify pricetag. -Its not a major creative upgrade -Limited release so the price would skyrocket and purely serves clout seekers, NOT THE COMMUNITY. In fact it is against the community. -This is mainstream Sauvage line which is loved by many. and they made it untouchable. Basically called for a RAGEBAIT and RUMBLE. When you touch something thats beloved/affordable, which made you a top seller and then make it untouchable(for the same customer) you prepare yourself for an uproar. DUH! When people are woke and breaching the matrix, business need to adapt and make a clear stand. Whether they want to serve the masses or the rich and have a separate line which only makes sense. So a new scent unlike the previous Sauvage by Baccarat which was just Sauvage Elixir as a 500 ml Baccarat crystal bottle and retailed for £6000. I really hope an UAE CLONE house gets its hands on a sample of this as DIOR and their uber expensive limited editions are becoming a joke... Scent for Tax Avoiders, Dictators and dodgy Oligarchs. Nice that it has alcohol in it so less chance FK has FK’ed it up! I've got a feeling that with FK comparing perfumery to distillery that DIOR is going to come out with an affordable version of this much like what happens with whiskies. Maybe 'DIOR SAUVAGE FINE BLEND' or some such thing? Releases like this are why I love clones, you get to smell 'expensive'... they democratise scent. BR540 and Aventus being prime examples. Whenever I smell them I don't think 'Wow! He's wearing a £500 fragrance' I think 'Oh, I've got that clone too'. Same will happen with this nonsense... WHEN it is cloned... whoever paid £12,000 for it is gonna smell it everywhere... and everyone that smells the OG on him will think... 'Nice bro... I got that clone too!'

For the people who state that "NooNe haS smelleD it yET" yes, I hear you; and probably no one ever will. Nobody really knows if the 15 bottles are even real or just a marketing stunt idea by Kurkdjian. Even if they are real most likely there will be not even a single sample or a tester bottle ever produced neither a 5ml tube bottle with the concentrated final formula will never be offered to be handed to boutique area managers for them to offer them to high clientele, so we're clearly talking about a collector's item that is offered only to high clientele individuals that are willing to acquire such an item without bothering to even have an idea of how it smells like. If the 15 bottles are not real I speculate that they will produce a prototype bottle filled with dyed liquid just for them to display it at La Galerie Dior in Paris, proving that the 15 bottles are real and not some legend; and that's how far this story will go. Classic shame old pretentious Kurkdjian.

For FK's - SAKE, what in the ActualBCDior is going on over there!!??!!?? They need new creative direction from someone less emblematic, simple as that. This is a direct result for hiring someone who has an established brand and following of their own. It's almost like DIOR is not going to let Francis outshine the brand so they just keep rehashing the same fumes....literally. Sauvage already peaked with Elixir and what they need is a new poster child to carry the brand forward. I love Dior perfumery and their Privee collection is the only thing keeping me on board. I think Kurkdjian is keeping screwing up demolishing the core DNA of sauvage. ok I got that as a new designer he wants to put his own signature but No!!! people liked the masculine freshness of the new sauvage at 2015. Demachi kept developing it till the Parfume was released. To me the best edition out there was the Very Cool Spray which reflected even more freshness and sexy cleanness of a man. it was a terrible decission to cancel it! I mean think about the global warming, the un bearable summers in the last years, which notes you think we need? fresh ones or woody smooky? and now this guy is taking it far away out of the line. disappointing.

Why are people so mad? This is a luxury fashion brand collaborating with a luxury crystal brand to make a collector's item only for very rich enthusiasts. You and I, the ordinary people, are not the target audience. It's obviously not for the mass-market and most customers will never even know this existed. It's been done before, it will be done again. I'm gonna get canceled for saying this, but Francis Kurkdjian is ruining the house of dior all the perfumes that he's released for them.I understand he's a master perfumer.He's making them not even to the original dna of the original fragrances. Also, he's making them so basic and not special.And your perfume used to be so full of power and magic and like the miss dior the new version and le perfum our truly basic fragrances.When the original versions of them were powerhouses, that told a story of greatness in woman, this guy is just putting his name on stuff and releasing mediocre fragrances at best at ridiculous pricing .

People on here still have no idea that even though Francis Kurkdijan is the creative director for Dior that he does not have “free rein” to do anything he wants like you think he does. Ultimately this is very “corporate” style of perfumery where he has to basically create something in the realm that Dior/LVMH wants him to create which could actually be very restricting if their goal is to just make more money and not care about uniqueness. Tried it and owned it with a friend and to be honest to change my mind after taking few ml from it and used it as spray there is deference between it and the elixir version as he is the first one to own the bottle the Oud and vanilla are noticeable at the opening if you focus and have a very strong nose and for the one who is saying we don’t have it let’s meat and let’s smell it come to Dubai merdif golden collections perfume own and it’s just for a display in the shop

I’m curious how this “rare blend” is related to the OG fragrance. It looks like a money grab using a popular name with a massive following. Honestly, I’m not sure who will win the race for the “biggest money grab” of the year - YSL with their never-ending Libre flanker carousel, Lancôme with La Vie Est Belle, or Dior’s attempt to join the game with this one. I miss the times when fragrance houses actually put some effort into creating something truly worthy.

Please stop with these useless flankers. Do something fresh and new. Stop making a bottomless pit of despair of sauvages and profumos or phantoms. No one needs all of that redundancy. This is what I hate most about mainstream fragrances. It isnt even about the scent anymore. $16,000 for this is absolutely insane. For fake oud, and synthetic vanilla and labdanum. No thanks.

UPDATE: i brazenly went into their one and only boutique in Manhattan that’s geared towards—for lack of a better term—preferred or base clients, hoping to get my nose on this (one spray is probably a minimum wage’s bi-weekly check) and was told they only received two pieces which were promptly bought up. I tried.
