Sauvage Very Cool Spray

Finally got around to buying this one, knew it was a safe blind buy Bc I own and love every other sauvage fragrance. The bottle is unique of course, and a bit strange when you unbox it, as it is so light in weight and not in a glass bottle, so initially it’s hard not to feel like you just paid 80 dollars for a body spray haha. However this is certainly not the case, as this lasts and projects just as much, if not more so, than the original sauvage Edt. Projection seems to be increased actually, to be honest. My girlfriend immediately noticed this and was like “wow you smell good...” after I told her what it was, she was surprised and even said “I’ve smelled your Sauvage so many times but never has it been that strong and fresh”, which in this case was a compliment, BUT, also something to keep in mind if you work in an office or something, this is beastly and definitely NOT a glorified Axe body spray, it’s strong and one tiny press of the sprayer will give you a huge BLAST of fragrance. This may also contribute to increased projection of course, so go easy on this in the gym or office, it’s absolutely not meant to be sprayed as liberally as a deoderant body spray. Scent wise, it’s unmistakably Dior sauvage, which means a few things: it’s an incredibly versatile and bold fragrance (personally I love it!), but it also means it will be polarizing and garner strong reactions, whether they be positive of negative. I can very much detect the grapefruit, it’s really nice. I noted that many reviews said this felt more citrusy and lighter, which is a justified comment, but keep in mind this fragrance is still significantly dense, even though this is the most fresh and airy out of the four sauvage formulations. It’s nowhere near being a light, breezy scent like Dior Homme Sport or Dior Homme Cologne, two of my other favorites. The citrus blast is very pleasing, but I also felt like the pepper-y spice was still very, very noticeable, which isn’t a bad thing. Overall the biggest thing I noticed, is this blend feels much less dry than the EDT, it’s a lot more juicy and “wet”. I definitely wouldn’t say it’s sweeter, it’s just more citrusy, which to me comes off as a bit more tart and juicy. The Parfum is easily the sweetest of the four. I also noticed the drydown has less of that dry/scratchy feeling. A fantastic formulation of a legendary fragrance line, it’s not here to sway anyone... if you don’t like sauvage, this will absolutely not change your mind, in fact you may even find this to be the biggest offender of the entire line and curse Francois Demachy to hell for creating such a thing in the first place (and make sure every last one of us here knows how much you despise it, too). Me, I love sauvage very much, but of course I understand why some people don’t. It’s wild, an overdose of spice, raw AF and can be aggressive and overbearing, but it’s also magical and addicting and gets compliments and attention like no other fragrance I’ve ever worn. And I don’t even wear fragrances for compliments or attention, honestly. I wear it because I love the smell and it makes me happy. It seems a significant amount of other people seem to agree when I wear it. This is a very fine addition to the line, and a perfect option for carrying around in your gym bag (just don’t freakin spray it all over before you work out, you’ll choke everyone out with this beast haha). Projection and longevity are both outstanding, possibly the best in the entire line. If you own the EDT, you could do without this, but if you’re a fan of sauvage it’s an easy blind buy and different enough to warrant a full bottle (can?) purchase. I’ve yet to find a creation by Francois Demachy that I dislike.

Dior Sauvage Very Cool Spray is 90% Dior Sauvage EDT which too me unless you spray light is very metallic and headache inducing. I don't like that fragrance but the drydown is amazing. Dior Sauvage Very Cool Spray takes Dior Sauvage EDT and lightens it with an added grapefruit note but it takes a back step by putting it in an aerosol spray can. I actually love it but don't like the spray can. Sauvage Very Cool Spray opens with a very pleasant and lighter grapefruit note. It doesn't make the scent as dense as the EDT is. That said, Very Cool Spray's grapefruit don't always last and within about thirty minutes you get the standard Sauvage smell. That said, it isn't as metallic and knocking out with sillage as Sauvage is. You get pepper, lavender and ambroxan as your main notes after the grapefruit dies off. Very Cool Spray lasts pretty good. It is like an EDT Axe. That said, unlike the original, the open don't lasts (though that just blends into the drydown and it settles into the drydown and that lasts a good amount of time. I find it lasts about 10 hours from a normal three spray. That said because it is an aerosol and has continuous spraying, be careful. I can get the 10 hours pretty lightly sprayed. Very Cool Spray works best in the spring summer and warmer fall days but not really a night scent. It is a very casual and work friendly scent though I think it shouldn't work for dates being Dior Sauvage is a common DNA with many duplicators like Luna Rossa Carbon, Aqva Atlantiqve, Dylan Blue, Armaf Ventura and even Jimmy Choo Man Blue having similar drydowns if not being on the nose. Dior Sauvage Very Cool Spray is to me the best part of Sauvage (the drydown) with a lighten up open. For this I rate Sauvage Very Cool Spray a 8.2 out of 10. I just wish someone would bottle it in traditional spray. Jimmy Choo Man Blue is fairly close but no grapefruit and jumps right into the drydown.

I really don't like Dior Sauvage and all its versions. I think it's really annoying, and the ambroxan note is so overwhelming that it makes me nauseous. However, I found what I was looking for in Sauvage Very Cool Spray. Dior Sauvage Very Cool Spray is a fresh and innovative version of Dior's iconic Sauvage fragrance. I'm surprised how much I like this one. I hated the original sauvage, not because it is popular or hyped, I genuinely hate the smell of the edt. It sort of has a nice shower gel bright opening but it quickly dries down into an incredibly synthetic and obnoxious mess. There is some piercing, sharp metallic thing in the edt that is so annoying to me. I think sauvage edt is maybe the worst fragrance I've ever smelled. Despite that, I bought the very cool spray because some YouTube video recommended it for summer. This is a clear improvement over the original. It takes away all of the overly synthetic peppery abroxan bomb and adds a lot of lime and grapefruit. It smells much brighter and uplifting and performs basically the same. Maybe it doesn't last quite as long but the edt lasted almost too long and the late dry down was a really bitter, ambroxanny musk smell that I hate. This is much better. This is also a very good value. I paid $59 from a retail store last year. It looks like the price is going up though. I just wish that they sold this in a regular spray bottle. The aerosol is almost impossible to accurately measure and one second of a spray is like a monster cloud of sauvage. You also can't transfer this to a travel atomizer. This is a great fragrance though. I just wish they sold this in a glass bottle. They could call it sauvage eau fraiche.

I love it! As I love all Sauvage fragrances regardless of how much hate they might receive from some folks. This is strong and lasting, it is true that you use a lot more each time you apply the Very cool spray, but even if I over apply the EDT to try to compensate the difference on the amount juice coming out between them two, the very cool spray still is a lot stronger and longer lasting. If I had to choose between EDT, EDP or Very cool spray I would pick either the spray or the EDP since they both smell great and have great performance. I am still on my first can of very cool spray, so I can't tell how fast this will run out. I was hesitant to buy VCS only because of its format, but from now on I will either go for EDP or VCS, no more EDT for me. If because of its format it runs out faster, then my choice will defintiely be EDP. Also, it sucks you can't bring it in a carry-on on at the airport / flight. I'd say longevity around 10h being skin scent and becoming faint, good turning into decent projection for about 5 or so hours. On clothes lasts way more than that. UPDATE: My experience after trying VCS for a couple of weeks is that it starts strong, but on the long run EDT ends being more noticeable throughout the day. So, yours truly is back to using EDT as signature.

Finally...a version of Sauvage that I kind of like. What I enjoy about the Very Cool Spray is that it leaves Sauvage's lighter elements in place while removing the heavier stuff, mainly that abrasive, peppery-woody base that overwhelms the original and which I personally find unpleasant and highly chemical. I mean the basic smell remains to some extent, but it's been thinned out and "cooled off" considerably. And to some extent, Very Cool is...very cool. It has a refreshing, clean, cooling quality which makes it great as something to wear right out of the shower or when you know you're going to be in an environment that's hot, humid, or stuffy. I use about 3 or 4 sprays and most of them go under my undershirt, creating a nice, clean, musky and cool aura that lasts the entire work day. Performance is good, even if it's lighter than the other versions (it's supposed to be). I'm kind of thinking of losing this one and holding on to Creed Viking instead, as I find they both accomplish the same thing more or less (while smelling different) and owning both might not be necessary. I prefer Viking a bit more as it's smoother and less synthetic feeling overall. Either way, this one's not bad at all. Final rating 8/10

I was looking for a new long-lasting sexy summer fragrance to buy. Tried different ones: Acqua di Gio', Bleu de Chanel, Versace Dylan Blue, Guerlain L'homme ideal, YSL L'homme (all with their flankers) and many others. The only one that really brought me something new and original is again my beloved Dior Sauvage, now in its fresher Very Cool Spray version. It's really 90% identical to the EDT, a bit more fruity, fresh and summer-oriented. A sexy, safe yet unique, compliment-grabber scent with monster projection for the first 3-4 hours and a nuclear longevity (at least 10 hours on skin). Definitely I really like this new sprayer, since it greatly improves the performance. I finally bought it: for the price, none of the alternatives offered anything better to my nose. Tip: I tried to layer Prada L'homme over this, since I am a bergamot+iris lover. The result is incredibly gorgeous and unique: a powdery, soapy, citrusy, ambery bomb with amazing performance that drives me crazy. Give it a try!

If you already have Sauvage, the best reason to get this is that it comes in a lightweight metallic bottle which is shatterproof and makes an excellent travel version of Sauvage. Very Cool Spray opens lighter, simpler, and more citrusy than Sauvage, but it dries down to something so similar that its purchase can hardly be justified if you own the original. I am a fan of Sauvage and haven't purchased this yet. I am on the fence as I type this. If I do get it, the reason will be found in my opening paragraph. Update: I succumbed to my whims and bought this. This has since accompanied me to a couple of weekend getaways. Doesn't weigh down my travel bag at all. Spraying from a full bottle that I own instead of a small sample, I am able to double down on my previous assessment that it opens noticeably different than the original. Big grapefruit blast. It's beautiful while it lasts, but unfortunately you get the grapefruit for less than five minutes. It's just a tease.

I became a "Sauvage bomb" lol. I really was, that much so, that someone who does not like cologne started to complain. Anyway probably the secret to be a Sauvage bomb for the whole day/night, is that I wore all the accessories, starting with the shower gel, then the aftershave balm, then the deodorant spray, then the very cool spray, (a little bit lavishly, because it feels so nice)... and finally two spritzes of Sauvage eau de Parfum in the back of my ears/neck. And man, now I was a Sauvage bomb!!!, and it did not bother me at all, but it projects a lot this way. I have all Sauvage releases and accessories, except the shaving gel, the shower gel works the same way... I would say this very cool spray is very good for summer, probably a little toned down from the original EDT, but still strong more than enough. The quality of all the products is high end.

The cute lady in the store said she loves it, and I thought the sprayer was cool so I bought it lol. It smells similar to the regular Dior Sauvage but maybe a bit more citrus in the opening and then smells slightly less "green" than the original the rest of the way. That may not make much sense but to me the original has this greenish almost musky/gassy aurora that this has less of. There is still a muskiness just less "green". Maybe that is the ambroxin note I keep hearing about, I am not sure. I think this may have less of it but overall it is very similar. Update: I am really liking the sprayer application. It sprays a wide mist that covers very well. I am not sure how long the can will last but I like it. Still smells very similar to the original, which is a good thing.

This is a fun take on the fragrance. It's funny how some assumed it was a totally different flanker but the first time I saw this in the store I just assumed it was what it is which is Sauvage in a spray can. Can definitely be more convenient for travel and the spray works fantastic. I do get a tad more citrus up front but dry down to me is pretty much the same as the bottle version. Comments that it's like a cheap body spray are just silly and I'm guessing from haters of the original lol. To me in pretty much every aspect it's just a spray can version of the original. If you've got the bottle don't likely need this unless it's time for a new one and this application may be more appealing and, or convenient for you. Great for a gym or work bag. Cheers

The more fresh version of Dior Sauvage. Smells similar to the EDT, except it's a little stronger and more natural and fresh smelling (less ambroxan and added grapefruit note). I personally find the EDT a bit too synthetic and spicy smelling, which doesn't work well in the summer imo. This one almost reminds me of Bleu de Chanel, but less formal and fresh. Before you hate on this fragrance, I challenge you to find a blue fragrance that smells this good in the hot weather, lasts and performs like a beast. Good luck. Just a very powerful, long lasting fresh summer fragrance that smells amazing in the summer. If you can still get a bottle, don't hesitate to buy one as you'll probably never get to experience how great this fragrance smells in the winter.

A GREAT version of a great fragrance, both materpieces IMO, once more DIOR shows it is a step above the rest of the designers, including gerlain, versace and even chanel. It is not the same generic crap we find in Invictus, dylan blue and stuff like that...with all due respect to those who like those ones... The whole savauge line tends to be more mainstream...but who cares?, I am well passed that stupidity...if it smells good and it is nicely crafted like this one, then it needs some recognition... an easy 8.5 out of 10 and to be honest, yes, it smells 90-95 like the original one...if you own one, I do not see the reason to own the other, at least you want to have more of the same....

with all respect for original Dior Sauvage, Very cool spray is too much higher than his father. Even more it can become like as Dior Homme intense,but at the fresh fragrance categories. Quality of juice is amazing ,but the bottle design makes it look like a cheap spray,however longevity and projection is better than Dior Sauvage and it is much more bitter and sharp. Very cool spray has liner and constant smell ,nothing will change from start to the END. LAST WORD: BUY IT ,IT IS GOOD. LONGEVITY:7.5/10 PROJECTION:7/10 UNIQUENESS:9.5/10 SEXY:10/10 SCENT:8.5/10 PRICE:6.5/10 VERSATILITY:8/10 OVERALL:8/10

If you love Sauvage you will love this! This is just a new way to wear fragrance. I've found its best to spray the 'Original' fragrance in the morning, and use the very cool spray as a 'top up' if you like. This is still a EDT, and not a deodorant. If you do your research on this then you will find that this is designed for on-the-go! Perfect for your gym bag. Its light weight, practical and eco-friendly. The added Grapefruit gives more of a fresh-hit to the fragrance at first, and is cooling to the skin, but on the dry down, just smells like the amazing Sauvage. For me, this is a win!

I finally tested this at Sephora. This is a nice cheaper Sauvage as the lone 100ml for $70USD which is the price of the smaller 50ml normal Sauvage bottle. That said, due to the VERY wide and continuous spray from the Axe/Old Spice like atomizer, it may last as long as the 50ml, if not less. That said the changes to Sauvage are actually minimal to my nose. I would get it but not in the bottle it has right now and it wasn't as on the nose to Sauvage. YES, it is a flanker but it is a little bit too much on the nose to the original.

I bought this before I bought Sauvage Edt and I loved it so much I used up the flask within one month! It made me go back and try Sauvage Edt for a second time and now I love that too. For me, this fragrance gem (9/10 btw) works best as a layered scent on top of the Edt for my long-commute to work, it's longevity is great, but go easy on the trigger guys as it's very easy to think of this as a body spray, but before you know it it's gone - the best offering of 2017 for me!

I'm already looking forward to the fiery heat of summer with this monster blast of fresh citrus juice waiting to cool me through the days. It's masculine, it's cool, it's fresh and it's introducing a whole new concept to fragrances that (as a gym rat bloke) absolutely thrills me to bits. Stick it in your bag, work-out, and reward yourself with a heavenly dose of cool citrus juice for your sweaty endeavours. Very Cool Spray? Yeah man, it's very cool indeed.

This is better than original the beginning is way fresher dry down very similar but this has that touch of grapefruit that is very enjoyable if you like original and almost out try this Sprays tons longevity 24+ hrs, sillage awsome, smell better than original they have improved upon love or hate just sprays lil to much is the only downside, will get you attention as well so be ready to answer some oh what is..... kind questions

Hands down the best version of Sauvage. More grapefruit up top and much smoother. Not as rough around the edges. My God, the compliments. I purchased five backup bottles when it was discontinued. In all my years of wearing fragrance, this is the world champion catnip compliment 👑. Bewitching to some women. A 4.2 rating??? 🤡🤡🤡🤡 town in the fragrance community.
